The neon light slowly blinked.
“Of sleep paralysis…”
“That’s right. Years in the field. If you need, you can check the references.”
“…huh…”
“Really an expert in this field. I tried not to make the CV overbearing but I have brought additional documentation with me if needed.”
“I see…”
“I truly am fan of your company. Great products, satisfied customers and open-minded working environment.”
“Thank you, here in DREAM-ON we take pride in it.”
“I would be great addition to the team and would love to help you move the company to the next step. I strongly believe in your vision and think that your products should have wider reach.”

“I was honestly touched by your hiring campaign ‘Tell us what you dream about’. Because, my biggest dream is that everybody would dream more.”

“I am looking forward to work in a team. I am very excited about the opportunity to talk to the colleagues on daily basis. Until now I worked mostly only directly one to one with the… uhm…”
“Clients?”
“Yes! Clients! But enough about me! There is no I in a team, but you can’t spell DREAM-ON without a demon!”
Short sound of the chalkboard scraping echoed of the glass walls of the room. Judging by the shape of the gape that should be the mouth it was a chuckle. Interesting…
“For how long you have been preparing this line?”
“Honestly since I have first seen your ad. So, did I get it?”
“I thought we only payed for social media campaign. I didn’t know demons had an Instagram accounts. No offense.”
“None taken. We usually don’t. I saw it at the …client’s place. But I am well educated in social media world. Not to brag, but one of my most stable clients is sort of a famous influencer. Lovely person, really, but their sleep pattern is just terrible. That is why I am here, I need people to dream better, more sustainably and more often!”
Another series of chills ran down his spine out of pure sympathy for that poor soul. Professionalism, Min! Professionalism! This is job interview, this is not about you, you don’t get to be judgemental! You are an HR employee!
“I see. I have to say I can see your passion for the job. Although I am not sure about the practical aspects of this employment. I suppose given your predisposition we could talk about freelancing consultant position?”
“By predisposition you mean?”
“The lack of physical body. So perhaps home office kind of deal?”
“Oh, I can get the body, that is not a problem! I just though I should show up to the first interview in this form given our history, you know, just to put foot in the door. I have read it helps when the employer knows you!”
“I am not an employer, I just do staffing and recruiting.” another shower of cold sweat hits his body.
“Well that is the half of the success. Amirite?” the grey mass produces limb stretched over the table in attempt for high five.
“So, the second interview will be also with the hiring manager. Do you have time on Monday, let’s say at two thirty?” the limb is still outstretched in his direction “And I am sorry, but I really cannot move.”
“I am sorry! I sometimes forget about the paralysis part of the deal. Okay, two thirty again on Monday sounds good.”
“Two thirty PM this time please”
The eye holes stretched wider “Current one should have been at two thirty PM?”
“Yes, but nevermind, it was a misunderstanding, I should have been more specific in the email. It happens from time to time.”
“Really?” the eye holes twinkled.
“No Jin, this was the first time I interviewed sleep paralysis demon for employment while being sleep paralyzed.”
“Oh well, there is always a first time for everything.” the eye hole winked at him.
