Work Text:
“Anyone that doesn’t have a man singing in the background, turn on your mics.”
Looking at the computer screen then at Mole, Spring let out a loud groan. Seeing that annoying snicker painted on the man at the other side of the table. “Want me to sing the fandango, or top 20’s kids bops?”
Brows furrowing he set out to typing, ’can’t turn on mic. I have a man singing in the background, sorry.’ Perhaps it would be shaken off as a joke by his class, but he knew the moment he did turn on the mic Mole would be screaming out ‘livin la vida loca’, or something like that, at the top of his lungs.
“Alright, but then you need to keep your camera on, so I know everyone is paying attention,” the teacher replied, returning to the lesson at hand. Meanwhile Spring took the time to glance over the screen, seeing a smirk accompanied by a raised brow. Taking a deep mental sigh, he turned on the camera for the zoom call, picking up the computer about to make his way out of there.
“Babe where are you going? Food is about to arrive, gotta stay here~,” patting the seat next to him Mole made it rather clear, he was planning to be an ass.
“Text me when it comes”
“That’s not very romantic.”
Rolling his eyes he allowed the other to have his way, but he sat back at his original seat opposite of Mole. It didn’t prevent the other from being a nuisance, moving over to sit next to Spring when Spring wouldn’t sit by him. Casting a short glance at the other Spring shot down all the daggers deemed necessary, turning back to focus on his lesson before anyone noticed his mood.
Studying his own favourite subject, Mole eyed Spring with admiration and whole-hearted love. His love, love for the victim of his mischievous hobbies. Moving his hand up to hold Spring’s, he gave the other a soft smile, thumb rubbing in light circles against the beautiful skin. Serotonin oozed through all of his body as he saw his previously sour partner soften up, now with a light color of red on his cheeks. Adorable. Going further in he lightly pulled at Springs hand, bringing it to his own cheek as he moved into the light touch of Spring’s palm. Turning his head towards the open hand he placed a soft kiss at the gentle hand. Humming songs of praise and admiration. Eyes fluttered up to see Spring attention was indeed on him. That open-eyed helpless expression was enough to make Mole want to devour him right there.
Cracking up yet another grin Mole successfully agitated yet another adorable reaction from Spring. The latter pulled his hand away, cheeks puffed out in the way that told Mole ’you’re annoying me’, but Spring being Spring he wouldn’t say that. Not yet at least, and Mole wasn’t one to push the buttons that far. “You alright darling? Your cheeks are rather red, perhaps I should get you some water.”
Spring’s eyes darted to Mole for what seemed like a brief moment, “I’m fine. Water sounds good too,” he mumbled, still waiting for the zoom meet to finish off so he could call it a day.
“Alright, be back in a few.” Getting up from his seat he made his way to their kitchen. Pulling out a glass from the cupboard then filling it with water. Spring was sitting at the kitchen isle with his call, since they were both waiting for the takeout to arrive so they could eat.
Returning with the glass, Mole decided to be a bit more of a bastard and get up behind Spring with the glass, letting himself show on the camera. At least for those three seconds before Spring frantically turned the camera off. Water glass was placed down next to him, Mole leaning down to plant a kiss on the top of his head. “Do you have to do that? You can stay out of frame until the call ends..” Spring sighed, leaning back against Mole’s chest unconsciously when pulled into a loose hug.
“Sorry, but your calls have been non-stop all day, and at least I get this brief moment to hold you.” Nuzzling against the brunette’s soft hair he found his comfortable spot.
“Yeah yeah..” Spring sighed, hand going up to rub at Mole’s arm around him. “Don’t you have work to occupy yourself with? My call should be nearly done, plus you should have something to do.” It was strange how much Mole seemed to have been loafing around while Spring had his online lectures. Surely a man that could provide for them both must have had some sort of important work to attend.
“Don’t worry about it” avoiding the topic now, like many times before, he let go of Spring. Sitting back down next to the other, arm resting against the table top while. Leaning into his hand, back to eyeing Spring with the deepest admiration. “I’ll sit still now. It’s just a wrap-up, yeah? So i’ll just do everything I wanna do with you now once the call is over~.”
Somehow that sentence sent a slight shiver down Spring’s body. Surely it was the wording he was looking too into, not that he would let Mole know. “Yeah, sounds good. I’ll let you have an extra spring roll when the food is here. If you manage that, of course.”
Letting out a snort he eyed the other with humour. “Oh yeah, out of the ten springrolls I have ordered you will give me an extra addition to my two spring rolls? You’ll actually award me a third?”
“Shut up or I’ll take all ten,” he grumbled, turning the camera back on the call.
“Sure, but it’s your tummy ache, babe.”

When the call finally ended Spring could with joy close the laptop screen, met with a table decked out with a various choice of foods packed in small boxes. The smell made his mouth water as his eyes skimmed through the options. He barely noticed the plate placed before him, only taking note when Mole cleared his throat to get his attention. “Go ahead, have your pick. But I at least want some spring rolls.”
Spring looked up at Mole, a slight smile cracking through. “I only promised three.” He reached out for one of the two noodle boxes, emptying the contents onto his plate then picking out what he wanted to add onto his plate. Mole did the same, first after Spring had finished picking his own plate.
“You know you don’t always have to wait for me.”
Mole gave it a light shrug, sitting down next to Spring again. “There’s more than enough food. It’s already looking well for late-night, leftover snacking for you~,” with his free hand he reached up to ruffle, or mess up, Spring’s hair.
“It's finally the weekend, I wanna do other things than snack when I finally have free time.”
At this Mole’s eyes perked up, looking with grave interest at the other “Oh? Like what?” He tried to contain the interest in his voice and not give himself off too much, but he would lie if he said there was none at all.
“Sleep.”
Ah. As expected, really. “Well, at least fall asleep in my arms. If you’re gonna sleep the whole weekend I might as well keep you warm.” He bit down on a fried piece of chicken, humming slightly between the bites.
“Hmm… I’ll consider it,” Spring replied, leaning slightly against Mole’s broad shoulder.
“I’ll definitely consider it.”
