A beat passes between them as Damien stares at Oz in awe, not quite registering what the fuck he just said at first.
“Did you just say, a Fear Cave?! Like, where all your fears actually become real, and you can fight them?!”
Oz nods in affirmation. He knew he had the demon hook, line, and sinker, and right on schedule, Damien’s grin stretches even wider in excitement.
“THEN LET’S GO! RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!”

And Shadow fell, again.
Visions of the past mixed and merged with the present until Sonic had no idea what was real and what wasn't. Sonic was in space. Sonic was in the Shatterverse. Sonic had just saved the Earth. Sonic had just destroyed his entire reality. The Earth was below him. The Void was below him. Sonic had no idea which was true, no idea where he was or who he was or what was happening... But Shadow was plummeting through the air to his doom. That was real. That was so inevitably real.
He couldn't die. Not again.

Summary
A sweet and steamy story that basically follows the events of Secret of Shadow Ranch, but Nancy is single and her feelings for Dave can be acted on. The only cannon divergence is the romance that blossoms between Dave and Nancy as she explores the mystery of Shadow Ranch and the hot cowboy that has her twisted up from the start. I've written additional non-canonical scenes of Nancy and Dave getting to know each other and some hot and heavy encounters between the two. Romance, mystery, and falling in love, cowboy style. Yee-haw.
