Lan Wanyin glared over his shoulder yet again at the pair of feline eyes staring out at him from a bush on the path to the library. The eyes blinked and with a rustle of leaves, disappeared. For now. Wanyin knew the owner of said eyes was only changing position now that he'd been spotted and would soon resume his annoying stalking.
Ever since the other sects had sent disciples to study at Cloud Recesses, Jiang Xichen had been exceedingly irritating, following him around and going to shameless lengths to get his attention. Stalking him endlessly as human and in his shifted panther form. Calling Lan Wanyin a "cute bunny" and other absolutely inappropriate and incorrect terms which made Wanyin grind his teeth in silent irritation, especially since he always remained human. Lans were private about their animal forms!
Even worse were the touches! Jiang Xichen would brush his hands against Lan Wanyin's hands and even one time he dared to touch his cheek! In his panther form he would dart by him and a furry tail would flick against his bare skin. Lan Wanyin would always respond with a stern glare and recite any rules Jiang Xichen had just broken. All he would get in return in a cheeky smile and a teasing remark.
Truly this Jiang Xichen had no manners and was raised in the wild by animals! With how often he was in his panther form it was the most likely explanation! None of the other guest disciples were like this! None of the rest of them dedicated their time to pointlessly follow Lan Wanyin around!
No amount of kneeling in silence, no matter how many lines he had to write, no matter how many hits to the knuckles, Jiang Xichen would not desist. Lan Wanyin was reaching the end of his patience. Jiang Xichen had not been deterred by any punishment thus far, so... perhaps Wanyin should take matters into his own hands.
Lan Wanyin resumed his trek to the library and kept his ears open for the soft rustle of leaves. It did not take long for him to hear the signs of Jiang Xichen behind him, and as he rounded a corner on the path, he quickly and quietly darted to the side into the trees, keeping low and his steps light as he had trained to do. He made no sound as he leaped up into a tree and hid, watching the path.
A moment later a large black panther trotted out into the open, looking around in confusion. Ha! Lan Wanyin's lip twitched up before he caught himself and mentally scolded himself for showing his glee in the small win. Now then!
He surged forward and grasped his core, releasing a low growl as he twisted into his animal form. His shape grew, dwarfing the panther in front of him. His claws and scales came out and his antlers sprouted. His heavy tail thumped the ground. Wide feline eyes looked at him in shock as he easily caught and pinned a startled Jiang Xichen.
"You're a dragon!?" Jiang Xichen gasped. "I thought all Lans were cute little bunnies!"
Lan Wanyin glared down at the panther and scoffed. "Not all of us. Now cease your pointless stalking!" He pushed down on Jiang Xichen's chest, just enough to make his point, but was careful not to break a rib.
Jiang Xichen wheezed at the pressure, and then threw his head back and laughed. "Oh! This is perfect! I love it! It's so fitting for you to be a dragon and not a bunny! It really is."
Then... then! He leaned forward and licked his chin! Lan Wanyin's eyes widened at the feel of the rough tongue on his skin and he shot backwards. "You! You rude beast!" he snarled, tail lashing the ground in embarrassment and anger. His chin tingled and his heart was racing.
Jiang Xichen twisted back into his human form and gave Lan Wanyin a flirtatious wink. Thank the gods his dragon form didn't show the raging heat in his cheeks, because Wanyin felt like he would combust when Jiang Xichen said, "Good to know you taste as nice as you look."
