“You need a date to the family holiday dinner and don’t tell me you don’t.” Jin Ling comes in and perches on the other end of Jiang Cheng’s desk, bracing one hand on the surface so he can lean around to look Jiang Cheng in the face. “Dajiu and Lan-jiujiu are insufferable and they’ll be hounding you if you come alone. You know how dajiu is. ‘I want everyone to be as blissfully happy as I am!’”
Now it’s Jiang Cheng’s turn to roll his eyes. Not because Jin Ling’s wrong. It will make the entire evening go more smoothly if he doesn’t arrive alone. Only— “Who do you have in mind?”
“She’s—” Jin Ling cuts himself off, dropping his gaze. “Well, she’s a friend of Dad’s side of the family—”
Jiang Cheng cocks his head. “Do I get to know her name before I go on this blind date, or do I get to be surprised?”
“Oh, you know her. Or at least I know you’ve met her before. Luo Qingyang.”
“Mianmian?” Jiang Cheng frowns. He’s met her a couple of times and she seems nice enough but— “I didn’t get the overall impression that she was…erm—” Jiang Cheng presses his lips together.
“Oh no, she’s into women.” Jin Ling grins. “But that’s perfect, right?”
