Chapter 1: The Dreamer.

Chapter Text

A sleep-deprived Y/n L/n faced a dilemma.

She wasn't exactly sure when it all started, but her dreams during stormy days or just heavy rainy days were a tad bit eccentric.

Eccentric in the sense that h/c haired woman couldn't quite comprehend why she dreamt of such strange dreams. Her dreams consisted of her being in a particular time period, encountering particular individuals more often than not. With the way houses were built and people wore and acted about, she'd guess that the 'current' era was feudal Japan. They were all a far cry from the present, but Y/n learned to take things in stride when in dreams, and she did quite enjoy the time spent leisurely strolling through villages and the old cities. It was an overall interesting experience for dreams.

Yet, here she is in her bedroom, chucking energy drink after energy drink in fear of falling asleep.

It was becoming far too frequent-the dreams. She was slowly finding herself constantly in that 'era' along with those certain individuals.

They were all unique men. All so rich with personalities and backstories, and most she had developed a delicate friendship with.

She had encountered them at their worsts, when their stares were far too vacant or their bodies too bloody and wounded for young men their age. They resembled demons when they were soaked in the blood of their enemies as they skillfully cut one life after the other. They were all feared, and rightfully so. All of them faced adversities that required them to be out of normal people's reach, making them unapproachable or simply too perfect looking to be deemed as one that could ever be in need of help.

However, Y/n was different.

She wasn't their people, not one from their era, and one that held different mannerisms compared to most of those from the Sengoku period.

She didn't act within their expectations, and only did as she thought was right.

To approach them and offer them help.

Little acts of kindness, reminding them of their humanity. Even just small bantering, offering distraction to the darkness that threatens to swallow them on a daily basis.

They were men burdened with heavy responsibilities, even if she wasn't fully aware of their lives, she knew just as much from what she's seen.

It was strange, to be so attentive to the emotional needs of figures from her dreams, but Y/n continued to help regardless.

It was a dream, they were all men her subconscious mind somehow manifested. They held no real threat to her, and this spurs her on to be bold with her approach-having very little sense of self-preservation at the presence of dangerous individuals.

She looks down at the opened notebook beside her, its contents being that of the rough summary of her dreams over the years. It helped lessened the disbelief in her as she found no other way to cope other than to dote down her questionable dreams. Each page held a different name and a different event that happened with that figure. It used to be mostly empty, yet-

The dreams were becoming far too frequent with the terrible weather. Hence the lack of sleep on the girl's part.

Y/n's dreams were slowly becoming longer, and she could no longer seem to wake up as quickly as the girl would prefer to at will.....It was proving to take a toll on her being. Dreams weren't supposed to have this much impact on one's health, and the h/c haired female was determined to focus on the present instead of fictional men her ever-unpredictable brain produces.

Her gaze returns to the notebook, seeing the name on the current page.

And instantly, her first 'meeting' with him flashes in her mind.
