Chapter Text
it'd been so long since he'd had a chance to really unwind. to forget about his inner conflict between being human or wolf or in-between and just.. let go.
there was only one place where he really felt like he could do that.
in the middle of the woods, tucked between trees and bushes, was a small cozy cottage, where a kind smile and warm arms always awaited him.
so one day, when his mind had decided to be particularly unkind to him, and everything felt like too much, he'd headed to the one place on earth where he could really feel welcomed.
it'd been rain, and yet only when the door opened did he realize how utterly cold and wet he felt.
"razor! oh my gosh, you're soaked! get in here!" and despite the fact he felt like nothing more than a savage, they gently shushed him and led him inside, treating him like something actually worthy of their time.
they'd been drying off his hair with a towel that felt too fluffy for his rough everything when they'd paused, slowly stopping the gentle motions. and god, razor didn't know how he felt about it but he wanted do nothing but whine at the loss of contact.
they looked down at where his wet clothes laid on the floor, then back down at him, shivering despite the fireplace and the heavy blanket around his shoulders.
"razor.. are you okay?" their eyebrows furrowed and - why are you worried about me im an animal im a mess im disgusting - a soft frown graced their lips.
"i.. do not ..belong." his voice started small, about as small as he felt, but it raised slightly as he gained confidence in his own feelings.
"what?" their eyebrows raised, seemingly taken aback.
"not with wolves. not with people. where do i.. belong?" he'd only really learned the word a few days ago, when lisa had showed him the meaning in the dictionary, but the sentiment had always been there.
his eyes fixated on his coat on the ground, although his vision was entirely unfocused. it hurt a little worse than he thought it would to admit it.
"razor." they called gently, making him hesitantly look up into their eyes.
"you belong wherever you feel happiest. and if you want to be with the wolves sometimes, and yet also want to be in mondstadt, with the people.. that only means you have two homes to go to. hey, actually make that three! im here, after all."
and if something clicked in the back of his mind, it barely made it to his head when he felt his whole being go warm. he knows now.
