Chapter Text
“So, will you do it?”- Kokomi asked with her big blue eyes, she looked desperate as she leaned towards the psychic.
Hell no.-Saiki thought.
“Why don´t you ask any other guy? They’ll surely be happy to do it.” It was true, if she asked any guy, ANY of them, they’d say yes. He also knew she had a thing for him (only because he didn’t react to her at all), but doing this kind of stuff was out of his comfort zone.
“Because I trust you”- she said looking into his eyes. That and because it’s embarrassing my parents keep trying to find me a boyfriend so I can be “protected” by someone. I don’t need to be protected, my fans are not crazy (mostly) and I’m used to them, unfortunately, my parents don’t think the same as me.
Saiki heard all her inner monologue and doubted. It was a valid reason, he considered her a friend and wanted to help her out if he could, but he also wasn’t sure he could pull off the whole “boyfriend” thing. He’s not as expressive as other people and he’s obviously not very comfortable with PDA. He thought about telling her to ask their friends for help but he knew they’d probably be too nervous and screw the whole thing up.
“Also, if you decide to do it, I’ll gladly buy you coffe jelly, and maybe other treats beside that…”-Kokomi said in a low voice, but also making sure Saiki heard her.
“…what do I have to do?”- he was sure he was going to regret this.
“Oh, you’d just have to come have dinner once so I can introduce them to you, they just want to know I have good company by my side.”- she was shocked he agreed to doing it.
OH GOD, THIS IS HAPPENING, I CAN’T BELIEVE IT, SAIKI IS GOING TO DO IT. CALM DOWN! Conceal, don’t feel. Don’t let him know or he’ll back out.
Saiki also heard all of this and felt a little embarrassed but not that much at the same time, he was used to her.
He decided he was going to do it but under his conditions, he’d set limits so this whole thing wouldn’t blow up.
“I have my own rules. Number one: I’m not comfortable with PDA so you’ll have to restrain of doing any of those mushy things, I don’t like it. Number two: I’ll go, have dinner and that’s it. No more things beside that. Number three: You’ll tell them to find you a bodyguard or something like that because they do have a point in wanting to protect you from your, eh, fans. All clear?”
“Yes! Ah, just one thing. I know you don’t like PDA (it wasn’t hard to figure out) but, they will be suspicious if we don’t act as a couple, they’ll think you’re just a friend I brought home and dismiss all our act!”- Teruhashi said all of this very fast, but with a serious look on her face.
Oh god, if we hold hands or kiss, I will pass out, but my parents are intelligent, we have to do something or they’ll know something is up!
He supposed that was true, she had a good point and he didn’t like that.
“I’ll figure something out, don’t worry about it.”-he said convinced. He supposed holding hands would be ok, as long as he initiated, that is.
“…okay.”-Kokomi trusted Saiki, so she just went along with it.
“I’ll text you my address along with the date and time, you don’t have to bring anything home, just yourself”-she added.
Saiki just nodded and was about to go to his classroom. Suddenly, Kokomi took his hand on hers.
“Thank you. This really means a lot to me”-she smiled and blushed fiercely.
Saiki nodded once and went away. Teruhashi was a sweet girl, he didn’t like lying to her parents, but forcing her own daughter to date someone was wrong, besides, she’ll talk to them about having a bodyguard to accompany her or at least watch out for her, so she’d be more secure.
Everything was going to be fine, right?
The only thing that worried him was that he didn’t have a girlfriend before, so he didn’t really have experience with this stuff. He read a pair of romantic novels before, just to try if he liked the genre: He didn’t like it. The reason was because he had never felt he wanted a relationship, his life was full of complicated things and bringing a partner into the equation would just make everything more complicated. He would have to ask for advice, if he was going to do this, he’ll do it right.
Even though Saiki gave himself a motivational speech, in his way home he couldn’t help but think:
What did I get myself into?
