Chapter Text
To be honest, Midoriya was kind of expecting tonight to go downhill. Things were just a little too perfect.
For once, when he cooked his weekly Friday dinner with Yagi, they didn’t burn anything or forget any ingredients. Midoriya had gotten his homework for the weekend done that afternoon, so he had the entire day tomorrow to just relax with Iida and wait for their other boyfriend to come back from a visit to the Todoroki estate.
But, he didn’t expect it to be this bad.
They were exchanging pleasant conversation and telling each other about their weeks when Iida burst through the door, looking like he had run all the way from the dorms.
“Izuku!” Iida started, taking Yagi aback for a second at the urgency in his voice, “Haven’t you checked your phone?”
Midoriya stood up, concerned about the extremely worried tone in his boyfriend’s voice. “No, Tenya what’s going on?” Iida showed him his phone, and Midoriya’s heart dropped.
Shoto <3: please come pick me up
izukus not picking up pls hurry
im sending u my location please
hes going to find me soon hurry
Iida Tenya:On my way, bringing Izuku with me.
Who is going to find you Shoto?
Shoto please answer me.
Are you safe right now?
There was no response.
“Toshi, I need you to drive,” Midoriya said, sending the location to his father-figures phone.
Yagi already had his coat on and was grabbing his keys, figuring from the frantic demeanors of the two boys that it was urgent. “Midoriya, you can explain what’s going on when we get in the car.”
~~~
They arrived at the location that Todoroki sent, which was under a bridge about a mile from the Todoroki estate, and worryingly, there was no sign of the boy. Yagi could feel the panic radiating off of Iida and Midoriya, and he was quite unsettled himself.
“Shoto? It’s Tenya and Izuku,” Iida yelled, frantically waving his phone’s flashlight around. A minute later, he received a text notification from Shoto.
Shoto <3: You already found me? That’s inconceivable.
Iida let out a relieved sigh. Of course Shoto was still here, and he was just waiting to confirm who they were.
“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means,” He called into the night.
A small pile of rocks that was pressed against the wall fell apart, revealing an old drainage pipe behind it. A battered Todoroki climbed out of the pipe, stumbling forward to be caught by his boyfriends, who were at his side in an instant. Midoriya’s hands cupped his face, both to wipe away his tears and to get a good look at his injuries.
He had a black eye as well as several other bruises scattered around on his body, a split lip, a cut on his forehead, and scrapes on his knees and palms.
“Sho...” Midoriya whispered, planting a soft kiss on Todoroki’s forehead. “What happened?”
Todoroki started crying even harder, burying his face into Iida’s chest. Iida and Midoriya shared a look of concern, and Midoriya leaned forward, rubbing comforting circles into Todoroki’s back.
“Maybe that can wait until we have tended to his injuries,” Iida said, shifting Todoroki in his arms until he could pick him and carry him back to the car.
Yagi couldn’t help the sharp gasp that escaped his mouth when he saw the state Todoroki was in. What the hell had happened?
~~~
The three of them were sitting in Yagi’s bathroom, Midoriya and Iida patching up their boyfriend. Todoroki still hadn’t said anything since they had picked him up from under the bridge.
That was, until Yagi brought him a cup of tea. He was about to leave to go make more tea when Todoroki cleared his throat.
“Um, Mr. All Might?” Todoroki asked quietly, his voice hoarse. Yagi turned around. “Yes?”
“You didn’t…” Todoroki took a deep breath, “You didn’t say anything about Midoriya, Tenya and I to my father, did you?”
Yagi’s eyes widened. Sure, he had had his suspicions about Endeavor. He was a little concerned at how worried Todoroki was when he asked him to not tell his father about his relationship. He took a step back into the bathroom, his lips set in a hard line.
“Young Todoroki, I did not say a word to Endeavor. Did he…do this?”
Todoroki gave a weak nod.
“Oh, honey…” Midoriya latched himself onto Todoroki’s side, and Iida pulled both of them onto his lap, hugging them and whispering words of comfort to Shoto.
“Todoroki. May I go speak to Aizawa about this?”
“I don’t care, go ahead,” he mumbled, nuzzling his head under Iida’s chin. Yagi left, leaving the three of them to themselves.
They sat on the floor in silence for a few more minutes, until Iida decided it was time to move to the couch. He hoisted both of his boyfriends up and carried them into the living room, setting them down on the couch, and grabbing the fluffiest throw blanket he could find before laying down next to them again.
~~~
Toshinori knocked on the door impatiently. After four more minutes of knocking, a disgruntled Aizawa opened the door, rubbing his eyes.
“Nemuri, I swear to… Yagi? What are you doing here?”
He shifted his weight from one foot to the other. “May I come in? It’s important.” Aizawa gave a confused nod and opened the door further, motioning for him to come in. He flicked on the lights as he walked back into the apartment.
“Just, keep it down, all right? Eri had a pretty bad nightmare and it took us forever to get her back to sleep,” Aizawa mumbled.
“Of course,” Yagi said, being sure to keep his voice down. “Okay, this is kind of a lot, but here we go. So, Friday night dinner was interrupted by Iida, who had been sent several concerning messages from Todoroki. We picked him up, and he was… not in good shape. All scratched up and bruised.”
“Do you know who did it?” Aizawa asked, leaning forward in his seat.
Yagi shifted uncomfortably. “Yes, um… it was Endeavor.”
“What the fuck?” Aizawa snapped, much louder than he intended to. He heard a faint yelp at the noise, followed by crying. A minute later, Mic walked into the kitchen in an oversized t-shirt that he borrowed from Shouta and the Midnight hero merch sweatpants that Nemuri had gotten him as a gag gift.
“Eri is laying down in our bed now. Why were you yelling? And why is Yagi in our kitchen?” He asked, still adjusting his hearing aids.
“Hi,” Yagi said awkwardly. Hizashi nodded at him.
“Yagi just came back from picking up Todoroki. Apparently, the kid got the shit beat out of him by Endeavor.” Hizashi’s eyes grew wide.
“What the fuck? What happened?”
“Apparently, he found out that Todoroki’s gay and in a relationship.”
Hizashi started pacing around in a little circle. “Son of a bitch…”
Aizawa leaned back in his chair, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. “Obviously we’re not letting him go back to that house. That part’s going to be easy. But what are we supposed to do about Endeavor? We can’t just let him off the hook, but he’s such an influential figure that he could probably weasel his way out of it anyway.” Aizawa sat in silent concentration for a moment, his face growing more and more somber.
Hizashi stopped pacing, coming to a stop right behind Aizawa’s chair so that he could lean down and rest his chin on his husband’s head. “We’ll figure it out, Shou. For now, we should focus on Todoroki, ya dig?”
Aizawa placed a hand over the one on his shoulder and nodded. “I’ll speak to Todoroki and Nezu first thing in the morning.”
Yagi nodded. “I’m going to head back and check up on how he’s doing.”
“Keep us updated,” Aizawa said.
“Of course,” Yagi responded before closing the door behind him.
