The group just finished performing DNA for their concert in Chicago. Everyone was cheering them on. All of a sudden, Namjoon walked to the front of the stage. Everyone calmed down as he was about to speak.
“Before we get to the next song, the group and I wanted to do something special for one of our members.” Namjoon spoke into this microphone. Everyone was calm and looked at everyone except for Yoongi. He was confused. He looked at Jungkook.
“What is he talking about?” Yoongi asked him. Jungkook nor any of them said a word. Yoongi turned his head forward once again to look at Namjoon speaking to the fans. After Namjoon finished speaking to the fans, he looked to the side of the stage and motioned for someone to come out of it. And the person started to walk out of it, making Yoongi’s eyes widened. It was his boyfriend, Derrick. Who was all dressed up in his ARMY attire.
Yoongi suddenly ran over to him and wrapped his arms around him, giving Derrick a big hug. Derrick hugged his boyfriend back. ARMY and the rest of the members clapped. Then, the two of them pulled away from each other and Yoongi walked Derrick to the front of the stage. Namjoon looked at the fans once again.
“For anyone who does not know who this is, this is Derrick. Yoongi and him have been dating for a little over a year now.” Namjoon explained to the crowd. Namjoon looked at Derrick with a smile on his face.
“Derrick, is there something you would like to say to the crowd?” Namjoon asked him. Derrick nodded then Namjoon placed the microphone in front of Derrick.
“Hello ARMY!” Derrick exclaimed to the crowd as he waved. The crowd said hello back and waved back to him as well. It felt really nice to see that ARMY accepts Derrick.
“I will not be long, I promise. But...I wanted to do something for Yoongi and I felt like this was the only time to do this.” Derrick also added. Namjoon let Derrick use his microphone then walked to the back with the rest of the members. Derrick turned to look at Yoongi as they were the only two standing in the middle of the stage now. Secretly, Derrick and the rest of the groupm planned this but did not tell Yoongi about it so they did not spoil Derrick’s surprise for him. Derrick took a deep breath before he spoke to Yoongi. The crowd watched to see what was going on or what he was going to say to him.
“Yoongi, since I have met and started dating you, my life has been wonderful. For me, you are not just my lover but my soulmate, too. I also have been thinking about what could make this better and one day, it suddenly came to me. And this is what made me realize how could this make my life better. Jimin quickly walked over as Derrick got onto his knees in the middle of the stage and in front of his boyfriend.
Derrick handed Jimin Namjoon’s microphone as he put a hand into one of his jacket’s pockets and took out a small, velvet box from it. When Derrick opened it, Yoongi’s eyes widened again. The camera that was recording the concert focused on them and it showed Derrick’s hand holding the box with a gorgeous and expensive diamond ring inside of it. It had a cluster of diamonds that was beautifully arranged with a rose gold band.
Yoongi realized what was going on and began to tear up a little. Derrick had a smile on his face as Jimin held his microphone in front of Derrick.
“Min Yoongi, will you be mine forever and be my husband?” Derrick asked him. Yoongi looked at him with tears streaming down his cheeks. The rest of the members and ARMY watched, waiting for Yoongi to give his boyfriend an answer. They have talked about Marriage but Yoongi did not know that Derrick was seriously thinking about marrying him. Even if their marriage will not be valid in South Korea, Yoongi still wants to be Derrick’s husband, no matter what.
About 15 second later, Yoongi shook his head. It did not take him long to figure out an answer for Derrick’s question.
“Y-yes. Yes, I will be your husband!”Yoongi happily replied to Derrick's proposal. The crowd and the rest of the members cheered as Derrick placed the ring onto Yoongi’s ring finger and then stood up to hug his lover. Now, Yoongi and Derrick were officially fiances. And they had a lot of support for their engagement, too. When Yoongi and Derrick pulled away, the rest of the members went over to hug them. Yoongi was still in tears but he was happy as well.
As everyone calmed down, Namjoon was about to speak again to the crowd.
“Let's give a huge round of applause for Suga-hyung and Derrick’s engagement!” Namjoon happily exclaimed. The crowd cheered and clapped once more. A couple of minutes later, Derrick said goodbye to everyone and headed backstage so the group could finish the concert.

After the concert, the group was on their way back to the hotel. Derrick was riding with them. He was sitting between Yoongi and Jimin. Yoongi was leaned up against the side of Derrick while Derrick had his arm around him. Even though he was exhausted, Yoongi could not stop looking at his engagement ring. It was absolutely gorgeous. Also, Yoongi was so happy to be Derrick’s fiance. All of a sudden, Yoongi got an idea. He looked at Derrick.
“Is it okay that I get you an engagement ring, too?” Yoongi suddenly asked him.
“Are you sure that you want to do that?” Derrick asked him back.
“Yes.” Yoongi replied to Derrick’s question. Derrick thought about it for a few seconds before speaking to Yoongi again.
“If you want to then, yes. And I will wear it with such love and happiness.” Derrick answered Yoongi’s question.
“Does it matter what kind of ring?” Yoongi asked. Derrick shook his head.
“Nope. I am going to leave that up to you and please, take your time. I will love it, no matter what.” Derrick replied to him. Yoongi understood. They would not be even planning the wedding until after the tour is over. So, Yoongi has time to get Derrick a ring. He knew that he did not have to but Yoongi wanted to anyway. It just felt right to him.
On the ride to the hotel, Yoongi ended up falling asleep against the side of his fiance and in his arm, too. Derrick laid his head on top of Yoongi’s and closed his eyes as well as he cuddled his fiance. Tonight has definitely been an incredible one. Not just for Yoongi and Derrick but for everyone involved. Yoongi is also going to be spending a lot of time in America while planning for the wedding with Derrick, too.
For Yoongi, it will be all worth it. And Derrick is going to stay in Seoul. That was not even up for discussion because Derrick already made up his mind about that. Even if their marriage is not going to be valid legally, regardless, both of them will refer to each other as husbands, no matter where they go or where they are. Because for them, that is how much they love one another. And neither of them are going to leave their relationship or marriage. They are going to be together. Forever .
