Nao hummed quietly to herself as she spread paint over her canvas in gentle strokes. Every now and then, she would look up to see how Sara was doing. Each time she looked at her, she had the same concentrated expression on her face. It was adorable.

“Nao, I finished! Check it out,” the ginger called out to her girlfriend.
The redhead perked up, “Oh great! Lemme see,” she got up out of her stool, and went over to see how Sara’s painting had turned out. As her eyes fell onto her girlfriend’s piece, she had to stifle a laugh.
On the canvas were two stick figures. One with a smudged red stain, which Nao assumed was hair, and the other with a light brown streak coming off the circle head. Surrounding the stick figures were a bunch of messy hearts in varying colors.
Sara seemed very proud of the painting though. She gave Nao a bright smile. The art student returned the smile, trying to make it as genuine as possible. “It’s beautiful, Sara. You did a great job!” she wrapped her arms around the ginger’s waist and kissed her gently on the cheek. The highschooler smiled even wider, “Thanks!”
Nao leaned her head on Sara’s shoulder, “Hm.. who are the people supposed to be though? I can’t quite tell.” she asked softly. Sara frowned slightly, “Me and you, obviously,” she pointed at the figure with the red smudge on it’s head. “See? It looks just like you, with your fluffy hair!” The redhead giggled, “It sure does.”
“Well, what about your painting? Can I see it?” Sara asked with an eager smile. Nao rubbed her arm, “Oh, um. I’m not done yet. Can I just wait and show you when it’s finished?” she mumbled shyly. The ginger nodded, “Oh, yeah, of course! Anyways, I’m hungry so I think I’m gonna order take-out or something. Sound good?” Sara asked as she made her way to the door. The redhead smiled warmly and nodded, “Yeah! Sounds great.” She called out to her girlfriend, who was now leaving the room.
Nao sighed as she sat back down on the stool in front of her painting. She stared silently at the piece in front of her. It was already finished, not a single thing was left to be done. The only reason she had told the ginger that painting wasn’t finished was because she was nervous to show it to her. Nao was fairly confident in her skills as an artist, but she still got very bad butterflies before showing her pieces to people she loved, especially her girlfriend.. This time was even more nerve-racking, because the model of her painting was none other than Sara herself.
Nao sat in silence for a few minutes thinking quietly to herself. After a while she finally stood up and gathered all the courage she could.
“Alright, Sara! I’m finished!”
