Work Text:
At the moment, you were working on homework from your English class, Mic having assigned an easy essay for the week. It was something simple. Simpler than what was storming your way, you not having the slightest clue.
Suddenly, your door swung open, slamming into the wall. Luckily, a hole wasn’t put into it by the force. The loud noise had caused you to jump, spinning in your chair with wide eyes.
Red eyes stared into yours, heavy breaths heaving out of weakened lungs as they stood in the doorway, hand still on the door. It took you a minute to actually be able to say something.
“Bakugō... what is it? What’s wrong?”
Standing up, he watched him as he continues to stand there. You could see him thinking, eyes squinting as his eyes slightly clouded. Before you knew it, he sped towards you before pulling you into his arms, you freezing in place before gently wrapping your arms around him.
“Hey... Bakugō, c’mon. What is it..?”
Rubbing his back, you waited for a response. He continued to stay silent, and you frowned, looking at the side of his head. And, sighing, you held him tighter and shoved your face into his shoulder.
“You really are selfish sometimes...”
You whispered, still frowning. You then felt his grip on you tighten, slowly becoming more and more painful. And yet, you didn’t make a noise until you felt your lungs start to lose air.
“Ba... Bakugō.. let go... can’t.. breathe..!”
His grip didn’t loosen as you two stood there, but it did stop tightening around you. Gently tapping at his shoulder, you tried to pull away, it still being hard to breathe.
“Bakugō..! Let go..!”
Nothing.
“Bakugō..!”
Not even a grunt.
“Dammit, Katsuki, let go!”
Now that made him freeze. Slowly, just like before, his grip loosened, and you gasped as you were able to get in some air. Then, sighing again, you pulled away from him and tilted his head up.
“Now tell me, what the hell is going-... on...?”
Tears streamed down his face, cheeks red and nose runny as his lips trembled. You stood there for a moment, froze in shock. Then, carefully, you wrapped your arms around him again, frowning to yourself. You were silent.
You had no clue why he was upset, and so you just pulled him closer. Holding him against you, he took this as a sigh to press closer again, sniffling as he held on tight once more.
Saying nothing else, you let him cry on your shoulder, his sobs silent as he held on to the back of your shirt.
You two stood there for a while until you felt Bakugō’s body slowly go limp. Holding his weight in your arms, you gave a soft grunt as you pulled him to your bed, knowing that he’d either fallen asleep, or had just given up on standing.
Gently, you laid him down, curling up next to him once you got the change. He ended up immediately latching onto you again, causing you to blink in surprise before slowly smiling. It wasn’t a smile because of what he was going through, oh my goodness, no. It was a smile that showed you realized how much you could help him with things.
“Don’t make me lay here for too long.. I have homework to work on.”
He ended up groaning at you, causing you to let out a very light giggle. Holding him closer, you gently pressed your face into his hair and held him closer.
“Stay as long as you need.. I’m right here.. always..”
