Today was an interesting day for Yoongi. Since coming out as pansexual, his life has definitely changed..in a good way. On this day, Yoongi, with permission, decided to not only introduce his boyfriend to ARMY but also make a little film about their day date. It was not for fame reasons nor it was to gain fans, it was to show what it is like to be gay in South Korea. And there will not be many things like this. Which his boyfriend was absolutely fine with. Yoongi’s boyfriend, Derreck Davis is a popular artist and photographer from the United States but has been living in South Korea for about the past year.
Derrick was born and raised in the United States but can speak English, Spanish, Korean and Japanese. Fluently. Yoongi and Derrick randomly met at a ramen shop. He even paid for Yoongi’s food when Yoongi forgot his wallet. Since then, the two of them have been in touch and eventually fell in love with each other. They also try to hang out with each other as much as they can. Both of them can be quite busy at times but always try to find time to spend with one another, no matter what. Yoongi was so happy that they were doing this. So is Derrick. They love being around one another. And hopefully, this film that they are making will show that being gay is something that shouldn’t be gone against but accepted in South Korea. Especially for KPop ldols.
”So, how have you been enjoying our date so far?” Derrick asked Yoongi in Korean.
”It has been going great! At first, I was a bit nervous but now, I am so happy that we are doing this. It feels so free to be able to do this.” Yoongi replied as he swayed his body side to side for a minute as he spoke with a smile in his face. Derrick smiled as well.
“Same here.” Derrick spoke. He walked over to Yoongi. Both of them looked at each when Derrick stopped to the side of him. Derrick suddenly leaned down slightly and gave Yoongi a kiss on the lips while they were filming. Yoongi chuckled. Both of them were now in view of Derrick’s camera on his phone.
“Let’s give a shout-out to ARMY.” Yoongi suggested. Derrick agreed. Both of them waved at the camera.
“ARMY!!” Yoongi shouted happily.
“Hello, ARMY!” Derrick said after Yoongi. Yoongi then looked at Derrick and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Both of their hearts were racing. Racing with excitement. Derrick looked at Yoongi again, both of them smiling at one another.
”I love you.” Derrick said to him. Yoongi blushed.
“I love you, too.” Yoongi said back to him. Being able to do this with his boyfriend and being able to introduce Derrick to ARMY has truly been a blessing for Yoongi. Yoongi put his phone away as they went on with their day date.

Later in the afternoon, Yoongi and Derrick were standing on the boardwalk, looking over the ocean from the pier. The smell of the beach was wonderful and the breeze felt amazing. Yoongi looked over at Derrick, who was looking out into the distance at the sea.
“Derrick?” Yoongi suddenly spoke up.
“Yes?” Derrick replied back with a question.
“I know that you said that you were only going to stay in Seoul for a year but...are we still going to continue the relationship when you go back to the states?” Yoongi asked him another question. Derrick looked at his boyfriend.
“Well, I have been thinking of extending my time here. Also, if I did go back to the states, of course, I would continue the relationship. The way I feel about you doesn’t have a time limit. I never met anyone quite incredible as you, Yoongi. I love you so much.” Derrick answered and explained to Yoongi. Yoongi smiled.
“I love you, too. Though, I am curious..what made you decide to extend your time here?” Yoongi said and then asked yet another question.
“I am enjoying my time here and well...I love being with you. I know that you will have to go travel and such from time to time but I will be here for when you get back.” Derrick replied to him. Yoongi nuzzled up against the side of his boyfriend.
“I hope one day that you can come with me.” Yoongi said.
“I hope that can happen one day, too. But for now, I am happy with the way things are. Are you?” Derrick said back and asked. Yoongi nodded.
“Yes. I am very happy.” Yoongi replied. Derrick leaned down slightly and gave Yoongi a kiss on the type of the head. Yoongi didn’t care if people saw them in public doing this. He was happy and so is Derrick. Yoongi looked up and moved his head then gave Quinn a quick kiss on the lips.
”Me too.” Derrick spoke as he looked at Yoongi once again. Derrick did not have to stay because of Yoongi but for some reason, it made Yoongi happy to hear that. And hopefully for the rest of their lives, Yoongi and Derrick will be together and be able to get married one day...if same-sex marriage ever becomes legal in South Korea. For now, both of them were happy with the way things are. Truly happy.
