"Is that a wedding gift?"
Yes Yoongi, is that big-ass heart-shaped mint chocolate atrocity with initials of your ex, who has just gotten married and whose ceremony you'd missed because of the traffic, a wedding gift?
Yoongi wishes he could kick himself in the butt. Or that Jungkook would, because that man holding Hobi tight has to be Jeon Jungkook. He looks like he could yeet Yoongi to the Moon actually.
Yoongi tears his eyes from one groom - husband - to another and gulps. Hoseok is still frowning. That means Hoseok knows. Well, of course, he does, he isn't stupid. Yoongi opens his mouth again, just to get interrupted one more time. Luckily, because he has absolutely no idea what to say.
"Don't be stupid JK, it's for me!" exclaims the fifth man as he makes his way towards Yoongi, who is in one word: confused. "Yoongi-yah, you shouldn't," says the man - Kim Seokjin, Yoongi remembers that name very well - as he puts his arm around Yoongi's shoulders.Or: Yoongi is terrified of living for others, and Seokjin can't live for himself. There is a bit of travelling and staying, both for things and people, and a lot of dumb coincidences.

It becomes even more complicated when things start to become tense between the two championship contenders, and Arthur has to fight to keep his head in the race.

Merlin parts the orange in two when he’s finished peeling. The juice streams over his wrist and upper arm, and he licks it off absentmindedly before he hands over one half to Arthur. Arthur hesitates for a moment, something strange flickering over his expression before he takes his part.
“They’re best shared,” Merlin tells him, and puts a slice to his lips.
Or: When PhD student Merlin Wyllt flies to a tiny, faraway Italian town for a summer job with Professor Ygraine du Bois, he finds himself unexpectedly at odds with her son, Arthur.
But not only oranges blossom in summer, and Merlin finds that he and Arthur have a lot to learn from—and about—one another.

“We have a system for borrowing books, you know,” the librarian says. Merlin, his name tag reads. There’s a little smiley face behind his name, and Merlin leans over the counter to take the book out of Arthur’s hands. Arthur stares back, stone-faced, as Merlin looks at the cover. “I hope you enjoyed it, at least, if you went to all the trouble of stealing it.”
“I don’t—” Arthur says, and presses his lips together. “It was fine, I suppose. If you like that sort of thing.”
Merlin snorts. “What’s that, gay people?”
Or: When Arthur comes out to his father, he loses everything. And then he meets a messy-haired librarian, and learns that there’s so much he never had.

Summary
When he tells people that he is a ghost hunter, people tend to be far more impressed than they ought to be, really.
Usually, really, the ghosts aren’t malicious. They are just drifting; they are scared, alone, in turn waiting for what comes next and trying to hold onto their long-lost life. They need someone to be brave for, and Merlin is content to be that person.
Not this ghost, though. This ghost screams bloody murder at Merlin’s attempt to help him move on to the afterlife.
“I have been here for a thousand years,” the ghost tells him. He pouts, and it makes his otherwise proud face look a bit ridiculous. “I don’t see why I should leave. I think you should leave.”
Or: Merlin is a ghost hunter. Arthur is a ghost. There really shouldn't be anything more to it, but Arthur's inability to move on makes Merlin's job a tad harder than it ought to be. Oh, and then there's the part where he's falling in love with a thousand-year-old ghost who keeps insulting him.

“Right,” Arthur mutters. “The interviews went rather well, I think. Although I’m not sure why you care, since you’re so unwilling to be my Court Sorcerer.”
“So odd that I’m taking an interest in the future of England, even if I’m not personally interested in the position,” Merlin says, and Arthur has the grace to look slightly abashed.
Or: Prince Arthur needs to find a new Court Sorcerer in the halls of Albion University. Merlin just wants to apply to a PhD in Magical Neo-Linguistics without being told that his destiny is to be by His Royal Horrendousness' side.
Of course, destiny doesn't take no for an answer.
