Work Text:

“Where did you put the sauce again?”

“In the cabinet above you.”

Collot opened the said cabinet. “I don’t see it.”

“It’s.. it's right in front of you.”

Collot peered harder into the now open cabinet. “Still don’t see it.”

Jack sighed. He reached over and grabbed the sauce he was looking for. “You should just cut your bangs if you can’t even see that.” He put it down onto the counter.

Collot snorted. “I don’t wanna bewitch you every hour of the day.”

“As if you haven’t already.”

“Hah, you win this one,” said Collot, planting a quick kiss on Jack’s cheek. “And I can say the same to you, wearing my shirt like that.”

“Hey, no touching,” Jack said as he cut the vegetables on the counter. “At least not yet. Don’t wanna mess up my cooking.”

“You’re testing me.”

Jack smirked. He gave Collot a side-eye look. “I’ll reward you if you wait like a good boy.”

Collot paused what he was doing. It was rare for Jack to be flirty like this. Maybe it was a sign of him being even more comfortable with the sheepdog than before. He smiled at the thought.

Collot decided to play along. “Oh? And what’ll it be, if I may ask?”

“Just you wait and see,” said Jack.

"Tease."

Jack chuckled. "Gotta earn your reward first."

Collot and Jack continued their cooking. Once finished, they moved to the sofa with their dinner, watching whatever movie was playing that night. Jack was leaning on Collot as they ate.

Collot perked up when he took the first bite of his food. "This tastes even better than before!”

Jack smiled. “Good! you're improving. Soon you won’t even need my help in the kitchen.”

"What?" Collot frowned. “But doing it with you is what makes it fun.”

“I didn’t say I’m not gonna cook with you,” Jack chuckled. “Besides, two chefs are better than one. With you cooking too, we don’t have to spend as much time preparing our food.”

“Mm.” Collot hummed in agreement.

The two finished eating. They set aside their dishes and went back to laying on the sofa. Collot rested his head on the armrest, while Jack laid sideways on top of him, his head on the sheepdog’s fluffy chest.

Jack yawned as it got deeper into the night.

“Getting sleepy?”

“Hnn,” Jack shook his head, “just needed more oxygen.”

Collot chuckled heartily, causing the Labrador’s head on his chest to bounce up and down. “Smartass.”

“You love it.”

“Sure do.”

Collot looked down, meeting Jack’s eyes. “But if you’re really tired we can go to bed.”

Jack waved his hand dismissively. “Nah. The movie was just boring, that’s all.” He flipped around, now lying prone, his upper body supported by his arms on Collot’s chest. “Besides, we can’t go to sleep yet.”

“Hm?” Collot raised an eyebrow. Not that anyone could see it behind his bangs anyway. “Why’s that?”

Jack pouted. “Wh- Don’t tell me you forgot.”

“Sorry, don’t remember.”

“How can you-” Jack cut himself off as if he realized something mid-sentence. He looked at Collot dead in the eyes, or at least the bangs in front of them. “You’re playing with me.”

The corner of Collot’s mouth turned up slightly. “Huh? What're you talking about?"

This dog and his antics… Jack chuckled. “So you really don’t remember?”

“Nope,” Collot shook his head, now smiling, “Remind me.”

“Well, you see…” his mouth turned into a sly smile. He sat up and straddled Collot’s hip. “Since you’ve waited like a good boy, I was thinking of rewarding you.”

“I see~” Collot matched Jack’s smile. “And what is this reward you’re speaking of?”

Jack leaned forward, putting both of his hands on Collot’s chest. “He’s right here in front of you.”

“Is that so?” Collot sat up, leaving only a small space between his face and Jack's. “Is it safe to assume I can do whatever I want with him?”

“Mmhm.” Jack put his arms around Collot’s neck. “Free for the taking.”

He pushed Jack down onto his back and pinned his arms. “Then I hope you won’t mind me claiming him.”

The light shining through the window woke Jack up. He sat up, rubbing his eyes lazily. Looking down beside him, he saw Collot still deep in his slumber. Smiling, He leaned down and planted a kiss on his forehead.

Once done, Jack shuffled to the edge of the bed slowly, not wanting to wake his partner. But as he was about to get off the bed, he was yanked back down by Collot. “What th- oof!

Before he knew it, he was in Collot’s embrace. It was as if he was a hug pillow.

“Jeez..”

Jack tried to get out, only to no avail. Any sign of resistance from the labrador was met with a whine and a tighter hug.

The labrador looked up at Collot’s face. “I can’t wake him up, that face is way too adorable..” His eyes then drifted to the clock on the bedside counter.

06:15

“...”

Sighing, Jack buried himself deeper into the sheepdog’s warm hug. “Oh well, a bit more sleep won’t hurt.”
