Work Text:
"Dazai-saaaan!!!!"
Chuuya first looked at Dazai - who actually looked perplexed for once - before then to the source of the high pitched voice. His eyes widened in surprise as a female shamelessly draped herself all over Dazai.
What the fuck.
"Maki-san, please refrain from doing such things." The brunet sighed, peeling her off him and giving her a stern look, making her lips turn into a pout.
"But~! It's been a long time since I last saw you!" She protested, setting her bag on top of Chuuya's desk like it's her own goddamn seat.
Again, what the fuck.
"That's pretty rude of you, Maki-san." Dazai addressed, taking her bag and making her hold onto it.
Maki looked down at the object then the occupant of the seat beside Dazai's. "This is my seat." She said. "Please move."
Chuuya looked at her boredly. "Well, Kunikida-sensei said it's mine. You move." He shot before he went back to minding his own business. Dazai that bastard has got a lot to explain.
"What he said." Dazai added with a shrug of his shoulders. "Class is starting soon, you'd want to go to your seat soon before sensei came and-"
The door opened before he finished his sentence and Maki was quick to go to the nearest vacant seat to avoid their homeroom teacher's scolding.
Chuuya later learnt several things about the girl :
- She was that girl whose scent stuck on Dazai and made him burn the brunet's jacket.
- She's attached to Dazai ever since then and because that dumbass suicidal maniac jokingly invited her to his double suicide agenda, the girl thought it was some kind of twisted, romantic confession.
- She originally had brown hair and eyes but one day after Dazai told her he likes natural red hair and blue eyes, she came to school with fiery locks and blue contact lenses.
- And lastly, she hadn't been in school because Dazai landed her a suspension for bugging him too much - honestly Chuuya thinks that's amazing because Dazai's the most annoying human being in the entire universe.
" Dazai-san~ I forgot my textbook, can I share with you ?"
Chuuya wordlessly threw Dazai's textbook towards her and connected their desk so he could share his book with the brunet.
" Dazai-san! I made lunch for you~! Let's eat together! "
Chuuya put down the neatly packed lunch box on top of Dazai's desk. "What a pity, he has lunch already and he promised to eat with me."
"Dazai-san~! Are you going to jump off the roof again today? Let's do it together!"
Dazai looked at Chuuya with wide, alarmed eyes. "I was just joking that one time." He defended himself.
And Chuuya pinched the bridge of his nose. "No one's jumping off the damn roof!"
" Dazai-san-"
"Are you not tired, calling for him every damn minute!?" At last, the redhead snapped loud enough to gather others' attention and he glared at the female who knitted her eyebrows as she looked at him. And the students who were previously minding their own business made a stop upon the outburst, curious of what's happening.
"No. Aren't you tired bothering me and Dazai-san every damn minute?" She returned and Dazai could see a vein popping on Chuuya's forehead. He took a step back to get a better view of the fight. "Besides, stop clinging onto him like a leech!"
Chuuya scoffed. "A leech? Clinging onto him? Me?? Has those lenses blind you? Clearly he's the one stuck to me."
"You think of yourself that highly, I almost feel sorry for you. Why would Dazai-san stick to someone like you..." She trailed off, studying Chuuya from his head down to his toes, lingering a second too long on his face. "Just because Dazai-san said red hair and blue eyes is his type, doesn't mean he likes you!"
The one fought over didn't even try to hide his chuckle at that one comment while Chuuya blinked in surprise. "Very well said. Now go look at the mirror and repeat the same sentence."
Chuuya almost felt bad at the way her face started matching her hair in embarrassment. Almost. He sighed. "Look, I don't want to be mean but Osamu's very troubled by your behaviour and if you would stop, I'm sure he'd appreciate it."
"He likes me! He's just shy to admit it!"
Chuuya almost threw up at that. He's shy to admit it, my ass! He shot Dazai a disgusted look. "What's with that face, Chuuya! You must be thinking of something extremely offensive!" Chuuya ignored him.
"No, he doesn't and you should really count that as a blessing because being liked by that bastard isn't all that good, okay. You want to date him? I'd say go right ahead but I don't think your measly love could prepare you for what you'll face."
"Rude, Chuuya, that's just rude!"
"Facts, mackerel." Chuuya retorted. "Anyway, you get what I'm saying? Leave him alone while I'm asking nicely, yeah?"
"Why would I listen to you? Dazai-san didn't even say anything." She stubbornly said.
Chuuya looked at the brunet, walking over to him who was leaning against the wall. He threw his arms around Dazai's neck, hugging him and Dazai's response was immediate. "Why didn't he say a thing, you ask? Because he's a bastard who likes it when I do all the work. He likes it when I fight with people over his sorry ass and claim him as mine in front of them." Dazai hummed, pressing their noses together. "Am I wrong?"
The brunet grinned at that. "Nope. It's a perfect score."
Chuuya was also sporting a fond smile on his lips. "So, Maki-san, this bandaged, suicidal bastard called Dazai Osamu is off limit and most importantly, mine so kindly fuck off." He said and while they're this close already, might as well kiss him.
And kiss him, he did.
"WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING IN THE CORRI- DAZAI! NAKAHARA!"
The two immediately broke away, facing a red faced, furious, Kunikida-sensei.
"Oops~" Dazai sang while Chuya jumped away from him like he'd burnt him, looking like a deer caught in the headlights; the confidence from earlier dispersing into thin air.
"S-Sensei! There was something on Dazai's eyes-" The redhead tried to reason.
"TO THE TEACHER'S OFFICE, NOW!"
Chuuya whined at that while Dazai happily grabbed onto his hand and dragged him to follow after their teacher; Quickly resigning to his fate, Chuuya stole a glance at Maki who's glaring at him with tears welling in her eyes and suddenly decided he wanted to be mean, after all. Goodness, he should stop hanging out too much with Dazai.
"And for your information!" He called, gaining her attention. "Dazai doesn't like me because I have red hair and blue eyes, he likes red hair and blue eyes because I've got them!"
The ginger then smirked in victory as Maki ran away, hiding her eyes, and he felt Dazai squeezing his hand to gain his attention.
"That, too, is absolutely correct."
Well, at least now getting detention or suspension will be worth it or.. will it?
