Chapter Text
Aizawa had never imagined himself telling his class about the Hero Commission being horrible, but here he was.
One would think that creating perfect heroes was a noble cause.
Perfect heroes would be great at defending the city while not being absolute douchebags. While being perfect was impossible, it was a good thing to strive towards so long as it wasn’t taken to extremes.
At least that was how Aizawa saw it. Sadly, it had been taken to the extreme. The Hero Commission was trying to create perfect heroes. The extreme being the bare minimum for them. The horrible part was about to come through.
They weren’t training adults. They were taking children from their homes and training, no, abusing them to try and make them perfect.
Nobody outside of the hero community and UA knew. It was being kept from the public for obvious reasons. Sadly, there was little UA could do about that for the moment thanks to a lack of evidence.
Everyone in class 1-A looked horrified at everything that he told them (which was understandable), but Aizawa couldn’t help the nagging feeling that one of them could be one of the kids that’d been put through hell by the Hero Commission.
If that ended up being the case, there would be hell to pay!
While Aizawa was talking, Tokoyami was getting more and more nervous. He didn’t know how word had gotten out, but that didn’t matter at the moment.
No, what matters is that I can’t afford anyone finding out I’m one of those kids.
They didn’t need to know about all the times he fucked up and had to be punished for it. They didn’t need to know how many times the Hero Commission reminded him of the fact that he was a freak, that he wasn’t good enough.
Tokoyami shared a look with Shinsou. He quickly took out his phone underneath his desk, typing out a message to the Hero Commission Trio chat.
HC Trio
Shadow Birb: Let's meet at the park after school
Insomnicat: Sure
QuirkSnatched: Got it
Closing his phone, Tokoyami waited for school to end. When it finally did, he and Shinsou walked towards the park together in silence.
Shinsou had joined 1-A because Mineta apparently went a bit too far and got expelled. It’d been a relief for the three of them. It meant Shinsou had to get through less punishment.
The Hero Commission hadn’t been happy with Shinsou not getting into the hero course. Now that he was in the hero course, things were a lot better.
At the park, they spotted Monoma already there. He seemed nervous, which probably meant that he’d gotten the news as well.
“So they found out,” Shinsou commented.
They stood in silence for a moment, all three of them were lost in thought. It reminded Tokoyami of the moment where they’d been told to go to UA.
( “You three will be going to UA.”
Tokoyami’s eyes widened slightly. Monoma, Shinsou, and Tokoyami had always gotten their education at the training facility. Why would high school be different?
When the man bringing them that news disappeared, he looked at Monoma and Shinsou. Nobody said anything. Tokoyami wasn’t excited for UA and Monoma and Shinsou didn’t seem that happy as well.
They hadn’t exactly had a lot of practice with socializing. While the three of them were like brothers, that was more circumstantial than anything else.
Being in the same situation and treating each other’s wounds had helped them bond. Similar backgrounds helped them bond. Over the years they’d grown closer.
Who knew how it would go if they had to be in a big school with many students? )
Tokoyami would say that he, Shinsou, and Monoma were brothers in pretty much everything but blood. They were the only ones he trusted besides Shoji.
His mind briefly drifted to Shoji, his boyfriend of about two months. He loved Shoji with his whole heart, though he wasn’t sure how to express that. Shoji didn’t seem to mind.
Tokoyami forced his mind to get back on topic. This wasn’t the time to get distracted. His mind went to the day they went into the dorms.
( Tokoyami had packed his stuff. It wasn’t much, but it was enough for him.
He, Shinsou, and Monoma were eating breakfast before they would head to the dorms. The topic of conversation was one they’d all been thinking about for a while.
“I still wonder why they would send us to UA. Training us here seemed fine for quite a while.” Tokoyami nodded at what Shinsou said.
“Could it be that they don’t think the training here is good enough?” Monoma wondered.
“They’re the Hero Commission,” Tokoyami said.
“Fair point.”
They couldn’t come up with any explanations. It didn’t make sense.
“It’s probably something they’re not telling us. Let's just trust them and do as we’re told.”
Tokoyami didn’t like saying it, but it was the best solution. If they tried snooping around, they would only get punished. Both Monoma and Shinsou agreed. If they were supposed to know, they’d know. )
“I wonder how they figured out what’s happening,” Monoma said.
Tokoyami thought of something but hesitated to voice his thoughts. What he wanted to do was a horrible idea.
“Should we- Should we tell the teachers we’re training under the Hero Commission?” He asked hesitantly.
“And risk getting punished? Our orders were to not say anything, no matter the circumstances.” Monoma said.
Tokoyami hesitated but nodded. It was better if they kept their mouths shut. After all, why would they risk getting punished when they knew that there wouldn’t be any change? It wasn’t worth it. It was never worth it.
Besides, the Hero Commission was helping him become stronger. Why would he throw that away? The Hero Commission gave him a chance when no one else would and he wasn’t going to throw that away.
He just had to deal with the painful punishments until he was perfect. It would be worth it, wouldn’t it? Then again, it didn’t matter if it was or not because Tokoyami couldn’t get away from the Hero Commission. He had nowhere to go.
The only thing he could do was everything the Hero Commission told him to do.
