Perhaps Not A New Me, But Perhaps A Better Me

Summary:

So now All for One was standing with three files in front of him, three grandchildren of the pathetic Shimura that are now candidates for becoming the new him:

1. Hana Shimura, too old to be manipulated and molded
2. Tenko Shimura, a great candidate if it wasn't for his mental instability caused due to his father being abusive (likely Quirkless which is a plus)
3. Izuku Midoriya, not even a year old and likely Quirkless as well.

A decision had to be made, AfO could either take Tenko, discard of his family in the process, and deal with the tantrums of a unstable child, OR he could take Izuku and go through the effort of raising him until he could let it stay with Kurogiri.

Parenting a child for four or five years, how hard could it be?

Chapter Text

Nana Shimura had two kids, twins to be exact, when she had to go fight All for One she hat to put them in adoption so they won't be tracked by the Demon.

Unfortunately for her, that was not enough to deter the Demon Lord from finding them and their now formed families.

[...]

It turns out that parenting it's very fucking hard, not even a week in taking care of the child AfO had to sacrifice some of his pride and summon Kurogiri for assistance, he also taksed the Good Doctor to revert some of the changes done to the Nomu so he could show sympathy towards the child.

AfO could just call it quits and try again with Tenko but that would mean he accepts defeat and after a two hundred years war that is still in development Hisashi Shigaraki isn't going to bend the knee to a child that has yet to learn how to speak.

Thankfully Kurogiri's (which now wants to be called Oboro) Warp Gate seems to be a great distraction whenever the child is crying due to lack of attention.

[...]

It turns out that Izuku isn't fascinated only with Warp Gate, the boy is fascinated with all the Quirks.

After Hisashi used FQA (Forced Quirk Activation) to catch the boy from falling off the couch, instead of screaming because some very sharp objects were grabbing him out of nowhere Izuku simply watched them with awe before saying his first word, 'how'.

Hisashi didn't start showing off his Quirks to the child that was now standing in his lap, and for sure he didn't start cooing to the child until Oboro entered the room and looked at him with a rather smug face, if the Pawn would even think to share such false information he would end him.

[...]

A bit over a month from the day he took Izuku and the boy was making his first steps. It happened when Hisashi called Izuku to him so he could put his to sleep, the toddler rose on his own to feet and walked in a Frankenstein-ish manner towards him, Izuku managed to get to his leg and support his own weight by holding by Hisashi's pants.

And if that wasn't enough Izuku said 'Papa', a word that Hisashi never used around Izuku but he was occupied to grab the child and put him to sleep for him to interrogate the Warper.

[...]

Izuku has been in Hisashi's care for a bit over eight months and the child has become able to speak (and doesn't seem to stop), and he also seems to have developed well enough to walk without any problems. The problem is that Hisashi forgot to baby proof the house and now he needs to distract the child until Oboro comes with the required proofing to stop a rather smart child from getting to dangerous stuff.

Thankfully Izuku is even more interested in Quirks, and in comparison to his subordinates, Izuku actually puts interesting questions about them (and he's only one and a half years old). Izuku is too young to even comprehend most of the stuff Hisashi says but tries anyway which makes Hisashi proud.

Notes:

This idea was bugging me all day so I had to write it down to be done with it.

Don't expect this to be updated in the near future but if I get any suggestions I might add them with some credit in the end notes.
