Summary:

When a teenage Wei Wuxian shows up at Cloud Recesses instead of the adult Wei Wuxian the Juniors have come to recognize, their reactions... vary.

Notes:

Forgot to include this in the text description, but Wei Wuxian is around fifteen here. The Juniors are probably a year or two older than in canon, hence Sizhui's growth spurt haha!!

Work Text:

Image description: Digital comic illustration split into four different panels. The first panel shows Wei Wuxian dressed in white and light blue Gusu robes, along with his signature red ribbon pulling his hair up into a ponytail. In his left hand he holds two bottles of Emperor’s Smile, and his right hand is held outwards in an open gesture. He is winking and has an easy smile on his face. He stands outside of Cloud Recesses and is illuminated by a light blue light on his left side. Two text bubbles read "What are you all making such a fuss about? We'll be fine..." and "...as long as that fuddy duddy Lan Zhan doesn't catch us!" with a little winky face sticking its tongue out on the second text bubble. The second panel shows Lan Jingyi and Lan Sizhui standing beside each other, with Sizhui being notably taller. Both are also dressed in white and light blue Gusu robes. Jingyi has a comically angry expression on his face, with his eyes bugging out of his face and his mouth open as he yells and points a finger accusingly at Wei Wuxian. His other hand is thrown behind him, and Sizhui places a placating hand on his right shoulder. Sizhui wears a tired smile on his face, with sweat beads. Jingyi's text bubble and text are far larger than any of the other's, and a good majority of the text is not visible as the text bubble is too small to contain his rage. However, the bubble is meant to read "HOW CAN YOU SPEAK ABOUT HANGUANG-JUN SO CASUALLY!!! WHILE SO BRAZENLY DRINKING IN FRONT OF THE PAVILLION!! WEARING OUR CLAN'S ROBES AND BREAKING OUR SECTS' RULES-". Sizhui's thought bubble reads "...So this is what bába was like?" The third panel shows Jin Ling angrily pouting, his thick brows pulled together in annoyance. He looks child-like as he crosses his arms over his chest. He wears yellow Jin robes with a white under robe, and his gold headpiece pulls his hair into a high ponytail. His words are split into two text bubbles, with the first reading "Hmph! just like jiujiu said…" and the second "Shameless as always!!!" Jin Ling also has a red irritation mark on his right temple. The fourth panel shows Ouyang Zizhen’s side profile in pale green robes and white under robes. His left hand is pulled into a fist in a “so cool” type of gesture, and he smiles in admiration of Wei Wuxian with his brows turned downward. His hair is pulled into his signature topknot. His single text bubble reads "Wei-qianbei....... so cool!!". Pink flowers and sparkles surround him to emphasize his amazement.
