I hate and love children

Summary:

Chapter 1: Johnny Joestar wonders what sort of sin he did in the past to get such a punishment to have seven children under one roof with him, but he feels lost when the children went back to their respective parents.

Chapter 2: Bruno Buccierati has a soft spot when it comes to children, so Leone Abbacchio is horrified when he sees eleven children in the same space at the same time.

It's a one shot, but I separated it to two chapters as there's something happened that make sense to split. Read chapter notes!

Chapter Text

Johnny Joestar opens the door begrudgingly when the doorbell keeps ringing, revealing the large man with a toothy grin holding a baby wearing a beanie, making Johnny slams the door shut right after and shouts, “how did I forget about this?! Wait! Let me clean up the place!”

“But Johnny! Dio and I are going to be late to the airport!”

“Screw it Jonathan!”

With quick hands Johnny grabs the dirty laundry lying on the floor and he throws them to the laundry basket near the washroom, and after tidying up the magazines his husband Gyro left all around last night, he sighs and starts thinking of excuses of how he can’t babysit his brother’s children, and that’s when he shouts the moment he sees Dio who is carrying two babies in his arms peering through the window, glaring at Johnny like he killed his whole family and Jonathan comes to the rescue by pulling Dio away.

“What the fuck?! That Dio is definitely worse than his brother Diego.”

When the doorbell starts ringing, Johnny decided that it’s easier to succumb to his fate and opens the door again, this time with both Jonathan and Dio at the door, with Ungalo in Jonathan’s arms, Donatello and Rikiel in Dio’s arms, and Giorno is holding to Jonathan’s hand, standing.

“Are you done, Johnny Joestar? And I thought I will have to wait longer.”

“Dio! You shouldn’t be rude to someone that agreed to take care of our children!” Jonathan turns back to look at Johnny and smiles awkwardly, “I’m sorry that it’s kinda a last minute request of us, but I’m glad you are around in town, and there seem to be no babysitters that are willing to sit all four of them.”

“It’s fine, how hard can it be?”

“We will come back after two days! I have written the instructions on some important notes on their habits and meal diet, so please take this, and these are their luggage, and this-”

“JoJo! We are very late.”

“So, good luck Johnny, and I will see you in later!” the toddlers wave goodbye to their parents while Johnny sees the car drives off, and after the car is out of sight, Johnny enters the house with the four following him, Ungalo is wobbling around since he just learnt walking not too long ago, and Giorno is staring at his brother to ensure he doesn’t fall down. When Johnny enters the guest room, he places down the luggage bags and he turns to look at them, “did you boys have breakfast?”

Giorno nods while Donatello asks, “can we like, have seconds?” making his brother Rikiel drools from the mention of food and he stares at Johnny with wide eyes, which makes their uncle groans and complains, “no. We will have lunch out, since I’m too tired to cook and take care of all of you, and dinner will be prepared by your Uncle Gyro.”

“I love Uncle Gyro’s pasta.”

“Pasta! Pasta!”

“So right now, go and watch the TV while I clean the place. Giorno, I leave you in charge when I’m busy.”

Donatello whines about not being able to be in charge, and Giorno just carries Ungalo into his arms a little shakily and he walks out of the room while saying, “let’s go to the living room,” and Rikiel follows Giorno diligently. Soon Donatello follows reluctantly and Johnny sighs at the list of to-dos he has in mind, “just when I thought I can have a quiet rest day, shit.”

Getting four toddlers to get ready on time and peacefully is an impossible mission.

Right now Johnny is wondering if it will be better if he just orders takeaway instead, but it’s too late now, since Donatello is constantly screaming about going out when he revealed the plan this morning. I should have thought of the pros and cons before telling them my plans. They finally reach the family restaurant just a few minutes walk away from his house, and when he pushes open the glass door while carrying Ungalo with Rikiel holding on to his hand, Donatello sprints towards the podium and waves to the hostess, “hi pretty lady!”

“Oh hello! A table for an adult and four children?” Johnny nods and they are escorted to a booth, and when the baby chair are brought over by the waiter, Johnny quickly thanks him and secures Ungalo in it, while Rikiel is waving his short legs sitting on the booth seats and Giorno is already scanning through the menu at the dessert page, “welcome to Smiley Eatery! What drinks would you all like to have?”

“A cup of coffee for me, two hot cocoa, and two warm milk.”

“I don’t wanna hot cocoa~” Donatello whines and Giorno shushes him, and Johnny just shakes his head at the youngest blonde, “Dona, I don’t have enough brain cells to choose other than what I normally ordered for you boys.”

“You can let me choose?”

“No. And please get us a large bowl of potato salad and a small bowl of oats and raisins.”

“Potato salad again?!”

Donatello’s mouth is shut when Johnny glares at him, and Giorno tries to console his brother, “it’s tasty, and we have pasta to eat for dinner later, remember?”

“But Gio~~”

The waiter walks off after Johnny confirms there’s no further orders, and when Johnny thinks he can have a little peace when Donatello is busy playing with Ungalo, he is surprised when a girl shouts and bumps into him, “Uncle Johnny!”

“Jolyne! What did I say about running?”

The twin haired bun toddler giggles and she does a little dance, and Donatello grins when he sees his favorite cousin exclaims, “Jolyne!”

He proceeds to hug her and Rikiel opens his short arms, wanting a hug too, and Giorno calls out to the pair that approaches their table, “hello Uncle Jotaro, hello Uncle Nori.”

“Hello Giorno,” Noriaki waves and he chuckles when Jolyne is whining about wanting to play with the brothers, “so it’s true that you are babysitting them.”

“Yes.”

“Daddy! I want stay with Uncle Johnny and play with Gio and Dona. Please?”

“No way! I’m not babysitting another child!”

“Well, I’m sure it’s no problem for you if you’re already caring for four,” Johnny groans when Noriaki says with a wink, and Jotaro just shakes his head, “to be honest, we are looking for someone to babysit Jolyne too.”

“What?! Tell me you both aren’t serious-” and Jolyne is already sitting with the brothers and starts talking in toddler speech where only children understand, “and Jolyne, go back to your parents.”

“But-”

The redhead turns to look at his husband and says quietly, “maybe we should ask the nice Italian household to babysit Jolyne instead.”

“But one of the parents scares Jolyne to a sobbing mess the last time she was there.”

Johnny raises an eyebrow when he hears that, understanding that it was definitely Leone Abbacchio that Jotaro is referring too, since that goth looking man has looks that can kill, though it’s weird to see a man with huge soft spots for children like Bruno Buccierati sees anything in him. Yet, it’s even weirder that their household has four adopted children, considering that man Abbacchio doesn’t seem to be someone that is fond of children running around the house.

“Jolyne, let’s go,” Jolyne shakes her head at Jotaro and he frowns, “Jolyne?”

“I wanna stay!”

Maybe having Jolyne will keep Donatello occupied and not bother him in the house, “fine, I will help babysit Jolyne. Send over her stuff to me later after you pack.”

“Yeah!!”

“Yeah Jolyne is joining!!”

“I wanna tea party!”

“Thank you so much, and so sorry! I will be back the day after tomorrow,” the redhead bows quickly in gratitude and soon Johnny walks back to his house with a new addition after a very loud lunch.

When Gyro comes back home with some grocery bags in his hands, he laughs when he sees the annoyed looking Johnny getting his blonde hair braided by Jolyne and Giorno, while Donatello runs around with Ungalo trying to chase him, and Rikiel is chewing on some toys, “Nyoho! Looking good with your nephews and niece!”

“Gyro! Come help me out!”

“Awwww, but I’m tired from my shift in the hospital-” before he can finish his sentence, he is tackled by Donatello and he laughs, “oi young man! No go bumping into someone like this!”

“Uncle Gyro! I want pasta!”

“Fine fine. I will cook after I take a bath, alright? Go play with your brothers now.”

Donatello cheers while he runs off back to Jolyne’s side and tries to help her braid, making her getting annoyed and tugged Johnny’s hair a little too hard, making him wince from the pain and Rikiel cries when he falls down after tripping over a toy, which triggers Ungalo to cry too, and Giorno quickly moves from Johnny’s side and calms them down.

“I swear that I will get our own children soon and annoy my brothers and cousin by babysitting them!”

Johnny’s misery is cut short when Gyro comes out from the bathroom and wears an apron, getting ready to cook, which makes Donatello, Rikiel, and Jolyne rushes over to the kitchen to see him in action, “Uncle Gyro! Sing the song!”

“What song do you guys wanna hear?”

“Cheese song!” Jolyne raises her hand and Donatello nods excitedly, and Johnny groans and shouts, “NO! ANYTHING BUT THE CHEESE SONG!”

“See Johnny? They love my song! I told you it’s going to be a hit.”

When Gyro starts singing the rella rella verse, Giorno who was watching an animal documentary on the TV while hugging Ungalo turns and he sings along too, and Ungalo follows by doing baby noises, while Jolyne dances with Donatello and Rikiel is putting both his hands up. Knowing he will definitely be lacking sleep these two days, Johnny just sighs in defeat and tries to catch some nap before more chaos happens.

It’s a miracle that their house has not been burnt down yet with five toddlers in the house. Johnny is making a pot of coffee and Gyro is still sleeping, while the children are all in one guest room, where it’s been a nursery room since they bought this house, and they maintain it that way until today, which proves to be useful since his nephews and niece love the interior of it.

When he pours a cup for himself and sips on it, the doorbell rings and he frowns, wondering who is visiting him this early since the parents of the children aren’t supposed to be back this early. Hoping it’s nothing bad, he opens the door to see a grinning Joseph carrying his twin sons in each of his arms and the blonde immediately closes the door in his face without a hint of hesitation.

“Oi Johnny! Why did you slam the door at me?!”

“I already have five children under my roof and I’m not accepting another!”

“Oh come on bro! Just for today! I will bring them back home tonight!”

“No means no!”

“Caesarino! My brother is being difficult! Maybe you can call your brother and see if he can make this works?”

“JoJo, it’s fine, just let me call our usual babysitter-”

“Suzie is busy running errands for my mom!”

Johnny ignores his loud brother outside and continues drinking his coffee, until the door of the nursery opens, revealing Giorno who is rubbing his eyes sleepily and he asks, “I heard shouting?”

“Good morning Giorno. It’s nothing, just go back to sleep.”

“Good morning Uncle Johnny.”

Giorno yelps when he is being hugged from the back by Jolyne, and when she somehow hears the familiar voice of Joseph outside, she squeals and she asks Johnny with wide eyes, “I heard Uncle Joseph!”

“No, you hear it wrong. It’s just the wind.”

“Uncle Joseph?” Giorno tilts his head and he opens the front door before Johnny can register what’s happening, and Joseph grins when the door opens, “oh hi Giorno! Are you letting your uncle in?”

“Giorno!” Josuke who is still in his father’s arm exclaims when he sees the blonde toddler and he grins wider when he sees Jolyne, “Jolyne!”

“Josuke!” Jolyne pats on Josuke’s leg and Joseph lets his elder son down, while Josefumi is silent while Giorno tugs at the cloth of his shorts, “good morning Josefumi.”

“Good morning Gio~”

Johnny facepalms and Caesar peeks from the back of his husband and asks, “so, is it alright then?”

“Well, if I can accept five children, why not seven?”

And despite Johnny’s sarcasm, the children don’t catch the meaning and start cheering, “yeah! I wanna play with you, Josuke!” Jolyne hugs him and he laughs when he feels ticklish, while Josefumi who is placed down on the floor tugs at Giorno’s sleeve, “where’s your brothers?”

“Sleeping. Wanna go see them?”

“Okay!”

Giorno leads Josefumi to the nursery room, and Jolyne is somehow dancing with Josuke, making Joseph swoon at how cute they are and Johnny grumbles, “just until tonight! I’m not making seven children sleep at the same time because it’s hard.”

“Thanks Johnny! You’re the best! Come on Caesar, we need to quickly seal the deal before the client says no.”

Thanking Johnny for the help, Caesar pulls Joseph away and they enter their car, and drive off to possibly their office. After feeling more awake with caffeine in his system, Johnny washes his cup and starts taking out ingredients for pancakes, hoping this will satisfy the children.

“I just hope Gyro will wake up soon to help out in babysitting. I don’t know how large families survived in the past.”

With seven children in the house, Johnny and Gyro know it’s just a matter of time before their house is turned upside down with their boundless energy, so they have to somehow get them out of the house and tire themselves in a large playground, which is why they are now in the park near their house and sitting on a bench, where Johnny is bouncing Ungalo while Gyro is bouncing Rikiel, while Jolyne, Josuke, Donatello are running around, and Giorno is stopping Josefumi from putting everything he sees into his mouth.

“Say Johnny, you said before you want kids right? Do you still want to?”

Turning to face his husband, Johnny is making a face and shakes his head, “maybe not now. We are practically being worn down by these bundles of energies almost every week.”

“I think this is the first time we take care of all seven of them at once, no? Normally it’s just the brothers, or just the twins, or just Jolyne.”

Nodding, Johnny makes a face when he smells something odd coming from Ungalo’s diapers, and sighs, “I think Ungalo pooped.”

“I’m not helping this time. I had enough of poops and urine in the hospitals.”

“Tsk.”

When Johnny gets up and goes to the nearest washroom, Gyro is humming the cheese song with Rikiel nodding to the beats until he is surprised with how a familiar looking child come running and hugs Giorno, earning a surprised yelp from the four year old toddler, and Buccierati comes rushing over and tells his son not to surprise others this way. Gyro stands up and approaches them, and Buccierati brightens when he sees him, “signore Zeppeli! Long time no see. It’s rare to see you in the park.”

“Yeah, babysitting.”

“Wait, all of them?” he looks around and he chuckles, “it must be hard work.”

“Nah, I’m fine. It’s my husband that is suffering the most.”

Gyro laughs when he sees Giorno is practically being crushed by the older kid named Mista, and he looks around and asks when he doesn’t spot the goth and the other children of Buccierati, “where is your husband and the other children?”

“Oh, they are with him back home. Mista just recovered from a flu and he really wants to come out after being cooped indoors for days, so I brought him out without his siblings.”

“Eh, it must be hard taking care of a sick child.”

“Yeah, especially when he can’t sit still in one place unless I play some cheesy romantic movies for him.”

“A seven year old watching romantic movies? I guess he will grow up to be a casanova, huh?”

Johnny comes back from the washroom to see Gyro chatting with Buccierati in Italian, while Giorno is showing some flowers grown in the park to both Josefumi and one of Buccierati’s kid who he remembers vaguely as Mista or something, and he approaches the adults, but his presence is known when Rikiel whines and wants to play with Ungalo, “ah Johnny, you’re back! I thought you were having trouble with Ungalo.”

“You know it’s not the first time I handled a baby.”

“Do you know Buccierati, that my husband cursed a whole afternoon when he got peed on by Donatello two years ago?”

“Oi Gyro!” Buccierati just smiles and the adults continue talking while the children are running around, occasionally getting nagged by Johnny. Overall, it’s a nice afternoon for the children.

Giorno and Jolyne are sobbing when Josuke and Josefumi have to go home when Joseph and Caesar come fetch them, and after saying goodbye and making promises to play together soon, Giorno and Jolyne cheer up when Gyro takes out chocolate bars from the fridge and offers to them, where Donatello whines about wanting some sweets and Johnny shuts his mouth by giving him a juice box, which luckily he accepts without further complains.

The children are put to sleep pretty quickly, since they are tired from all the running and playing this afternoon in the park. After closing the door softly in the nursery room, Gyro goes to his bedroom where Johnny just finished his shower and the doctor grins, “Johnny! Are you tired?”

“Of course I’m tired! Why do you ask though?”

“Well, I thought I wanna give you a massage. Are you up for the offer?”

Hoping they won’t be too loud later and wake the children up, Johnny lies down on the bed and grumbles, “be quick, and be quiet about it.”

“Nyoho, eager to finish it, huh?”

Johnny rolls his eyes and lets his husband’s hands roam.

The next morning, it’s time to say goodbye to the children, where Jonathan and Dio come to fetch their sons, while Jotaro and Kakyoin come to fetch their daughter. After spending almost an hour stopping Dio and Jotaro from fighting each other, the couples drive off separately and after closing the door, Johnny sighs in relief and Gyro chuckles, “well, I’m going to work, Johnny.”

“Yeah. Be careful.”

Oddly enough Johnny suddenly feels lonely after Gyro goes to work, and he quickly does the laundry to distract himself. Maybe it’s time to have children of their own.

Chapter 2

Time skipped to four years later after the events in chapter 1

Chapter Text

Buccierati and Abbacchio sometimes have long holidays, since their trade business has a few non peak seasons in a year, and this cheers Buccierati a lot since he loves spending time with his family, namely his husband and their adopted children. They have been through a lot, trying to survive the harsh street life back in Naples, until Buccierati found a chance and grabs it, and they migrated to the states, which at first was hard on their children due to the culture and language difference, but they are fast learners, and soon they are speaking in English with the other children in the neighbourhood.

And right now they are having one of their holidays in Fall, making his four children happier to have them at home, though right now he has to solve a problem first, where Fugo is threatening to stab Narancia with a fork if he asks him about maths again.

“I swear Narancia if you ask me addition again-” Narancia whines and he runs from Fugo and hides behind Mista, who is trying to choose what songs to play on the new MP3 player Buccierati bought for him last birthday, Trish at the side whines when she can’t get the doll clothes right no matter how much she adjusted it, and Narancia shouts, “mom! Fugo wants to kill me again!”

“Did not!”

“Narancia, maybe I should tutor you in maths during this holidays,” shaking his head, he quickly takes the fork out from Fugo’s hand and says, “fork is for eating, and not stabbing your brother.”

“But-”

Abbacchio who enters the living hall after climbing down the staircase frowns when he sees a familiar car drives into their porch area from the windows and he asks, “Bruno, are we expecting visitors?”

“As I recall, no.”

The doorbell rings and Buccierati checks the peephole, and he looks so surprised he steps back a few steps and whispers, “what is signore Dio doing here?”

“What?!” Abbacchio peeks and he steps back too, looking a little disgusted, “and what is he wearing? While having one of his sons witnessing that fashion disaster?”

“I, Dio, knows that you are all at home right now, so open up before I sue all of you.”

“Father!”

“Giorno, keep quiet. Let me solve this problem of yours.”

Knowing it must be related to Giorno somehow, Buccierati decided to open the door and greets the 2 metre tall blonde lawyer, “greetings, signore Dio. What a pleasant surprise-”

“Enough of the pleasantries, for I, Dio, is here on behalf of my son’s request. Giorno, tell Buccierati what you want.”

The blonde child stares at his father for assurance, and after he nods, Giorno turns to look at the Buccierati and asks meekly, “Mr Buccierati? Can I play with Mista today? In the park?”

He smiles at the 8 year old’s request and he pats on his husband’s arm, “go and get Mista. I’m sure he is eager to play with Giorno here,” and Abbacchio just nods and walks off, not wanting to face the grumpy looking lawyer. After a few moments of silence between the three of them, someone is running across the floor and the 11 year old Mista pops out and grins at his friend, “GioGio! So good to see you!”

“Mista!”

“Mom, I’m going to the park!” Mista quickly wears his shoes and Dio frowns when Buccierati doesn’t correct him, and just tells him to be careful, which he quickly nods and he follows Giorno the moment he is outside of the house, running together towards the park hand in hand, giggling about something. Dio just rolls his eyes and he bids farewell, jumping into his car and drives off, possibly back to his house. Closing the door, Buccierati walks back to the living hall, and he sighs when Fugo and Narancia are fighting again.

“Kids! No more outings if you don’t behave yourselves!”

Caesar is blowing large bubbles for Josuke and Josefumi to chase around while his husband Joseph is watching from the bench, and he pauses what he is doing when he sees Giorno entering the park with Mista, and he waves at them, “Giorno! Mista! Do you wanna play bubbles?”

“Uncle Caesar!” Giorno runs towards them and Josuke grins widely, “Giorno!”

“Josuke!”

“Yo Josuke!” Mista waves at the pompadour kid and he grins back, “hello Mista!”

And when Caesar starts blowing more bubbles while Mista asks why Josefumi has a gap between his teeth, Joseph suddenly laughs and he points at his husband, “Caesarino! To think you are a bubble blowing slave to children!”

“Shut up JoJo, or I will drench you with all these soap solutions!”

The children are laughing when Caesar is chasing after Joseph, where they run around for a few laps until Joseph bumps into a grumpy looking Jotaro who is passing by, and before Joseph can run further away, he is caught by his cousin and Caesar thanks Jotaro before holding him into an armlock, “let’s see how far you can resist!”

”Ahhhhhh Caesarino! Help me Jotaro, I can’t breathe!!!”

“Suits you right.”

“Uncle Jotaro, where’s Jolyne?” Josuke looks around when he doesn’t see the familiar twin buns girl anywhere, and Jotaro grunts, “she went to Japan to visit her grandparents.”

Jotaro walks off after warning the kids to behave, and Joseph who is out of breath is lying on the grass and whines, “Caesar~”

“Lie down all you want, I’m going to play with the children.”

When Giorno gets tired from chasing all the bubbles, he kneels down and pants while Mista lights up when he sees an ice cream truck stopping nearby and he pulls Giorno’s arm, “GioGio! There’s gelato! Come, let’s go buy a scoop!”

“Gelato? What is gelato?”

“Oh right, it’s known as ice cream to the rest of you,” Mista scratches his neck and he grins, “you know what? Gelato is the best! I heard from my parents that they are not the same as ice cream, and it’s only available in Europe! One day, I’m going to save all the money and travel there to get all the nice things there!”

“Sounds nice. Maybe we can go together?”

“Yeah! Promise?” Mista holds out his pinky and Giorno smiles before he hooks it with his own, and they both grin at each other before they run together towards the truck, where Josefumi has already purchased a huge cup with three scoops while Joseph is ordering for himself.

Eager to earn more spending money and keep his children happy with more playmates, Buccierati decided to take the part time job of being a babysitter, which makes his husband annoyed but complies as Buccierati looks happy taking care of children, and right now their house is filled with eleven children with four of them are their own.

Jolyne and Trish are happily playing with dolls, where Donatello is offering fashion advice for the models, Giorno, Mista, Fugo, Narancia, and Rikiel are watching the TV where Mista is arguing with Fugo about the plot, Ungalo and Josefumi are raiding the bathroom for bathing supplies for some odd reason, and Josuke is playing games on the handheld console he brought over himself while sitting beside Giorno.

“Why do you even agree to take care of so many children at once? Our house will look like a warzone after this,” Abbacchio keeps grumbling and Buccierati pecks on his cheek quickly and smiles, “don’t you think this is lively? And our children are happy spending time with so many friends at once.”

“I bet you’re going to adopt all of them if something were to happen to their parents.”

“You know me so well, Leone.”

Buccierati just laughs when his husband stares at him with a horrified expression.
