Oh, how the moon shines over the lake. It guides us as I turn the oars again. You find gentle peace in waters, and I may not, but I’ve always found that same peace in you.
One thing that never made sense: why do I love you so?
You are not peace, you are war. You pluck fish from these same waters with ease. Kirari Momobami is a practiced fisherman, though her methods remain atypical.
Money is of no matter, but the chase gives you a high that nobody but Yumeko emulates. I see an addiction in your eyes, but no part of me wants to cure it, rather, I want to follow you through to the end of it.
You, an addict to humanities best gambles, I, addicted to you.
Tonight was never meant to be any different. But the moon was out, and it reminds us of love. I saw her shine down on us, gently kissing our cheeks with her light, blessing us with her approval. I kissed you at the same time.
You deserve the deepest kind of love, and I worry I’m not enough to provide it.
“Don’t leave me,” You say before falling asleep, your head leaned against my shoulder. I’m still unsure why you love me, but the way you say this sleepily reassures myself that you do.
You’ve since fallen asleep, wrapped in the warm embrace of a blanket, clinging to me sweetly. I touch the water with a fingertip, dreaming of a life with you. I’m scared of what that future holds, but it will be alright.
You love me too, and that is what the moon reminds me of, most of all.
