A year after the victory of the Roan Kingdom against the White Star and the Sealed God, the unexpected occurred. Cale-no- Kim Rok Soo's soul left his body, leaving Cale's body in an unconscious state. At the first day, the children averaging 10 years old thought that Cale is just sleeping longer than usual.
They even betted on what time Cale will wake up. Of course, no one won the bet.
And when the children finally tries to wake up Cale, he did not respond in any way.
10 Days Before I Became A Holy Maiden
At Cage's room
"I'm sorry Cage for barging in! Our weak human isn't waking up! It's been two days!" A confused Cage is met with an unexpected revelation, in her room, while in bed, just seconds from waking up.
"What?! Young master Cale is unconscious?" Imagining that she heard it wrong, as she looked at the clock that was pointing at 4am, Cage asked once more.
'Unconscious? I know this is bad and all but isn't it quite common?' she thought.
"Yes, miss Cage, we've been trying to find ways to wake him up, but we've got nothing so far, until now." Choi Han replied stoically.
Until now? Then the reason they are here!
"Ah- I see, so I guess young master Cale's condition has something to do with-" Before she could finish her sentence Raon frantically explains the situation. "We know that the stupid God of Death has something to do with this! We found it's stupid book on Cale! Goldie gramps and I couldn't feel anything but I'm sure it has something to do with it!"
"The book? You meant the div-" As Cage tried to confirm the details, Raon cuts her off again. "Yes! The divine item from God of Death! I knew it! We should have thrown that book years ago! We tried to remove it from our human's possession but we can't touch it for some reason!"
"I see so that's why you're he-" This time Choi Han cuts her off, he explained while maintaining a composed look. "You're the only one we know that could help us right now."
"Okay, then we should-" Cage tries to speak again but inevitably got cut off once more. "Raon will teleport us immediately once you're ready."
Cage internally sighed, 'I guess it's not just Raon' despite seeing Choi Han's stoic image, Cage thought that Choi Han must be panicking right now. Knowing that there's only one way to answer in this situation, Cage sighed once more and started to speak. "Let's go now Raon-nim."
Without a second wasted, the teleportation circle immediately activated and the three of them were teleported to super rock's villa.
Cale's room at Super rock's villa
As Cage tried to open her eyes, "Ugh! Fucking hell! What the fuck!" Curse words seamlessly flowed through her mouth. 'That fucking god did something for sure, alright!' She tried to clear her mind, but the fear and uncomfortable feeling that she initially felt from the divine item was ten times stronger right now.
"Miss Cage what is it?"
"Cage? what's wrong?"
The people in the room moved their attention at Cage, who then suddenly ran to leave the room and went to the hallway.
'Ah fuck! I've never felt this nauseous before, this damn god really-'Cage really never felt this way before, even though she had drank more booze that one would normally had, this one feels too different, the combination of nausea and chilly feeling on her back that feels cold and hot at the same time, makes her want to vomit. After she left the room, she finally felt like she could breathe again. The cold sweats and her pale face made Choi Han and Raon worry.
"I suppose this confirms that the God of Death did something to our young master Cale." Ron speaks as he hands a glass of water to Cage. He then continued, "Miss Cage, what happened back there?"
Cage loudly breathed while calming herself finally speaks, "God of Death's presence is really strong in that room right now." She took the glass and drinks it. "It's might be because the God of Death personally went there using the divine item there could be an another reason, but that could be why young master Cale's room is unbearable for me to stay at right now."
"Personally went!"
"E-excuse me!?"
"What! I never felt anything!"
On, Hong and Raon are shocked, as well as Ron and Choi Han who was staring at Cage.
"W-wait!" Raon continued speaking. "Shouldn't I have felt something like you did?"
"It must be my connection with the God of Death then." Cage speculated. "If a dragon like you Raon-nim couldn't feel it, the only answer I could think of right now is--Fuck!" Cage stopped.
"Huh!"
"W-what is it?"
"What is it miss Cage?"
'Ah shit! Young master Cale is truly a troublemaker wherever he goes! Fuck'
"Could you please elaborate miss Cage." Ron interjected. Cage sighs once more and finally continued.
"As I was saying, If the God of Death truly went here, I would have felt it, as well as the rest of the dragons. However, as Raon-nim said, no one felt it. So the only reason I could think of is that Young master Cale must have created a contract with the God of Death using the divine item. The God is not crossing the line between the worlds. The contract through the divine item will connect them without disrupting anything." Cage looked at everyone and flinched at seeing their vicious gaze.
'Uwaa! So scary! Cage who just recently composed herself, felt chills on her back once more.
"A contract huh-" Ron finally broke the silence, then he started chuckling. His menacing appearance is getting scarier every second Cage looks at him. After a few moment, he continued speaking, "Then it is safe to assume that our young master Cale knew why he is in this situation." Ron looked at Cage with a benign smile on his face.
'I'd rather be in Cale's room right now!' Cage honestly thought to herself, even though the presence of the God of Death is nauseating, she really felt like it was ultimately better to stay there instead.
"Yes, young master Cale probab- no- he definitely knew it. It was faint, but I felt a similar but different feeling. It was like a vow. It means that there must be an exchange between those two." Cage breathed in once more, "I'll try to contact the God of Death to see what happened."
