Outlaws and Freaks

Summary:

Dabi breaks you out of jail on Halloween night.

Notes:

This idea came to me one night and like always, it was too good to pass on writing a story for it lmao. Besides, Dabi would definitely break someone out of jail just for the shits and giggles. Please enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“Can’t believe I’m stuck in this place on Halloween.”

Boom!

You jolt up from your bed. High pitch screams echo outside the room before everything falls silent. Your curiosity soars, but you don’t move from your spot. A soft beep rings from the metal brace around your neck and falls off.

The door slams open—

“Sup, babe!” Dabi flashes a crooked smirk at you. The flames in his eyes burn more wild than ever as he grips the doorframe. “I’m breaking you out.”

“Took you long enough.”

You toss the neck brace aside like trash; it no longer holds you back. Quick strides reach Dabi in seconds, and you crash your lips on him. Damn, you forgot how good he tastes—like a refreshing piece of Andes chocolate mint candy. Out of habit, you bite his lower lip and relish hearing the pleased grunt trapped in Dabi’s throat. You pull back with a taunting grin.

“Just a small preview for what’s in store later on.”

“I don’t know…” Dabi looks at the beige walls and reveals a wolfish smile. “Would be kinda hot doing it in a jail cell.”

“Fuck no, I wanna leave,” you snort while slipping past him. “Grab some handcuffs instead. They’ll come in handy the next time we play. Now let’s go.”

Dabi rolls his eyes but swipes a pair from an unconscious guard. Other prisoners peek through their small windows and beg to be set free too. Soon the hallway glows a deep red as an alarm blares from above; there’s no time to wait. Dabi yanks your arm and soon leads the way through the dizzying maze.

Miraculously, you both escape unscathed. The sweet smell of freedom hits your nose like a wave crashing against the empty beach shore. You smile to yourself; it sure feels great to stretch your legs beyond the dull jail cell. However, you’re not out of the danger zone yet. Dabi realizes this and cocks his head down a shady alley.

Loud music booms around the corner. You see some people stagger out with wrinkled costumes and flushed faces. The huge bouncer merely shakes his head in pity; he’s probably seen worse moments than this, especially since it’s Halloween night.

“Wait a sec, it’s a Halloween party!” you excitedly squeeze Dabi’s arm like a kid who hit the trick-or-treat jackpot. “You wanna chill here for a while?”

“I’m always down for a good time.”

“Sweet, let’s go!”

This time, you lead the way with eager steps. The bored bouncer peeks over his black shades and does a quick once over at you both. With a confused look, he asks, “What are you two supposed to be?”

You glance down at your clothes—they’re your ugly navy jail jumpsuit. The baggy outfit engulfs your frame, and you stretch the fabric in disgust. A serial number is stitched on your chest while the prison’s logo appears on your right shoulder. Hmmm, I can make this work, you think with a delightful smile.

“I’m an escaped convict.” You snatch the handcuffs sticking out of Dabi’s pocket and wiggle it in front of the bouncer. “He was just holding these babies for me.”

“And you?”

“A messed up freak,” Dabi says without missing a beat.

“Alrighty then.”

The bouncer lifts the red velvet rope, and you go ahead first; Dabi follows shortly behind you. Once out of the man’s earshot, you snort, “Dressed up as a messed up freak?”

“It fits,” Dabi shrugs and hits you with a small smirk. “Besides, you don’t seem to mind.”

“You’re right,” you shake the handcuffs with a feral smile. A laugh echoes down the narrow hallway when Dabi grips your hips with steel hands. He hungrily licks his lips just as your face hovers dangerously close to his. You then breathe out, “And I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

“Good, ‘cause this freak is ready to play.”
