Work Text:
Sharo was feeling exhausted. Her birthday party with Cocoa, Chino and Chiya has ended successfully, without any damages to property and it turned out really well. Sharo had fun and so did everyone else. The only downside to all of this was probably, that Rize couldn't attend.
Sharo understood of course, she had to go somewhere with her father, and Sharo could not begrudge her that. However that didn't mean she couldn't feel a bit sad about it. Especially because, Sharo was planning to finally tell Rize about her feeling on her birthday.
Chiya was encouraging her and bugging her about it for at least two months and Sharo decided enough is enough. Chiya was right. It is time. Sharo does not think that at this point, she could lose Rize's friendship, even if she does confess her long lasting love. And even if she does, well she will deal with it when it comes to it.
Anyway right now, Sharo was cleaning after her friends and wondering about what was Rize doing at this moment. Fishing? Climbing the mountain? Or just sitting in the hotel scrolling through her phone? Maybe she could call her and find out. But as soon as she reached for her phone, someone knocked on the door.
Sharo jumped in surprise wondering who could be coming to her house so late. Her parents could be the answer, but Sharo doubted it, because their business trip was still ongoing. So who then? Sharo quietly went to the door and looked through the peephole. It was Rize standing before her, looking nervous!
Sharo was shocked at the sight. When did Rize come back? And why wasn't she informed of this? Did Rize not want to go to her party? (And didn't that make her feel sad enough to cry. Sharo thought they were friends). However when she opened the door, Rize shoved something into her hands and looked away. "Hi Sharo. Sorry I couldn't come to your birthday earlier I was travelling, and only arrived like an hour ago."
"But I wanted to see you to wish you a happy birthday. And also to give you my gift. Chiya said you were still awake and that I should go to your house. I hope you like it. And maybe next time you come over we can drink it together," Rize quickly said and turned around, quickly disappearing in the night.
Sharo closed the door and looked down at the gift. You could see the paper was put on hastily, but with care and the yellow haired girl felt her chest warm at the attention put into it. However what she found when she opened the gift took her by surprise. There was a nice cup. And with it a note that said:
Dear Sharo, Happy birthday! I am sorry I won't be there to celebrate your birthday with others, but I bought you a gift, so you would know I think and care about you, even if I am not there. I hope you like it. Chiya actually gave me an idea to make it. I knew you liked to collect cups a lot, and I was trying to find one you would really like, but somehow it didn't work out the way I wanted. And then Chiya gave me an idea to make one myself. And I did! I also made another one for myself, so when you come over we can have a matching set. Isn't that cool? I sure hope so, it is for me.
Hopefully you end up liking your gift,
Your good friend,
Rize
Sharo was looking at the note in disbelief, wondering if this was actually happening or was it all just a dream. She looked at the cup again and started to memorize everything about it. From it's shape, to the color, to the markings that Rize probably drew on. And it really looked good for an amateur work at least in Sharo's opinion. (Though she could be biased. Rize is her crush after all).
On one side of the cup there was a sunflower. On another side there was a dandelion. And even though Sharo had a lot of cups in her collection, she knew that from this point on Rize's gift was her favorite. For many reasons (not just because it came from Rize mind you. It is a really well done for a handiwork).
So Sharo put it on a special place at the shelf and stared at it for a long time. The blond girl couldn't wait to see how does Rize's cup looked like and what flowers did she chose for herself.
