"Hyung? What is that?" Jimin asked as the sound of a metal object dropping burst out from his phone speaker.
Yoongi, on the other side of the screen, glanced behind. He suddenly stood up from his table and bustled around somewhere off-camera. Jimin heard some more muffled sounds followed soft mutterings. he couldn't help but giggle in amusement at his boyfriend's antics. He could already imagine his boyfriend with a pout on his face fixing whatever it was that took his boyfriend's attention from him.
A few minutes later, his boyfriend's silhouette graced his screen again.
"Sorry, babe. That was Holly. He was eating and..." Jimin just nods along as he listened to his lover launch into a full-blown story on how Holly is always seeking his attention. Today morning Holly ruined one of his home slippers and now the food bowl was toppled over. Yoongi rambled on about how he was no idea how it could happen while Jimin just smiled fondly.
For someone who is home almost 24 hours a day, Yoongi is quite busy. With his branch manager pestering him about not transferring branches and not seeing his boyfriend who is in another city 2 hours away, it is slowly driving Yoongi mad and restless. You see, they were supposed to move out together 3 months ago. But alas his branch manager, that damn sneaky Mr Choi, negotiated secretly with the branch manager in Daegu and managed to keep Yoongi in Daejeon for another 3 months to work the project that he is a part of. In disbelieve, Yoongi can do nothing but agree since 1. he is getting paid with the salary of his new job (which is a plus since he got a massive raise) and 2. he has affection for this project that he worked tirelessly on for months. Yoongi being Yoongi, managed to convince Mr Choi into letting him work from home and only go into the office if necessary as he is technically not part of the staff body anymore. And now, here he is home all alone in the previously-shared-apartment with Jimin, multiple packed storage boxes stacked in the corner of the living room clearly reminding him of what he planned to do 3 months ago.
When Yoongi told Jimin they can't move out together, he felt so frustrated with himself. Jimin had already had a reputation for being an amazing dance instructor here in the small town they were residing at. He taught at a nearby academy and was always fawned over by the parents of his students. Some of them even visit their apartment unannounced to drop off some side dishes or baked goods to share. They almost always bump into some of Jimin's students when they went on walks in the park with Holly. He felt so guilty asking Jimin to move to a town completely new to him, to completely uproot his life here and leave behind hopeful students. But Jimin that angel, bless his heart, took the news positively and stated that he has a good friend who is opening a new dance studio in Daegu and is looking for a business partner that is also an instructor. He was guilty for making Jimin move alone but knowing that he has a trusted friend there reassured him.
"How was your class today, babe?"
"It was great. Today was Yeon's birthday and he bought us all coffee and muffins during our break!" Yeon was the other instructor together with Jimin and his friend, Taehyung. "I should really bring you here for our dates. I wanna try their cakes. Tae said their crepe is bomb too. Oh yeah, and he was asking me about Holly. Apparently, Yeontan hides under the table when he wants attention. Does Holly do that too? He never hid from me."
"That's because he is always busy running away when you chase him. He does that sometimes, especially in the past few weeks. You know how I can get carried away." Jimin pouts in response. His boyfriend is notorious for getting lost in his work too often. Yoongi continued, "He hid in one of the storage boxes today because I did not play with him long enough in the morning. He's so cute"
Jimin smiles again as his boyfriend coos. He buried himself even deeper under his blanket.
"Hyung, when are you gonna sleep? Its getting late you know." Jimin muttered through yawns.
Yoongi got up from his table and moved to the bed. He tucked himself in and curled up next to Holly.
"After this maybe. I think I need to go through some of my stuff. Hyun was asking to borrow a coat for his presentation on Monday. I guess I can give him one of mine that I can't fit into anymore. Are you tired, Min?"
Jimin nods. "Today's class was intense. The kids are preparing for their performance next week. You coming?" Yoongi hums in agreement.
Comfortable silence rang through the phone screens in both of their rooms. Jimin shifted his position on the bed as he turned to his sides. They were comfortable just being in each other's presence, staring into each other's eyes.
"I miss you, hyung." He softly whispers.
"I miss you too, you know. Holly misses you too."
"I know." Jimin yawns. "I wish you were here. I want to decorate this place with you. It feels so quiet without you."
"Here too. I miss you singing in the shower every morning. I don't even get to sleep in."
"Hey! You really should be waking up that early every day." Jimin retaliates and giggles.
"I miss your cuddles." Yoongi pouts.
"I miss yours too. I want you to be here." Jimin confesses softly. "One more week."
"Just one more week," Yoongi echoed. "And I'll be there."
