"Hobi hobiiii!!" Jimin called out as he ran up to hug his friend when he came through the door and practically clung to him like a little koala. "I thought you would never make it!! ...which is hilarious seeing as how you live here and all–"
Hoseok fainted a sheepish smile and laughed while hugging Jimin in return. "My gift for Yoonie wasn't ready when they said it would be. I was lowkey panicking, okay?? But I have it now and I'm here." Hoseok pulled back then looked around as he slipped off his coat. "The icy roads didn't help either. So...where is everyone else?"
Jimin chuckled "Joonie is still out with Yoongi, Taetae is playing with Mickey and Tannie, and Jin and Kookie haven't gotten here….yet." He looked back at Hoseok "So…..?"
Hoseok tilted his head "So?
"Let me see it!" Jimin huffed out
"No! I'm not taking it out until I give it to Yoonie. It's already wrapped and everything." Hoseok said as he pulled out a box from the bag in his hand. He walked over to the tree and placed the present under it, along with 5 others.
"Whoa, hold up. What are all of those?! You got presents for everyone, didn't you?" Jimin asked
"Was I not supposed to? Aren't we having a gift exchange?"
"Hobi…." Jimin facepalmed and laughed "The whole point of picking names is so you know who you're getting a gift for. Everybody picked names to get that one person a gift."
Hoseok blinked and stared down at the small pile of presents "Then I guess everyone is getting two gifts tonight."
"Somehow I think you would've gotten everyone something anyway…"
Hoseok smiled with his eyes and a small grin appeared in his lips "Maybe~ Maybe not. Who knows?"
"Yeah, you definitely would have."
"I'm not slow, Minnie. You know I can't have Christmas without getting everyone something. Plus I haven't seen all of you in forever so shut up and enjoy your gifts."
Jimin laughed as he covered his mouth "Since when do you talk like that? Yoongi's been rubbing off on you."
"Is that a bad thing?"
"No, it's just adorable and cute. That's all. My little Hobi used to be so shy and innocent~ Now look at you. Mr. Bad boy" Jimin mused and laughed more until he was pushed over onto the couch by his friend. "Taaeetaaaee, Hobi's being meeeaaan!!" Jimin whined out loud enough for his friend to hear.
A few moments later Taehyung walked into the room, both Tannie and Mickey in his arms then went over to the couch and handed Hoseok his baby.
Hoseok's attention went straight to Mickey as he cuddled and nuzzled him in his arms. "How's my boyyy? Did you miss me while I was gone?" His question was answered with an onslaught of licks to the face.
"Taetae! My life saver!" Jimin chimed out and jumped up to pet Tannie. "And you brought me my son!"
"Our son," Tae corrected and laughed "I only saved you cause it's Christmas." He teased
"So you're taking his side??"" Jimin huffed and pouted
"I'm taking the dogs' side"
"Seriously?? Why are we even friends!?" Jimin said dramatically then stormed off to the kitchen leaving Hoseok laughing from where he now sat on the couch.
Taehyung sat next to him and sat Yeontan in his lap but of course he didn't stay. He bolted up and ran over to Hoseok, tackling Mickey then the two started fighting over one of Mickey's stuffed animals.
"No! No! Don't fight Don't fight!" Hoseok said quickly and went to puck Mickey up but Tae stopped him.
"It's ok. They're just playing. Tug of war, that's normal for dogs. Let them play."
"Fine, but no being ruff–"
Tae couldn't help laughing "I never imagined you as the strict parent. I always thought that'd be Yoongi. Hm..speaking of, where is he? I thought they'd be back by now."
Hoseok glanced to the door then to his phone. "I'm not sure. I thought for sure he'd be back before me. I don't see any messages from him either."
"They probably got caught in traffic. It was pretty backed up when me and Mochi came over here. I'm sure they're fine though. I'm more worried about Jin and Kookie. No one has heard from them all day."

"I swear to all that is holy if you make a stop at one more store before we get to go home– I'm going to end you." Yoongi grumbled as he shot glares at Namjoon from the passenger seat of the truck. "
Namjoon only responded with an innocent smile as he looked on forward to the road, dimples popping out instantly on his cheeks.
"It's funny how you think I'm joking. If Hoseok is already back at the house when we get there, I'm telling Minnie to cut you off for a year."
Namjoon's expression changed and his eyes narrowed. "Too bad for you He can't resist my handsome charms~" he retorted back then smirked
Yoongi laughed with a loud "HA!" adding in "You mean that chaotic mess you call a face?"
"That's the one~" Joon smirked as he pulled into yet another parking lot and Yoongi threw his hands up.
"For fuck sake, what else could you possibly need, Jooni??" Yoongi looked at the stare in front of him and went silent.
"You were saying?" Joon asked. " Unless you don't want to pick up his ring and you don't want to take it back to him so you can propose tonight then by all means, let's go back to your place."
"Oh shut the hell up." Yoongi snapped as he got out of the truck. He had been so annoyed with all the pit stops Namjoon had made since they left the house that he'd completely forgotten that they hadn't even picked up the engagement ring. Tonight was going to be a huge step in his and Hoseok's lives and he was all nerves and stress on the inside and out.
Namjoon put his hand on Yoongi's shoulder "hey, It's gonna be alright, man. I promise. Relax, okay?"
Yoongi sighed deeply " I've never been more sure of anything in my life, that I want to spend the rest of it with him, but I'm God damn a mess today. It's so fucking irritating. He admitted, "How the fuck did you do it with Jimin??"
Namjoon squeezed Yoongi's shoulder gently but firmly. They gave each other so much shit sometimes and joked around a lot. Calling each other names that normal people would most likely find offensive, that's just the kind of bond and friendship they had. A lot of times if they were in public, people would think they were actually fighting. They always had a good laugh about those times later in the day.
They knew not to take offense, neither of them really did that easily, and they understood it even if no one else did but when it came down to it, they were always there for each other. They were practically brothers. Beyond that. Jimin always half joked that Namjoon and Yoongi were platonic soulmates just like he and Taehyung were, but he was half serious too.
"You know, usually I'm the chaotic mess when it comes to shit like this but with Minnie…." Namjoon paused as his mind traveled back 3 years "It all happened in one huge blurred flash of emotions and tears, totally all on Minnie's part for that...haha." Joon chuckled, uncomfortably.
"Shut the fuck up. I heard all about your "Manly man tears". Jimin told Hoseok, we all had a good laugh about it." Yoongi interjected and smirked, his expression now seemed a bit calmer and he seemed a bit more relaxed. His best friend had that effect on him.
Namjoon cleared his throat "ANYWAY!! My point is...it was over and done with before I realized I had even asked him. I bet once we get there and the time comes, all that worry and anxiety will disappear."
"I know you're probably right," Yoongi forced a chuckle "Man, just smack me or somethin. I need to get my shit together."
Joon blinked then quickly raised his hand and struck the back of his best friend's head.
"What the fuck! I was KIDDING" Yoongi hissed
"Too late~" Namjoon laughed, then pushed Yoongi towards the store entrance "Come on, you wanna get back before Hobi, right? Then let's go." Just before they reached the door, Yoongi's phone went off. He dug it out of his pocket. "It's Jin." He held the phone to show Namjoon before answering. "Yo, Jin. What's–"
Yoongi immediately moved the phone away from his ear and scrunched up his face in annoyance. On the other end was nothing but yelling from what sounded like Jin and Jungkook going back and forth with each other.
"YAH!! Why the hell did you call then give me the phone??!" Jin shouted
"Can't you see I'm driving!??" Jungkook shouted in return.
"I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL"
"and that's why I did, JUST ASK HIM OR I WILL TURN THIS CAR AROUND AND GO HOME!"
"Listen here you little shit–" Jin had started to say but the call was cut off and ended leaving both Yoongi and Namjoon staring, dumbfoundedly and quiet at each other.
"They're at it again." Yoongi mumbled and Namjoon just nodded, adding in a "Yep." Before ushering his friend into the store.

Seokjin stared down his boyfriend as they made their way down the road. "We're lost aren't we?"
"What makes you say that?" Jungkook kept his eyes on the road as he answered.
"Maybe because this is our fifth time passing that noodle shop and newspaper stand. You should have written down the directions to get there instead of insisting you knew how."
Jungkook rolled his eyes "I don't need any backseat driving. If you think you can get us there faster, then you drive. Otherwise, zip it. Actually, just call them and ask."
Jin looked offended and shook his head as his arms flailed about "Don't you put this on me! I don't want to call them and be laughed at by Yoongi!"
"Well somebody's gotta do it. I'm tired of driving in circles and every time I pull over, you start bitching even more. Ugh…" Jungkook huffed then grabbed Jin's phone and glanced down. A few seconds later he tossed it over onto his boyfriend's lap.
"Listen here you little shit!" He hung up the phone, swiping the screen to close it. "You're lucky you're driving or I'd–"
"Don't threaten me with a good time, Hyung." Jungkook cut off Jin's words and Jin just sat there, unable to form a comeback to that. A few seconds passed and finally he spoke again.
"You don't even know what I was going to say." He had a pout to his voice and he even slumped down in the seat just slightly. It was enough for Jungkook to notice.
"Stop. You know I hate it when you do that, hyung. It's not fair." Jungkook mumbled after stealing a glance at the older male. But Jin didn't stop. "I swear you're such a baby sometimes."
"That must be why you hate me."
Jungkook deadpanned. "Right, I totally hate you. Yep, every little strand of hair, every inch of those plump lips, every little squeaking laugh that comes from them. I hate it all." He said and rolled his eyes.
"I knew it."
"Hyung I swear to god, if you don't stop it I'm gonna–"
"Don't threaten me with a good time, Jungkookie." Jin mocked playfully then looked out the window. The childishness in his tone made Jungkook roll his eyes again.
"You're lucky that I love you." He murmured. "You're also lucky that Hobi and Yoongi's present is in the back and I don't wanna fling him into the floorboard.
Jin looked over then to the backseat. "I'd straight up beat your ass if you did that." He replied with all the seriousness in his voice. The change in his tone gave Jungkooka verbal whiplash.
"I know. I'd deserve it too. Ugh....." Jungkook growled out his frustrations. Both of them were too damn stubborn and prideful to ask for help and it felt like they'd been driving around for hours.
"WAIT, THERE!!" Jin yelled, jumping up in his seat and pointing out the front window. They were stopped at a light when he saw a familiar car roll by. "Isn't that Jiminie's car??"
Jungkook squinted over the steering wheel. "Holy shit, it is!"
"Thank god, follow it!" Jin yelled
"I don't know if that's a good idea...look who's driving."
Jin narrowed his eyes to focus "Who the hell let– Minnie, what the fuck?? I can't believe he let Namjoon drive. And is that Yoongi with him?
"Most likely. I guess I'll follow. They'll need someone to call for help if he gets them stuck in a tree or some shit." Jungkook said as he pulled off after the light had changed and turned in the direction Namjoon had gone.
**********
Hoseok paced around the kitchen then went into the living room, through the dining room then back to the kitchen all while glancing at his phone to check the time. "It's getting so late," he said with a pout on his lips. "What if they don't make it? What if something bad happened?"
"They're fine. Don't get yourself all worked up like this." It was Taehyung who had spoken up, having followed Hoseok back into the kitchen while carrying Yeontan in his arms like a precious little baby. He nuzzled the top of his son's head, yes, Tannie was his son and if anyone ever said otherwise, they'd be dead to him. "You should relax, I put some soft christmas music on in the living room." He added as he picked up a piece of ham and fed it to Tannie who devoured it then hungrily licked at his fingers. "Jinnie and Kookie are fine, I promise. I can feel it."
Hoseok sighed as he stopped pacing. It was then that he noticed Mickey had been following him around the house. He leaned down and picked him up, kissing the tip of his nose.
"If not for you, for Mickey and Tannie. Animals can feel your stress and it makes them anxious." Taehyung was always giving little tidbits of info like that, especially when it came to dogs. There was a reason he'd been named one of the city's top animal behavioral specialists, his love for the furry four legged canines helped too.
"Okay okay, I'll go...but you and Minnie have to finish baking the cookies."
"I'll definitely finish all the cookies– I mean, finish baking the cookies~" Jimin said as he walked in. "They are my specialty afterall." He giggled then took Tannie from Taehyung and handed him over to Hoseok. "Puppy kisses help you relax too!" Jimin turned and quickly ushered Taehyung over to the counter then looked back at Hoseok. "Now go. Shoo shoo. We've got this."
Hoseok nodded as he walked out with both puppers. He plopped down onto the couch and nuzzled them both. Taehyung was right, the music was helping, the little puppy kisses too when he nuzzled them but unfortunately they were a bit rowdy. They loved to give their kisses but Mickey and Tannie wanted to play. They wiggled out of Hoseok's arms then scurried over across the couch to a few toys that were there.
Tannie dragged one of them onto the floor, shaking it with his head and Mickey ran up to snatch it before running and darting away underneath the Christmas tree. Okay, he wasn't getting puppy kisses but just watching the babies play was relaxing enough. Their little yips and barks made him smile. It was too bad Taehyung couldn't bring Tannie over more often. Mickey loved having a buddy to play with. Sometimes Hoseok would take him to the studio. A lot of the kids there loved him and for some, Mickey was the highlight of their visit.
Hoseok laud across the couch, just watching the two run around the base of the tree. Both were so small that they could without really getting caught in the tree limbs. If Hoseok didn't know any better he'd swear up and down that they were playing some form of hide and seek. But dogs didn't know anything about that….or did they?? He'd ask Tae about that later cause now he was curious.
The house was starting to smell like chocolaty goodness from the cookies and Hoseok's stomach growled. Dinner was done but they couldn't eat until EVERYONE was there and after they opened gifts. That's how it always went. Usually their friends would start arriving around noon. They would all talk and converse, catch up on how their lives had been while the dogs played. This was only Mickey's second Christmas but his playtime with Tannie was now part of the tradition. Afterwards they would all sit around the living room and exchange gifts.
Hoseok looked up when he heard a bit of commotion at the front door, mostly because both dog's attention went to the door as well. They sensed it before he did. Hey set up quickly on the couch and started to go over to the door but it opened before he got there, and in walked Yoongi and Namjoon.
"Yoonie!!" Hoseok cheered as he ran up to hug his boyfriend, practically almost tackling him down.
"Hey you~" Yoongi said, hugging Hoseok back, his nose twitching. Mickey ran up as well, bouncing at Yoongi's feet until he was picked up then covered his face in welcoming little licks of greeting. "And you too," Yoongi chuckled then looked around. "Where are the other two?"
Hoseok stole a kiss before answering. "In the kitchen making cookies. Taetae made me wait in the living room." Hoseok fainted a pout "He told me I needed to relax since I was worrying too much about Jinnie and Kookie. No one has heard from them and they still aren't here yet. The weather is supposed to be getting bad..."
"Oh, those two–" this time it was Namjoon who spoke. "They're outside. We ran into them while we were out and they followed us back here."
Hoseok sighed in relief "Thank goodness…." He felt like a massive weight had been lifted just knowing they were finally there and safe.
Jimin poked his head out from the kitchen. "I thought I heard voices in here!" He quickly rushed over "Is everything alright?"
"Yep, everythings good. We made it back just fine" Namjoon said as he opened his arms to Jimin who rushed right past him to the window and peered out. "Not you. I meant my baby." He said, looking at his car in the driveway. "Thank god, she's still in one piece."
Namjoon deadpanned. "There's so much love right now in this house. Too bad none of it IS FOR ME"
"Ouch~" Yoongi teased, smirking as he watched them.
Jimin laughed then turned around, launching himself onto Namjoon's back and clung to him like a koala. He nuzzled his face against his husband. "I'm glad you're safe too, baby. I missed you!"
Namjoon rolled his eyes but smiled "Mhm, I can tell." He then placed a kiss on Jimin's cheek.
"So uhm...why didn't they come in with you?" Asked Hoseok, interrupting their little moment.
Yoongi set Mickey down and pet Tannie's head since he'd been giving that stare. The one he gave when he wasn't getting any attention, as if to say How dare you not love me, hooman. "They said they had some stuff to bring in, said they didn't need any help so we just left them out there." Yoongi said then shrugged.
"The cookies are done!" Called Tae as he came out into the living room. "All 7,000 of them."
Jimin looked over "There are not that many cookies."
"There are if you count the burnt inedible ones…."
Jimin huffed and clung tighter onto Namjoon as he whined. "Joonie, Taetae is being mean."
"You just picked a car over me and you want me to feel bad about him saying you burned cookies. Gotcha."
"Yall fuckers are too much, I swear." Yoongi laughed and shook his head "Come on Sunshine, let's leave the weirdos to their strange ass ways. " he said as he pulled Hoseok over to the couch to sit.
Just as Hoseok sat down the front door opened and Seokjin appeared. "Yes, yes. Fabulousness has arrived. The party can start now!" He would have blown them all a kiss had he not been carrying a fairly large box in his hands.
Jungkook was behind him and facepalmed hard while shaking his head. "I told him not to do that. He doesn't listen." He pushed Seokjin through the door "Sorry, my boyfriend is an idiot sometimes."
"Kookie!! Jininie!!" Both Jimin and Hoseok exclaimed. Jimin hopped down after letting go of Namjoon and Hoseok popped right back up from the couch to go over and greet his friends.
Jungkook smiled as he returned both Hoseok's and Jimin's hugs. It had been so long since he saw them, any of them really. He and Seokjin both lived out of town and stayed pretty busy so he actually looked forward to this time of year. "Ok so, I'm just gonna be straight forward, we gotta give you guys your gift now." Jungkook said, then pointed to the box Jin was holding.
"Hold on just a minute," said Hoseok as he grabbed Jungkook's hand. "These are new."
Jungkook flushed slightly and nodded "I got them way earlier this year. Did them myself actually, well most of them."
Hoseok paled just from the thought. "There's no way I could do something like that. You're basically stabbing yourself with a needle repeatedly." He cringed hard and let go of Jungkook.
"Nnn...kinda? But it's really not that bad." He said, pushing up his sleeve to show the other tattoos on his arm. "I told Jin I'd do one for him too–"
"And I told you to kindly fuck off." Seokjin interrupted then gave his boyfriend a look.
Jungkook cleared his throat. "Right. Right. Hobi, Yoongi, go sit."
"I've been sitting this whole time ya brat." Yoongi replied
"On the floor. Don't ask questions, just do it." Jungkook said and they both did.
Hoseok was bouncing though, just radiating excitement and curiosity as he watched Seokjin set down the box in front of them.
"You both have to open it together, okay"
"Okay, Kookie! Hoseok chimed out then looked to his boyfriend and counted. On "three" they both lifted up the lid of the box to reveal a small chocolates curly furred puppy with the most adorable big black eyes that almost immediately locked on to Yoongi. Hoseok almost squealed but didn't want to scare it.
Taehyung on the other hand had the hugest boxy smile on his face from ear to ear and even clapped, like an over excited child. The puppy wasn't his present but that didn't matter. "She's so cute! A little poodle puppy!!!"
"It's a boy, actually," Seokjin corrected.
Yoongi had been quiet this whole time. He wondered if this is what Hoseok had felt last Christmas when he had given him Mickey. Something about this puppy just resonated with him. Of course Mickey was technically both his and Hoseok's but it was clear that Hoseok was the one Mickey chose. But this one…
The puppy never took his eyes off of Yoongi. He sat there, tilting his little curly head until Yoongi reached in to scoop him up. Slowly, everyone watched as the softest, widest gummy smile formed on Yoongi's lips.
Seokjin leaned over to Jungkook and whispered. "I think he likes their present."
"Aww, Yoonie, he likes you…" Hoseok finally spoke up, smiling brightly at the scene before him."
"I like him too." He looked over at Seokjin and Jungkook and gave them an approving nod and they both knew that was his own way of saying his thanks. "I'm gonna name him Holly. It fits with Christmas."
"That's perfect!!" Hoseok said, then picked up Mickey who had curiously come closer to find out what the new scent in the house was. "Mickey Mickey~~" he chimed out in a more singsong kind of voice "Come meet your new brother!!"
Yoongi chuckled as he watched Mickey sniff the pup curiously. At first Holly seemed to be reserved but after a few minutes and more than a few licks, he was starting to warm up to his new brother.
By now, everyone was just watching. Jimin was leaned in against Namjoon by the tree and Jungkook had laid down on the floor with his head resting on Seokjin's lap, they were by the fireplace since the younger was cold and wanted to warm up. . "We're really glad you like him" it was Kookie who spoke up. Jin was casually combing his fingers through Jungkook's hair, who didn't seem to mind it at all.
A few moments later Taehyung got up from his spot by Jimin and Namjoon then went into the kitchen, coming back a few minutes later with a platter of snack foods. "Since everyone got here so late, why don't we have some snacks to tide us over til dinner? Something to munch on while we talk." He set the tray down on the coffee table then pulled out a packet of dog treats from his pocket for all the pups. Tannie heard the crinkle of the bag and instantly scurried over to beg.
"If you were anyone else carrying around a bag of dog treats, it might be weird" Chuckled Yoongi then held out his hand for one to give to Holly. The pup sniffed it curiously before licking it and once the taste hit his tongue, he hungrily ate it up.
"Since you guys already got a present, why don't we just do the gifts now?" Taehyung said and Yoongi froze. He had been so distracted by everything going on that he had forgotten, well it had been pushed further back into his mind at least. He shot Namjoon a look of pure panic and tried to collect himself so it wasn't so obvious.
Namjoon caught the look immediately. He might've been a mess at times but he was observant of his friends. He leaned over towards the tree and pulled out a few gifts, ones that he and Jimin had brought. "Okay then, we'll go first." He gave Yoongi a look back. One that told him to get his shit together while he bought him some time. Jimin grabbed half of them and handed them out. Of course Taehyung was given his first.
Jimin grinned mischievously as he watched his best friend open his gift. To Jimin it was meant to be a joke but the moment Tae's eyes lit up like fireworks, he knew he had failed.
"Aww, Mochi, I love it!!" Tae said as he held up the matching sweaters for both himself and Tannie. They had little doggie bone designs on them. Taehyung immediately grabbed Yeontan and slipped the sweater onto him then combed out his fur with his fingers to smooth it down. Tannie was used to stuff like this though, Tae was always dressing him up. He then took off his own shirt right then and there and pulled on the sweater. Afterwards he sat back down and happily pulled his son into his lap.
Yoongi saw how Hoseok had been watching with a whole night sky worth of stars in his eyes. "Don't get any ideas–"
"But Yooonieeee!!" Hoseok whined
Only Namjoon had known it was supposed to be a prank and all he did was laugh when he saw Jimin's expression change. "I guess even soulmates don't always get it right, hm?" He teased in Jimin's ear, his voice barely a whisper. Jimin tried to elbow him in the side but Joon smirked and pulled him.into his lap. "Not today, baby~"
Jimin huffed and pouted then pushed over his present to Seokjin and Jungkook. "That's for both of you, you should open it in front of everyone." He wasn't even trying to hide the fact that it wasn't a normal gift either. Everybody knew how Seokjin and Jungkook operated. At least everyone in that room did. Always bickering and arguing over stuff. If Jungkook wasn't being a brat or a little shit, Seokjin was. Sometimes it was a mystery as to who was really older.
They even had their real heated arguments too but it wouldn't be long before one of them would initiate something and all that pent up anger and frustration would be taken out on each other in the bedroom through hours of rough make-up sex. At one point Jungkook had told Jimin that he sometimes pissed off Seokjin on purpose cause damn the sex with that man was something else.
Jimin watched as they opened the box. Jungkook pulled out a pair of handcuffs with pink fuzz around the cuff part and Seokjin pulled out a pair of bunny ears with a little rabbit tail butt plug to match. The room fell silent until Jungkook held up the cuffs and spoke "Aww, Jiminie, how'd you know? Jin has been begging for something like this for the longest~"
"TO USE ON YOU !" Seokjin interrupted, but Jungkook didn't stop
"And look, now we can even make you into a cute Jinbunny. It's gonna be a fun Christmas tonight~"
Seokjin's face was bright with embarrassment. "You little shit, you know damn well those are for you!"
Namjoon clasped his hand onto Seokjin's shoulder and chuckled "Hey man, what yall do behind closed doors os on you…" he trailed off for a moment before adding, "Isn't that right, Jinbunny ?" He couldn't hold it in anymore and started laughing. Everyone else joined in, Jimin was literally rolling on the floor from the sight of how flustered Seokjin was.
The older male gave Jungkook a death stare. "I've got your fun Christmas." Jin said firmly and the change in his voice made the room go quiet again but it also sent waves of chills through Jungkook and he shivered before mouthing the words "I look forward to it." to his boyfriend.
"Man, I swear, all yall do is fight and fuck." Yoongi said and shook his head, chuckling.
"But they've been together how long now?" Hoseok added, "5..6 years now? I guess fighting and fucking works for them. You can tell they love each other though, I see it in their eyes when they look at each other. It's really beautiful."
Both Seokjin and Jungkook were caught off guard by Hoseok's words. They were as close to the truth as they could be. Both of them had faint shades of pink on their faces now along with fond smiles as they glanced at each other.
"Leave it to Hobi to get all mushy~" Jimin said then laughed. "Ok so, we all know Namie is getting his present from me later so that leaves the couple who now have two kids." Jimin ssid as he looked at Mickey and Holly, both sitting in their dad's laps.
Jimin gave them their gifts then Tae went next followed by Namjoin and Jungkook. When it came time for Seokjin to give out his gifts, he stood up. "I did something a little different this year. I got something, one thing, that all of us can use. Something we really need."
"If it's not a winning lottery ticket for a million dollars, I don't want it," Yoongi called out
"Oh shut up," Seokjin hussed and rolled his eyes playfully. "All seven of us are going on a vacation together. All expenses paid. We can work out when and where later but a week of relaxation away from life's stresses and work is my gift to us."
Everyone knew Seokjin had money like that. Hell he owned his own damn business but usually he wasn't the flashy type to just throw it around in people's faces. He joked around alot, about many things but not that. That's how they all knew he was serious. This wasn't just some joke or prank he was pulling on everyone.even Jungkook looked surprised.
"What about the dogs?" Taehyung asked, breaking the silence.
Seokjin flailed his arms in the air "well of course they can come too! There are plenty of dog friendly hotels. I'll make the arrangements. That's not even an issue" he sat back down next to Jungkook.
"So guys, I got a question." Said Jimin after Yoongi and Hoseok had given out their gifts to everyone, leaving only 2 under the tree. "Why do we call this a secret santa exchange when we all just get everyone something anyway?"
The whole group collectively broke out into unified laughter. No one really had an answer either. From the very first time Hoseok and Yoongi had hosted a Christmas party for all of them, that's how it had been.
Yoongi looked over at the tree. He wanted his gift to Hoseok to be the last one. Luckily Namjoon initiating the rest of the gift giving had given him enough time to relax and get his thoughts together. He felt like he was ready. All he had to do was wait on Hoseok to give his gift then he would go after. The only thing was...Hoseok wasn't moving from his spot to get his gift for Yoongi.
There was an awkward silence until Seokjin spoke up. "Ok, there are two gifts left. Who's going to go first?" He asked, looking between Hoseok and Yoongi.
"Yoonie, you can go." Hoseok said, smiling to his boyfriend. "I don't mind giving you mine, last."
"Ah…" Yoongi hesitated then shook his head "Nah, it's alright Sunshine. You can go. I'll go last."
The two went back and forth for almost 5 minutes on who should go next until Namjoon finally had enough. He slammed his hands down onto the coffee table. "ENOUGH!" he hollered then grabbed the remaining two gifts and put them on the table in front of their proper recipients. "Since neither of you will make up your damn minds, both of you open them at the same time. Enough of this back and forth crap. Now, go" he sat back down next to Jimin, leaving no room for Yoongi or Hoseok to object.
Hoseok and Yoongi stared at each other before picking up their boxes. This isn't how Yoongi had planned on it going but sometimes things just didn't happen like you wanted it to. Both of them tore away the wrapping, revealing a small box in front of Hoseok and a clouded looking Christmas ornament in front of Yoongi.
"Turn it around" Hoseok said, pointing to the ball ornament
"Open the box" Yoongi said in return
And when each of them did what the other asked. Their faces both filled with emotion and shock. They were stunned.
Yoongi's clouded ornament had writing on the front that said "Marry Me" and inside the ornament was a ring.
Hoseok's box revealed a ring as well and in that instant, his eyes filled with tears as his hand moved to cover his mouth.
Even though stunned that they had both chosen to do this at the same time, Yoongi was the first to speak. He reached over and took one of Hoseok's hands into both of his. "Hoseok, baby. My Sunshine…" this was it, the moment he had been stressing so much over was finally heard.
"I love you. With every fiber of my being and every thread of my soul. No one has ever made me feel the way you do. Your brightness surrounds me and keeps me warm on the darkest of days. You are and have always been the light of my life since I've known you. Even all the way back in high school. I was young and stupid back then and I fucked up a lot but you were there by my side through it all." He squeezed Hoseok's hand gently and placed several kisses to his knuckles. He wasn't the PDA type but in this moment, he didn't give a damn. They were the only ones who existed.
"You were always there and I want you to continue to be for the rest of eternity. I want you to be mine in every way imaginable. I want you by my side. Jung Hoseok, Will you make me the happiest man in existence and marry me?"
Hoseok couldn't speak. Tears were flowing like rivers from his eyes as he listened to each and every word that came from Yoongi's beautiful lips. He had been smiling in the beginning but somewhere in the middle, he had become so overwhelmed with emotion that he lost composure, not that there was much there to begin with once he saw the ring Yoongi had given him. "Y-Yoonie…" he choked out through his sobs. He was sure this was probably the ugliest cry of his life but just like Yoongi and his PDA, Hoseok had no fucks to give.
"You are the love of my life, Yoonie. You have been since I first laid eyes on you. You've always been so supportive of me with everything I've ever done. From huge things like my dreams and aspirations to even the tiniest things like when you taught me to skate. You've never given up on me and you always encourage me to be my best. You make me a better man...the best man I can be, I am him because of you. There's no place in this entire world that I'd rather be than by your side. For ever, for life, for eternity." Hoseok reached up to gently cup Yoongi's cheeks. He smiled through the tears that still trickled from his eyes.
"Min Yoongi, You are mine. My first crush, my first love, my first kiss, my first everything. You are my soulmate through and through and I'll always be here to make your days brighter. Yes, I will marry you, but only if you agree to.marry me. We do this together. Ever since that night on the rooftop. It's been us. Together. I'm your ray of Sunshine and you're my idiot, right?" Hoseok sniffled and stifled a chuckle.
They had spent so many Christmases together. Ice skating, Hoseok dragging Yoongi around looking for trees and decorations, spending their first Christmas together with Hoseok's parents...so many precious and amazing memories but Hoseok knew this would be his favorite one.
Hoseok still cupped his fiancé's cheeks so Yoongi lifted his own hands and did the same to Hoseok's. His hands were huge but Hoseok's face was a perfect fit for them, it always had been just like Hoseok had been perfect for Yoongi. "Together. I'll marry you. We do this together." Yoongi echoed the words and smiled, all teeth and gums then he pulled Hoseok in close and kissed him deeply and passionately.
All eyes were on them. No one even dared to say a word or make a noise. Even the pups were quiet and on their best behavior. Every so often all 5 of the other men in that room would wipe their tears away. Yoongi and Hoseok's words had touched all of them in some way. It was truly a beautiful thing to witness.
Both Yoongi and Hoseok slipped their rings on each other's fingers at the same time and Yoongi had dried Hoseok's eyes gently then his own. He hadn't even noticed he was crying until he felt the wetness on his cheeks.
It definitely hadn't been a blur like Namjoon had described. Everything happened in slow motion for Yoongi. He could remember every expression on his fiance's face with every word that was said and he knew that those memories would stay with him for the rest of his life and he would cling to them.
The rest of the night, everyone spent talking in reminiscing about past events and memories as they finally ate their dinner. This would definitely be a Christmas for the record books for them. One they would be able to look back on years into the future and be able to smile and cry all over again.
After everything was said and done, Hoseok helped Taehyung and Jungkook Clean up in the kitchen while Yoongi Got everyone situated in their guest rooms. Jimin and Namjoon were out for the rest of the night and as soon as they were done in the kitchen, Jungkook joined Seokjin in their bedroom, fully intent on putting their gifts from Jimin to use.
Hoseok made sure Taehyung was settled in his room. He insisted that the dogs stay with him for the night. Maybe he didn't feel all this romantic stuff but even he had been moved by the proposals and he knew the others had been as well. Hevwanted them to.have their alone time and he honestly didn't mind being covered in pups when he went to sleep. He loved it, actually.
Once everyone had been settled in their rooms Yoongi went to.Hoseok and dragged him to theirs for the night. He needed his Sunshine. His best friend. His soulmate and now his fiance. The others wouldn't be the oy ones having an intimate night together but for Yoongi and Hoseok, it felt like so much more than. They felt like one being, truly together and it stayed that way even after they were done.
They curled up in each other's arms, tangling their legs together, sharing kisses and nuzzles and soft spoken "I love yous" until eventually both of them were taken by sleep. They had both taken a big step in their lives and it felt right. Nothing would ever come close to this year's Christmas. This….this was perfect.
