Work Text:
Derrick has been working for a few hours today for a very special photo shoot. Bighit hired him to help with the photo shoot for their upcoming album. Not just because he is Yoongi’s boyfriend but because they also like his work, too. Both video and photography. At the moment, he just was working on photos for the shoot. He just finished taking photos of Jimin and Namjoon for the album. As he was getting ready to work on Jungkook’s photos, he noticed Yoongi speaking into a camera of one of the videographers.
“It has been very wonderful and I am so happy to be able to work with Derrick with this photoshoot. I am glad that he is getting a chance to not only show his work as a photographer to BigHit but to ARMY as well. He is very good with what he does and I can not wait to see the results of the photos when they are ready.” Yoongi said to the videographer. Derrick smiled. After Yoongi was finishing speaking to the videographer, he went over to Derrick.
Derrick looked at him with a smile on his face.
“And I am glad to be working with you all for this photo shoot as well.” Derrick suddenly said to him. Yoongi blushed.
“Oh, you heard that?” Yoongi asked him. Derrick nodded. Yoongi wrapped his arms around Derrick’s waist.
“I mean, I did mean what I said to them. I really am happy to be able to work with you.” Yoongi told him. Derrick turned around in Yoongi’s arms and wrapped his arms around Yoongi, too.
“I am very happy to be able to work with you and the rest of the group, too.” Derrick said back to him. Yoongi gave Derrick one of his adorable, gummy smiles. Derrick sweetly chuckled.
“You’re so cute.” Derrick suddenly said to him. Yoongi blushed more. From a distance in the room, Jimin, Namjoon and Taehyung were watching them.
“They are so cute together.” Jimin said. Namjoon and Taehyung agreed.
“It is not easy to be open as LGBT for an idol but I am glad it is working out amazing for him. I am just glad that Yoongi found someone that makes him happy.” Namjoon spoke up.
“Me too.” Taehyung spoke as well. They watched as Derrick leaned his head down towards Yoongi’s and gave him a kiss on the cheek but when Derrick pulled away, Yoongi suddenly put his lips against Derrick’s for a few seconds before Derrick stood straight up again. Jimin felt all warm and fuzzy seeing Yoongi kissing Derrick. Namjoon and Taehyung stood there with smiles on their faces. Everyone in the group felt so happy to see Yoongi being in love and having someone who loves him very much.
Derrick loves Yoongi as the person he is, not his fame or fortune. And that is how Yoongi felt about his boyfriend as well. Plus, they have been dating for almost a full year at this point. Yoongi has been on cloud 9 ever since. Suddenly, Derrick and Yoongi let go of each other. As much as Yoongi wanted to just stay like that with Derrick, he knew that both of them had to get back to work.
“Do not worry, babe. We will do more of that after work...if you are up to it.” Derrick told him. Yoongi smiled again.
“When it comes to you, it comes to you, I am definitely up to it.” Yoongi said back to him. Derrick smiled, too.
“I love you.” Derrick spoke. Everytime Derrick said that to him, it felt like his heart skipped a beat or two.
“I love you, too.” Yoongi spoke back. The two of them went back to doing their work as Derrick called Jungkook for his set. Yoongi walked over to Namjoon, Jimin and Taehyung. The three of them did not waste any time.
“So, you two seem very serious about each other.” Namjoon suddenly piped up. Yoongi nodded.
“Yes. We are very serious about each other.” Yoongi spoke and then looked at Derrick once again, who was going over a couple of things with Jungkook before his set. A few seconds later, he looked back at Namjoon, Jimin and Taehyung.
“I never thought that I would have someone as incredible as Derrick but here I am. I know it sounds cheesy but to me, he is my soulmate. I just wonder if he feels the same way about me as I do about him when it comes to that.” Yoongi said to them.
“I do not doubt that he feels that way about you either, Hyung. Do not stress yourself over it. The way we have seen him with you, he truly thinks of you as his soulmate, too.” Taehyng told him. Yoongi nodded.
“I agree with you and I will stress out over it. I promise.” Yoongi said back to Taehyung. All three of them nodded at Yoongi. The rest of the photoshoot went well as the day went on. When it was over, all of them headed back to their homes but Yoongi rode in Derrick’s car. Yoongi was looking out the window as Derrick drove. Derrick had a thought suddenly pop up in his head. Though, what he was about to talk about has been on his mind for a while before this.
“Yoongi?” Derrick spoke up.
“Yeah?” Yoongi asked back. Derrick took a deep breath before he spoke to his boyfriend again.
“I have been thinking about stuff and I was curious. ...Do you ever want to get married?” Derrick asked him. Yoongi looked at him.
“Yes. I want to get married one day. ...Why do you ask?” Yoongi replied and asked another question.
“Would you...would ever marry a man?” Derrick asked him a different question this time.
“Of course, I would. I mean, it would not be legal here but I would marry a man.” Yoongi answered and explained to him. That made Derrick feel happy.
“Would you ever want to get married?” Yoongi asked Derrick this time. He did not have to ask Derrick if he would marry a man because Derrick was only attracted to men so it was obvious.
“Y-yes! Of course, I would love to get married as well.” Derrick replied back to Yoongi. That also made Yoongi happy as well. Yoongi would love to get married one day...he was just not sure when that would be but whenever it happens, Yoongi will be ready. And he would love to walk down the aisle with Derrick. Even if they have to go to a different country to do so.
“I am glad that you feel that way.” Derrick said.
“Same here.” Yoongi said back to him. Derrick had a smile on his face the rest of the drive home and so did Yoongi. After picking up dinner for both of them and dropping Yoongi back at his place, he drove back to his apartment with an idea in his head. But before he could go through with his plan, he needed to talk to a few people. Otherwise, this plan will not work but for right now.
Derrick also was not going to say anything about it to Yoong because Derrick wants it to be a surprise. But whether or not Yoongi accepts, he will have to wait to see until it happens. For now, it was just going to be his own little secret.
