“I… I’ll make you something one day," Nepheli says, babbling now. Filling in the silence with words to stopper the jittery excitement. “An old recipe from my home. I think you’d like it.”
“I would. I’d like that a lot." Roderika smiles sweetly at her before she leans in for a kiss.

Cass’s lips are soft, and wind-chapped.
Steph cups her face in her palm, fingertips tracing the filigree of an old scar from her jawline, down to the hollow of Cass’s throat until it dips beneath the black leather seam of her Batgirl suit.
When Cass sighs into her mouth, affection steeps Steph’s heart with giddy warmth. It feels so good. Especially after they’ve been dancing around each other for god knows how long now.

Stephanie Brown bounced off the mattress and was jolted awake by what she thought was an earthquake. Her shocked exclamation was rudely interrupted when Cass covered her mouth with her hand. It was déjà vu in the most jarring sense of the word. A sensory overload from head-to-toe that Steph was totally unprepared for.
“I’m not an earthquake,” Cass said simply.
“Yeah?” Steph rebutted. “Well, you could have fooled me!” But what came out instead was a muffled: “Mfhh! Mhmm hmmph mmpfhhh!"
