Work Text:
Izuku mentally kicked himself for not preparing while he still had time getting ready. While neither Eijirou nor Katsuki had told him about the exact place they were going, he should have guessed from the formal wear that he was given that it wouldn’t be like their typical date. It was nice and fun to dress up for a nice day out or when traveling to a recommended cafe, but only something so exquisite would be saved for going somewhere more...classy? Expensive? More elite? Izuku didn’t know how to explain it, but as he looked down at himself he continued to berate himself for not connecting the dots. Denki had been sent up to the room earlier in the afternoon to deliver and help Izuku dress. His clothing consisted of a nice forest green blouse with a matching set of black dress pants and a black dress shirt. Going over that shirt was a grey (dress?) coat that he had decided to button up only a bit so that he didn’t feel so constricted.
There was supposed to be a brown belt to go with the look, but it didn’t seem necessary when Izuku had gotten the pants on. They were the perfect width around his hips and a belt seemed like unnecessary weight. Denki had shrugged and easily tossed the belt aside after assuring the greenette that his lovers wouldn’t be upset about the lack of the accessory. If Izuku didn’t find it necessary, then that was fine. It just meant that they had gotten their sizing perfectly.
After Izuku had found himself dressed, with Ochako and Mina helping him clean up a bit and style his hair, he waited near the garage for his dates. All three had stayed with him, joking around and offering him words of encouragement as he trembled in his clothes. This would be the first time Katsuki and Eijirou had taken him somewhere more on the expensive side. Izuku was flattered that they wanted to treat him to some nice food, but also nervous about his appearance with them. They were pretty well-known around the world and, from what he understood, they had gone to this restaurant many times when it was still just the two of them. As someone who was completely new to the scene, he didn’t want to embarrass them with his lack of knowledge of the norms that could be associated with being in the spotlight like that.
Then again, none of his lovers had given him a pep talk, so maybe it wasn’t actually that bad? They were normally pretty good with warning him about stuff like that. And, sure, people could sometimes forget but Izuku doubted that that was what was at play. His nerves continued to play at him until Eijirou and Katsuki joined him and the other three at the garage, looking as mouth-watering as ever. Katsuki had an orange dress shirt on with a few buttons from the top undone, one that was the perfect shade and strength behind being eye-catching but not obnoxious. It went with his ash blonde hair and his ruby-red eyes perfectly. Like Izuku, he wore black dress pants and decided to dorn a toffee brown belt to keep them up (Izuku liked to think that it was because he had a slimmer waist). Across his shoulders, he wore a white dress shirt with gold outlines. It matched the gloves on his hands, tight enough to expose each knuckle in an intimidating manner. Though, the way he wore the coat over his shoulder almost made it look like some type of cloak or a cape. It was a good look for him, not that Izuku expected anything less.
Eijirou, on the other hand, looked a bit like Izuku’s outfit. Well, in some aspects. There was less color; it was pushed down to a dark red dress shirt with some navy blue dress pants. His bright red hair was spiked up in its usual style and Izuku had to keep himself from reaching forward to run his fingers along the edges. He didn’t want to accidentally bend or crease any of them, it would ruin Eijirou’s hard styling work. The redhead didn’t wear a dress coat as Izuku and Katsuki had, but somehow Izuku could see how that made sense. He didn’t know what it was, but Eijirou’s simplistic style or rugged aesthetic always spoke a lot more about his character. It brought back memories to when they first met and Eijirou wore more tank tops and ripped jeans as opposed to Katsuki’s leather coats and completely clean jeans. He looked gorgeous either way, don’t get Izuku wrong, but it was nice to recognize that as much as Eijirou and Katsuki worked together as a unit, they still had their own traits and styles that made them... them.
“Ready to go, angel?” Katsuki quirked a brow when Mina and Ochako giggled, leaving Denki to fake gag as he wished Izuku luck with the evening. They left soon after that, sending the other two subtle winks of encouragement. It was nice to see them all going out together again, it felt like it’s been too long. The greenette in question was blushing, a light pink dusting delicately over his freckled cheeks as he nodded shyly. His hands were clasped in front of him, pushed downwards so that he didn’t lean into the urge to cover his face to shield his flustered state. It was nice to see that Izuku was putting more effort into not hiding himself. It meant that even if he was still a bit slow on being comfortable enough to express himself freely in their presence, he still felt safe enough to try. “Excellent.”
“Come on, then!” Eijirou excitedly walked up and opened the garage door, leading their group towards the reserved car for the evening. It wasn’t anything too flashy - in color scheme, the style could be argued against since it was a luxury car - just a comfortable little BMW 750. It had a nice, smooth black coating with silver highlights and a comfortable, clean innard. While they were going somewhere on the fancier side, they didn’t want to drag too much attention towards themselves. Izuku wasn’t used to that quite yet and they didn’t want him to panic or become overwhelmed if people who knew them (by reputation only) approached them. Eijirou held the door open for Izuku to climb into the backseat first before shutting it and exchanging a glance with Katsuki.
Who was gonna drive tonight?
Normally, Katsuki didn’t always trust Eijirou to make the correct turns or know when to keep going straight forward while the redhead had to worry about his blonde lover's impatience when it came to other drivers sharing the road. Izuku being in the car had calmed Katsuki down significantly and Eijirou, not wanting to look like a complete idiot, had gotten better about being more cautious about directions. With this being a restaurant that they had both been to a fair amount of times, it could go either way. In the end, Katsuki had surrendered by tossing the keys over to Eijirou and climbing into the passenger seat in the front. His boyfriend sent a grateful smile when he had taken the driver’s seat and as the car whirred to life, they both glanced back to make sure Izuku was ok.
The car ride there was mostly silent. Izuku hadn’t really spent the day doing anything other than tending to the garden - a hobby he had taken up when he noticed how soothing and meditative it was to keep the flowers alive - and that was something that both of his lovers have heard about several times. And, for obvious reasons, neither Katsuki nor Eijirou wanted to discuss what they had spent the day doing with Tomura. Yet, even with the silence, there was no discomfort or tenseness as the street lights passed or the street became a bit less crowded as they got closer to their destination. When they arrived, Katsuki was the one to open the door to let Izuku out while Eijirou had arranged for their car to be parked in their usual spot.
Izuku found himself sandwiched between his lovers as they walked in, extremely grateful to have people to lean on as a waitress came by to check their reservation. As they were led to their table, he couldn’t help but feel several pairs of eyes burning themselves into his back. It wasn’t the most terrible feeling, they didn’t feel threatening or anything, but it still made him wish that the ground would swallow him whole. A quick look around and he could confirm that a lot of people had stopped what they were doing to gaze curiously at them. The stares never lasted long, but even the momentary attention made his skin crawl until the curtain to their private table was shut around them. He blinked in surprise when red satin closed them off from the rest of the crowd, but after a few kisses placed on his face Izuku was told that he had been so distracted by everyone else that he didn’t realize what he and his lovers were doing. Or, more specifically where Katsuki and Eijirou were leading him.
Whatever. They had made it to the table and Izuku needed to concentrate on the menu and ignore how Katsuki and Eijirou had seated themselves as close as they could without restricting each others’ movements. A good portion of the meals offered were things he hadn’t heard of and the brief description offered in smaller text under the overall titles didn’t do much to help. When he glanced up, debating about whether he should ask for help from Eijirou or Katsuki, he found the two staring at him lovingly. It was a bit of a shock since he figured that they’d be doing their own little search for dinner, but maybe they already knew what they wanted? It all went back to the fact that they’ve been here before, likely enough times to develop favorite dishes and not needing to look at the menu too much to figure out what they’d want. Maybe Izuku could use that to feel less bad about asking for help? He wouldn’t be interrupting their meal search with his questions.
“A-anything g-g-good?” Izuku murmured, folding his menu a bit so that he could see his boyfriends’ faces better. The two looked at each other for several moments as if silently debating on what Izuku would like. Normally, when he was with them, he ate a lot of Katsudon and whatever Katsuki had the kitchen staff make. The blonde man had researched into a proper diet to make sure that Izuku stayed completely healthy while he was still transitioning, something of which the greenette was extremely thankful for. It made him feel even more loved and supported in his own skin despite not being completely comfortable just yet. As soon as he was finished and could stop taking the shots, the better he’d likely feel. It wouldn’t be that odd middle ground between almost there but not quite.
“You might like the Sakura Tea here, very tasty and good for your health.” Eijirou smiled sweetly, tilting his head when Izuku made a silent request to explain. He’d heard of that tea before and could probably tell what it was based on the name, but he couldn’t say that he was completely sure what it was made of. Besides, it wouldn’t kill to know all of the ingredients in the case that there was a small secret that he didn’t want. “You seep edible pickled cherry blossoms in boiled water. It’s quite flavorful while being soothing, ya know?”
“O-oh.” That did sound pretty good, so Izuku would go with that for a drink. That still left his food for the evening a mystery, but Katsuki was the one to take the reins on that. Knowing the menu like the back of his hand, he flipped the page to where anything similar to Katsudon would lay and started to describe each dish in terms that Izuku actually understood. It took a while thanks to the sheer amount of options, but their waiter for the evening couldn’t have arrived at a more perfect time. Izuku was just closing his menu and moving the rest to the center of the table when the curtain was pulled back and a tall man stepped inside.
His name tag read Yoshi Uchida and his expression was just the right amount of politeness without looking too forced. “Good evening, sirs.” He bowed lightly, his shirt barely creasing as he bent over and stood back up. As he rose, he wielded a notepad and a pen, prepared to take their orders. Only, he didn’t bother verbally asking what they wanted but nodded his head at them in silent questioning. It was quite tranquil compared to the energetic or bored greetings that Izuku has received when out and about at a cafe with his lovers or with his new group of companions.
“Two glasses of Umeshu Plum Wine and one glass of Sakura Tea.” Katsuki waited until those had been scribbled down and the waiter looked up once more. Gathering the folded menus that Izuku had placed in the center of the tables, he pushed them towards Mr. Uchida and waited some more so that he could gather them. Gosh, it was pretty strange to watch but Izuku appreciated how swiftly everything was done. It was nice and clean. “Then we’ll have a 15, 26, and 34. And make 26 extra spicy.”
Izuku was surprised to hear the numbers and he wished he could have snatched the menus back up to check where Katsuki had gotten those from. He supposed that he had been too focused on learning about the actual dishes to pay attention to any sort of kanji or number title that they could be given. Then again, when he thought about effectiveness, it did seem more simple and clear to list off numbers instead of pronouncing several names that could blend together. Oh dear...if names were more than two words, then that could get so confusing! And their waiter, attentive as ever, only nodded before bowing out and quietly leaving. He didn’t bother repeating back their orders to make sure he had gotten them right like most of the cafes did. Numbers really were a lot simpler and quicker to get out then. You learned something new every day!
“So, did anything exciting happen today?” Eijirou placed his hand on Izuku’s (where it rested on the table), squeezing gently when Izuku jumped a bit in surprise. He assumed that the day would be too boring to recall since it was so simple, but in hindsight, what else was there to talk about? Izuku hadn’t been allowed to return to The Den while new management was being inputted and he didn’t feel like he’d be able to get any other sort of job with his little education and experience in the work field - in terms of variety. So that was out. And, even if he was curious about what Katsuki and Eijirou did, he had a strong feeling that they wouldn’t be the most eager to tell him.
(Or he’d be too scared to listen to anything they’d have to say.)
Izuku smiled either way, nodding shyly. “Y-yeah! Ochako helped me tend to the new Wisterias. Even though it’s only been a few months, they’re doing very well! Very healthy and well-grown already.” The colors were still a bit dull, but they still had plenty of time to get there before anyone had to worry about there being a problem with the plant. For now, the various shades of lavender and darker purple blended into one very pale lavender that’s still mostly taken over by the greenness of the stem. “Some of the Hakonechloa might need to be replaced though. It’s still surrounding the trees just fine, but most of it looks like it’s dead or close to dying. Maybe we can do that at a later time next week, Ochako says she’s got a busy schedule for the next few days.”
Ah, right…
Ochako had been assigned to work with Kyouka and Mina to finalize plans for the tests for a new set of recruits that had been sent over. Before any training could begin - where they’d be prepared for trades, escort missions, intel gathering, and assassinations - they needed to prove that they’d survive the lifestyle that they had chosen to enter. One didn’t need to have any particular talent or prior skill when it came to joining the Bakugou clan, the arrogant ones were the first ones to break anyway. But you certainly stood out more or had a better chance of surviving through the Recruitment Trials if you were prepared to fight and prove that you had the cunning, strength, concentration, intelligence, and speed to push past your peers.
For many years, the trials mostly consisted of duels or scenario tests that were supposed to gauge how many people would make it. This year, since most of these newbies were sent by Camie and Itsuka’s group, they should already have some experience with duels and prioritizing or preplanning. According to the two female leaders, weaker links were already killed or sent skulking off with their tails between their legs. Therefore, they needed something more challenging.
“What about you two? Anything about your day you want to talk about?” Izuku was a bit fearful about what answer he’d get, even if it was a firm look that normally meant you don’t want to know and we wouldn’t tell you even if you did. It was nice to be spared of the details either way, but that answer also meant that something unsavory happened and the imagination could get quite...detailed...at times. At the same time, surely, his lovers would give him some sort of warning or talk about something not negative? Not to mention that they seemed to be having some good days for the past two weeks.
“I don’t think you’d really like it, babe. It got quite...dark.” Eijirou brought his hands up so that he could air quote the messy bit, but followed it with a: “But we did make sure that Shigaraki isn’t a danger to you anymore, so that’s one thing off of the list.” In reality, Tomura had been off the charts ever since the day that Izuku had been brought to their true world, but their baby didn’t need to know that quite yet. With the way they had fed their story of that afternoon into it, Izuku had believed that they had imprisoned Tomura instead of killing him or torturing him. Trying to tell him that they handed him over to the police didn’t seem very convincing and, let’s be honest, he would give them the driest look imaginable if they even tried.
“Oh-!...ummm...uhhhh…” Along those lines, Izuku didn’t know what to make of that. It was nice that he didn’t have to worry about Tomura anymore. Or, he hasn’t had to worry about it since he’s been with Eijirou and Katsuki at the manor, but the phantom of his ex-boss was resistant against leaving him completely alone. Yet...was Tomura being…”gone” really a much more comforting one? He didn’t like the older man, but did he truly deserve whatever fate his lovers had in store for him? It was really hard to judge when Izuku technically didn’t know what happened - not that he wanted to know either! No thank you.
“We didn’t do anything too extreme.” Katsuki sent Eijirou a glare for not being specific enough not to cause panic. They didn’t need their lover to lose his appetite because his thoughts decided to go all over the place with violence and horrific expectations. “Right before a fabulous meal with our beautiful boyfriend is hardly the appropriate time to get into anything messy.” Not only was that just unsanitary, but it would ruin the mood before it could be formed properly.
“Right, right!” Eijirou laughed in an embarrassed manner, but Izuku took easy pity on him and leaned over to kiss his cheek. It did well in making him feel better within moments, but it also meant that Katsuki was pouting at his other side from being left out. Ideally, an equally chaste kiss to his cheek would solve the problem without creating any drama or unsavory scenes in a very public restaurant. Covered by the curtain and Izuku still felt no comfort outside of being held, holding hands, or quick kisses. Unfortunately, his lovers didn’t seem to share his sentiment. As soon as his lips left the smooth, creamy surface of Katsuki’s cheeks he felt his head being forced to the side as some teeth gently nipped at his neck.
He tried to suppress the squeak that shot out by closing his mouth - he really tried! - but it still came out violently. He tried to jump a bit as well, maybe to scoot away just enough not to be reached or to express his shock, and was caught immediately by large hands on his hips. He didn’t know for sure who’s hands those were, he just made an educated guess based on the fact that Katsuki was the one chewing on his neck, which meant that his were the ones wound around his shoulders so that his head remained tilted. It left Eijirou’s hands the only ones available besides his own. The redhead in question didn’t take long to lean forward and latch onto the other side of Izuku’s neck, leaving the greenette in a constant state of turning and tilting backward as his lovers marked up his neck.
The dress shirt made it a bit difficult to get comfortable at first. With how his lovers were pulling at it to get the best angle of his neck, it felt like it was about to rip off. Not only would a good shirt be ruined, but it would also raise some questions when their waiter got back - that is, if Mr. Uchida broke the professional air to allow himself to wonder. If he did, then Izuku had no issue pointing the finger(s) of blame to the two with him. If he didn’t, then Izuku would be spared of having to awkwardly explain what happened. Of course, there was also the strong chance that it wouldn’t matter either way since his lovers wouldn’t let him keep his clothes on if they ripped off even a bit. He knew the men too well to know that their restraint was so inconsistent when it came to him. Sometimes they were great and other times they...weren’t…
To Izuku’s relief, this turned out to be one of the nights that they were actually pretty good. They only spent, at most, five minutes decorating his freckled skin with love bites and bruises until pulling back to admire their work. Smirks and knowing glances passed through him or over him, but only genuine smiles and twinkling eyes truly met him in the middle. It was wonderful and had Izuku not been the one most worried about giving the public a show, he’d want to have another go at more kissing if it meant that he’d be able to properly convey how much he loved them in return. Alas, their food had to come at some point and (lucky for their stomachs) it was sooner rather than later. Mr. Uchida was as silent as he first came in when he balanced a tray of three mugs in one palm, making sure to bow respectfully as he handed each of them their drinks.
Once he was done, he stood aside as three different serves joined him; one-by-one. Izuku had remembered what he ordered, but to see that all of them had gotten some type of curry dish almost had him giggling in amusement. He doubted that they were the exact same type. If he had to go by appearance or scent, then he’d assume that Katsuki got some chicken (the chunks were smaller and better formed) while Eijirou had beef (the pieces were longer and thinner). Izuku had gotten pork and was pleased to find that it was fried, much like how Katsudon pork was done, and coated in a somewhat sweet curry sauce that Katsuki claimed would bring out the juiciness and herbal spices of his meat. The other items in the sauce were pretty consistent - they all looked to have potatoes, vegetables such as carrots or snap peas, and thin onion slices. Katsuki had some tofu in his, which Izuku could only assume was heavily spiced.
All three pairs of hands clapped together: “Itadakimasu!”
After the first bite, Izuku was gone. He wanted to savor his meal by going slow, but he couldn’t resist the endless amounts of flavor that soon branded itself in his mouth. Wonderful would be the closest thing to describe it and Izuku could understand why the food was as pricey as it was. They were all fairly silent as they ate, no one desiring to be rude and talk with their mouths full or pull their lovers’ attention away from their much-needed dinner. However, what Izuku missed were the quick looks that Katsuki or Eijirou would send him when he made a particular cute noise while chewing or how he would smile widely when he had gotten his mouth full down. It was hard to eat like a person instead of a pig when he wanted to just shovel it all in, but he managed. He loved animals, but he didn’t want to eat like one and cause more mess for the staff to clean up. Oh! There was also his clothes and the low chance that he’d get Katsuki or Eijirou dirty if he got sloppy.
Alternating between drinking their beverages and finishing their dinner was a bit strange. Flavors and after tastes tended to mix together, no matter how slowly or spaced out the bites and the sips were. But even so, nobody could complain when the easiest fix would be to take another bite and erase any unpleasant mixed flavors. When bowls were cleaned out, Katsuki was the first to let out a loud sigh of content. “That was nice.” He raised a brow over to Eijirou, rolling his eyes when his boyfriend gave an obnoxiously aggressive thumbs up in agreement. “What did you think, angel? You like your meal?”
Izuku nodded eagerly, too much like an excited puppy with adorably floppy ears and a wild, wagging tail. His green eyes were nice and shiny, tiny sparkles beginning to turn to fully-shaped stars as he began to babble about how he’d love to learn some more recipes after eating such a delicious dish. He’d probably never get the restaurant’s recipes (not that he wanted it, he didn’t want to steal) but he could still learn from the internet. Or, Katsuki was pretty good at cooking even though he had an armada of chefs to make any dish he desired. Maybe, if he and Eijirou had another free day soon, they could spend the entire day cooking and baking together! It’d be so fun and educational for all of them.
“How about you two head to the car while I pay?” Katsuki was already taking his card out as he stood up from the booth, stretching his arms up until a satisfying pop came from his back. The groan he let out - pleased that he had gotten those cracks out - got both Izuku and Eijirou blushing heavily. It was a deep, almost growly sound that sent shivers and tremors. The perfect balance between completely sexy and a bit intimidating.
“Y-yeah, yeah!” Eijirou coughed a bit into his fist before grabbing onto Izuku’s shoulder. He waited until Katsuki pulled back their curtain before walking out. They went to the front together, but were quick to separate as the attendant took Katsuki’s card and processed the information into the little machine at the desk. The night hadn’t gotten too cold ever since they had first entered, but Eijirou still held his smaller lover close just in case. The person in charge of delivering their car to the front took a while to find, but that turned out to be a result of a shift change. Eijirou had accidentally been looking for the wrong person, hehe…
Izuku had tried to muffle his giggles as their car was brought up, but Eijirou still refused to let out his pout until the keys were handed back to their respectful owner. From there, it was only about three minutes of waiting until Katsuki came out. Seeing as how he was the one to drive to the restaurant, Eijirou decided that he’d be the one to take them home. It was as silent and quick as their journey there, not too surprising. They all wanted to get to their shared bed, maybe not to sleep but to settle down from the day and enjoy their evening cuddles. It was nice to come back to the soft sheets, showered with brushed teeth, completely clean and bare for their other lovers to appreciate and love.
Izuku was always placed in the middle, his body safely caged in from the rest of the world. He shared several passionate kisses with Katsuki and Eijirou throughout their time together, alternating almost every other moment. His lips were always busy, even when the two of them decided to kiss each other and leave him to his own devices. At that point, he’d let himself lean forward to gently kiss across exposed shoulder blades or (very rarely) neck columns. He left behind much smaller marks compared to his lovers, but that was mostly due to his lack of teeth usage. There was still plenty of lips and tongue, with the occasional sucking of skin when he felt like being a bit cheekier.
It earned him some coos about how cute it was that he was letting his “kitten fangs” out. Yeah, he got it, his teeth (even his canines) weren’t nearly as sharp as his boyfriends’ were. But he didn’t understand their logic! He wasn’t in any way like a kitten just because his teeth were a bit duller. Or were they just trying to be cheeky right back? It wouldn’t be unlike them.
“You’re so fucking perfect for us, ya know?” Katsuki turned around to shut the lamp on his side off, quickly followed by Eijirou shutting his off. He doubted that it was really that late, but that didn’t take away from the fact that they all had a pretty busy day and would have an equally busy day tomorrow. Katsuki and Eijirou had to check in with their respective mission team leaders about a recent assignment that they started and Izuku was scheduled to see his mother at 11:45 AM. A meeting that he dreaded just a bit. He had told her that he had been dating Eijirou and Katsuki for a while now and he’s been hiding their true identities pretty well, no matter how much he hated lying to his mother.
Tomorrow though...tomorrow...he wanted...he needed…
They’ve never met yet.
His mother always seemed so happy and excited that Izuku had found people who loved him and took good care of them, but they had never scheduled a time to meet. He couldn’t blame her, not by a long shot. She had a lot going on with new examinations and procedures being done (courtesy of the money that his boyfriends’ put into her recovery). Recently, she had a blood test that had halted any further testing until the results came back. It left an inadequate time for any meeting of new boyfriends to take place.
Hopefully, tomorrow, that uncertainty of timing could be changed.
He just also...needed to convince his lovers not to...well…
Hide from his mother?
Oh!
Also, convince them that he wasn’t ready to face their mothers quite yet either. That was pretty important.
