To say that Bakugou was a completely different breed of sorcerer was to put it lightly. He was a complete anomaly even among the magical community. Absolutely terrifying in his complete magical form and a complete loner, he only had one person whom he could even call a friend, and he hated him.
Bakugou angrily used his bone-plated knife to chop away the vines that were blocking his way. He had a mission from the council, and he could not fail. He had to be the first-ever sorcerer to kill a dragon since All Might lost his powers. It couldn't be Deku since he started breaking all his bones from every single spell he cast and there were no healthy people left.
He stared at the knife, keeping his eyes away from the engraving. He would absolutely not miss that idiot on his mission. "Who asked him to go and break all his bones after becoming a sorcerer out of nowhere? Not me that's for sure."
BOOM!!!!
A roar so loud that it shook the very skies, made mere mortals cower in fear. An enormous red hulking dragon was headed... right for him?! What the fuck?? He was in a forest covered from head to toe in dirt. How the fuck did the dragon spot him from so far away?! He scrunched his eyes closed. He knew he was strong, but dragons were literal gods. How the fuck was he supposed to defeat one?
He was not ready. He was going to die. He was going to become dragon chow when dragons were supposedly extinct except for two. He was still thinking about all his previous mistakes and asking for mercy when he felt something vast and scaly nudge against him. He opened one eye to see the dragon nudging him? It pushed against him looking for something.
"This is my chance! I need to attack it when it's at its weakest." He gripped the bone hilt tighter and raised the knife and brought it down hard on the dragon's nose. The scales were supposed to be the softest on the nose but the blade just bounced harmlessly off. The dragon's eyes dilated and then narrowed down on him. Bakugou barely had time to react until the dragon had pounced on him, pinning him down to the floor and rendering him helpless.

Kirishima was flying around, looking for his father. "Where the hell did he go? I can't smell him anywhere?" That was when he picked up a foreign scent. One of smoked caramel and spices. One that definitely did not belong in the forest. He tucked his wings in and dropped, unfurling his wings right before he hit the trees and perched himself on top of the ley tree. He and his father were meant to protect that tree with their lives until they found a suitable sorcerer or witch to give the power to. His father was the one with the real power, but he would perish as the power got transferred. That was why his last wish was for Kirishima to be the familiar of the chosen sorcerer for company. He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he almost didn't notice the figure cutting through the vines, heading straight for the ley tree.
He dived from the tree, twisting and turning through the vines expertly as he went and landed in front of the intruder. Looks can be deceiving as Kirishima looked terrifying all the time. Still, in reality, all he wanted was to be a familiar of someone strong and manly. "What was I expecting?" he thought bitterly as he got attacked by a bone knife. One that had the same scent as his father and a sorcerer mixed together. Wait, that was no sorcerer. The magic he smelled on the foreign scent that mingled with his fathers was the exact same as the Ley Tree. And no matter how much time his father spent at the Ley Tree, his scent would always overpower the Ley Tree, so something else was going on here. He pounced on the sorcerer before leaning down to check for the smell of Ley Tree magic on him. Satisfied when he didn't smell Ley Tree magic on him, he crawled away and lowered his head in submission. Humans did that as a sign of respect, right? He waited patiently for the sorcerer to accept his apology.

Bakugou was ready to get his face eaten off when the dragon pounced on him, but it only sniffed him lightly before bouncing back and lowering its head. He stared at the dragon is mild confusion but mostly in terror as it just stayed there. "Is this some weird-ass ritual dragons do before eating someone? It's pretty fucking dumb if you ask me!" He yelled out, trying to get its attention back to him. He expected the dragon to roar and lash out at him but what he didn't expect was for the dragon to drop it's head down in submission and let out a whine. That was not normal dragon behaviour according to the books, but they were a couple millennia outdated. He hesitantly brought his hand out to touch the dragon's nose. "What was I thinking?" he screamed to himself internally as he squeezed his eyes shut and waited for his hand to be eaten. He felt the dragon's nose gently nudge his hand, and he felt an electric shock zing up his arm at the contact. He nearly snatched his hand back in shock, but he kept it there so that he wouldn't startle it.
He gently moved his hand down and started to scratch him under the neck. The dragon went utterly limp and collapsed on the ground, purring happily. Bakugou grinned. "You're not scary at all. You're just a big old softie. Hm, what should I name you? Lord Explosion Murder?"
He snorted when the dragon perked up at the prospect of being named but then narrowed his eyes in disgust at the nickname. "Well, then smarty fucking pants. What do you want me to call you? Maybe I'll just call you Rocky after how fucking sharp and hard your scales are." He smiled softly at how the dragon's eyes lit up at the nickname. "Rocky it is then. Should have guessed that you would like a cute nickname too."

Kirishima waited patiently for the sorcerer to accept him so when he put his hand out, he went and nudged it slightly as a sign of acceptance. What he wasn't expecting was the shock he would feel all down to his bone. He may be young compared to his father, but even he knew what this feeling was. It was the feeling when a familiar and a sorcerer meet for the first time. He had just met his sorcerer other, and he waited patiently to not startle him. Not many sorcerers knew the feeling considering not many even met their familiar other. "Lord Explosion Murder? I feel bad for your future kids if that's how you name. At least Rocky isn't that bad." Kirishima mused to himself as he purred on the ground. The foreign scent with the Ley Tree magic completely forgotten, Kirishima enjoyed his time with his new owner.

Bakugou zoned off as he continued to scratch Rocky behind the ears. What was that zing he felt? Was it because Rocky was some kind of electricity dragon? No, the body structure and scales didn't match. He wondered what the feeling was when Rocky froze suddenly and got up, tugging on his sleeve with his teeth. "What is it? Wait, are you a boy or a girl or do dragon's not have genders?" He felt Rocky nudge him lightly when he mentioned boy, so he decided to stick with male pronouns for Rocky. It wouldn't matter anyway since he could pick up better and more fluent Draconic from a scribe or an elder to be able to communicate with his Rocky. Wait... since when was he referring to a dragon as his? Dragons didn't have owners. Hell, he wasn't even sure if dragons could be familiars. "Wait, why am I not trying to communicate with you? I know basic Draconian!" Bakugou stumbled over his words slightly as he managed to get down basic questions like Rocky's real name, age and pronouns along with where he was being taken.
Kirishima watched and cooed at the sight of his owner stumbling over Draconian until realising how difficult it must be to get the pronunciation down when real Draconian accents hadn't existed in centuries. He slowly responded in what he hoped was audible Draconian, still awe-struck by how smart his owner was. Then he realised that his owner hadn't introduced himself, so he tried to mimic the same question he had asked him. Ahhh so his owner's name was Bakugou Katsuki. He nudged Bakugou closer to the Ley Tree in hopes that their magic would be compatible. When their magic mingles into one, that was when they became true partners. But not everything would be a happy ending and they would soon learn that.
