Chapter Text
"Katsuki, stop," Izu demanded, calm and collected despite Bakugou's explosive Quirk, and even more explosive nature. Ignoring him, Bakugou Katsuki slammed his clenched fist and palm together in an ear-deafening explosion, sparks flying everywhere. Izu started again,
"Katsuki, I'm asking politely one last- "
"Time? Ho-ho. Someone's rather confident, considering how you're such a useless Deku who can barely grow a flower on his arm. Oh, illustrious and all-inspiring class rep, whatcha gonna do?" Bakugou sneered. He gave a signal, and at this, his two lackeys started moving his forward, one taking flight, his wings unfurling dramatically, the other's fingers extending menacingly. Nodding grimly, Izu started calling forward his quirk.
"Though we aren't really friends anymore, the three of us grew up together Kacchan. Surely you know me better than to just give up when my Quirk appeared to only be able to grow some flowers from my arms?" He growled as a vine started to grow from the centre of a hand, on the other hand, a strange bud. Using the vine, Izu caught Fingers by the ankle and dragged him to the ground. The bud on his other hand continued to swell until a thick liquid started to spray from it, completely immobilising Fingers. Immediately, Izu brought his focus to Wings, whose look was a mixture of fear, shock and surprise, as well as apparent comfort. Possibly because he was safe from this new threat. Or so he thought. From a palm formed a vine, mounted with a cactus-like spike as long as his forearm. Taking a second to aim, Izu embedded the makeshift grappling hook into the wall next to Wings. With tree trunks growing from the soles of his feet, and the vine rapidly retracting, Izu propelled himself up to Wings and, with knuckles reinforced with bark, slugged him across the face. Falling limply, Wings crumpled to the ground in an undignified heap. Izu himself landed with a few rolls to cushion his fall, before rising to grab Bakugou by the throat and pinned him to the very wall he had backed Tsuyu up against.
"Why do you think that just because you have a Quirk which is more powerful than most other people's, the world just automatically belongs to you? That UA will just open their arms to you, without questioning what you do? And just because the three of us grew up together, it doesn't mean that you can bully us however you want. Tsuyu-chan is too nice, and so doesn't fight back. But I am sick of how you treat us. From now on, don't talk to us. Don’t even look at us. Know that we won't reply until you treat us, and everyone else for that matter, in the right way. C'mon Tsu-chan," He said, pulling up his best friend, who had fallen over as they had fought. Together, they trudged home. To fill the silence, Izu asked,
“Hey Tsu-chan, which high school did you apply for in the end? You couldn’t pick between UA and the city one right?” At this, Tsuyu reddened, the graffiti scrawled on the ceiling of the underpass suddenly becoming incredibly interesting.
After some time, she muttered, “I want to be the best hero I can be and help everyone. That’s why I have to go to-” Without warning, Tsuyu Asui was engulfed in a wall of sludge, the sentient slime trying to force itself down her throat. With an almost professional calm, she emptied her stomach, temporarily dealing with the villain. Izu looked around frantically for any help, but under the bridge, with no heroes in sight, he realised that he would have to take charge. His body started to glow as his twin took the wheels.
‘It was my day as well!’ he muttered, knowing full well that Tsu-chan would be fine with her frog Quirk. The fact that she was rolling her eyes and signing ‘take your time!’ helped too.
As he relinquished control over the body, he felt a confident stride brush past him.
Zuku Midoriya rolled his neck, gently cracking the vertebrae as he felt his control spread throughout his body. Small changes occurred all across, his hair slowly turning black, each bone in his entire body almost imperceptibly stretching. Almost. According to his most recent measurement, it was an exact seven-millimetre boost in height. Almost lazily, he stretched out his hand. The control over matter which his quirk allowed him permitted him to forcibly separate each individual particle of the slime villain from the body of his best friend. With practised ease, Zuku brought up a bottle lying by the side of the road and, with his telekinesis, compressed the villain to fit inside the container. Before his hair had finished darkening, the villain had been defeated and contained.
Zuku cracked his knuckles, then held his hand out to Tsuyu.
