Work Text:

He was supposed to be on a mission to claim an item and quickly leave the area. The ballroom was filled with noble men and women masks covering their faces and large turning keys plunged into their backs. Each couple dancing would dance to the ticking sounds of a clock though there was non to be seen as well as the music a group of musicians with the heads of chess pieces were playing on the ceiling.

Aesop carl or more known in this world as the trickster stood in front of a large banquet hall his hand holding a half eaten macaroon and small crumbs on his cheeks. He looked up at the window above him when he heard the sounds of thunder only to be bumped into by several people as everybody gathered in a perfect circle around the marble dance floor.

Aesop stopped paying attention from that point though was ready to knock someone in the face with his fist if they nudged him again. A figure was stood across on a stage with long brown hair tied into a loose ponytail with a bow and his body clothed in the most detailed dark suit.

The auctioneer makes his way down the stairs to the dance floor his hips swaying from side to side and eyes on the trickster as he then began to dance alone.

Nobody dared interrupt him and watched as he graced the dance floor with his movements. This was a man who could bring so much presence with only a twirl or a flick of the wrist. He dance his way towards the crowd nearest the table covered with food. The auctioneer gave them a curt nod before the crowd moves in synch and part like the sea before moses showing somewhat of a path between the auctioneer and the trickster who was frozen in place eyes widened and a macaroon that was about to be devoured.

the auctioneer held out his hand and bows grinning when the trickster closed his eyes turned towards the auctionner. The music had grown quiet but was still audible as the shorter one of the two slowly made his way to the auctionner, his eyes closed in feigned embarrassment and hands behind his back.

Once he reached the auctioneer he slowly brought his hand to hold the others but before they could touch aesop used his other hand that was hold the macaroon to shove it into the auctioneer's mouth. The brunette widened his eyes and watched as the trickster danced past him and began to do his own little solo though his eyes never left the auctioneer his own little cunning smirk on his lips daring him to make his next move. The auctioneer could only chuckle and straighten his posture.

The auctioneer a continued his own dance the two on separate sides of the dance floor. The tricksters movements were slow, graceful and done in a teasing manner whilst auctioneer's were quick, sharp and calculated as he would try to join the trickster in his, waltz but alas the trickster would quickly move away each time and wink at the taller man.

Aesop rolled his eyes with a chuckle when he heard the auctionneer huff and turns to face the auctioneer. The music grows quiet once again as the two bow only for the music to grow loud as aesop ran towards the auctioneer who then lifted him into the air only to quickly bring him down again. The two waltzed around the ballroom too focused on each other and how close they were to notice the keys in the audience had stopped turning and each one beginning to fall to the floor.

A large handless clock on the wall where the auctioneer stood moments earlier ticking away to the music. The clock glows a bright orange as the two silhouettes danced in front of it. The song was slowly coming to an end the trickster hooking hs arm around the auctioneer's waist and beginning to dip him. Their faces were close and their eyes never left each other. The trickster was about to press his lips against the auctioneer's luscious red ones.

Only for aesop to wake up with a gasp and sit up in his bed. It was all just a dream? He thought with slight displeasure his eyes looking around to find he was back in the manor he was trapped in with the hunters and survivors.

Aesop's cheeks flush at the memory of the auctioneer who very much looked like his lover joseph. He wondered if joseph was dreaming too? He looked out of his window at the sounds of a violin playing that same song from his dream it must of been antonio. Aesop could only chuckle and hoped he'd get to finish that dream when he goes back to sleep.
