Summary:

You used to be the lowly daughter of a Liyue Merchant. On the night of your arranged wedding you had fled to the harbor to hide. That was when you met her. The love of your life, Beidou. She had saved you from your miserable arrangement and brought you into the Crux Fleet. Six years have passed since then.

Notes:

I love Beidou so much. She holds a special place in my heart and my main team.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The salty breeze of the sea felt good on your skin. You stood leaned against the railing of the crow's nest. The ship was currently anchored off the coast of Guyun Stone Forest. The crew had heard from a merchant in Mondstadt that a mighty warrior known as the "Honorary Knight of Favonius" was headed towards Liyue Harbor. Beidou had caught interest in the rumors and decided to head back home to Liyue.

"(y/n), Beidou's looking for you," your friend Furong said, holding onto the ladder.

"She did?"

"Yeah."

"Ok, I'll go down right now, thanks Furong."

You jumped off of the crow's nest and used your wind glider to land on the bow of the ship. When you landed the Helmsman, Huixing stood looking at you with crossed arms.

"(y/n), you know what I said about using your wind glider when the ship is moving. What if you blow away," Huixing sighed.

"I'll be fine, I promise."

You ran down the steps and towards the captain's quarters. When you opened the door Beidou was sitting there with her feet up on the table.

"Ah! A cold beer after a hard day's work. Nothing like it!" she grinned at you.

"Furong said you were looking for me." You took a seat across from her.

"I was indeed. We're gonna be docking in Liyue Harbor by dusk tomorrow. Are you gonna be ok?"

"Yeah, it's been six years, I think I'm ready to go back. It's not like they can take me away by force either."

Beidou stood up from her chair and walked around her desk. She leaned down and kissed you on your forehead. "That's my (y/n). Strong and fierce. I knew it was fate that day."

You smiled and watched Beidou hold the door open for you. The two of you walked hand in hand down to your room. You couldn't remember exactly when you fell in love with her. Maybe it was the day she first rescued you or maybe it was one of the countless nights you spent stargazing with her. Maybe it was even during the sparring matches in the hot blistering sun. All you knew was that you were hopelessly in love with her.

"Even if they try and take you, I'll never let them," Beidou whispered.

Laying in bed together you could feel the ship moving. Beidou had your head against her chest while her arms were wrapped around your waist. She smelled like the sea.

"Alright, men we will be staying in Liyue for a week. Stock up on food and equipment since we'll be heading north again. Don't forget to contact your family while we're on dryland too," Beidou yelled from the front of the ship to the crew down below.

"I have a meeting with the Tianquan so until I get back (y/n) is in charge."

You watched Beidou grab her claymore and sheath it on her back. You didn't know how she was able to carry that thing around. You got back pain just from carrying your catalyst around.

"You heard the captain! Make sure to stock up on Cor Lapis and dried glaze lilies. We need more of them for trading," you yelled.

You stood up on the bow watching the crew carry boxes onto the ship and off of the ship. After a while you supposed that they had things under control and left the ship yourself. It had been a long while since you had last set foot in Liyue Harbor. You missed it a little. You wondered how the little girl you used to babysit, Xiangling was doing. Six years ago she was 8. So now she would be around 14.

"(y/n), is it a pleasure to see you in Liyue again," a deep voice said from behind you.

"Oh hello, Zhongli. It has been quite some time. It's a pleasure to see you again too."

"Who is that?" you asked curiously. A short blonde male stood beside Zhongli.

"This is Aether. He is new to Liyue. We are actually preparing a mourning perfume for Rex Lapis."

"Rex Lapis? Are they ok? Did something happen to our Archon?" you asked worriedly.

"Unfortunately yesterday during the Rite of Passage ceremony Rex Lapis was murdered," Zhongli sighed.

"That's horrible," you frowned. "What will we do without our Archon to protect us?"

"I'm sure we'll be just fine, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Heyo Zhongli, it's been a while," Beidou appeared behind you.

"It has. Well, I shall be off. Aether and I have things we must attend to."

You watched Zhongli and the Aether boy walk off down the street.

"How was your meeting with the Tianquan?"

"Uneventful. I just reported that we took care of the treasure hoarder fleet."

"Well, that's good." You took a hold of her hand. "I missed you."

"I missed you too. Did you see anyone else familiar besides Mr. Zhongli?"

"No... I was about to go see my dad soon. Will you come with me?

"Of course I will. I wouldn't be much of a lover if I left you alone," Beidou smiled.

You walked the streets of Liyue hand in hand to your father's estate. Apparently, your younger sister had become one of the Qixing and your family moved to Yujing Terrace. Your younger sister had always been amazing. The last time you had seen her was when she was eleven. You walked up the steps in your blue qipao. Your vision hanging around your waist.

"(y/n)?" your sister opened the door to the mansion.

"Hello Keqing," you gave her a warm smile.

Keqing turned away and gave you a glare full of disgust. "Mother and father want to speak with you."

Keqing led you and Beidou to the sitting room where your parents were waiting.

"So your finally back. Are you done playing pirates now (y/n)?"

"I came back to tell you I don't plan on coming here ever again," you crossed your legs.

"Do not talk such foolish words (y/n). Ever since the cyro archon gifted you your vision you've been so cocky. Really I have no idea why on earth the Tsaritsa would give you of all people a vision," your mother huffed.

"I mean every word I say. The Crux Fleet has been more of a family to me in the past six years. I lived here for twenty long years and not once did I feel as at home as I did on the ship."

"You ungrateful-" your father stood up only to be blocked by Keqing.

"Father, if (y/n) wants to separate from the family then let her." Keqing turned to you. "But don't ever come crawling back here."

Your father cleared his throat. "Ahem. Fine. As of today, the only young lady in this house is Keqing. (Y/n) is no longer part of this family. Please escort her out."

You left the estate holding Beidou's hand for comfort.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Beidou said while tucking a piece of your hair behind your ear.

"Yes. That place was never my home," you stared into her gorgeous red eyes. "My home is wherever you are."

She laughed and gave you a hug. "How did I get so lucky?"
