Your quirk was normally subtle and didn’t require you to think about using or not using it. It was more of a reflex so mistakes did happen… occasionally. That is to say a LOT.

Right now, you were chasing a spiky, green-haired boy of about the age of 8 around the Heights Alliance Dorms.

“Please come back! Bakugou is going to kill me if you get hurt.” You cried at the little boy, who was running full tilt down the third-floor dorm hallway.

Bakugou was super particular about keeping his hero gear in tip-top shape, especially because he believed he was the best and his belongings should be as well and since this kid was technically Bakugou’s gauntlet, the rule applied to him too.

------

Let’s rewind to about 20 minutes before this…

All Might was standing in the camera room, flanked by the majority of class 1-a. They were closely monitoring the 2v2 battle taking place in Ground Beta between Team B (aka Bakugou and Jirou) and Team J (aka Kaminari and you).

Kaminari and you knew you were extremely screwed, especially since Jirou could find your location and send Bakugou exploding after you. Trying to be as stealthy as possible, you crept through the winding hallways and metal vents that littered the training ground.

Sliding your hand across some pipes and a few wooden beams, you brought them to life with a soft pop. They didn’t say anything, sensing that this was not a time to make noise and filed in behind the yellow-haired boy as you continued toward the sound of explosions. Not the big booms Bakugou normally created but the small cracks and pops Bakugou’s hands let out when he was gearing up to fight.

You peeked around a corner spotting Jirou pacing around a wide-open room. The walls and ceiling were entirely made of metal, perfect for Kaminari’s quirk. You looked at Kaminari silently communicating your idea to him. He nodded, a wide grin splayed across his face, and furrowed his brows in concentration.

Jirou had her jacks in the ground and as soon as Kaminari began to activate his quirk she whirled around toward your hiding place. The purple-haired girl opened her mouth, probably to alert Bakugou of your position, but her cry was cut short as Kaminari sent a bolt of electricity through the room. It paralyzed her, and Kaminari, along with your personified pipes, ran in to put the tape on her, marking her defeated.

As he stood up and turned to you, a black, green, and orange blur hurtled into him sending him careening through the metal wall. You looked at him, eyes widening as you took in his dazed face. Oh, he was definitely out cold. You thought as you rounded on Bakugou who was smirking in your direction.

“I can’t believe that Dunce Face was dumb enough to run right out into the open like that” he called, “That is the most obvious trap anyone could set though I’m disappointed that you didn’t fall for it too.”

His cockiness was getting on your nerves and you glared his way, putting as much malice in your eyes as you could. He laughed at your pissed off face.

“Let’s finish this.” He growled, crouching into position to launch himself at you. You did the same and prepared your quirk to disable his gauntlets.

Rocketing himself forward, you met in a flurry of punches, blocks, and grappling as you both tried to subdue the other. You leapt apart and Bakugou made to charge again, but this time you were ready.

As Bakugou’s signature right hook swung at your face, you grabbed his hand and flipped him over, copying the move you’d seen Midoriya use. In a fluid motion, you hurled onto him pinning his arms above his head and sitting on his stomach.

Both of you were gasping for air, chests heaving as you caught your breath. You grinned down at him saying, “I guess I’m coming out on top today.”

He frowned but the twinkle in his eyes told another story. Before you could react he had flipped you, putting you in the same position you had put him in seconds earlier.

“Who did you say was coming out on top?” He growled, face mere inches from yours. Hot flaming fire erupted from your face as you let out a yelp and he tied your hands with the tape, marking you out now as well.

Then a pop sounded.

Not one of Bakugou’s, but yours.

Bakugou gasped in surprise as he looked to see a small, green-haired boy dangling from his arm.

“What the hell did you do?” He said slowly, as the boy looked up at him with orange eyes.

You glanced over, doing a double-take of the situation. That was not how your quirk normally worked, but you guessed it was fine.

Faster than you or Bakugou could react, the boy dropped to the ground and took off.

“Hey! Get back here you little shit!” Bakugou hollered, launching in hot pursuit after the smol child.

Still stunned by the newest facet of your quirk, you were slower to get up. But as reality hit, you realized Bakugou might kill the kid if you weren’t there to stop him.

“Um… All Might?”

“Yes Y/n. I saw everything. Go fix it and then come back when you’ve finished. And bring Bakugou with you.” All Might announced, adding his signature hearty chuckle at the end.

“Ok. Be back soon.” You called, running to catch up to the infuriated, soon-to-be hero.

------

It took a solid 8 minutes for Bakugou to grab the boy and find you outside the dorms.

“How long does your damn quirk last again?” Bakugou questioned you, struggling to hold the squirming boy.

“About 30 to 45 minutes normally but this seems a bit different so it could be longer.” You replied, hoping he wouldn’t kill you for your mistake.

“Fine,” he huffed, “let’s go.”

Leading the way to his dorm, he gave you the squirming kid, unlocked the door, and pulled you inside.

“We were supposed to go back to cla-“

“Nope this little shit needs to be watched, otherwise things aren’t gonna go well.” Bakugou cut you off.

“Can we call him something other than the names you’ve given him?” You asked.

“Yeah. Whatever.” Bakugou’s clipped tone replied.

You directed your gaze to the boy, giving him a small smile and asking in a calm voice, “Does Hinoko sound like a good name?”

The boy’s, Hinoko’s, eyes lit up and he nodded vigorously in agreement. He jumped at you, wrapping his small arms around your waist, and clung to you as if his life depended on it. Awww he was so cute . You thought and you wrapped your arms around him too.

Bakugou scoffed from across the room but you knew he was just jealous. Underneath his spiky exterior was a determined but caring guy who just didn’t know what to do with his feelings. Pushing away the thoughts of him, you focused on Hinoko and keeping him busy.

“Do you want to play a game or something with me? What about MarioKart? Or Super Smash Bros?” You asked the small boy. He shrugged in an I-don’t-really-care-

whatever-you-want-to-do kind of way and said in a small voice, “I’m not really sure how to play but can you teach me?”

He began to get the hang of the controls after a few rounds and your heart melted at the sight of his wide smile and bright eyes. At some point, Bakugou joined in and your competitive selves began to emerge.

“Come on Y/n! Is that the best you can do?” Bakugou taunted you, chuckling at your pouting face as you said, “shuddup Kacchan. No one asked for your opinion.”

His eyes widened and he smirked as he set down the controller and tackled you, tickling your sides and making you giggle uncontrollably.

“S-s-stop Bakugou,” you gasped between breaths of air.

“This is what you get for calling me Kacchan. Don’t EVER call me Kacchan!” He playfully scolded you.

You both laughed a bit and then Bakugou stated that he was going to get some food for the three of you. He walked out the door and you looked around searching for Hinoko.

He was gone… the door wide open.

Oh no oh no oh no… Bakugou is going to kill me. I lost Hinoko.

In the confusion of your tickle fight, Hinoko must have slipped out. Now you had to find him before Bakugou found out you lost him.

Sprinting through the dorms, you called out for Hinoko desperately hoping he hadn’t gone outside the building. A green-haired blob sprinted across the lawn outside one of the windows, catching your attention.

“Crap, crap, crap! He got outside!” You scolded yourself for your stupidity, taking the stairs two at a time to get out the front door.

After ten minutes of chasing Hinoko around, you were getting out of breath. Lungs heaving, you realized he was headed back towards Heights Alliance. Summoning a burst of speed and adrenaline, you bolted after him almost grabbing him before he jumped into someone’s arms and you collided with a hard chest.

“I see that someone has been keeping Y/n busy while I got food.” the voice rumbled with laughter and you looked up to see Bakugou grinning down at you.

“It wasn’t all my fault!” you complained, “he was gone when you left too!”

Bakugou laughed again, guiding you inside and back to his room. Hinoko dug into the food, eating just as much as Bakugou, maybe more, and then you helped him clean up.

You took the trash downstairs, humming to yourself, and then went to your room to grab a change of clothes.

As you returned to Bakugou’s room, you saw a sweatshirt sitting on his desk chair with a note on top.

 Hey Y/n,

I thought you might be cold so here’s a sweatshirt of mine just in case.

         -Bakugou

You smiled at the thoughtfulness and put the sweatshirt on, becoming enveloped by the caramel smell that lingered from when he last wore it. Turning around you heard small snores and the view you took in was endearing.

Bakugou lay on the bed, Hinoko in his arms, both sound asleep. A small smile graced your face as you walked to the bed.

They must have been tired from running around and then eating all that food.

You lay down on the bed on the other side of Hinoko so that you and Bakugou were cuddling him and drifted off into a blissful sleep, the caramel smell surrounding you.

------

Your eyes fluttered open to a back-to-normal gauntlet between you and Bakugou. You smiled as you grabbed it, setting it gently on the floor. As you began to turn around, Bakugou groaned and wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you into the little spoon position against him.

As sleep overtook you, you reflected on today and thought, Bakugou and I have a lot to talk about when we wake up.
