Chapter Text
"So, what do you have to say in your defense, Midoriya-san?"
The girl couldn't help but silently sniff and cry as both the principal and the guy sitting next to her looked at her angrily.
She had been through this situation enough times to know that no matter what she did, and no matter what she said, everybody would still be against her.
So instead, she kept crying. If she was gonna get unfairly screwed over, might as well try to relieve the pain the only way she knew.
"Well, if you have nothing to say in your defense, then I take it you're reasonable enough to take your punishment," the principal stated sternly as he folded his arms. "You're suspended for a week, Midoriya-san."
Midoriya wiped off her tears and sniffed. "Un... Understood..."
"That better be true, Midoriya-san. I can't help you forever, you know?"
Not like he's been of help before.
"Get outta here."
Midoriya stood up, and clutching her shoulder, she walked out the door, the man and the guy glaring at her as she left.
Once she was out, she began walking towards the exit, hoping that maybe, once she arrived home, this terrible day would start to brighten up.
"Well, look who we have here."
She should've known better than to hope for that.
Midoriya paused and turned around, meeting face-to-face with Katsuki Bakugou, her current bully and tormentor, though he had deluded himself to believe he was a "Hero" trying set her "Villainy" straight.
At least, she hoped he was deluded.
"I heard from Tsubasa-kun you decided to bully him again, Villain!"
Midoriya eyed her shoulder, then the fat kid with wings next to Bakugou, who smirked at her as she glared at him, but remained quiet.
"Cat's got your tongue?" Bakugou pounded his fists. "You should've thought better than to hunt an innocent boy on my watch!"
Midoriya rolled her eyes and began walking away. She had better things to do than deal with Bakugou's egotistical ramblings-
"Get back here, Villain!"
A single explosion was all that was needed for Midoriya's "danger" sense to go off: despite her shoulder being injured, she aimed her left arm forward, and her hand released a stream of turquoise liquid that morphed in the shape of a skate, the girl quickly getting on it and riding away from the pursuing hero wannabe.
"Hey, you can't use your Quirk in public!"
Isn't that what he was doing, too!?
Regardless, Midoriya kept driving forward, steering the solid liquid skate whenever she was about to crash into something or someone.
Eventually, she entered a dark alley, Bakugou still following right behind her...
But only Bakugou came out the other end.
"Huh?! Goddammit, I lost her again!"
Now that she was out of the danger zone, sort of, Midoriya kept walking to her home, praying that nothing else happened until she reached her house.
She walked across the street, trying her best to ignore the people's looks of distrusts as they audibly murmured to themselves:
"Hey, isn't that the girl that was born from that Villain doing "that" to a civillian?"
"She's a lot prettier than I imagined. Especially considering her father's quite sore on the eyes."
"Yeah, that's about all she's got going for her. People say she's a troublemaker extraordinaire."
"Not only that, but despite her Quirk being so weak, she keeps picking fights with people vastly stronger than her!"
"Geez, if that's the case, then how is she still alive?"
She wanted to tell them to shut up. She really did. But the only thing she's learned about doing that is that it only gets her in trouble. So she remained quiet and kept walking.
"Hey, kid."
Midoriya stopped, and felt tempted to face the person who said that. However, it didn't take long before she grew exasperated.
It was a double-edged sword: if she didn't turn to face the person, it would only reinforce the idea that she was "disobedient" and a "troublemaker" that most people just loved to tell her.
But if she did face the person, then at best, she'd be harassed about how her Quirk worked and how did it feel to be the child of a Villain, and at worst, they'd probably try to get her arrested in order to "bask in the glory" of catching "a Villain in the making."
Because that's how society worked, apparently.
"I couldn't help but notice you're grabbing your shoulder," the voice kept speaking, as if Midoriya wasn't already privy of their false sympathy. "Does it hurt?"
Midoriya didn't respond. She simply waited for the person, whoever they were, to lose interest and walk away, like everybody else.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen: not only did the person remain, but they even took out a first aid kit and showed it right on her face.
Midoriya finally caved in and looked at the person... And she was surprised at seeing someone who looked more tired than her.
He was a slightly pale man with black unkempt hair, wearing a black uniform that covered most of his body, except for his hands and face.
"I'm assuming wherever you went, you didn't get your shoulder properly bandaged, right?" he asked as he took out some tape. "If you leave it as is, it'll never get better."
The man edged closer to Midoriya, who jumped and leaned back slightly, a disturbed expression on her face.
"What? It's just hospital tape; you wrap it around the injured area to keep it in place so it can heal faster."
So, wait, she didn't need to "wait it out" like Bakugou said? She had a feeling he wasn't being helpful to her, but damn.
Nevertheless, by the time Midoriya returned to reality, the man had already bandaged her shoulder... And it actually did feel a little better.
Not by much, obviously, but the pain was much more bearable.
Midoriya eyed her bandaged shoulder, and turned to the man, who promptly asked:
"This is the part where you thank me. Or at the very least, say something."
Midoriya remained silent. She knew better than to fall for those verbal traps.
So she gave the man a thumbs up.
"I guess that'll do," he sighed. "Well, be on your way then. Sorry for taking some of your time."
Midoriya shook her head and waved her hand before walking past the man, heading straight for her home as the man stayed behind and watched her leave.
"Hey, dude, you have any idea what you just did?"
"That was the child of a Villain! A WEDLOCKED child, to boot!"
The man rolled his eyes. He'd probably heard all those statements before.
"I'm home."
A small, greenhaired woman stopped what she was doing and received her daughter at the door.
"Welcome home, Haruka," she said calmly. "So... How was it today?"
Midoriya went back to her silence, which was all the woman needed.
"C-Come, I've prepared lunch."
The duo sat at the table and began eating the selection of food in front of them, Midoriya pausing between each bite as the woman noticed something:
"Hey, Haruka, your shoulder... Who bandaged it?"
Midoriya paused, looked at the woman, then back to her food.
"A decent man bandaged it for me."
The woman frowned. "A decent man?"
"Yes. A decent man."
The woman hummed in thought until she heard the door being knocked. She got up, walked to and opened it...
And right outside was a face Midoriya recognized.
"Oh, it's the decent man."
"So you can talk," the man said, glancing at Midoriya before turning to the woman. "Are you her mother?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm Inko Midoriya," the woman stammered. "And who might you be?"
"I'm Eraserhead, an Underground Hero," the man answered bluntly. "I came here because, with your permission, I'd like to train your daughter."
Midoriya dropped her utensil, slowly turning to the man as he and her mother stared at her, until she exclaimed:
"What?!"
Haruka Midoriya! Quirk: Slurry Princess! Her forearms and forelegs are made of slurry, a mix of solids that is denser than water and suspended in liquid! She can also freely control any mixture of liquids, like sludge, water, juice, and so on!
