"Until you two make up, you'll stay handcuffed together like this."
Lieutenant Hinawa stated, expressionless. Meanwhile, Arthur and Shinra look like their souls had been taken by the Grim Reaper.
Instead of getting them to make up, this action got them even more frustrated with one another, and they didn't stop arguing. Commander Hinawa just sat idly a little further from them, sighing in disappointment. This was until Arthur suddenly remembered something. Taken aback by Arthur's blank face, Shinra waves his palm in front of the blonde, almost snorting at how unexpectedly amusing it is to do so.
Suddenly Arthur snaps back into reality and looks at Shinra seriously, creeping the latter out.
"Shinra." Arthur calls the raven haired teenager's name, to which he flinched at. With a quiet and wary voice, Shinra responds: "What?"
"I remembered how my Mother and Father made up whenever they have a fight. Although I dislike working together with you, I hope you're willing to work with me with this one." Arthur exclaims. Shinra was a bit skeptical, but, he couldn't handle being handcuffed with this dumb knight any longer. It was hot, and being stuck to him like glue under the bright sun made him all sticky with sweat. As long as he could be free, Shinra would do anything; at least only for now.
Without any further notice, Arthur put his hand on Shinra's nape. Although it was wet with sweat, Arthur didn't let go; rather, he pulled Shinra's nape close to his face. Shinra hummed in confusion, but wasn't able to say anything else as Arthur lunges forward and intertwines their lips together for a few seconds. Shinra's focused on two things— Arthur's shockingly sweet and soft lips, and the fact that Lieutenant Hinawa is still looking at them.
Needless to say, Arthur got slapped right after their handcuffs were released.
You would think that's the end of it, but surprisingly, it was not.
Arthur tirelessly tries to peck Shinra again. Not to mention in front of other people, whether it be the members of the brigade or Captain Obi and Lieutenant Hinawa, which, had actually gotten used to them (more specifically Arthur) suddenly kissing each other. At this point, everyone thought they were going out and Arthur is bragging about it— it wouldn't be surprising, considering how much time they actually spend together regardless if they fight.
Shinra's had enough of it now. This was what, the fourth day ever since the rooftop kissing accident occurred? Aside from feeling embarrassment and a tiny bit of affection for the blonde teenager, he's starting to think that maybe this was a form of revenge; maybe he's actually trying to punch Shinra's lips, using his own lips. But Shinra wasn't someone that just assumed things and panicked about them. He had to know more, and so today he's going to ask the dumb knight just why he keeps kissing him.
"Ah? That's a dumb question. Of course, it's so that when we eventually fight again, Lieutenant Hinawa won't handcuff us again. He always sees us making up, right? Everyone else does, too. It's for evidence. So when we fight, they'll just assume that we already made up." Arthur explains bravely.
This guy, why's he so dumb but smart at the same time...!?
"That sounds stupid, but it makes sense..? I really don't get you at all!" Shinra was baffled, not knowing how to respond. For the time being, he just accepted that Arthur's idea was actually pretty smart (at least, to him it is). Arthur just sighs back in response, probably thinking something along the lines of "A devil like you will never understand.".
Thinking of the reason Arthur gave to him, Shinra became more accepting when Arthur tries to kiss him— despite still being absolutely embarrassed to the point of wanting to curl up into a ball and just never go out of it ever again.
About a week after the interrogation, Shinra accidentally spills his feelings of wanting to let Arthur just kiss him without any excuses and wusses out. The knight kept asking questions about contracts and the like. Not long after, according to Arthur, he and Shinra have entered a master and servant contract— which Shinra corrected as dating whilst hiding his red cheeks and tense grin using one hand, the other holding Arthur's hand.
Unfortunately for Lieutenant Hinawa and the rest of the brigade, this didn't stop them from arguing; but they do become super affectionate when they decide to make up— it's become a daily occurrence to see Arthur giving little pecks everywhere on Shinra's face and neck, whilst the latter just flushes.
