Work Text:

Plenitude, that's the word that could best describe the pure euphoria he was in. Just the cool feeling of the sheets against his skin, the delicious sensation of the arms of his lover around his waist. He was blizzed, not quite awake but not in his dreams anymore.

Blinking, he started to caress Yoongi’s hand, smiling at how soft his skin was.

Behind him, he could feel Yoongi shifting and sighing. He surely was awake for a long time; the little Hufflepuff wasn't a sleeper, contrary to Seokjin who could spend half his day snoozing away.

Seokjin began to play with Yoongi's fingers. For such a small man (don't tell Yoongi he thought that or he would sulk), he had long fingers and a large palm. From experience, his hands were the most perfect for visage massage and he knew every student envied him for having such a perfect and skilled boyfriend.

Still behind him, Yoongi started to climb his boyfriend like he was only a big plushie. To help him, Seokjin put himself on his back. His boyfriend hid his face into Seokjin's neck.

"Baby?" hummed Seokjin, "Something's wrong?"

He didn't mind snuggling with his boyfriend, he liked physical contact, but it often showed some sadness from the Hufflepuff.

"No," mumbled Yoongi.

Seokjin started to play with his hair, pulling some and messaging Yoongi's skull. "You know if you don't tell me anything, I can't help you."

"I know."

Seokjin knew he couldn't have anything more from the Hufflepuff for now, so he satisfied himself by massaging Yoongi's back. Yoongi really looked cute, with his two-piece pajama crossed white and yellow.

"I just feel like I'm always talking about it. At some point you'll get tired of me," eventually said Yoongi. His voice was low, neutral, unbothered but Seokjin knew far better. It was just Yoongi's defense, the way he was holding himself together. Sometimes, he wished he could tell Yoongi it was okay to cry, but he also knew it was useless: he had this sense of pride, this need to feel strong, master of the situation.

"You're right," replied Seokjin. "I could easily grow tired of the most intelligent, caring, beautiful, gentle, nice and hard-working boy who ever existed."

He felt Yoongi chuckle a bit before answering, "You're so cheesy, stop!"

"Even the most powerful spell in the world wouldn't make me stop loving you."

According to Yoongi's desperate attempts to dig deeper into Seokjin's neck, he made him flustered and Seokjin couldn't help but smile.

“So now baby, what’s wrong?”

Again, Yoongi sighed, looking reluctant to say more. Seokjin didn’t mind waiting, so he stayed still under the boy, now playing with the folds of his pajamas. If Yoongi wasn’t so lost in his reflections, he would scold him for how childish he was acting, pulling the folders in every way possible to see how the shadows and lights would work on the fabric.

He waited, and eventually, the sun was high in the sky, achieving to wake him up.

“They just… They made fun of me again.”

“Who is ‘they’?” asked Seokjin. He knew who ‘they’ were. Oh yes, he knew perfectly well, with how many times he had to fight them. But he also knew Yoongi wasn’t comfortable rambling and that asking questions, letting him reveal his torment piece by piece, was the best way to make him feel better.

“They… You know. The others. Chaeyeon, the Kim brothers, and some I don't know the names."

Seokjin cocked an eyebrow. All of those names belonged to Hufflepuff students. Really, he sometimes had a hard time figuring out how Hufflepuff was always affiliated with gentleness and caring.

Seokjin felt anger burn in him: he wanted to get up, to find those people and teach them a lesson. But for the sake of his boyfriend, he didn't move nor voiced his anger.

"Do you want to tell me what they said? If it makes you feel better."

Yoongi shifted and placed his face on Seokjin's torso. Like this, Seokjin could have easier access to the Hufflepuff student's neck and he happily began to caress it. On his side, Yoongi started to suck his finger; another thing some people made fun of. When Yoongi was stressed or sad, he would suck his finger—it brought him comfort, he once explained to Seokjin. Seokjin never saw this thing as other than endearing.

"It'ch jucht--" begun Yoongi before realizing he couldn’t really speak like that. With a pout, he had to keep it away from his mouth and instead started to play with the sheets.

"It's just," he started again, "I was taking a test. And you know, every time I take a test, I tend to get stressed, so I kind of talk to myself, you know? And I don't know why , but every time I'm feeling stressed, I talk in Parseltongue. I wish it'd be in another way. I just… I just wish I couldn't talk Parseltongue . "

It wasn't the first time Seokjin heard him saying stuff like that. 'I wish I wasn't a Hufflepuff'; 'I wish I fit Slytherin's traits better'; 'I wish I could make my parents proud.'. It hurt Seokjin everytime, because he couldn't stand to see his boyfriend hate any part of himself.

"Parseltongue is cool, tho," replied Seokjin. "Like, you can actually talk to animals? Do you realize how cool it is?"

Yoongi shrugged. "Yeah, it must be. When you're a Slytherin . I'm a shame to both the Slytherin and the Hufflepuff."

Seokjin bit his lips. He didn't know what to say; he already told him he wasn't a shame, he was an incredible and talented person—but he had to face it, Yoongi was permeable to it.

"It's just… I wish I could find a place. My place. Somewhere where everyone thinks I belong here."

"But baby, it's—" tried to argue Seokjin.

"It's what? Not how it works? Wrong because 'no, don't listen to them, you're perfect where you are'?" snapped Yoongi. He pushed himself away from Seokjin's body. "But what do you know, uh? What do you know about not belonging anywhere ?" He got up. "No one ever told you you were in the wrong House, your family never held anything against you because of your House!"

Seokjin hated how right Yoongi was. He indeed couldn't know what his boyfriend was feeling, he had always been good in his House.

"And then what else? What naïve thing? 'The place you belong is the place you choose'? I'm tired, okay, I'm fucking tired —"

Yoongi placed both hands in his mouth, visible shock and horror on his face. He started to speak Parseltongue without thinking about it.

"Baby—" tried to say Seokjin as he sat up, gesturing towards his boyfriend.

"No," interrupted Yoongi. "I don't want you near to me right now."

Seokjin knew it was his boyfriend's anger who was speaking, and that he only wanted Seokjin not to touch him because he hated looking so vulnerable. But even with this information in hand, he felt like tearing up because he couldn't touch Yoongi, and hug him, and protect him from the world, and just help him.

And he was aware of how right Yoongi's words were. All he could say was naïve things, giving him the illusion of comfort. That was all he could give but god, he wished he could offer more.

Yoongi leaned against the wall before falling on the floor, sobbing. Seokjin had to collect all his force to not wrap him into his arms; instead, he sat up on the floor, in front of him.

They stayed like that for a long time. Seokjin could hear all the other students waking up, going to eat, and even some coming back and playing noisy games, the room under the bedroom. He could hear laughs, happy screams, and some loud "hush". But what was filling up his ears was the uncontrollable cries coming from his boyfriend's lips.

He bit his lips. Carefully, like one does with a savage cat, Seokjin drew his hand near  Yoongi's head, hidden between his knees. Yoongi looked up.

"Can I touch you?"

Yoongi tried to clean up his face from drool and snot with his sleeve, but gave up before nodding.

Seokjin tried to keep his touch light to not overwhelm his boyfriend. Some stroking in his hair, a bit of gentle caress on his face.

"Baby, I'm sorry I don't know what to say. No, let me speak," added Seokjin, seeing Yoongi was already ready to reply. "Let me say what I want to say before, please."

"O—Okay," said Yoongi with a voice hoarse from the cries.

"So, I'm sorry, Yoongi, I don't know what to say. But I have two things which I think could help. First, yeah, you're the heir of the Slytherin family, yeah, everyone thought and wanted you to be a Slytherin. But you are a Hufflepuff. I think it's incredible, I think it suits you well, because you're so hard-working and nice, and everything this House stands for. But I can also understand you don't like it. I will not say you should like it, though I wish you would."

Seokjin paused for a second, letting his boyfriend digest his words.

"And I love the fact that you're a Parselmouth. I think it's rare and precious, and I actually think it suits your love for animals. And even if I don't get what you must feel, I can understand it."

Yoongi looked at his hands. Seokjin could feel how much he wanted to argue back but didn't let him.

"And—And I wish you find a place where you belong. If people weren't jerks, you should already have your safe space in your family and your House but you didn't and I think, I think it's okay. Not "okay", like "you should be okay with people not being nice to you" but more like…"

He bit his lips, trying to find the good words, the right sentence.

"It's okay to not have your place yet. I—I do sincerely think it is! I do think you will find a place one day, where you feel you fit perfectly. I'm sorry it's not now , but please, believe me that one day it will happen."

Seokjin finally felt like he had finished his explanations, and told all what he wanted. Maybe it wasn't great, maybe it wasn't the words Yoongi needed right now, maybe it was egoistic from him to do everything to be the one comforting his boyfriend. But he truly wanted to ease his mind.

"Okay," finally said Yoongi. "Okay, okay." He took a deep breath. "I don't know if it's all lies, but I want to believe you. Is that bad?"

"No, I don't think it is. Maybe I'm wrong. But if you and I believe in it strongly enough, it can turn into reality, right?"

"Right," nodded Yoongi. "You're right. I'm sorry for being so harsh to you earlier. I know you just try your best to comfort me and I'm not always easy."

"That's fine, baby. You have the right to have hard times, to want comfort, and sometimes to reject it. You have your issues as I have mine too. And I know sometimes, words aren't enough. But baby," Seokjin finally wrapped his arms around Yoongi, the boy sinking into Seokjin's neck with a deep sigh, "maybe you were harsh, and it maybe hurts me a little bit."

Yoongi clenched his fists into Seokjin's waist.

"But you were honest, and I sincerely prefer you to be true and maybe a bit too harsh than just agreeing with my words and feeling unwell for the rest of the day without saying a word."

And Seokjin meant it. Yeah, maybe he had been a bit hurt by his boyfriend's words, but he knew he didn’t mean it.

"I promise I'll try to be better," replied Yoongi. "Try to not get angry every time I'm hurt because you don't deserve my screams nor my mean words."

"That's fine baby, I swear," said Seokjin, kissing his boyfriend's hair. "Healing and finding your place is a long process, and it's okay to have a hard time, it's okay to sometimes be angry. I'm here to help you, okay?"

Yoongi nodded, sinking even deeper in Seokjin's arms and nuzzling his nose against his neck. "You smell good."

It made them laugh, how off-topic the remark was. The cries were over, and that was all that mattered for now.

"And what about eating breakfast?" offered Seokjin. "I bet you're hungry."

"I could eat a whole pumpkin."

"Ah, you and your sorcerer remarks!"

"Not my fault if Muggles don't have any imagination when it comes to style figures," argued Yoongi, kissing Seokjin's lips.

"But you love my Muggle expressions," replied Seokjin, taking his boyfriend's hand in his',  and leading him towards the door in order to go eat their breakfast.

And if, while going through the Great Hall, Seokjin made one of the Kim Brothers trip, then it's no one's problem.
