Chapter 1: Your Name I

Chapter Text

261 words, 2 minutes.

After Akane and Josaku got married, the sparks quieted down once they resumed their regular lives.

For Akane, that was university. For Josaku, it was construction.

He was so many things, that man. A motorcyclist. A university graduate. A construction worker. A husband.

A sexual assault survivor.

Akane stuck by his side and watched him grow into who he is today. To say she didn't feel a sense of pride and belonging for doing that would be a massive lie on her part.

Yeah, those "sparks" that died down?

Nah, their love for each other was more like fireworks.

Fireworks that intensified when they were kept apart for too long, whether it was Josaku's long work hours or Akane's studious habits.

Thankfully, after a lot of nagging over text and in person, Akane got Tang Rou to give her notes on material for the 4th year of the International Trade program since she already graduated.

Akane needed them because she was now in her last year at Chongqing University.

She was forever grateful to Tang Rou, for those notes lessened the weight on her shoulders. She could easily devote more time on her Chinese Literature program and pour whatever passion her body possessed into Music Performance.

Tang Rou has been taking time off to plan her own future, wondering if she should forget about working at the Happy Internet Café with her best friend—the social, energetic Chen Guo—and devote time to help her father run Tang Corporation Limited.

"Whichever you choose, I'm sure you won't regret it," Akane had assured her.
