Summary
Bei Tang Moran, Emperor of Huang Dao Guo, the Zodiac Kingdom, Lord of the Aquarius Constellation was not one to take the idea of marriage lightly. Even, and especially, a marriage for political alliance.
An Emperor must sacrifice for his people. An Emperor must set an example. An Emperor was more a symbol than a person. Moran never really had the chance to be a person.
The arranged marriage between the Zodiac Kingdom and the Kingdom of the Immortal Martialists was not his first idea. Nor his second or his third. But when the Empress Dowager suggested the alliance, Moran knew that it was the only solution.
The Kingdom of the Immortal Martialists would never trust the Zodiac Kingdom with the Cetus flower otherwise. The Immortal Martialists needed food. They needed reassurance. They needed entanglement. They needed mutually assured destruction.
