Chapter Text
All anyone could even afford to think right now was how? How could such a prestigious award show break down so horribly? Sure, there were a few malfunctions that made the news here and there, but nothing could compare to the catastrophe that occurred only a few hours ago...
Twice had just finished performing their new hit title track and were currently taking a bow towards the audience erupting with applause. After the girls straightened themselves up, they put their bright smiles on display for everyone to see before giving one last wave and exiting the stage. The area dimmed quickly as crew members scurried around everywhere to clean up in preparation for the upcoming performers.
Everything was going smoothly during the transition. That is, until all the lights in the area suddenly shut off, shrouding the stadium in darkness. Whispers within the audience raised in noise level while a few screams echoed throughout the area in shock. Everyone was now either reaching for their phone in an attempt to turn on some light or blindly searching around for their friends. A power outage this severe had never occurred before, but the idols, staff, and audience had no doubt it would be fixed soon. After all, this was only a small technical difficulty, right?
Unfortunately, those hopes had been cut short when the echo of gunshots rang about the whole stadium. The initial shrieks of shock morphed into ones of terror as people ducked to take cover while others ran towards what they assumed to be the exit. Security guards were now pushing past the flow of audience members to reach the idol groups they had sworn to protect and usher them to safety.
With people running about in every single direction, the scene could only be defined as one of chaos.
The entrance doors to the building hosting the famous show had burst open, revealing a sea of people bolting away in a panic. Echoes of, “119, what’s your emergency?” could be heard all over while pedestrians passing by watched the frenzied scene unfold before them. Those who had made it outside were now banded together in groups as they looked upon the stadium with a mixture of dread and confusion. Approaching police cars, ambulances, news reporters, all rushed in, adding onto the hectic scene.
No one could even begin to comprehend what the reasoning was behind this attack. Least of all, prepare themselves for the dreadful news story that would be released less than 24 hours later, beginning with the words:
They’re Gone.
