Chapter Text
You were currently standing in front of a famous Teyvat High School. Your first day here. How will it go? you asked yourself in your mind. There was no doubt that you were scared. Wishing that you could just go back home. And you were really thinking about it. About just leaving and not coming back. Unfortunately, your thinking was interrupted by someone bumping into you.
"Oh, I’m so sorry!" a taller guy with ginger hair said. Your phone that was in your hands, just a second ago, fell on the floor. The said male quickly picked it up and handed it over to you.
"It’s okay," you responded absentmindly as you were checking the phone for any scratch or damage. Luckily, there was none. This guy was pretty lucky. Because if there was any damage, he would not leave your presence undamaged. He shot you a smile and disappeared as quickly as he appeared. It was a time for you to finally make your move to the building, too. Who would want to be late on their first day, right?
---
Walking through the hallway, you were searching for your class that you will be in this school year. You were in 2-A. You spoted your class.
"Hey there!" a brunette, who was standing in front of door to your classroom said, smiling gently, "are you (Y/N) (L/N)?"
"How do you know that?" there was a visible confusion on your face. How could anyone know your name here? You just got here and she didn’t look like a teacher. Well, that was an obvious fact. Teachers doesn’t wear a school uniform.
"Well, we are in the same class! Our teacher asked me to help you, in case you need something. She is quite busy right now," she explained with her smile not leaving her face, "anyway, I’m Amber!" Amber extended her arm to you. It surprised you for a second. Do people still shake hands? With a bit of hesitation, you smiled at her and took her hand.
"Alright, follow me!" as soon as she said it, she made her move into the classroom. You were right behind her, following her as she told you to. When you came inside the classroom, there were instantly many eyes on you. You were a new student, so it is expected that many will be interested in you. The sudden relocation of your mother’s job made you transfer to this school, mid-year.
"Here," Amber nudged you to sit in the empty desk, "this is the only empty space, so you don’t have much of choice where to sit. But you have a window right next to you!" Ah yes, sitting right next to the window in the back of the class. That is the dream of every anime main character.
"The first lesson is about to start. If you need anything else just come to me. I sit right there!" she pointed at the sit that was in the middle of the classroom.
"Okay, thank you." you were kind of happy, that there was someone so nice in here. At first, you were worried people would be mean to you. But, there is no sign of anyone mean near you. You looked to your right and saw a girl sitting next to you. She had her black hair, that was on ends blue, in two braids. Alright (Y/N), it’s time to make some friends!
You were ready to spoke up and say hi to her, but you didn’t for some reason. You were just staring at the person sitting next to you, thinking what should you say. If you just said hi it could be awkward, or not. However, your staring was pretty awkward and it didn’t go unnoticed.
"Why are you staring so much?" the guy that was sitting right in front of you asked. Your cheeks were becoming red as tomatoes. The person that was talked about looked at you both, which made you uncomfortable.
"I-I didn’t mean to stare at her!" you said quickly and the male bursted into laughter after your words. You were slightly taken back by his actions. What was so funny about that?
"H-her? Did-did you just call- Oh god haha-" he was trying to talk through his loud laugh. He couldn’t stop laughing for some reason and you were genuinely confused by this.
"Did you just call Venti a girl?" he said after he calmed down, still with a chuckle after saying those words. You blushed furiously. You didn’t dare look at the person that you just misgendered, you were too scared and ashamed by your mistake.
"Wha!? I’m not a girl!" the boy with braids cried out, offended. Venti was sometimes teased by people just because there was always someone who thought he was a girl at first. He never understood why someone would have thought that. Some people said it was his long hair, others that he just looked a bit feminine.
"I’m sorry!" you stood up from your chair bowing apologetically, repeating the same words. It was just your first day and you could feel that people would hate you here now. At least that what you thought. Venti just sighed at gently smiled. The other blue haired guy was just laughing at the scene before him. He found it very amusing.
"Don’t worry, it happens sometimes," he chuckled lightheartly.
"You’re are our new classmate, right?" the other male asked smirking at you, "I’m Kaeya and this girl next to you is Venti." Venti puffed his cheeks and glared at him angrily.
"Ah- please don’t make fun of him because of what I said," nervousness could be heard in your voice, "anyway, I’m (Y/N).“
"It’s a pleasure to meet you!" Venti smiled at you cheekily. You could feel your cheeks burning again. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad here after all. Maybe you will finally enjoy yourself this year. And maybe, but you didn’t even think about that at this moment, this was some start of a new slowly blossoming romance.
