“If one fake spider makes it anywhere near me while you are decorating, I swear I will punch you.”
Jimin snickers, arms laden with cobweb fuzz; Taehyung grins at him, nudging Jungkook with his foot. The three of them stand in front of Hoseok, the usually happy man’s mouth pulled down in a scowl. Jungkook winks at him, a couple of fake skeletons piled in his arms.
“Ah, hyung, so little faith,” Taehyung murmurs, slinking forward, “we’re just gonna decorate—”
Hoseok sticks his foot out, pressing it into Taehyung’s stomach. He lets out a small oof, fingers tickling the exposed skin of Hoseok’s ankle. Crossing his arms, Hoseok purses his lips together, trying not to laugh. Taehyung’s grin grows as Jimin and Jungkook snicker behind him.
“I mean it,” Hoseok garbles out, mouth twitching, body shivering, “no spiders.”
Sighing, Taehyung nods, patting Hoseok’s calf; the older man drops his foot, nodding in satisfaction. He turns towards the other two, Jimin smiling sweetly at him. He gives a small nod, eyes twinkling. Hoseok smiles at him before turning to Jungkook, eyebrow raised. Jungkook smirks at him.
“Kook-ah,” Hoseok warns, “you promise?”
Jungkook nods, hair flopping. Hoseok narrows his eyes at the trio, but nods. He moves towards the living room, flopping on top of a sleeping Yoongi. The older man starts groaning, Hoseok laughing on top of him; the three youngest turn towards each other, a mischievous expression on Jungkook’s face.
“You wanna…?”
Taehyung agrees immediately, taking one of the skeletons from his arms. Jimin sighs, but there’s a smile on his face; Jungkook whoops, shaking the skeletons in excitement. The three move towards Jungkook’s room, the youngest dumping the skeletons on his bed haphazardly. Taehyung gently places his down, patting it on the head; Jimin snorts, still holding the fake cobwebs.
Jungkook drags them towards Hoseok’s room, Jimin pushing some of his things out of the way once they enter. Taehyung lays on Jimin’s bed, stretching out enticingly—Jimin eyes him, pouting.
“Can I cuddle Taehyung?” he asks, turning to look at Jungkook.
The younger man is staring at Hoseok’s bed, arms crossed and head tilted in contemplation. He nods after a moment, turning to take the cobwebs from Jimin’s arms.
“Yeah, go nuts, hyung.”
Jimin squeals, immediately wrapping himself in Taehyung’s arms. The two snuggle together, watching Jungkook as he starts arranging their hyung’s bedding and side table; he places and replaces Hoseok’s pillows, humming to himself as he wraps them in the cobweb material. Hooking his chin over Jimin’s shoulder, Taehyung calls out a few suggestions.
“Maybe a thinner layer over his sheets? How about some stretching from the lamp to the bedpost, or—oh, what if we put some from the ceiling dragging down—”
Jimin yawns, face scrunching cutely; Taehyung coos, attention immediately shifting. He pokes at Jimin’s cheeks, giggling as the shorter man snaps his teeth at Taehyung’s fingers. Jungkook ignores them, shuffling a few more things on Hoseok’s bed. Once he’s satisfied, he grabs the small bag of fake spiders that came with the webbing—ripping it open, he starts dotting them on the bits of exposed cobweb.
Happy with how it looks, Jungkook joins the cuddle pile, worming his way between the two men; Taehyung laughs, smacking a kiss on the youngest’s eyebrow. Jimin gives him a small smile, rubbing his nose along Jungkook’s hairline. The three start to doze off, only waking when they hear the front door slam.
“Hyungs are home,” Taehyung murmurs, lips smacking as he pulls away.
Jimin snuggles into Jungkook’s back, moaning sadly as the maknae scoots forward, taking away the warmth.
“But I want cuddles,” Jimin whines, blinking up at the others blearily.
Scooping the shorter man up, Taehyung lets him lean on his chest, patting his hair; Jungkook straightens a blanket on Hoseok’s bed, a small grin on his face.
“Hopefully he’ll find it soon,” he mutters, ushering the other two out of the room.
Dinner that night is loud and lively, everyone crowding around the television as they watch scary movies. Hoseok and Jin are doing fairly well, considering how quick they are to startle—Jungkook is watching Hoseok like a hawk, waiting for the older man to head off to bed. So far, no one shows any signs of sleepiness except Yoongi—his head is drooping onto Namjoon’s shoulder, letting out a jaw-cracking yawn.
“Yah, Jungkookie, the decorations look nice,” Jin calls out, flicking his chin towards the walls.
Flushing at the praise, Jungkook shoves a handful of food in his mouth. Jimin grins at him from the ground, lying on his stomach as he watches the television; Taehyung is sprawled out next to him, playing with his hair. And Hoseok…
“You did a good job,” Hoseok admits, the pout on his face shifting to a smile.
Jungkook’s flush grows darker, happy—he almost feels bad about Hoseok’s bed. Almost.
“Thanks, hyungs,” he mumbles out, hiding his face in Jin’s shoulder as he pulls him over.
The others gently tease him, continuing their movie marathon; after an hour or so, Yoongi is passed out on the couch, Jimin nodding off in front of it. Jungkook figures it’s only a matter of time, now; if Jimin and Taehyung go to bed first—and they will go to bed together, they’re practically joined at the hip—Hoseok won’t turn the room light on when he goes to bed. Eyes darting towards his tired hyung, Jungkook bites his lip in anticipation as he stands.
“…’M sleepy,” Jimin mumbles, tugging Taehyung up with him, “we’re going to bed.”
Namjoon snorts at them, smiling fondly as Taehyung wraps his arms around the shorter man. The two stumble into Jimin’s room, the others calling gentle ‘goodnight’s after them. Jungkook is practically vibrating in his seat, hands gripping his knees tightly. Hoseok is yawning, hand up to his mouth to cover it. Namjoon is picking up the remnants of their dinner, lumbering into the kitchen to hand them to Jin, the eldest washing dishes quietly. It’s the perfect moment.
“Are you going to bed, Hobi-hyung?”
Hoseok turns towards him, his movements lethargic. He blinks a few times, lips smacking a few times. He rubs a knuckle into his eyes, nodding after a few moments. He crawls towards Jungkook, pressing a messy kiss to his lips.
“Night, Kookie,” he whispers, slowly getting up.
Jungkook hurries to the couch, prodding Yoongi. The sleeping man groans, cracking an eye open to glare at the interruption. His gazes softens when it lands on Jungkook, a questioning noise leaving his mouth.
“…Kook-ah?”
“Hyung,” Jungkook whispers fiercely, “hyung, let me up there.”
Yoongi blinks at him.
“You woke me up. To ask for snuggles.”
“Hyung, please!”
Groaning, Yoongi opens his arms, beckoning the younger in. Grinning, Jungkook latches onto the older man, shuffling and shifting until he’s between the couch and Yoongi. The older man lets out a weary sigh, tucking his nose into Jungkook’s throat. He quickly falls back asleep, arms wrapped around Jungkook’s waist; Jungkook relaxes in his hold, but only just. His attention is on the hallway, watching carefully as Hoseok shuffles from the kitchen (he always drinks a glass of water before bed—something about his skin or something) towards his room.
Slowly, Hoseok enters his bedroom, the door cracked open just enough for Jungkook to see he’s left the light off. Jungkook lets his eyes slip shut, feigning sleep as Namjoon and Jin finish washing the dishes in the kitchen; they tip-toe past him and Yoongi, Jin cooing softly. Jungkook can feel a blanket being draped over their bodies; he grins into Yoongi’s hair, curling around him a little tighter.
It grows quiet in the apartment, only ambient sounds and the soft puffs of Yoongi’s breath on Jungkook’s skin audible. Actually falling asleep a bit, Jungkook’s eyes shoot open when he hears a blood-curdling scream. Yoongi flails against him, an unattractive snort passing through his mouth; Jin’s door slams open, the man’s hair pulled into a pigtail and a mud mask on his face as he hurries out.
“Oh my god! What the fuck—hyung, Jin-hyung!”
Jungkook tightens his grip on Yoongi, keeping the half-awake man on the couch. He makes a noise, deciding the commotion isn’t worth it—he falls back asleep, grumbling cutely as he tightens his grip on Jungkook. Jungkook is shaking slightly with laughter, watching everything unfold—Jin rushes into Jimin and Hoseok’s bedroom, Namjoon bumbling after him with his pants half off. The bedroom light flicks on, Jin’s loud and squeaky laughter quickly filling the apartment.
Jungkook grins, nostrils flaring as he keeps in his laughter. He can hear Taehyung and Jimin laughing, Namjoon saying something low and amused.
“Jeon Jungkook!”
Snickering, Jungkook tries to smooth out his expression; Hoseok comes stomping out of his room a few seconds later, expression murderous. His face is a blotchy red, the fake cobwebs from his bed tangled around his body. His chest is heaving as he stares down at Jungkook and Yoongi, lips thinning in displeasure.
“Jeon Jungkook,” he hisses, taking a step forward, “you are such a fucking snake.”
Jungkook fakes a yawn, smacking his lips. He peeks up at Hoseok innocently, eyes wide.
“Ah, hyung, what happened?”
Hoseok scoffs, crossing his arms to restrain himself.
“You know what happened, you little shit. I hate you.”
Jungkook pouts, eyes darting towards Jin and Namjoon as they shuffle out of Hoseok’s room, arms laden with the remaining cobwebs. Jin’s shoulders are shaking with muffled laughter.
“But hyung, I’ve been here the whole time with Yoongi-hyung!”
Hoseok growls, glaring down at him. After a few moments, Jungkook grins, quickly detangling himself from Yoongi. The older man lets out a sigh, still asleep; he curls in on himself, the blanket clutched tightly in his hands. Hoseok reaches out to smack Jungkook’s arm, scowl etched on his face; snickering, Jungkook darts forward, wrapping his arms around Hoseok’s middle and lifting.
The apartment fills with Hoseok’s shrieks, the muffled sound of laughter coming from the different bedrooms; walking towards his own bedroom, Jungkook grins as Hoseok smacks at his back.
“Jeon Jungkook, you absolute shit, respect your hyung and put me down—”
