Christmas Eve was always the busiest night for host clubs, it was a place for solace for those who were lonely, especially when a bunch of couples were walking all lovey-dovey on the streets.
Not that Hifumi minded, it wasn't like he could spend that night with the person he wanted to. He knows very well how sad it can be to spend Christmas Eve alone, waiting for that special someone to get out of work and come back home… Hifumi doesn't want his beloved kittens to feel the way he has.
However, he never expected Fragrance to be short-staffed though. Sure, a lot of his fellows hosts always take the night off so they can spend it with their special someone, but they have always managed somehow… It can really damage the host club image if they're short-staffed on the busiest night of the year…
Hifumi does his best to find people who can work for his club just for tomorrow, but he doesn't have a bunch of friends. He can only count on Doppo and Jakurai for this, since the rest of his friends and acquaintances are part of Fragrance…
Unfortunately, Jakurai has a night shift for tomorrow, but he'll ask a friend of his, so that's a good thing. Hifumi doesn't mind how much he'll ask for the job, as long as everything goes smoothly tomorrow. If his dear customers can have a nice evening and forget their loneliness, it will have been more than worth it.
That only leaves asking Doppo…
His boyfriend as a host, huh?
He shouldn't even consider Doppo as an option, but he already looks so attractive in his business suit, especially when he takes off his jacket and rolls up his sleeves. Or when he adjusts his tie to unbutton the buttons near his neck! Hifumi can't help but be all giddy with excitement when he imagines how good his boyfriend would look dressed up as a host.
Still, as hard as it is, he does his best to shoo those thoughts away. Doppo has always worked till late on Christmas Eve and even if he came back from work early, it would be too much to ask to work as a host after that…
His hard working boyfriend…
The best that he can do for him right now is to make dinner for him. It may not be much, but Doppo always looks so happy and peaceful when he's eating. He always closes his eyes and takes extra time to savor and fully enjoy his meals, Doppo really looks adorable like that. No matter how fleeting it is, Hifumi feels more happy and relieved to see his boyfriend at peace.
Maybe he should make omurice today, that would definitely cheer Doppo up!
Hopefully Sensei's friend will be available for tomorrow…
As happy as Doppo feels for having the afternoon and tomorrow free, he still feels bad for his co-worker. He really hopes that everything will go well at tomorrow's meeting.
Christmas and Christmas Eve are just another day for him, he doesn't want to be more manipulated by the capitalism ploy. He doesn't get why people get all excited over it, it's not like it's a national holiday anyway; if this was a normal day, he'll have to keep on working till late. Although, he has to admit that it must be nice to receive a Christmas present.
Well, technically leaving on time today has been his boss' Christmas present, but that's not what he's been hoping for…
Hifumi is always doing things for him and gifting him stuff out of the blue, even when he tells him to not spend money on him, so it's not like he misses being a little spoiled.
Maybe he's feeling different because this will be their first Christmas together?
Hifumi always gets overexcited on Christmas and loves how the whole city shines even more on these days. Well, Hifumi always gets all giddy and amazed by almost everything.
Doppo may not get his excitement, but it warms his heart to see him all bouncy and amazed. Even though most of the time he can't keep up with his energy.
Maybe he should try to search for something for Hifumi. It's still early and maybe he can get more into the Christmas spirit while doing it…
"I'm home."
"Huh? Doppochin? Welcome home!" Hifumi turns off the stove and runs as fast as he can to the entrance to greet his boyfriend. "You worked hard today!~ Geez, you should have told me that you were coming home early! I would have make all your favorite dishes~"
"Sorry… I kinda forgot." Doppo says, melting into their hug. Hifumi is warm, it feels so good to be hugging him.
"So, what's the occasion?~"
"My boss made me go home early… He also made me take my paid leave tomorrow." Doppo explains simply, but Hifumi perks up immediately at his words.
Doppo is free tomorrow?
No way…
Maybe the planets and stars aligned in order to make Hifumi's fantasies come true. Sure, he would also like to spend Christmas Eve with Doppo, finally as lovers, but seeing his boyfriend as a host is a big win too.
He first has to ask him though…
Placing his hands on Doppo's shoulders and separating himself a little from him. Hifumi does his best to sound as serious as he can.
"Doppo… I need your help."
"W-What is it?" Doppo asks, a little confused. However, almost immediately his expression becomes concerned. "Waitー are you in trouble? Is someone stalking you again? Did they hurt you? " Hifumi usually didn't ask for help and since Christmas Eve was coming soon, maybe one of his customers was being delusional?
Doppo is looking very concerned right now, probably imagining a bunch of horrible scenarios.
Maybe he had been too serious.
"Don't make that face, Doppochin~ Is nothing bad!" Hifumi says quickly, giving him a kiss and a reassuring hug. He has to admit that it makes him all giddy inside when Doppo gets like this, it makes him feel loved. "But first take a shower and let's eat! You must be super tired~"
"I'm almost done, so just go and take a shower in the meantime," Hifumi says, pushing Doppo to their bathroom. "I'm making omurice, so don't take too long~"
Doppo's eyes glimmer at that. Yup, making omurice was a good decision.
Dinner had been really nice, Hifumi's omurice is always first-class, his omelette is so soft and fluffy. Also, he never decorates it the same way, so it's always exciting to see what he'll draw with ketchup.
To think that he's able to eat his cooking everyday… Doppo feels very lucky. Hifumi even asked him if he would like seconds, to which Doppo agreed.
It really feels good to come home early and to be pampered by his boyfriend. It's been a while since they've had dinner together, so things like just talking about their day is something that Doppo really treasures.
“So, what was it that you want me to help you with?” Doppo asks after a while.
"Oh, right! The gods must be at my side today!~" Hifumi beams, looking a little euphoric. "Can you work as a host tomorrow at my Club, Doppochin?"
“Hell no!” Doppo shouts immediately, way too appalled. He's glad that he wasn't drinking tea or he would have spat it.
What is his boyfriend thinking?
Him? As a host?
"Eeh?! Why not?!~" Hifumi whines, pouting a little. "You don't have to answer so suddenly. At least give it a thought!~"
Seriously, what is Hifumi thinking? His club may be short-staffed for tomorrow but this is a terrible idea. He could never work as a host. He's too awkward, isn't good with conversations, isn't conventionally attractive, hell, he isn't attractive at all. Probably he'll mess up big time and Fragrance will lose reputation, Hifumi may even get fired for bringing him to work with hー
"Woah~ Earth to Doppo?~" Hifumi waves his hand in front of his face, bringing him back from his thoughts. "Hey, no need to overthink it that much~ You'll do fine, you work at sales!"
"That's a different thing, Hifumi!"
"But you still have what it takes!" Hifumi rebutts him quickly. "Besides, you spend almost all of your days in your office or in our home. It would be a nice change of pace, Doppo!~"
"Working in my free day doesn't sound like a change of pace…"
Hifumi starts to ramble about how his club is in trouble, just as Doppo suspected. He gets why Hifumi is asking for his help, but there's no way that he can help him… Or that's what he thought, but seeing Hifumi sad is doing things to his heart. He had been so excited moments ago…
Besides, if Hifumi is going to work tomorrow, there's no point in staying home…
"… Fine, I'll do it," Doppo finally says, interrupting his boyfriend. "I'll help you."
"What? For reals?" Hifumi exclaims, looking surprised. Doppo nods and Hifumi stands up and runs to hug him tightly. "You're the best, Doppochin!~"
"But I may end up being a terrible host, so don't get mad if things go bad." Doppo warns him. He isn't totally convinced about this, there's a big chance that everything will go terrible.
"Dummy!~ Don't think about that stuff without even trying. It's gonna be fine!" Hifumi says happily, booping his nose. "Still, this is really the best! I'm gonna get to see you working as a host!"
"I keep telling you that this is a bad idea. I'm not cut for the job." Hifumi's club may be in trouble, but Doppo will probably do more harm than good. His boss always tells him that he should do something about his sullen face. He isn't the best at his department, how is he supposed tー
"Nonsense, Doppochin! You're totes charming!" Hifumi beams, cutting his train of thought. "A bunch of people will finally know how awesome you are!"
Hifumi looks way too happy talking about that. Doppo doesn't have the heart to rebut him when he's like that.
They won't spend the night as he would have liked it, but they'll spend it together, so maybe it won't be that bad.
It's kinda weird and endearing to see Hifumi working. Weird mostly because there's no way that Doppo could talk the way he does to his customers. Ichiro looks like he's gonna pass out from second hand embarrassment at any second, he must be thinking the same as Doppo.
Ichiro… To think that he's working alongside the leader of Buster Bros!!!, this night really can't be more weird… Doppo has to admit that he's kinda jealous of the fact that Ichiro is wearing a tie, he feels way too exposed without one.
Hifumi must really be enjoying this and Doppo wouldn't have minded to indulge him a little, but it's not like they're gonna spend the night together…
However, it's really endearing to see Hifumi mention Orihime and Hikoboshi, Doppo can't help but smile at that.
Hifumi has always been a romantic and he has loved the legend behind Tanabata since they were little. He always cried when it rained on that day, way too sad that the lovers couldn't reunite. Doppo didn't care that much about Orihime and Hikoboshi, but he didn't like to see Hifumi cry, so he always made a teru teru bouzu, hoping for a sunny day.
Even with his jacket on, he can catch glimpses of the Hifumi he has known all his life. Glimpses of his childlike innocence.
Feeling like falling in love all over again, Doppo feels more ready to work as a host. His boyfriend had said that he's charming in his own way and that he should just be himself. Doppo isn't fully convinced about that, but the only thing he can do it's to do his best.
Turns out that the night just kept getting weirder. Doppo never expected to be so popular as a host. He may be MC DOPPO, but doesn't change the fact that he's really socially awkward.
There are a bunch of rules in the host club, so Doppo does his best to remember them and follow them. However, that makes him act way too stiff. Besides, he doesn't talk smoothly at all and stutters a lot. He doesn't have a lot to say about himself and mostly ends up talking about his plants and giving some gardening tips, but his customers seem to love him nevertheless.
It must be because it's Christmas Eve and people tend to get more lonely and sentimental… Or maybe because he's a good listener and tries his best to comfort them and give them a sound advice. A lot of customers seem to be struggling a lot, despite the fact that they must be very loaded for coming here.
He must admit that he feels really useful when his customers leave with a genuine smile on their faces. It's kinda nice to know that he could brighten up someone's night and that some plants will stop being over watered, some people really should do their research before buying a plant.
However, the gifts are really really overwhelming. Doppo briefly wondered if this is some sort of twisted karma for wanting a Christmas' gift. Despite his best attempts to turn them down, as politely as he could. Telling his customers that they should, and deserve, to spend their money on themselves instead of him and that their intentions and good wishes are enough, Doppo ends up with a bunch of gifts.
He doesn't even know how he's gonna take all of them home…
Still, it's nice to feel appreciated. Some of his customers even tell him that they're gonna miss having him as a host and that's really too much, he isn't used to this kind of attention; especially coming from anyone that isn't Hifumi. Doppo feels really sorry, but being a host is way too tiring for him. If his boyfriend needs his help with this again, he'll need at least a week to mentally prepare himself.
When his shift has finally ended, Doppo just wants to lay down on his bed. It's still early, but the night has been full of surprises and he's completely drained.
This suit, Ichiro's brother, remembering the rule, doing his best to be charming all the time, all of those gifts, that jealous ex that pushed Hifumi and him…
If they weren't in Hifumi's club he would have gotten more rowdy. The last thing he wants to do is to get his boyfriend in trouble.
However Ichiro had been ready to throw hands with the guy, and he has to admit that he was secretly rooting for him… He's aware that violence doesn't solve anything, but the guy had been a jerk. No wonder why his girlfriend left him.
Fortunately nothing bad happened and they didn't come to blows. Maybe it's because of his line of work, but Hifumi always stays calm when things get violent. Doppo would like to say the same for him, but his judgment gets clouded if Hifumi is involved…

That's enough. That's enough. The night has been really tiring and thinking about old stuff will only drain him more.
As weird as it feels to wear something like this, Doppo doesn't change his clothes. Hifumi had let him and Ichiro keep the suits, so there's no point in wasting energy in changing.
He just wants to go straight home and collapse on his bed, but Hifumi tells him to meet him on the rooftop. They've barely spent time together today, they couldn't even have dinner together since Hifumi had to leave first, so Doppo gathers all the energy he has left and goes.
This is Hifumi's special place?
Despite his jacket and all, his boyfriend must get really tired from his work. He might handle it much better than him, but Hifumi also doesn't like to be in the spotlight. This place is really secluded and quiet, despite being in the middle of the city. Who would have thought that a place perfect for stargazing could be in the middle of Shinjuku?
Doppo looks up too and a thousand stars flood his vision, shining brightly despite the city lights. Luckily, there are barely any clouds despite being winter, so the view it's even more beautiful.
It's pretty, but if Doppo stares at the night sky for too long, he may get depressed about how small and insignificant his existence is compared to the vastness of the universe. Or by how many of the stars he's seeing may be dead by now.
Hifumi on the other hand, feels at peace with the sight, leaning his arms on the veranda. Doppo prefers to direct his gaze at him instead of the sky.
"If the space is so big, there must be a place where war doesn't exist, right Doppochin?"
Even now he looks so hopeful and peaceful looking at the sky. Doppo feels more refreshed just by looking at him.
Hifumi is really endearing .
It's really a shame that not many stars can be seen from their balcony. Doppo would like to see that expression on Hifumi's face.
Also Hifumi's expression from earlier had been so cute. His boyfriend always gets bashful when he's being complimented, especially if the compliment has nothing to do with his looks, so he always finds a way to change the conversation around. It's really a shame that he doesn't accept them…
Hifumi is really an amazing person, Doppo really admires his optimism and strength, especially after tonight. He was aware that being a host wasn't easy, especially given Hifumi's phobia, but now that he experienced first-hand what it's like to be a host, he really admires Hifumi even more.
It's really sad that Hifumi doesn't see himself as someone admirable and strong.
At least Fragrance's staff really loves him and appreciates him, and Ichiro also complimented him. That makes his heart feel a little lighter.
Still, once they're in the privacy of their home, Doppo will make sure to shower him with love and affection.
"How did Ichiro end up working with us too?" Doppo asks, as they're walking home.
"I actually asked Sensei first, but he had a night shift today. But he said that he'll contact his friend that does odd jobs to see if he could help!" Hifumi starts to explain excitedly. "So I figured out that Ichiro must be the one that helped us the other time!"
The other time?
Ah, his stalker…
"I've been wanting to repay him for a while, but he ended up working for me," Hifumi says, sounding a little sad. "I hope the suit is of his liking at least… The same goes for you, Doppochin~ What do you think?"
"It's… really different from what I would wear," Doppo says slowly, making Hifumi pout. "… But I don't dislike it."
"You both looked so cool!~" Hifumi says cheerfully. "I really hope that Ichiro considers working in Fragrance~"
"I get that you're grateful for him, but you shouldn't pester him."
"Meanie, I'm not pestering him~ He's taking care of his two brothers all alone, y'know? It must be really hard," Hifumi points out. "So, if he ever wants a more stable job, Fragrance will happily accept him~."
So that's why Hifumi had been insisting all night.
His boyfriend is really something.
"I think that his brothers help him with his odd jobs," Doppo points out. Considering what happened tonight, it's very likely. "Maybe he's happy the way things are, because he can spend more time with them. They seem really close."
"Ahー didn't think of that." Hifumi exclaims, looking really deflated.
"It's still early and it isn't so cold… " Doppo says, taking his hand in his. "Wanna take a stroll around?"
He's still tired, but maybe a little stroll around the city and see the Christmas' lights can cheer Hifumi up. Besides, it would be really a shame if they don't do anything special tonight.
"You sure?" Hifumi's eyes glimmer despite his concerned tone. "You have to work tomorrow…"
"It's fine," Doppo replies, squeezing his hand reassuringly. "… It's our first Christmas eve together after all."
"Lead the way, Doppochin!~" Hifumi beams overjoyed, clinging to his arm lovingly.
Turns out that not thinking about how all the Christmas' illuminations are a waste of energy is pretty easy when Hifumi hasn't let go of his arm. Doppo has to admit that the city looks more bright and enjoyable now that he is with his boyfriend, so he allows himself to be marveled at the sight. The baby blue and orange lights really give the city a more romantic atmosphere, and since it's Christmas Eve, Doppo doesn't mind Hifumi kissing him from time to time; even sometimes he's the one to initiate their kisses.
Once they take some photos together, they start to make their way home.
"Working as a host is truly eventful, huh?" Doppo asks after a while.
"Not all nights are like this one," Hifumi says, giggling a little. "But yeah, every night is a new surprise, so it's really fun~"
"… Do jealous exes always make a scene?"
"Huh? No, today was a rare occasion," Hifumi turns his head to see Doppo's expression. He looks kinda distressed, so Hifumi pinches his cheek. "Don't make that face, Doppochin~ I'm glad that nothing bad really happened and that they managed to talk things through!"
"What do you mean?" Doppo doesn't know anything about her, but from what he saw tonight, he thinks that she had been right on cutting him off like that.
"She had been acting kinda strange lately, like coming more frequently and drinking more than usual," Hifumi starts to explain. "But she always had a far-off look on her face, like deep down she wasn't enjoying herself."
"I'm sure that she wanted a more clear closure to their relationship, but was afraid of getting hurt…"
…
A clear closure, but afraid of being hurt?
"I know that you're strong and that you can take care of yourself, but you can still count on me," Doppo says, giving Hifumi's hand a reassuring squeeze. "And not just me. I'm sure that Sensei is also more than willing to help you."
Hifumi stops walking and stares at Doppo for a while. His boyfriend looks directly in his eyes, determination on his face.
They've known each other for so long, of course Doppo would catch something like that…
"Thank you," Hifumi says softly, fondness seeping through his voice. "I actually don't really know how I'm gonna do it… But I feel more confident with you on my side."
"You don't need to rush it," Doppo takes Hifumi's hand. "Take all the time that you need."
"I know." Hifumi murmurs, leaning his head on Doppo's shoulder.
Doppo let's go of his hand in order to hug him. Hifumi doesn't return it, but he relaxes at the gesture.
They stay like that for a while, Doppo is really glad of the fact that it isn't that cold. When he's about to ask Hifumi if he is okay, Hifumi gives Doppo's cheek a little peck, making him giggle.
"Do you better?"
"Yup!" Hifumi says with a small smile and takes Doppo's hand. "Let's keep going before it gets too late."
Fortunately they aren't that far away from home. Doppo can feel his tiredness coming back, but he doesn't regret taking a walk with his boyfriend.
"You still like stargazing, huh?" Doppo asks after a while.
"And you still get depressed by it~" Hifumi points out teasingly, using his free hand to poke his cheek. "I took you to my special place and you barely looked at the sky! So meanie~ The sky was extra pretty today!"
Doppo is at least glad that his boyfriend didn't bring up the fact that he spent most of the time staring at him.
"I can't help it… Don't you get sad by thinking about how small our existence is?"
"Nope!~ The universe is so big, but I managed to be in the same sky as you!~" Hifumi replies cheerfully, without missing a beat. "How am I supposed to get sad about that?"
Doppo knows that his boyfriend is being completely sincere, he always wears his heart on his sleeve after all. But as endearing as it is, it's also kinda embarrassing to hear that.
"T-That's one way to put it…"
"I'm glad that you didn't end up being an alien or something else~" Hifumi points out playfully. "You would still look super handsome with green skin though! I would cross the galaxy to be with you~"
"Please don't imagine me with green skin," Doppo deadpans, looking away. A part of him is embarrassed of his boyfriend's words, and the other part doesn't want to imagine a life where he didn't grow up with Hifumi. "Then, what about the fact that many of the stars may be dead?"
"Isn't that awesome? We can appreciate their light even when they're not there anymore!" Hifumi beams. "You should witness the stars hard work more, Doppo~"
Hifumi pokes his cheek again, making Doppo grumble. He can't help but chuckle at his response, his boyfriend is cute even when he's grumpy.
"It's kinda like a reminder, about how you can still feel things even when it's source it's not there," Hifumi says more seriously this time, giving his hand a light squeeze. "But thinking about it the other way is nice sometimes too."
To feel things even when the source is not there…
Hifumi's eyes look a little melancholic, but his smile is steady.
He may have spent almost all of his life with Hifumi beside him, but Doppo still discovers new things about him.
"You really are amazing, Hifumi." Doppo says fondly, pulling Hifumi closer to him.
"You are amazing too, Doppochin~"
"It's really a shame that I didn't have enough time to style your hair though!" Hifumi whines as he takes off his coat. "I had so many ideas for you and Ichiro too~"
Hifumi may be just commenting about it, without much thought, but Doppo can't help but notice all the love and thought that he puts on his work; and everything that he does. Hifumi always gives his all to give only the best of the best.
"We don't have to shower right now…" Doppo starts tentatively, studying his boyfriend's reactions. "It may not be what you wanted, but you can play with my hair if you want to…"
Hifumi lights up like a Christmas tree.
"Really?! You're the best Doppochin!~" Hifumi beams overjoyed, giving him a bone crushing hug. "Ahーbut first…"
Hifumi breaks their hug and unbuttons some buttons of Doppo's shirt nonchalantly. Doppo stares at his boyfriend's hands dumbfounded, before laughing a little.
"Hey, what was that?" He asks playfully, grabbing Hifumi by his waist. "I thought you wanted to see me with these clothes?"
"I do! I do! But there's no need to be so formal since we're home, don't you think?~"
Hifumi takes Doppo to his room and starts to fumble around in his drawers, picking up a comb and other stuff that Doppo doesn't recognize. Hifumi tells him to sit on his bed while he gets everything that he needs and Doppo complies.
As much as he wants to indulge his boyfriend, Doppo can't help but think how late it is. Yesterday and today had been really good, but tomorrow he has to go back to work…
Still, he doesn't regret his decision, this is their first Christmas Eve together and Doppo wants to make the most of it.
"Sorry-sorry for the wait~" Hifumi says, bringing him back from his thoughts.
Doppo just hums and closes his eyes, immediately relaxing at his boyfriend's touch. Hifumi is really good with his hands and Doppo can feel all his troubles going away as his hands work on his hair.
Red, copper and cyan locks. It may not be as soft as his, but Doppo hair is so pretty, a little wavy and a little unruly, Hifumi loves it. However, Hifumi also loves Doppo's face, so he tucks part of his bangs behind his ear and stylizes the rest.
Doppo with his hair pulled back is a good option too, but Hifumi's heart isn't that strong to see him like that and with this suit on. Besides, this way Doppo would be comfortable too.
And wow , Doppo looks really good like this. His face isn't as round as it was when they were teenagers, he looks more mature and handsome now; even if he looks a little tired. Hifumi's heart still beats faster at the sight, just like when he was younger.
The fact that Doppo has lived this long really warms his heart and the fact that they have never separated from each other is enough to make his heart burst. He's so glad that he's been able to get older together with Doppo.
He might spend an eternity with him, but he doesn't think that the butterflies in his stomach will ever stop.
"Is something wrong?" Doppo asks after a while. Hifumi has been staring at him for a long while after all.
"Nothing, handsome~" Hifumi says playfully as he sits on his lap, circling his arms around his neck.
Doppo can't help but chuckle at that.
"C’mere, gorgeous." Doppo brings him closer, kissing his cheek lovingly.
Hifumi giggles brightly at that, his eyes crinkling at the corners lovingly. Being held by Doppo is one of the best sensations in the whole world. He loves feeling Doppo's arms on him, reminding him that this is real, that his feelings aren't one-sided.
Besides, despite their appearance, Doppo's arms are really strong and warm, they're always warm. Hifumi always feels so happy and recharged when Doppo is holding him.
He doesn't want to share this with anyone else.
"I'm not kidding though. You look even more stunning like this." Hifumi gives Doppo's cheek a quick peck. "Also the waistcoat looks so good on you!~ My Doppochin is gonna steal my place as Shinjuku number one host~"
It's kinda cute how now they're matching with their shirts and waistcoats, but Doppo thinks that waistcoats look better on Hifumi. His boyfriend really has a beautiful figure, slender yet toned, and the waistcoat emphasizes his small waist in an elegant way.
"There's no way that I could beat all your years of hard work. You're really amazing," Doppo says, caressing Hifumi's face. He leans into his touch immediately, smiling softly. "Besides… I'll be a terrible host. I would want to steal Shinjuku number one host away instead of focusing on my customers."
Hifumi's eyes open wide at that. He wants to continue with this playful atmosphere, so he does his best not to smile.
"I'm flattered by your words, but you'll have it incredibly tough, mister," Hifumi replies teasingly, running his fingertips across his chest slowly while smiling coyly. "He's totes in love with the most amazing salaryman and wants to spend the rest of his life with him~"
Hifumi beams and boops his nose, making Doppo giggle. Hifumi is adorable even in these situations. His sincerity really touches his heart
Usually, he would get embarrassed by hearing stuff like that, but maybe the alcohol and the Christmas Eve's atmosphere is getting to him.
It's still his free day after all, he should make the most of it.
"Is that so?" Doppo asks, getting closer and rubbing their noses together.
Hifumi giggles before returning the gesture. Doppo gives him a quick peck and then Hifumi follows him. Soon their kisses start to get longer and more passionate. Hifumi circles his arms around his boyfriend's neck, bringing them as close as they could while Doppo caresses his back.
After a while Hifumi pats his back, asking for air to which Doppo complies. He misses his boyfriend's lips on his, but seeing Hifumi all flustered is worth it.
"But really… I'm sure you can take over your company dressed like this."
"There's no way that I'm going to work dressed like this," Doppo replies seriously. It had been extremely embarrassing to be dressed like this at his boyfriend's club. Even if it's just a suit, it feels way too different from his work clothes, especially with his chest exposed. "Today was an exception, but I only want my future husband to see me like this."
Hifumi looks up, with a surprised smile on his face and eyes glimmering with excitement. If only Doppo knew the things he does to his heart.
"You must be totes in love with that guy~" Hifumi boops his nose, trying his best to sound teasingly. However, the grin on his face gives it away.
"Yeah, I am," Doppo replies without missing a beat to his boyfriend's surprise. He locks eyes with his Hifumi, his smile is no longer playful, but earnest and full of fondness. Hifumi feels his heart beat faster at that. "I'm really lucky to be with him. He is the most amazing person in this world to me."
Doppo takes his hand slowly and kisses it, looking at him a little shyly. His hands are slightly trembling and he feels a little embarrassed if he's being honest, but this might be the best way to convey his feelings.
Hifumi just blushes profusely at his actions, way too taken aback to say anything.
"He's also the strongest person I've ever met," A kiss on his neck and a shy, yet tender gaze. "Despite everything he's been through, he remains kind and cheerful."
"And he's also the most caring person I've ever known, always knowing how to brighten someone's day up, " Doppo nuzzles the crook of his neck. "Although he can be way too selfless, so I worry about him."
"Doppo…" Hifumi whimpers, flustered. His face is bright red, even the tips of his ears are red now, and his eyebrows are slightly furrowed.
A warning. However Doppo decides to take a turn instead of stopping.
"His smiling face is so pretty, just to see him happy makes my day," He cups his boyfriend's face and runs his thumbs across his lip, Hifumi feels like he's burning at this point. "But his embarrassed face is also cute."
"That's enough, Doppochin," Hifumi complains, hiding his face on the crook of Doppo's neck, holding him tightly. "I never thought that you could be such a tease."
"I'm not teasing," Doppo says, stroking his hair. "I just want my Hifumi to know that I love him."
It was a good thing that Hifumi has his face hidden on his neck, otherwise he would have been too embarrassed to say that. Hifumi deserves to feel loved and cherished, but sometimes it feels like saying "I love you" doesn't convey all the love he feels for him.
"Wanna lie down?" Doppo says after a while. This position is nice, but his legs are starting to feel a little numb.
Hifumi just hums, but doesn't stop hugging him, so it takes them a while to fully lay down. Not that Doppo minds, it's really endearing to see his boyfriend like this.
Once they're in a comfortable position Doppo starts to stroke his back. His caresses have turned more sure and less hesitant over the time, but they're still soft and almost reverent. His right hand runs tenderly across his back while his left hand strokes his hair, not wanting to possess, but to cherish.
It's kinda funny how he almost doesn't remember the last time he felt grossed or scared of being touched. With Doppo everything feels so good and so right.
He feels at peace. He feels so loved.
Still, Doppo being the absolute sweetheart he is, always makes sure that he's the one lying on top of him, so he doesn't feel overwhelmed or suffocated. This way he can stop things easier and separate themselves if he no longer feels like it.
"My future hubby is also really amazing." Hifumi murmurs as his fingers caress his chest, slowly but determined.
"Oh yeah?" Doppo replies teasingly, but still looking at him tenderly.
"Yup! Life has been really hard for him, but he always keeps on trying," A sweet kiss on his cheek. "I'm really happy that he has managed to live for so long despite anything."
Doppo thinks that he hadn't given up yet because Hifumi has always been by his side.
"Also he's super adorable," Hifumi continues, nuzzling his neck. "He always has this cute little smile when he's drawing… It's a shame that he's almost always busy, so he can't do it frequently."
His eyes open wide at that. It's kinda amazing how Hifumi remembers that kind of stuff, because it's really been a while since he has drawn.
"And he always makes sure to eat as slowly as he can when I make omurice. It makes me so happy to see that he enjoys my cooking even after all these years~"
"Y-You noticed that?"
"Of course~" Hifumi replies cheerfully, giggling lightly. "He's also really kind and gentle. You should see how dedicated is to his plants… Also, he never gave up on me and helped me to get back on my feet. I don't think I could ever thank him enough."
Doppo is about to say that he shouldn't worry about that stuff, but Hifumi beats him to it.
"Although he can get very protective over me~"
"… D-Does it bug you?" Hifumi's tone was playful, but he wants to make sure that it isn't something that actually bothers him.
"No, not at all," Hifumi says softly, leaning his face on his chest. "I-It's actually kinda hot."
"Huh?"
"M-My Doppochin looks super handsome and hot when he gets like that." Hifumi says quickly, completely flustered. Hiding his face on his chest.
Doppo has to admit that he’s totally taken aback by his boyfriend’s words, and the fact that Hifumi is nuzzling his chest while hugging him tightly doesn’t help him. His heart is going to burst at any moment. Not that Hifumi is any better, since they’re so close, Doppo can feel how fast his heart is beating too.
Still, he would like to see what kind of face his boyfriend is making, Hifumi looks really adorable when he’s blushing and feeling Hifumi’s eyelashes fluttering from time to time on his chest is doing nothing to satiate his curiosity. However, Hifumi really sounded embarrassed, so Doppo settles for stroking his hair and to just bask in this moment. Hifumi will show his face again when he's ready, he doesn't want to push him.
To his surprise, Hifumi grinds their bodies together. Seems like he won’t have to wait for too long.
"… Do you want to do it, Doppochin?" Hifumi asks shyly, cupping his face slowly. "I can ride you if you're too tired."
That definitely won’t do.
“And miss a chance to kiss you all over?” Doppo says with a low voice, caressing Hifumi’s face. “C’mere, gorgeous.”
They'll have to take a shower after this and he still hasn't given Hifumi his present. Tomorrow he'll definitely wake up tired, but Doppo wouldn't change these moments with his boyfriend for anything. Spending time with Hifumi is more precious than anything.
