Edgeworth looks up from his tea. “Hm? Who?”
Phoenix speaks into the crook of his palm, resting his chin there as he continues to gaze out the window. “The kids. You know. Apollo and Gavin.”
Edgeworth sets his cup down with a ceramic 'clink'. “Surely you can’t be serious.”
“I dunno.” He concludes, nibbling on the crust of his sandwich. “I think there are similarities... Maybe we’re both so damn old at this point we don’t even remember what it feels like to be young.”
Edgeworth huffs a monosyllabic sound that could be mistaken for laughter. The smallest of smiles plays at his lips; his tea goes untouched for several long moments. “Perhaps you’re right,” he eventually says.
Phoenix hopes he isn’t.
