Work Text:
It's been a cold winter. So freezing cold that on some days your still partly wet and freshly washed hair was covered in tiny ice crystals, looking like the damn leftovers in the freezer.
It only needed you to step outside of your door to make you look like an ice block on your fucking head.
Every other day for the past few weeks you had to call your house manager to refreeze the damn heater because that thing kept stop working and you slept with three pairs of socks, two heating pads, fully clothed in your tiny futon.
And when you're saying fully clothed, you mean it. Thick sweatpants, tights underneath, socks, tshirt, sweater, Parka, gloves and a hat. Plus… The heating pads and two blankets.
For some fucking reason the temperature in Japan fell down to minus 25, even minus 35 degrees Celsius at one point.
Meteorologists had no real explanation for that as well but they calculated the Antarctic cold would be gone in two weeks. Hopefully.
Schools were closed, some people started working from home if it was possible. Most of them still tried to get to work because their offices were heated. Overhead wires froze so trains couldn't go anywhere.
It was weird. Really weird. Sometimes there was no power, anywhere. And people got told to not stay outside for so long, let alone late into the evening and nights.
Since you worked at a bookstore not far from your apartment, you had to get outside and try to sell books, although nobody came, obviously. But it was oddly comfortable and warm between the huge bookshelves, so you didn't mind anyways. At least you couldn't see your own breath at work. And you managed to sell some books online and it was interesting that people now asked for books, romances and stuff that took place in a warm environment. They asked for these kind of books specifically.
After your shift at work on one of the minutes 35 degrees days, you sighed deeply into your big scarf when you grabbed the De-Icer spray to be able to close the goddamn store. Again the lock had been frozen as hell.
It was already 7pm and you knew you should hurry back home since it would only get colder by the seconds going by. And by now you couldn't really feel your feet anymore. Swinging your bag over your shoulder, you made your way back home.
Your way home brought you through a park, normally filled with dozens of people in the spring. Even in winter people came here to play with their dogs. But Noone was here. Not a single soul.
Your friend, Denki, had told you to avoid going to that park alone and maybe he was right, but it was the fastest way home and you were already late.
Half of the lights inside the park were out, not working due to the cold. And it was creepy really, especially when you heard steps behind you. Getting faster, not even trying to be silent.
Maybe just another person being late, you thought to yourself but gasped, when you got knocked off of your feet, falling face first into the snow.
Angry you turned to face the bastard and yelled at him.
"Can't you fucking watch where you're going??" you looked into strangely cold blue eyes and into a man's face, covered with scars. Half of his face was a scar, skin stapled to his face.
You yelped in horror when you realized…
"Dabi" you whispered and the man, towering you, smirked.
"It kinda turns me on when people know my name" he chuckled. "I seem to have a reputation, huh?"
Shaking from either the cold or the fear or both, you didn't dare to move.
"Give me your money and I don't have to slit your throat. Got me?" he grinned and held out the sharp knife, you had seen in multiple occasions by now. He was a known criminal. Robbery, mayhem, rape, murder.
With trembling hands, you could barely feel anymore, you rolled to your side a little to get your bag off of your shoulders and handed it over to him, without leaving his eyes.
"Good Girl" he said and smirked again, throwing the backpack over his shoulder.
"Please just… just take my wallet, I need my stuff!!" you begged, the air too cold to allow tears.
Dabi chuckled again. Wearing only his shabby coat, white, ripped t-shirt underneath, you stared at him in horror when he leaned down to press the cold blade against your throat.
You heard yourself whimper at the contact.
His eyes fixated on yours, blood lust visible on his face as he licked his bottom, burned lip, he grinned like a mad man. Dabi leaned in, his hot breath grazing your neck.
"Sorry, Sexy. Not possible" he whispered and just a second later you were out cold.
Minutes went by, maybe hours. Lying unconscious on the cold, snowy, frozen grass, unable to move.
Kirishima had the nightshift today. He didn't really mind the cold. His quirk made it possible for him to not feel that much cold. He was a rock, after all. A fucking bolder. One of the damn top heroes in his city, together with his buddies Tamaki, Bakugou and Shoto.
But tonight he was on duty alone, strolling through the park, when he saw something strange lying in the snow.
"What the-" he whispered to himself before he started running to get closer.
Realizing that it was a girl around his age, unconscious, his adrenaline pumped through his veins. Looking left and right, he didn't see anyone who could've harmed you. He fell to his knees next to you, felt your pulse and sighed, relieved.
Maybe hypothermia or frostbites, but she's alive and breathing, he noticed when your parka slowly, weakly rose and fell.
"Fuck" he cussed and took his backpack to get a blanket. Things the heroes had to bring in times like these.
Carefully he wrapped his arms around you, put the blanket around your shoulders tightly and picked you up, face pressed into his chest.
With soft but fast steps he made his way back to the agency not far from the park.
From the slight shaking you woke up, only to yell without making a sound when you realized you were being carried. Panicking you wanted to squirm and kick out but you just couldn't move.
"Don't worry, I'm Red Riot, I found you and I'll help you, okay? Try not to move! You could have frostbites and I don't want to hurt you." this wasn't Dabi's voice. Looking up slowly, shivering from the cold, your eyes met sun kissed skin, red, big eyes and reddish black, spiky hair.
"You're Red Riot" you said, weak. Though your voice sounded hoarse and raspy.
The man still moving looked down to find your staring gaze and grinned brightly.
"Yeah! That's me" he laughed. "I'll take care of you. Keep talking to me, okay? We don't want you to get unconscious again. How do you feel?" he asks.
"Fine" you answered and couldn't help the tiny laugh that left your sore throat. Kirishima answered with a chuckle.
"Why are you out so late?"
"Had to work" you croaked and tried to clear your throat.
He raised an eyebrow and fastened his steps.
"Work?! Wait! You're the girl from the bookstore!" he mostly said to himself and got even faster.
"Shit" the bookstore is where he needs to go on patrol. He knows, when it opens, he knows when it closes. Half past six.
"It's 10pm now, we've gotta get you out of your clothes and into the warmth. I'm taking you to the agency, okay? We have tea, we have sweets, blankets, pillows and stuff." his breath was fast by then. Your lips are blue, some parts of your neck as well. This is bad, he thinks to himself.
"Okay" you answered and pressed your face against his chest again.
He fell silent for a minute, only concentrating on getting you to the agency as fast as possible.
Out of breath, you felt him stopping in his tracks.
"We're here. You'll be fine" he told you, opened the door with his elbow and slowly walked inside to not shock you with the sudden heat inside.
You felt dizzy and weak, not even feeling most of your limbs anymore.
In the dim light of the agency, Kirishima could see your nose being blueish-red as well as your ears and cheeks.
"Okay, tiny Jack Frost" he chuckled to loosen the tension.
"We've got some warming nests prepared. Here are already a few people but I guess you'd want to have some privacy since we need to get you out of your clothes" he explained and walked past the already sleeping people the others had found during their patrols.
Tensing a little in his arms, your eyes grew wide.
"Wh-what?" you whispered, voice still not able to make any louder noises.
Looking up at the man you noticed his cheeks turning a bit pink.
"I'm sorry, this must be really hard to do. But you have to get out of your clothes. They're cold and even wet, you could.. Die… You know?"
Swallowing the dry lump in your throat, you gasped silently when Red Riot sat you down on the very back of the agency's first floor. Just now you noticed there were candles everywhere, blankets, pillows, sheets, clothes, first aid kits prepared next to every nest they'd build.
It was comfy here.. But you couldn't feel the warmth yet. The cold of your clothes clinging to your body, reaching deep within your veins.
"Are you able to move?" he asked, getting down on his knees next to you.
Trying to unzip your parka, your fingers still covered in gloves didn't move. They felt like an ice block, glued together.
Shaking your head, Kirishima swallowed and took a deep breath while he started to talk.
"Okay, then… are you giving me permission to take this all off?" he asked, looking at you, nervous though impatient.
Nodding, you turned your head to the side. Nobody could see you here. But you weren't happy that a foreign man would get you out of your clothes as well. You couldn't watch. You didn't want to. He was here to help. You knew that. But… Red Riot was extremely good looking and you'd lie to yourself if you'd say, you didn't like him ever since you've seen him patrolling for the first time.
Kirishima's hands worked fast, maybe even a little clumsy, as he unzipped your parka, took it off, grabbed your big hoodie and tried to get it over your head without moving your frozen arms too much.
"L-lay down" he softly commanded when you were topless, still wearing a bra and your shoes, jeans, tights, socks and underwear.
You did as he said and slowly, felt a little warmth against your back.
"The good thing is… It doesn't seem like your bodies got frostbites. Just your hands and feet maybe, some part of your face. But that's good. B-but I have to check it all, okay?" Kirishima asked again, trembling hands working on the buttons of your jeans.
"I-It's fine.. Just go on.. I don't wanna die" you softly chuckled and dared looking at him.
This was a mistake. His face was warped in concentration and one of his sharp teeth bit into his bottom lip, careful not to hurt you.
He looked so damn sweet and handsome wearing his damn hero outfit..
When he slipped your tights over your bare legs, you felt that his hands were warm. Nice and heated, like a tiny heating pad.
It felt good to finally be out of these cold, wet clothes…
His eyes roamed over your body. You knew his wasn't because he was checking you out, but because he needed to see of you had serious frostbites somewhere underneath your clothes.
"Ears, Nose, cheeks, parts of your neck, hands, feet and knees. This must be all. That's good. I'll wrap you in a blanket now, get you some sweets and tea and I'll stay close, okay? If you feel weird, tell me. If you get unconscious again, I'll call the ambulance." he explained while throwing those paramedic blankets over your half naked body, before he took another one, a cozy one to put it on top. Kirishima tugged it in, picking you up shortly, to place you on a cozier place in your nest. Pillows and blankets underneath your frozen body, he put some next to you to secure you in place. Placing bandaids over your feet and hand, he walked away to get some sugared tea.
Looking around you realized that you'd been here before. This was Fatgums agency. You had visited this place once with your classmates back when you'd been in High School. You were quirkless so you had entered college.
But you did remember when you'd entered this agency for the first time.
Fatgum had always been your favorite pro hero.
Now though.. Things were different.
When Red Riot came back, smiling, a cup of tea in his hands, he got back down to his knees and blew onto the hot liquid.
"You should wait a little before you drink it, okay?" he said and put it down next to him.
"How do you feel? A little better? Wanna sleep a bit?" Kirishima shifted nervously and sat down next to you.
Shaking your head you tried to move the body parts, you couldn't quite feel. It was no use though.
"I-I'm still really c-cold, I guess" you stuttered, half from embarrassment, half from the cold.
Kirishima was silent for a minute, redhead tilted in thought. His face suddenly lit up, getting beet red at his own thoughts.
"I know of just one thing to do but I'm not sure if you'd be okay with that" he rubbed his neck sheepishly.
"If you think it's okay, then I'm okay with it, too" you croaked, clearing your throat again.
Kirishima swallowed hard. Get yourself together, man, he thought. This isn't about a half naked girl, it's about saving her life!!
"W-well, okay, then…" he drifted off as he started taking off his mask, the shoulder pads and sleeves. Confused you just stared at him and gasped when you understood what he was about to do.
He reached for his belt and opened it, just to slip out of the rest of his costume and smiled embarrassed when he found your wide open eyes.
"I-I can still-"
"N-no, it's fine. I-it's okay" you blushed and looked away to not stare at his muscular naked torso, wearing black, loose fitting boxer briefs that hung way too low.
"Okay" he whispered, stepped into your nest and lifted the blankets to crawl behind you. Immediately you took in the amazing scent of him. Manly, sunny and warm.
Your whole body started shivering at the sudden contact from skin to skin, chest pressed against your back, legs circling your body, arms slowly wrapping around your core to pull you a little closer to his warmth.
Red Riot was indeed not infected by the cold. He was warm and soft.. And he felt really nice. The blankets now wrapped around both of you, you flushed a very deep red, when his hips connected to your lower back to give you as much body contact as possible. You felt his heart beating fast against your back, knowing your own was just as fast.
"I-is that better?" he asked, shifting nervously, seemingly uneasy and unsure if he was helping or making you feel even more uncomfortable.
You nodded and softly leaned back against him, enjoying his warmth, feeling it heating your body slowly.
His arms came back to the front after tugging the blankets closer and wrapped around your naked waist. He was sweating, you could feel it. But you didn't mind.
"Thank you" you whispered and closed your eyes, absentmindedly rubbing against him for more warmth.
"N-no problem" his voice cracked a little and he cleared his throat.
It was silent for another few minutes, Kirishima kept completely still as if he'd be too embarrassed to move.
"What's your real name, Red Riot?" you asked, voice getting heavy and tired, but comfortable with his warmth.
"It's Eijiro Kirishima" he answered shortly and tensed when you leaned even further into his hold.
"W-what's yours?"
"(Y/N) (L/N)" you softly chuckled, voice slowly coming back.
"Nice to meet you, (Y/N)" Kirishima answered, relaxing slowly.
"Nice to meet you too, Eijiro" you lifted your head to look up at him only to drop your gaze immediately when you found him biting on his lip, embarrassed.
"How old are you?"
"23, what about you?" he responded, taking a very deep breath.
"22" it again fell silent after that for a few minutes before Kirisja spoke up again.
"What happened to you in the park?"
"I had an encounter with Dabi.. He..
He took my backpack. I don't have any ID cards anymore.." You whined softly, realizing just now that Kirishima's thumb softly brushed against your stomach every now and then. He didn't seem to realize himself since he didn't stop.
You didn't mind. It felt nice to be held like this. It felt nice to have someone close. To have him close. It made you feel extremely tired and comfy and your eyes fell shut again.
Kirishima answered something, the vibrations of his voice sent a cozy feeling straight through your body. He was mad at first but he spoke silent and comforting soon and it was nice to listen to him. His low, husky voice ringing in your ears, like a song you loved very dear. You hummed from time to time as an answer to his words, although you couldn't even concentrate on what exactly he was saying.. Just the sound of his voice and how it made you feel safe and secure.
"I'm tired, Eijiro… Can I sleep here? Your skin is so warm and soft.. I could stay here forever" you mumbled, sleepy. You didn't realize what you were saying, being lost in his warmth and enjoying his proximity.
"Sure" he whispered, making himself more comfortable by leaning back, while you, oblivious to your own actions, pressed him further down to cuddle up to his chest. Hands resting on the hard surface of his warm skin, as you turned to lay down his chest, smiling at his fast beating heart, listening to soft spoken words, hoping this moment would never end.
The light was bright when you woke up in a foreign environment. Eyes squinted, they slowly got used to the brightness, your ears taking in sounds of rustling and low talking.
"Kirishima?" you asked, voice still raspy but it actually did make a sound.
"I'm here. You're fine. The ambulance came to pick you up, you're in a hospital right now, Jackie Frost" he chuckled and you turned your heavy head towards the sound of his voice and tried to open your eyes properly.
Finding his smile your heart felt warm immediately. Trying to smile back, you whined when your skin felt incredibly tense.
"Mrs. (L/N)" a foreign voice called for you and you turned your head back to look into the doctors face.
"How do you feel? You've had several frostbites and were hypothermic. But thanks to Red Riot, we could exclude any further injuries or damages. You'll be fine in a few days." she explained and you rubbed your eyes, noticing that you could move them again. They were still a little blue and white, but you felt them again and you could move at least way better than the last time you had tried.
"I can feel my toes!" you cheered weakly and heard Kirishima chuckle. It made your heart jump in joy.
"That's very good!" the doctor said and gave you a smile. "Get some rest, try to move your hands and feet every now and then, alright? I'll leave you alone now, but I'll be back in a few hours."
"Thank you" you responded and tried to sit up a little further. The sheets were so incredibly soft and warm… But nothing could beat Kirishima's warmth..
When the doctor left, it fell silent in the room. You didn't know what to say. Red Riot had rescued you, had cuddled with you to prevent you from turning into one ice block and now he was sitting here, looking after you.
Did every hero do that?
"Kirishima" you called for him again and turned to look at him, only to find him struggling with his mask. It seemed like he needed to scratch his nose but couldn't reach underneath without taking the mask off.
You giggled at the sight and he noticed your gaze, flushed red and turned his face embarrassed.
"Shall I help you?" you asked him, eying him up and down while he didn't look. He was back in his hero costume and…
Hell… This man was something else.
"Nah, I'm fine! I'm just…" Kirishima took a deep breath and turned back to face you.
"I'm glad you're doing okay. I was really worried, you know? I couldn't tell you, but your body was so damn blue, I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing.. And when I called the ambulance after you fell asleep o-on me, I was happy they told me you'd be fine."
"Are you always that worried about the people you're saving?" you softly raised and eyebrow and smiled at him.
"Y-yes!" his cheeks flushed again. "Why're asking?"
Playing with the rim of your blanket, you bit your lip.
"You're a Pro Hero, right? I didn't think they had so much time to wait until the person they saved woke up again"
Kirishima pouted and scoffed. It was incredibly cute.
"Well.. No! We don't usually have that much time.. But.. I kinda really wanted to know if you're alright, s-so yeah." he nervously explained.
"Thank you, Eijiro. Really. You saved me. And I'm very, very thankful for that. For… Everything you did. It was kind of embarrassing since I really like you but-"
"Would you go on a date with me?" Kirishima interrupted your rambling, ears red by now.
Your heart skipped a beat, lips parted in disbelief.
"Wh-what?" you asked, now getting nervous as well.
Scratching the back of his head, he gave you a crooked, nervous smile.
"I mean.. You don't have to! You can say no.. But.. I'd really, really like to uhm.. take you on a date.. Some time."
Adrenaline pushing through your veins, you just stared at him, eyes wide.
After a few moments Kirishima stood and bowed.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable! I guess.. It's just.. There's a reason why I know the times the bookstore closes.. And.. And maybe I've been walking around that store more often than necessary just to uhm.. See you're there and okay. I'm so sorry, I'll go now." he turned to go when your weak, heavy hand reached out for him. He'd been watching you secretly.. Maybe others found that weird. But knowing that Kirishima was a shy man when it came to the other gender, it was actually just cute in your eyes.
"No! Wait!" you called for him and he slowly turned back around, grimacing embarrassed.
"I'd love to go on a date with you, Eijiro Kirishima" you chuckled and gave him a bright smile.
It took him a few seconds before his handsome face lit up as well and he fully turned to sit back down, taking your hand into his own.
"That's great! I-I could cook for you and we could watch a movie if you'd like" he said enthusiastically, his sunny appearance getting even sunnier with the happy smile on his lips.
You nodded, smiling. "I'd love to"
"Then it's a date!" he stated as if he needed to make it sure to himself.
"It's a date" you giggled and he stood up again, placed a soft kiss on the back of your hand and walked to the door.
"I'll come visit you tomorrow, Beauty Cool. Take care, okay?" he gave you a really sweet smile, reaching up to his eyes. Not that his other smiles hadn't been honest, but this one was filled with so much joy and happiness that you ever wondered how you could've felt so cold just hours ago. He was warm and bright like the sun, funny and handsome and sweet.
"See you tomorrow, Bolder" you answered to the nicknames he gave you and giggled.
His face lit up within seconds as he grasped into nothing, wanting to get the door handle. Confused that he hadn't managed to do so, he tried again and opened the door.
"B-bolder.. I-I like that" he laughed nervously.
"See ya, Eijiro" you shooed him away with a laugh and he nodded vehemently, still frozen in place before he finally moved again and left.
You still giggled when he was gone, face hot and heart beating rapidly. When had you ever met a man who was so… Like him? Handsome, strong, bad ass, beautiful! Funny, shy, soft and gentle, sweet and caring?
Never. There was just one. Just this one.
Eijiro Kirishima. I'm fallen for Eijiro Kirishima.
It's been two weeks since the incident with Dabi. The day of your date with Kirishima.
You'd been in the hospital for another four days. On your second day Kirishima came to visit to get you your backpack, filled. Everything was back there, the only thing missing was your cash. Everything else had been there.
If you would've been strong enough, you would've jumped out of bed to crush him on your arms, but since you were still quite weak, you decided to do all of this once the date would take place.
The other week you'd been a work again, Kirishima waving from outside the huge windows whenever he passed by, giving you a smile that warmed your heart. Sometimes he came inside to bring a hot chocolate. Denki, your childhood friend, kept laughing at Kirishima's behavior.
"Damn, that guy's fallen. Deep." he said on a daily basis.
Did he? Was Denki right? Could Red Riot, a Pro Hero, loved by so many, be fallen for a girl he barely knew. A quirkless person, nobody knew? Could he?
Hair up in a high ponytail, you were glad you could finally dress normal again. For two days the temperature had risen up to minus 5 degrees. So no more ten layers of clothes… Instead you grabbed your black winter boots, a pair of skin colored tights, a black tight fitting, thick, cozy turtleneck dress and your big olive colored parka and you were ready to leave.
'I'm on my way' you texted him, standing outside of your apartment to call a taxi.
It took him ten minutes to answer. Your phone buzzed when you were already on your way to his apartment.
'Can't wait, beauty cool ;)'
Once the cab stopped in front of a nice looking apartment complex, your heart started racing. Was it inconvenient to have the first date in the dudes home?
"No, it isn't" the driver answered and you blushed, realizing you had said it out loud.
You nodded, embarrassed handed over the money and got outside.
Once you rang the bell, your legs felt wobbly. Snow started to fall into the darkness of today's late evening.
"Hey there Beauty Cool!!" Kirishima answered the door, sounding quite stressed but still as excited and happy as always.
"H-hey, Kirishima" you answered, biting away your way too excited smile at the sound of his voice.
"I'm on the third floor, the door is open! I need to get back to the kitchen! Just let yourself in, okay?" he laughed nervously and hung up. Just a second later you heard the door buzzed open and you entered into a nice Loggia, held in a warm light brown. Taking the stairs up to the third floor, you saw the fourth door standing open.
Approaching it with slow, shaking steps, you pushed the door open gently only to get greeted by the dim, warm lights of candles.
Everywhere. It was light enough to see all of your surroundings.
"Wow" you gasped and took your shoes off, hearing Kirishima cuss in the kitchen. Next to his door was a wardrobe, where you hung up your parka and closed the door behind you.
It was warm inside this huge, beautiful apartment. It smelled like him… you immediately felt comfortable here. Following the short hallway into the lighter area, you got into his kitchen, dining, living room and gave him a warm, happy smile when you saw him struggling with the selfmade takoyaki.
Hands intertwined in front of your stomach, nervously fidgeting with them, you got closer when he didn't notice you were there already.
"Hey" you said again, voice soft, and he lifted his head immediately to welcome you with a bright, toothy grin. It fell, seconds later, when he eyed you up and down several times.
"Pebble. You look… absolutely gorgeous" Kirishima swallowed and even in the dim light, you could see his cheeks burning red, matching your own at his words.
Pebble? You giggled inwardly and approached him slowly.
"Thank you, Eijiro" you whispered, biting your lip nervously, looking at him while he tried to turn the takoyaki skilfully while you watched him.
"You look really handsome yourself" you said, getting even closer. The way his sleeves were rolled up, his strong hands working on the food, you could only feel your heart beating even faster than it already did.
Kirishima tensed when he felt your arm brushing his own, trying a nervous smile.
"Do you want something to drink? I've got water, tea, alcohol-"
"Alcohol" you answered immediately. It couldn't hurt to have some drinks to loosen up, your last date was.. Longer ago.
Kirishima chuckled, reached into one of his cabinets and pulled out a bottle of Sake, with it two tiny glasses.
"Jackie Frost" he put the glasses down in front of you and grinned. "We don't want you to get cold again, don't we?"
Laughing you filled both glasses and handed one of it over to him.
"Thanks! The damn Takoyaki are not easy to handle" Kirishima apologized for not being able to pour the liquid in himself.
"They smell delicious" you answered, clicked your glass against his and drank it up in one go.
This was easy. Being with Kirishima. He was a talkative guy, funny, smart, clumsy at times, which made it even more comfortable for you. Kirishima wasn't perfect, he knew that, and he didn't do shit trying to hide that fact. He was completely himself, showing all of it to you. It was a sign of trust for you.
Kirishima tried to hide his victorious smile but failed and you giggled.
"Another one?" you asked, Sake already back in your hand.
"Yes, please!" he answered way too fast and put his glass back in front of you.
When he finished cooking - Takoyaki, Soboro Don and some ice cream as dessert - he led you towards his table, pushing the chair back so could sit down.
"Gentleman" you laughed silently, cheeks and ears Red, matching Kirishima's. The sake was already showing its effects.
"Everything for you, Pebble" he chuckled and sat down in front of you.
Watching him closely, as he started talking about his daily hero stuff and school, you found yourself staring at him admiringly, head resting on your hand, head tilted to the side. The candles threw soft shadows on his handsome face and the white dress shirt he wore.
It was warm and comfy in here. Not just because of the atmosphere he had created but also because whenever you looked at him, heat started spreading through your whole body.
"I'm sorry, I'm rambling about myself.." Kirishima sighed and ran a strong hand through his spiky hair, making the muscles on his arm dance deliciously.
"Oh no! It's fine, it's really interesting to listen. You must've seen and experienced so many things by now!" you beamed at him. You didn't mind that he was talking a lot, and a lot about work, that is. It seemed to calm him down, since his shaking hands told you he was still nervous.
"And I really like your voice" you flirted softly, looking at him through hooded eyelashes.
Kirishima's chopsticks fell out of his hands and he coughed embarrassed.
"You uhm.. You think you?" he asked sheepishly, sitting up a little straighter.
Taking one Takoyaki between your lips to bite down, you nodded, not leaving his eyes.
Your other hand pointed to the sake and you raised your eyebrow in silent question.
"Good idea" he swallowed hard, stood and poured some more into both of your glasses.
"Thank you, Eijiro. For inviting me." You added, when you found his confused expression.
"This is fun and the food is absolutely delicious. You're a great cook" you smiled at him and sat your now empty sake glass back down.
"I'm glad" he just answered and returned the smile.
You kept talking, asking him questions, wanting to know more about him. You'd talk about yourself another time. Not that he didn't ask questions, but it wasn't easy for you to open up and maybe Kirishima's immediate trust could help you with loosening up.
"I never thought, I'd be here one day, you know? When I look at my classmates.. They were more fitting for the job. I'm trying my best, but I will never be as good as the others" he said, head hanging low.
"Why do you think so?" you asked him, now worried about why he'd say something like that. People loved him. He was in the Top 20 and you could buy his merch on every corner, next to Ground Zero's, Deku's, Shoto's.
Just now you understood though what kind of pressure a hero had. Not that they'd just fight and risk their life for others, which was… Already way too much to ask. But this ranking… you'd feel judged and watched every single minute if you'd be a hero. You're not allowed to make mistakes, not allowed to fail, not even allowed to die. Everyone is watching, everyone is expecting, everyone is judging…
"To me.. You're the best Hero in the whole wide world. You saved my life, Eijiro. And I'll always be endlessly thankful for that. You're strong and smart and funny" you giggled at your own words, reaching over the table to intertwine your hands. He jumped slightly, then smiled, embarrassed and squeezed softly.
"You're actually my favorite Hero, ever since you started working for Fatgum" you sheepishly admitted and laughed.
"I've always admired you and I don't think your self assessment should be this low. You are amazing, do you hear me?"
Kirishima didn't dare to answer. Instead he flashed you a nervous smile and gave your hand another loving squeeze.
After dinner you settled down in the comfortable nest he had built all around his couch. The movie, 'Sleepless in Seattle', running, you moved closer to Kirishima when he let himself fall down into the mess of pillows and blankets.
"Comfortable?" he asked, one arm resting on the back rest when you moved even closer, legs touching by now. Kirishima tensed softly at the contact but didn't complain.
Half way through the movie you stretched a little in your position and looked up at Kirishima who was deeply concentrated on the romance movie, HE had picked.
His features were immaculate..
Sharp jawline, strong high cheekbones, eyelashes full and long, like every girl wished to have, nose, manly but sweet and a little pointy, sharp teeth showing from time to time when he smiled or reacted in any kind to the movie. His lips.. Full, rosy, curved by the gods.
At some point he caught you staring and went incredibly red.
"D-do I have something in my face? Chocolate maybe?" he asked, nervously wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
Your heart was racing by now, hands sweaty as one came up to rest softly on his big, muscular thigh. He silently gasped but didn't move, eyes locked with yours, fiery red and endlessly deep.
Nodding you licked your lips and lifted your head further. His eyes went bigger, eyebrows furrowed in concern or tension. Your left hand came up to find its way behind his neck, softly pulling him further in.
"Kirishima" you aspirated and leaned in. Eyes falling close when your lips met in a short, gentle kiss.
Immediately waves of heat spread through your whole body, making your head go dizzy, your arms and legs weak. The way he smelled… And tasted…
It took Kirishima a few seconds to process before he relaxed into the kiss and returned it, just as gentle. His lips felt incredibly soft. Like a feather brushing against your own, shyly tasting you before both of you pulled back to look at each other.
For a second you panicked, thinking he might didn't like it, didn't want it!
But the look in his dark, glistening eyes, told you otherwise, he was breathing faster.
And just moments later he dipped in again, this time with more pressure, more hunger. His teeth nibbled on your lower lip, asking for entrance and you gladly obeyed, moaning softly when you felt his slick, hot tongue treating your own with slow, attentive passion.
One hand coming up to your cheek, he brushed his thumb against your skin gently, while the other wrapped around you to support your back.
Leaning into his touch and kiss, you smiled while keeping your lips locked for minutes, maybe hours. You didn't care. Time stopped here. And as the movie kept running in the background, both of you were only focused on the person in front of them, smiling at each other before more kisses followed, over and over and over again.
Kirishima was very tender, very careful, very sweet. He never went too far, he never tried more, letting you decide where this should lead to. You loved it. His whole attention was directed to you, and only you. Your favorite Pro Hero melting into your kisses, gifting you with soft mewls and silent moans every now and then.
And although outside the temperature dropped down again into the late night of this day, inside of Kirishima's apartment, wrapped in his arms, close to his heartbeat, the only thing you felt was the comfortable heat of the person you had fallen in love with.
