Tamaki had never been good with people – especially with people who had too much energy. He knew he couldn’t keep up with them which made him extra anxious, and his stomach churn. And right now, he was in the presence of a person, who is the personification of that category.
”Good work today, kids,” Fat Gum said to him and Kirishima as they were standing in front of his desk, already in their school uniforms. Kirishima bowed, then spoke up – too loud for Tamaki’s liking.
”Thank you for having us, Fat Gum!” He thanked enthusiastically. Tamaki only nodded a bit, then turned around, and walked out of the office. Kirishima caught up to him when he was already stepped out of the agency. ”Senpai, wait for me!”
”W-what is it?” Tamaki stuttered, avoiding his eyes. Kirishima gulped a bit, not knowing how to react to his shyness – great!
”Well, I am quite hungry, so I thought we could have some meat buns on our way home?” His offer turned towards a question, catching Tamaki totally off guard.
”Why would someone like you want to spend more time with me than necessary?” He asked and Kirishima tilted his head. Tamaki sighed – he wanted nothing less than explaining. ”I mean, I’m shy, I have no confidence or much self-worth-”
”What are you talking about?! You’re one of the coolest people I have ever met!” The younger exclaimed, and Tamaki’s eyes widened in shock. ”You have problems, yes, but who didn’t? Your quirk is amazing, and I can see that you really want to help others.” Kirishima smiled up at him with the most blinding smile Tamaki’d ever seen from him. ”Those are more than enough reasons for me to think you’re cool!”
Tamaki turned away, feeling his eyes watering with an alarming speed. After he had gotten himself back together, he turned back to Kirishima with a tiny smile in the corner of his lips.
”M-meat buns d-didn’t sound th-that bad.”
