Kaminari groaned as he trudged along with the rest of his class back to their dorms. “Is it just me or was that exam harder than the last one?”. Uraraka sighed.
“It’s not just you, I’m beat. I am so glad it’s winter break now!”
“Oh yeah! What are you guys doing over the break?” Kirishima asked excitedly.
“Absolutely nothing. I need to relax and not have to worry about school work for once” Kaminari said as he stretched. “I’m not doing anything over the break except taking it easy”.
“Please do not forget we have school work to do over the break and it would not be becoming of a hero to simply ignore it!” Iida said firmly, adjusting his glasses and chopping the air.
“Ugh, don’t remind us!” the class groaned in unison. They all looked defeated and exhausted from the events of the past year.
As the students entered the dorm they all went their separate ways to their rooms. Midoriya opened his door and saw the bag he had left on his bed. He finished stuffing some more of his clothes into his duffle bag. For a moment he stopped thinking to himself “Wait. Why do I need to pack clothes...don’t I have clothes at home?” . He looked into his bag and realized that most of it was his All Might merch. He awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. “Oh right. I didn’t leave any of my All Might clothing at home” . After finishing up his packing he grabbed his duffle bag and backpack and walked out the door. He stopped at the door and looked back in at the place he had lived for the past semester and nodded with a determined smile. He shut off the light and closed the door before running down towards the front door.
“Hey, Deku!” Uraraka waved him over. Kagari stood next to her smiling. “We’re all walking to the train together, right?”. Midoriya nodded with a smile as Kagari did the same. The trio began their walk towards the train station.
“What are you guys doing over the break?” Uraraka asked excitedly as they walked.
“Nothing really. My mom and I don’t really have any other family and she isn’t big on Christmas, so we usually just eat Ramen and watch some movies together.” Kagari said with her hand on the back of her neck. “Although, mom does usually get me a gift anyways.” She finishes with a laugh that sounds a little awkward.
“Aww! That’s so cute!” Uraraka exclaims. “What about you Deku?”.
“Well, my mom and I usually have dinner on Christmas Eve and give each other gifts on Christmas day, but we also don’t have any other family, so that’s about it,” Midoriya responded.
“Oh! Midoriya! Are we still on to hang out after Christmas?” Kagari asked, her purple eyes lighting up with excitement.
“Yeah! You bet!” Midoriya responded with a smile. “What about you, Uraraka? What are you doing? Do you want to hang out with us as well?”.
“Aww, I’d love to, but my parents are taking me skiing for the first time in forever!” Uraraka replied, looking a little disappointed to be missing her friends, but still very excited. Her two friends wished her luck as she parted to go to her train and they to theirs.
Midoriya and Kagari discussed what they would do while they hung out and settled on going to a cafe for some treats. Kagari said that they should do it two days after Christmas as the day after Christmas she and Hakagure were going to watch a movie together. Midoriya agreed and the two continued to talk as they got off the train. Only stopping when they got to Midoriya’s apartment. Kagari said goodbye and continued up the stairs to her apartment.
Midoriya opened the door and could smell his mom’s cooking. “Izuku? Is that you sweetie?” Inko called out from the kitchen.
“Yeah, mom!” Midoriya shouted back as he took off his shoes and came into the apartment. He dropped his backpack and duffle bag into his room before heading to the kitchen to say hi to his mom. Inko put down her ladle and hugged her son tightly. “Mom...You’re crushing me!” Midoriya struggled to say. Inko hugged slightly less tightly, but still didn’t let go.
“I missed you so much, Izuku!” Inko said with tears in her eyes. Midoriya hugged her back, also trying not to cry.
“I missed you too, mom!” He replied with tears in his eyes as well. After a few more moments Midoriya asked “What are you cooking, mom?”. She let go with a shocked breath and began to stir the pot again.
“I’m making Udon!” she said with a smile. Midoriya nods smiling as well.
“I’m going to go unpack my bag!” He said as he walked back towards his room.
“Alright, dinner will be ready soon, Izuku”. Midoriya entered the room he hadn’t been in in some time. He looked around at all his All Might merch and felt a little embarrassed that he had so much of it. He unpacked his bags, putting away his clothes and taking out his notebook. He sat down at his computer and began to search up recent villain fights that he wasn’t a part of. He spent some time jotting down notes on some of the Pro-Heroes. He thought about Kagari and how she fought. Despite having a powerful quirk of her own she didn’t rely on it as much as he relied on his. She said her mom taught her to defend herself even if she lost her quirk for some reason. Her mom is the Pro-Hero Ms. Terra. Midoriya had seen her in action before. At the USJ as well as on some online videos he had seen. Her quirk was regeneration, not strength, but she still fought against villains head first, using her wits to take down opponents rather than raw power.
Midoriya was muttering to himself as he wrote in his notebook about Ms. Terra’s fighting style when his lights flickered on and off. He turned around to see his mom in the doorway giving him a look as if she had been standing there for a while. Midoriya awkwardly smiled as he scratched the back of his neck. “Sorry, mom!”. Inko gave him another look before letting him know that dinner was ready. Midoriya put his pencil in his notebook and quickly trotted off to the bathroom to wash his hands. He sat down at the table and thanked his mother for the meal. She smiled proudly and they ate.
After dinner Midoriya headed back to his room and continued where he left off. After a few more hours he starts getting ready for bed. He brushed his teeth, changed into his All Might pajamas, and got under the covers after saying goodnight to his mother. He closed his eyes, thinking about how far he had come in such a short time and smiled, drifting off to sleep.

Chapter Text
The next morning, Midoriya woke up rubbing his eyes and stretching. After pulling off his covers he swung his legs over and stood up with a yawn and stretch. Opening his door, he was a little blinded by the morning sunlight and shook his head. “Right. Not used to sleeping in a room without a window I guess” he thought as he walked into the kitchen where his mother was already cooking.
“Well, good morning, sleepy head” Inko said with a smile as she filled two bowls with miso soup. Midoriya yawned and greeted her back as he sat down at the table, his eyes barely open. He thanked his mom when she placed the soup, steamed rice, and grilled fish in front of him before he began to eat.
After breakfast, Midoriya was a lot more awake and his mother reminded him that they would be going to pick up the christmas tree today. Midoriya nodded with a smile before heading into the bathroom to take a shower. He couldn’t help, but examine the many scars he had over his arms. The one on his upper arm was still tender.
After showering and brushing his teeth, he headed back into his room to get dressed. He tossed on some jeans and an All Might t-shirt before sitting down at his computer. He started work on the essay Ishiyama-sensei assigned over break. Midoriya had chosen to do his on the effects of the “Symbol of Peace” on Japanese society. Despite the fact that that could be considered a touchy subject for him, he felt it was important for him to look into how All Might had changed society, and what work would be required by the remaining heroes for society to continue moving forward. Endeavor’s battle with the smart nomu seemed to have helped keep society on the right track, but there was still work to do.
After a couple hours, Midoriya resolved to take a break just as his mother knocked on his door to let him know she was ready to go. After putting on his shoes and grabbing his jacket the two headed off. Down the street a couple kilometers was a shop that was selling larger Christmas trees than the ones most flower shops were. “Are you sure you don’t want to take a taxi there?” Midoriya asked, concerned for his mother.
“Yes!” Inko said, determined. “I need to start exercising more anyways. Plus, you can carry the tree can’t you? So I just need to walk.” Midoriya was still concerned, but sighed before smiling at his mother.
“Alright, mom.” The two of them continued and by the time they arrived Inko was out of breath. They decided to get some lunch before grabbing the tree. There was a noodle stand around the corner so they stopped there to eat. Inko ordered some Soba soup and Midoriya ordered some cold Soba with dipping sauce.
“Hello, Midoriya,” a monotone voice came from the otherside of his mother. He leaned forward to see a boy with white and red hair eating Soba next to them.
“Oh! Hi Todoroki! I didn’t expect to see you here.” Midoriya said with a smile. Todoroki simply nodded in his direction and continued to eat. Midoriya nodded back and went back to eating as well.
“Are you one of Izuku’s friends from school?” Inko asked with a smile. Todoroki looked at her and nodded before returning to eating. “It’s so nice to meet one of Izuku’s friends! He didn’t have very many friends growing up!” Inko said excitedly.
“Mom!” Midoriya whined. “Let him eat in peace!”. Inko apologized awkwardly.
“It’s alright, Midoriya-san.” Todoroki replied. “Midoriya is a strong student and I am glad to have him as my friend.” This time Todoroki spoke with a little more emotion which surprised Midoriya. Inko beamed and thanked Todoroki who had gone back to eating.
The Midoriya's finished eating first and said goodbye to Todoroki after paying. Todoroki bid them goodbye and the two headed back around the corner to pick up the Christmas tree.
After finding a tree that wasn’t too tall, they paid and began the walk home. Midoriya was glad that his training had made him stronger because he didn’t need his quirk to carry it all the way home. In fact, the trip inspired him to combine long distance running and strength training as a way to step up his workout.
After setting up the tree in the living room, the pair decided it was probably best to decorate it tomorrow as Inko was exhausted. Midoriya returned to his room and started working on the homework that Ectoplasm-sensei had assigned. Midoriya spent the next few hours completing homework. After he ate dinner and brushed his teeth headed off to sleep.
Over the next few days, Midoriya and Inko decorated the tree and Midoriya completed his over break work. The only thing of note that happened was him overhearing Kagari and her mother arguing in english when he went to get presents for his mother.
“Akko! Where are you going?” Terra yelled out of her apartment at her daughter.
“Ma! I’m just going to get some milk!” Kagari replied, frustrated.
“What have I told you about letting me know when you were leaving?”
“You were on the phone!”
“Just text me to let me know!”
“I did!” there was a pause before Terra shouted back, now in Japanese.
“Whoops...stay safe sweetie!” Kagari just facepalmed and closed her door. After which Midoriya was out of earshot. He didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but they were very loud. Sometimes he thought they might be louder than Kacchan and his mother.
When Christmas Eve arrived Midoriya and Inko had a nice relaxing time. They ate dinner and after which ate some of the Christmas cake Inko had bought. They watched a movie together, with their presents already under the tree. When it ended they said goodnight and went to bed.
Christmas morning arrived and Midoriya was excited. Mainly to give his mother the presents he had gotten her. He put on his All Might slippers and walked out the door where his mother was in the kitchen, yawning as she made some tea for them. After saying good morning to each other, they sat down on the couch with their tea in hand. Inko insisted that Midoriya went first, so he grabbed the three boxes his mother had put there and brought them back to where they were sitting. The first one contained a large binder designed to hold multiple notebooks.
“This way you can store all your notebooks in one place!” Inko said excitedly. Midoriya thanked her and opened the second one. It contained a pair of All Might slippers that were different than the ones he had. “This way you don’t have to wear the same pair all the time,” she said with a smile. After thanking her once more he opened the third box. In it was a digital camera. “So you can take pictures of all the adventures you go on and the friends you make along the way!” Inko spoke with a bit of sadness, but mainly excitement.
“Don’t worry, mom,” Midoriya said as he hugged his mom tightly. “I’ll be sure to show you all of them!” Inko couldn’t help but cry and Midoriya started crying too. After a long hug, Midoriya pulled away. Now it was Inko’s turn to open the presents Midoriya had gotten for her. The three presents contained a new pair of slippers, a nice box of tea, and an exercise watch. “You had said you wanted to start exercising more, so I figured this would help!” Midoriya said with a smile.
“Thank you so much, Izuku,” Inko said with a smile, but then it faded for a moment. “I just hope it wasn’t too expensive!”
“Don’t worry! I got money from my work-study and it wasn’t too expensive so you don’t need to worry about it.” Midoriya said, hugging his mom once again. After they let go, Inko went and made breakfast, while Midoriya put his notebooks in his new binder and turned on his camera. He peered around the corner with it and said “Say cheese!” Midoriya said, catching his mother off guard. She gave him a look then laughed and he just stuck his tongue out before heading back into his room.
After breakfast, Midoriya spent the rest of the day either reading or writing in his notebooks. He went on a run before dinner and got back just before Inko finished preparing it. After showering and getting ready for bed, he laid down in bed, smiling as he thought about the day he had enjoyed very much with his mother.

Chapter 3: Unwanted Attention
Summary:
Izuku and Akko recieve some unwanted attention.
Chapter Text
Midoriya opened his eyes and hopped off his bed with a yawn. Today he and Kagari would be hanging out somewhere. She had mentioned it was a little cafe where they could get snacks and drinks, as well as a place to sit down and chat. He had woken up a little bit late, but still had plenty of time to get ready.
There was a small breakfast on the table with a note from his mother. “Went to meet up with Bakugou-san. Won’t be home till later! Have fun today, sweetie! -Love, Mom” it read. Midoriya nodded and sat down to eat his breakfast. Even though he and Kacchan had an awkward relationship, their mothers seemed to be good friends. After eating and finishing his morning routine of showering, brushing his teeth, and getting dressed, he grabbed his backpack and wallet before heading out the door.
Today he wore jeans, his red shoes, a t-shirt, and jacket. He jogged up the stairs to the level of Kagari’s apartment and knocked on the door. “Just a minute!” he could hear Kagari shout from within the apartment. The door opened and Ms. Terra was standing there smiling in some casual clothes.
“Come in Midoriya-kun!” she said cheerfully. Midoriya followed her in, nodding with a gentle smile.
“Thank you, Terra-san.” Terra headed back into the kitchen where she was making a sandwich. Midoriya noted that it was difficult to get used to how young Terra looked given that she had a daughter his age. With a quirk of regeneration, however, her age would be impossible to determine. Her mannerisms however still seemed to mimic those of a younger generation when she was in a casual environment.
Midoriya caught himself mumbling and shook his head to snap himself out of it. Terra ate her sandwich at the kitchen table, seeming blissfully unaware of what Midoriya had just been mumbling. “Hey Midoriya! All set?” Kagari asked as she came out of her room with a smile. She was wearing black leggings, a knee-length black skirt, and a white hoodie. Midoriya nodded and Kagari put on her purple high-top shoes and her purple winter coat that had fur lining the edge of the hood. “See you later, mom!” Kagari shouted as they headed out the door.
“Have fun consuming nutrients!” Terra said with a giggle. Her daughter just hit her face with the palm of her hand and closed the door. Midoriya looked at her a little confused by what her mother had said.
“Don’t even ask. I will never understand her,” Kagari said, rolling her eyes, then she started laughing and the two continued down the stairs.
“So, where is it we are going, again?” Midoriya asked as they walked down the street.
“Just this little cafe I like to go to,” Kagari said as she kicked a pebble down the sidewalk a little. “They have the best pastries in the city according to me.” After a moment, Kagari spoke again, “Oh, and sorry for the argument you overheard a couple days ago,” she said, a little ashamed. Midoriya looked surprised for a moment before he spoke.
“Oh it’s no problem! I didn’t mean to eavesdrop!” he said waving his hands in front of him, panicking a little. Kagari just laughed a little.
“We were shouting at the top of our lungs. I wouldn’t count hearing it as eavesdropping.” Midoriya nodded. Still a little embarrassed, but they moved on. They discussed some of the ongoing events and things they had struggled with in school as they walked. As they passed an alleyway, Kagari stopped suddenly and quickly turned her head to look into the alley. She had a frown on her face as she scanned it.
“What’s wrong, Kagari?” Midoriya asked, looking concerned. She scanned it for a few more moments before shaking her head and continuing to walk.
“It was nothing,” she said, waiting a moment before continuing. “I just felt like I was being watched for a moment there.” She shrugged as Midoriya nodded, the look of concern still on his face until they reached the cafe.
As they entered the cafe the woman at the register smiled and waved to Kagari who waved back. They two of them got through the line and ordered. Kagari ordered a cinnamon bun and a hot chocolate. Midoriya ordered a blueberry muffin and a cinnamon coffee. After retrieving their order the two sit down in the eating area and chat. They spend the next few hours discussing what’s been going on and some joint training ideas they had for improving both of their quirks.
After a few hours had passed, Kagari noticed it was already dark out. “Oh crap! It’s already dark!”. The two of them quickly cleaned up their trash and rushed out the door, thanking the cashier as they did so.
They were laughing as they quickly walked back towards their apartment building. “Yeah we probably should have paid more atten-” Kagari was cut off as giant tentacles sprang out of the alley they were passing and grabbed them both, throwing them farther into the alley. The two young heroes spinned themselves in sync, landing on their feet and skidding to a stop. In front of them were two men. One of them had tentacles for arms, the other was wearing a grey suit and a black face mask. Midoriya activated One For All and Kagari prepared for a fight as well.
“Well, if it isn’t two of those brats from tv” the man in the suit said, through his eyes you could see that a devilish smile was covered by his mask.
“What do you want with us?” Kagari shouted at them, her fists clenched and her legs ready to start fighting. The man in the suit chuckled just as a pair of hands grabbed Midoriya and Kagari by the shoulder and threw them forward. The two of them slammed onto the ground and felt an immense pain shooting through their bodies.
“Kill them,” the man in the suit said as the tentacle man shot his tentacles out to strangle the two of them. Before he could however, Midoriya had jumped up and launched himself at the tentacle villain. None of them had even seen him begin to move. Full Cowl Detroit Smash! Went through Midoriya’s head as his fist connected with the tentacled man, sending him flying out of the alley and into a storefront across the street.
The man in the suit looked shocked, but quickly used his quirk to throw Midoriya backwards. Kagari caught him with her quirk and dropped him onto his feet as she used her quirk to slam the third villain into the wall behind them and then went after the man in the suit. She started attacking the villain, throwing trash cans and psychic punches. Midoriya sped out of the alley, noticing he was barefoot for some reason, but he continued to fight the tentacle villain who had pulled himself out of the storefront.
As the man in the suit frantically tried to push Kagari back, she gritted her teeth and used her quirk to keep herself from moving. Her face had a look of pure rage as her eyes started to glow and her hair rose off of her like a fire. She let out an angry yell as she began assaulting the man with psychic punch after psychic punch. He couldn’t keep his footing as she hit him again and again. He threw a large trash can at her and she grabbed it so hard with her quirk that it was crushed. As the man prepared to attack again he was knocked over by his comrade being kicked into him by Midoriya. Kagari jumped out of the way in a back flip as the two villains slammed into the brick wall at the end of the alley, cracking it. The two of them fell to the floor. The man in the suit attempted to stand up only to be hit with a psychic roundhouse kick to the side of the head, knocking him unconscious. The two of them stood next to each other catching their breaths.
“Midoriya are you, wait who are you?” Kagari said before clapping her hands over her mouth. Her voice was a lot deeper than it had been before. Midoriya looked at her as shocked as she looked at him.
“K-Kagari??” Midoriya asked with a little bit of panic in his now feminine sounding voice. She nodded as tears started to build up in her eyes.
“W-what happened…” Midoriya shook his head as she asked, his now long hair falling in front of his eyes. Kagari took out her phone and called the police. “Hello? We are two heroes in training with provisional licenses. Three villains just tried to attack us. Two of them are subdued,” Kagari spoke into her phone. She gave them their current location and waited for the police to arrive.
After a few minutes of the young heroes standing silently, they could hear the sirens blaring. The officers came upon the scene: two teenagers, a girl in really baggy clothing and shoes that didn’t fit, and a boy in a skirt with ripped leggings and a hoodie. The two students explained what happened and what the third villain had done to them. The officer nodded and listened. “The third villain disappeared, but he seems to have changed our sex. I think they were hoping that it would disorient us long enough for them to kill us, but we recovered faster than they expected…” Kagari explained.
Midoriya was silent, staring at the ground. The whole ordeal was traumatizing, but what confused him the most was the fact that he was able to use One For All at 10% and his body felt fine. He had lost control a little when he first hit the tentacle villain and hit with 10%. He was so lost in thought that he didn’t hear Kagari saying his name until she waved her masculine hand in front of his face. He looked over at her surprised and confused. She just gestured to the police officer.
“What was your name, miss?” the officer asked again.
“He’s not a miss,” Kagari replied flatly, giving the officer a glare.
“Apologies” the officer bowed his head a little before looking back at Midoriya waiting for a response.
“I-Izuku Midoriya. Hero name: Deku” he replied with a stutter. The officer nodded and wrote down what he said.
“If you two will follow Officer Nakamura, she will take you over to the ambulance.” the officer said, gesturing to his partner. The two young heroes nodded and followed the officer who led them to the paramedics.
Once the paramedics took a look at them, Kagari and Midoriya were informed they would have to go to the hospital to see if the villain’s quirk had done any internal damage. They were told that their parents would be made aware of the situation. On the drive there, Midoriya couldn’t stop looking at his hands. His scars were all gone and his hands and arms felt stronger than they did before. It was a weird feeling, feeling like an alien in one’s own body. “No, this isn’t my body” Midoriya thought to himself as he struggled to stop tears from forming in his eyes. Kagari noticed and pulled him in close to her, hugging him tightly. She wasn’t feeling much better than he was, but she had always been good at pushing her own problems aside to help others.
As they arrived and were led into the hospital, Kagari still held him close to her. She only let go when they got to their hospital room and the two of them laid in their separate beds. Midoriya hadn’t spoken since they left the alley. He just stared down at the bed. He felt numb, as if he was feeling everything at once and nothing at all. They spent the next hour being sent to different rooms to be tested: MRI’s, CAT scans, X-Rays, etc.
They were both sitting on their hospital beds, silently, when their mothers rushed into the room. Inko ran over to her son and pulled him into a huge hug. Midoriya barely moved as his mother held him, crying. Tears came down his eyes as he stared blankly at the floor.
“Atsuko Kagari!” Terra yelled at her daughter before continuing in a language that Midoriya didn’t recognize. The two argued back and forth before Inko let go of Midoriya for a moment and looked at Terra.
“Phoenix…” Inko said as she gave Terra a look that Tera understood. She looked at Inko and sighed. She turned back to her daughter and pulled her into a tight hug. Now speaking Japanese again, she spoke.
“You could have died, Akko…” Terra held her daughter tight and her daughter hugged her back. She didn’t say anything else to her mother. After a few minutes of the two mothers holding their children, a doctor knocked on the door.
“Come in,” Terra said plainly. The doctor entered and gave them all a flat smile.
“From what we can see, other than their sexes being changed there doesn’t seem to be anything off,” the doctor said looking between Inko and Terra. “In fact, the old wounds that Midoriya had listed in his chart have completely healed.” Inko looked quite shocked and Terra furrowed her brow, clearly thinking to herself.
“Is there any way to change us back?” Kagari asked, not making eye contact with the doctor, she just looked at the ground. The doctor gave her a sympathetic smile.
“There is nothing we can do. However, if the villain’s quirk was to be nullified or turned off, it may turn you two back. I can’t promise that it will, though,” the doctor replied. Clearly not the answer she was hoping for, Kagari just continued to look at the floor. “They are free to be checked out now,” the doctor said to the mothers before bowing and leaving the room.
After checking out of the hospital, they all piled into Terra’s car and headed home. No one said a word the entire trip home. When they reached Midoriy’s floor, Kagari waved goodbye to him, but he didn't even look up. The two teenagers headed into their apartments and went to sleep, not bothering to change or brush their teeth. Neither of their mothers want to push them right now.

Chapter Text
The next two days are not fun for either of the two teen heroes. Midoriya spends most of the time lying in his bed, staring at his ceiling. He barely eats or sleeps. Inko is incredibly worried about him. She, Phoenix, and Mitsuki meet up at Mitsuki’s home. Masaru is out grabbing groceries and Katsuki is in his room.
“I don’t know what to do,” Inko began, wiping away tears with the tissue Mitsuki had given her. “He barely eats, I don’t even know if he’s slept since that night.” She breaks down into tears again.
“I know how you feel,” Phoenix said, giving her friend a sympathetic look. “Akko’s barely slept or eaten as well. She’s spending most of the day attacking her punching bag.” She pauses and sighs. “I caught her trying to hit it without gloves, I think as a way of...self-harm.” She looks at the ground, her eyes read of sadness and fury. She took another deep breath, trying to calm herself.
“I imagine if Katsuki had this happen to him he’d be doing the same thing Akko is,” Mitsuki said with a sigh. “It would probably take all my power to keep him from running after that villain himself.” Phoenix nodded, understandingly.
“Akko usually keeps her anger under control,” Phoenix said as she took another sip of wine. “She has a deep seeded fear of hurting people by accident because of how powerful her quirk is.” She rubbed her forehead in frustration. “So she never lets herself get angry...not like this.” After a few moments she continues again, “When she’s angry...she reminds me of myself when I was younger...and that is not a picture I wanted to see again.” Mitsuki nods, trying to give her friend a sympathetic look.
“Izuku usually bounces back from things so quickly,” Inko started, her eyes closed. “I know he had a rough time in middle school, but he always kept a smile on his face...yet now…” she breaks down crying again. Phoenix pulls her friend in for a hug and Mitsuki joins.
“It’s only been two days, Inko,” Phoenix said, holding her friend close. “Give him time. I’m sure once that criminal is caught he will be back to normal,” she said before pulling away. “All you can do is be there for him and make sure he eats and drinks,” Phoenix gave a small smile to her friend. Inko nodded and wiped her eyes again. Mitsuki and Inko didn’t hear Katsuki walk back to his room after he had been listening to their conversation. Phoenix knew he was there, but elected to ignore it.
Suddenly, Phoenix’s phone rang and Inko’s did a moment later. Phoenix stood up and answered the phone. “This is Terra,” her soft tone being replaced with the serious one she usually had. “Understood, we’ll be on our way soon,” she finished the call as Inko finished hers. “They caught the guy,” Phoenix said to Mitsuki as she put down the wine glass and started walking towards the door. Mitsuki nodded with a smile.
“Finally, good luck, you two!” Mitsuki said before waving them off. The two mothers hopped back into Phoenix’s car and drove to their apartment building to grab their children. After getting both of them to calm down long enough for them to get ready, the four of them hopped back into the car and headed for the police station. Both Midoriya and Kagari were wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt so they wouldn’t have to worry about their clothes being too baggy or tight.
After a relatively short drive they pulled into the police station and parked. The two mothers managed to get their children to at least calm down their glee. As the four walked into the police station, they saw Eraserhead had just arrived as well. “Hey Eraser!” Terra said with a smile and a simple wave. He waved back, the same tired expression he always had on.
“Hello, Aizawa-sensei” Kagari and Midoriya said in unison as they bowed out of respect. Aizawa simply looked at them and nodded, not saying a word. All Might and Tsukauchi walked up to the growing group. After exchanging some greetings, Aizawa was led to the interrogation room and the rest followed Tsukauchi into the observation room. After he entered and closed the door he activated his quirk, his eyes glowed red and his hair rose above him. Kagari felt a familiar pain as she curled up on the floor, gritting her teeth to stop herself from yelling. After what felt like hours, but was actually only a few seconds, Kagari was helped up by her mother and Tsukauchi.
She looked over to her friend with a smile that quickly faded as she saw that Midoriya had not changed back. Most people in the room had different variations of shock and worry on their faces. Midoriya looked at his hands and didn’t understand why he hadn’t changed back. Aizawa had entered the observation room shortly after canceling the villains quirk. When Midoriya didn’t change back, Aizawa went back into the interrogation room and started questioning the villain. When the villain learned that Midoriya hadn’t changed back, he had a sly grin on his face. He said nothing. Aizawa wanted to hurt the man, but controlled his rage and left the room.
Midoriya sat in a conference room in the police station, his hands covering his face as tears flowed from his eyes. No one knew what to say. Everyone had different expressions on their face. Kagari looked ashamed and guilty. Tsukauchi, All Might, and Aizawa looked confused and concerned. Inko held her son tightly, a worried look on her face. Terra’s expression seemed the most frantic, her eyes darted to different parts of the table. Kagari recognized it as the expression her mother had when she was trying to solve a difficult issue.
“I..” Terra started before looking over at Midoriya who had looked up at her, tears still in his eyes. “I think I might know why Izuku didn’t change back.” Her eyes had a defiant and serious look in them. Most people in the room looked shocked and confused. “However...the reason involves the fundamentals of how Izuku’s quirk works, which Aizawa and Inko are not aware of. It is not my secret to tell…” she finished as she looked at Midoriya, but waited for a possible response from All Might.
The room felt even more quiet than before. As if nobody dared to move a muscle. Midoriya and All Might had a look of shock on their faces, although All Might’s quickly disappeared as he attempted to hide it. Both Kagari and Tsukauchi had a look of understanding and anticipation to see what the current parties would say. Aizawa seemed to have his same tired expression, but Terra could see his confusion and concern just beneath it. Inko had a much more obvious look on her face. The room stood silent for a few more minutes, people stared at both Terra and Midoriya. Terra had her arms crossed, hoping that All Might wouldn’t be too angry about possibly letting his secret known.
All Might sighed heavily, causing most people in the room to look at him. “You may continue, Terra…” he gave her a look that she could read easily, telling her to only explain the bare minimum. Terra nodded before looking at Midoriya.
“Midoriya’s quirk was not originally his,” she paused for a moment before continuing. “He was given his quirk by All Might by having him swallow a piece of All Might’s DNA in the form of a hair. This allowed All Might’s quirk to become his own.” she paused for another moment to let Aizawa and Inko process the information. Aizawa was having a harder time concealing his shock. “If Midoriya received his quirk just before joining UA...That’s why he didn’t have any control over it...He wasn’t lazy beforehand...it was new…” Aizawa frowned, looking down at the ground. He should’ve noticed sooner given how quickly Midoriya was learning to control his quirk. He pinched the bridge of his nose.
“I believe that Midoriya’s quirk is still in the process of combining with his DNA. As such,” she gestured to Midoriya. “When something else changed his DNA it latched on, making returning his DNA to normal basically impossible,” she let out a large sigh and looked down at the ground for a moment before looking back at Midoriya. “I can’t prove that this is what happened, but...if it is, Midoriya is stuck as a girl now…” Terra just looked at Midoriya with the same expression she had used when informing someone that their loved one had died. She didn’t allow herself to look away as Midoriya broke down crying again, this time verbally. Everyone in the room had mixed expressions of shock, anger, and sadness. Even Aizawa couldn’t hide his emotions as well as he usually did.
Kagari stood up, causing everyone but Midoriya to look at her. She just walked over to her friend, her face full of sadness and shame, and joined his..her mother in hugging her tightly. Tsukauchi had to go attend to some police work, but everyone else stayed a while longer.
“I really hate to ask this right now, Midoriya,” Terra paused and let out a sigh before continuing. “But do you still want to be a hero?” She let the question sit with her for a moment. Inko flashed Terra a glare which she ignored. “Because you still can be. You may have a different body now, but you are still you,” Inko’s glare dropped and she looked at her son...daughter. Midoriya sniffled and wiped her nose before looking up at Terra, a little confused. Terra leaned forward onto the table before continuing, “You are still Izuku Midoriya. You are still Deku. You are still as strong as you were and your heart still yearns to protect people. I can see that in your eyes even if you can’t right now.” Midoriya sniffled again before she spoke.
“A-actually...I’m stronger than I was…” everyone else looked at her confused. She looked at All Might. “I was able to use One For All at 10% without any strain.” All Might looked shocked and Midoriya examined her hands for a moment. “The doctor said that my past injuries were completely healed as well…” She let her hands drop to her lap before she continued. “Maybe...maybe I can still be a hero.” she trailed off. Inko looked really worried. She looked at Terra both thankful and angry. On one hand she had helped Izuku feel a little better, but on the other hand her daughter was still going to be in danger.
Kagari squished Midoriya’s face between her hands as she moved her friend’s head to face her. “Of course you can still be a hero! You are Deku! You saved Kota, you saved Eri, and you are not one to give up when people still need help!” she let go of Midoriya’s face and smiled a determined smile. Midoriya was confused at first, but when Kagari finished she joined her friend with a determined smile and a nod. Nobody except Terra noticed Aizawa’s subtle sigh of relief.
“If you are going to return to UA then some things will need to be handled,” Aizawa said in his usual monotone voice as he moved toward the door slowly. “I will speak to Nedzu and inform him of the situation. He will make sure you receive your new uniform before classes start again,” Midoriya couldn’t help, but swallow hard at the thought of a new uniform. Kagari gave her a big reassuring smile, however, which really helped.
“I have some experience with body issues so I suggest that Midoriya meets with me twice a week instead of Hound Dog,” Terra said, looking at Aizawa with her serious expression again. Aizawa simply nodded and dismissed himself, walking out the door of the conference room. Terra turned back to Midoriya. Kagari held one of Midoriya’s hands with both of her hands, trying to reassure her friend that everything would be alright.
“I have an idea on how to handle Deku’s return to school,” Kagari said, standing up with a smile on her face. “I’ll text it to you later and we can discuss it!” She gave her friend a bright smile. Midoriya nodded, returning the smile although not nearly as bright.
With things starting to go on the right track, everyone headed home. All Might waved goodbye as Midoriya, Inko, Kagari, and Terra hopped back into Terra’s car, trying to hide his worry behind his smile. “Young Midoriya...You are stronger than me...You will make it through this…” All Might thought to himself as the car drove off.
Kagari held her friend close during the short journey home. She knew that this wasn’t going to be easy for Midoriya, but she would do everything in her power to be there for her friend.

Chapter 5: I'm Still Deku
Summary:
Izuku Midoriya struggles with the reality of her situation.
Chapter Text
Midoriya was lying in her bed after a late breakfast. It was the morning after she had learned that her female form was permanent and she was still doing everything she could to stop herself from breaking into a panic attack...again. Her phone buzzed and she looked over to see a message from Kagari.
[Kagari Atsuko]
Morning, Deku! Did you manage to get any sleep? <3
Midoriya sighed and rubbed her eyes as she turned on her light.
[Midoriya Izuku]
Yeah. Mom gave me some melatonin so I could actually sleep. I barely slept more than a few hours the past few days.
[Kagari Atsuko]
:( Yeah I didn’t sleep much either till last night. How are you feeling about school? I can’t imagine how difficult this is going to be, but I hope you know I will be there for you every step of the way, okay?
Kagari followed her message with a gif of a kitten hugging another kitten. It actually caused Midoriya to smile a little.
[Midoriya Izuku]
I’m not sure if I can really do it, but I might as well try…
[Kagari Atsuko]
I KNOW you can do this. Without a shadow of doubt in my mind. I’m working on a game plan for how to handle your return in terms of reactions from class. My mom said she’ll email Aizawa-sensei the plan once we’ve decided on it! Ttyl!! <3 <3 XXX
Midoriya closed her phone and sighed. “I wish I could be as enthusiastic as her,” Midoriya thought before she started wondering whether Kagari would have the same reaction as Midoriya does or would she be just as enthusiastic if she was stuck as a man.
Midoriya spent the next couple hours working out. Her mother had gone to the store and gotten her some basic clothing: a sports bra, regular bra, underwear, jeans, t-shirts, some tank tops, and a pair of red sneakers in her new size. She pushed herself even harder during her workouts than she had before. She had something terrible happen to her, but she was gradually gaining the motivation to prove that she is still herself and she is still going to be a hero.
After a couple hours of working out, she came out of her room and filled up her water bottle. Her mother greeted her as she stood there, drinking and catching her breath. “How was your workout, sweetie?” Inko asked with a soft smile, clearly glad that her now daughter wasn’t just lying in bed all day. Midoriya nodded and finished her gulp of water.
“It was...good,” she said, still catching her breath. Inko nodded, finishing up the lunch she was making. She moved the soba noodles and grilled tuna over to the table. Midoriya helped her with the rest and the two of them sat down to eat. Inko noticed that despite the fact that she was working out, she still wasn’t back to her old self, yet. “It’s only been a day. I bet when he..she’s back in class her friends will do a better job of cheering her up,” Inko thought to herself, a little disappointed that she wasn’t able to cheer up her daughter herself. She understood, however, that this was an extremely traumatic event for her. It would take more than a loving mother to make her feel herself again.
Midoriya was just staring at the table as she ate. Her mind had started thinking about training regiments. She knew Kagari wanted to train with her, so she tried thinking of some different exercises the two of them could do to improve both their bodies and quirks. At that thought Midoirya frowned. She wondered how long Kagari had known about One For All. She didn’t act surprised by her mother’s words, which means she had heard them before. How had Terra figured it out? Was she spying on All Might or Midoriya?
It took a couple moments for Midoriya to notice that her mother was trying to get her attention. She snapped out of it and looked at her mother, confused. “You were muttering, sweetie. Are you okay?” Inko asked, looking concerned. She hadn’t been able to hear most of it, but was able to hear the basic gist. Midoriya just nodded to indicate she was fine before looking at her noodles as she continued to eat. “You’re worried about how your friend knew about your quirk…” Inko said, not looking at her daughter.
Midoriya looked at her surprised and a little embarrassed. “I admit, I was angry at first when I learned that it was All Might that had given you that quirk,” she said, her eyes not looking up at her daughter. “With that quirk you’ve gotten so hurt...you broke your arms and legs more times than I can count and I can’t help but think that maybe if you hadn’t gotten that quirk you would have been safer and I wouldn’t have to worry abo-” Inko was cut off by her daughter hugging her tightly.
“I understand, mom,” Midoriya said, not letting go of her mother. “All Might gave me the ability to be the hero I wanted to be.” She pulled back enough to look her mother in the eyes, but she still held her mother’s shoulders. “I know you worry about me, and I am sorry that I put you through so much stress,” she paused, looking down at the ground for the moment before looking back up. “I’ve always wanted to be a hero, to protect people, to make people smile. I didn’t think about how it would affect you as much as I should have...I-I’m sorry,” she looked down at the ground again with shame on her face.
Inko used one of her hands to tilt her daughter’s face to look at her again. “Izuku,” she paused for a moment before continuing. “I am your mother and I am always going to worry. I just want you to be happy. Does being a hero make you happy?” she asked, wanting to know how to help her daughter best. Midoriya looked down for a moment before looking back up at her mother.
“I...yes...It is hard sometimes, but the feeling I felt seeing Eri safe...That was a good feeling,” Midoriya said, smiling for the first time since the incident. It was a soft smile, but it was a smile nonetheless. Inko pulled her daughter back in for a hug.
“Then that’s what I care about. I want you to be happy, Izuku” Inko said, some tears falling on her daughter’s shoulder. After a couple more minutes of hugging and crying the two let go of each other to finish eating.
After cleaning up, Midoriya went back into her room to stretch. Kagari had sent her a guide on yoga while she was eating lunch. Kagari thought that it would be a good stress relief for her. Midoriya set up her phone so she could watch the video and follow it at the same time. After about an hour of attempting yoga she gave up. Her hands, arms, and legs had marks on them from the carpet she was attempting it on. It was definitely not relaxing. After lying down on her bed to rest her phone buzzed.
[Kagari Atsuko]
Hey! How are you feeling?
[Midoriya Izuku]
I admit I am feeling a little better...I worked out a bunch and had a good crying session with my mom :p Tried that yoga thing, but my limbs all have carpet burn now, so I don’t think I’ll be doing that again
[Kagari Atsuko]
...I have just realized I never asked if you actually had a yoga mat...brb
Midoriya looked a little confused, but laid on her bed waiting. No more than two minutes later there was a knock at the door. Inko answered it and Midoriya opened her door so she could see who it was.
“Hey, Midoriya-san! Could you give this to Deku? Thanks!” Kagari said before she ran back up stairs. Midoriya looked at her mom confused and Inko was also confused but shrugged and handed Midoriya the rubber cylinder. After returning to her room with it, she saw she had a new message.
[Kagari Atsuko]
There! You’re supposed to do yoga on one of those so you don’t hurt yourself! If you get a chance try it again with that!
[Midoriya Izuku]
...Kagari...did you really need to run that down to me -.-
[Kagari Atsuko]
XP Yes, yes I did. Also, you can call me Akko, okay?
[Midoriya Izuku]
Oh...uh...okay...why though?
[Kagari Atsuko]
Most of my close female friends call me Akko and I include you in that now <3. I know that this whole thing is difficult and ridiculous even if I obviously don’t know HOW difficult it is for you. But I want to make you feel comfortable and included okay? You’re a girl now, you are still Deku and you are still my friend, but you ARE a girl now…
Midoriya didn’t know how to respond. She knew Kagari...Akko was right, but it was still really hard to accept. She wished she could just be her old self again, but she knew that it was impossible and holding false hope would just hurt her more in the long term. She let out a deep sigh. She still felt numb.
[Kagari Atsuko]
I..I’m sorry...I didn’t mean to rub it in…
[Midoriya Izuku]
It...it’s okay...I know that you mean well and weren’t trying to rub it in on purpose…
[Kagari Atsuko]
I still should have known better...I would still appreciate it if you called me Akko though. You were already becoming a close friend before all this happened…Either way, I think I have the game plan. We just need one more thing…
Kagari Atsuko added Bakugou Katsuki to the chat
Midoriya’s eyes went wide with fear when she read her screen.
[Midoriya Izuku]
K-Kacchan???
[Kagari Atsuko]
Bakugou-san caught him listening to the conversation between our mothers. So as punishment, she is making him help us :p
Bakugou started typing, but then stopped.
[Kagari Atsuko]
Bakugou, we live like 5 neighborhoods apart and I can hear your growl from here -.-
[Bakugou Katsuki]
Shut up ya supid witch!
[Midoriya Izuku]
You really shouldn’t tease him like that Akko…
[Kagari Atsuko]
:p leave me and my death wish alone, Deku XP. Either way, this is the plan so far. On the morning of the first day back to school I will bring both your stuff and my stuff to the dorms and then head to class. My mom will drive you and Bakugou to school and Bakugou will walk you to class. I’ll be there already so you don’t need to worry.
[Midoriya Izuku]
I...Idk...What if everyone just laughs at me?? What if they call me a freak??
Midoriya started to panic again.
[Bakugou Katsuki]
If anyone makes fun of you I’ll kill them
[Midoriya Izuku]
K-Kacchan! Please don’t kill anyone!
[Kagari Atsuko]
Actually...that’s not a terrible idea
[Midoriya Izuku]
Akko!
[Kagari Atsuko]
Not the KILLING part, but let’s be realistic, no matter what we say Bakugou is still going to threaten them if they make fun of you (Which I HIGHLY doubt anyone will btw) so we might as well just prepare for it in advance.
[Midoriya Izuku]
I...I guess you’re right…
[Kagari Atsuko]
Good! I’ll fill my mom in and she’ll email Aizawa-sensei!! Ttyl!
[Midoriya Izuku]
Cya
Midoriya sighed and ran her hand through her long green hair. This whole situation was seriously stressing her out. Her phone buzzed again.
[Bakugou Katsuki]
You better still be aiming for the top, ya damn nerd. Because I will still beat you at your best!
[Midoriya Izuku]
I told you before and I will make it true: I am going to beat you, Kacchan
Midoriya closed her phone and actually smiled.
“At least Kacchan isn’t treating me any differently”
she thought as she closed her eyes to rest.

Chapter Text
Midoriya was lying in bed waiting for her alarm to go off. She had woken up earlier than she had wanted, but she still managed to get some sleep. She decided to just get up anyways and turned off her alarm before it went off. She grabbed a towel and headed into the bathroom. She hadn’t showered since the incident as she really didn’t feel comfortable seeing herself naked yet.
She got undressed and got in the shower after turning it on. She tried to just wash herself without looking, but curiosity got the better of her. It was still really surreal to see what looked like someone else’s body, and not just that, but a girl’s body. She noticed she was getting a little excited and started blushing like crazy as she slammed her eyes shut. “Nope nope nope nope, I did not think that this is not happening nope nope nope,” she frantically thought as she scrubbed her head.
After only a small mishap when she had to wash the rest of her body, she got out of the shower, her face still bright red. She was really glad that the mirror was all fogged up as she dried herself off. As she leaned forward to dry her legs, the weight of her chest through her off balance and she fell over, causing a loud bang.
“Izuku?! Are you okay, sweetie?!” Inko yelled frantically from the other side of the door. Midoriya pulled herself up with help from the counter.
“Yeah, mom...just lost my balance is all,” she replied, her face still bright red. It had already been a week and she still wasn’t really used to the weight on her chest. She was really thankful for the sports bra when she was working out. After wrapping herself in her towel the way her mom had taught her, she quickly walked from the bathroom to her room.
Midoriya laid the uniform out on her bed. She still felt really uncomfortable with the idea of wearing a skirt, but she wanted to fit in as best as she could. It took her a couple minutes to get the bra clasp to actually catch, but she managed it, adjusting the bra so it wasn’t digging in as much. The rest of the outfit was a bit easier to put on.
Once she was wearing everything she looked in the mirror at herself. She thought she looked really cute, but less from a “I look cute today!” way and more of a “I am a teenager who is attracted to girls and there is a girl in front of me” way.
After packing up her back pack, she opened her door. The shower had taken a lot longer than she had expected so she was only barely on time to eat breakfast. She was really glad she had given Kagari her bag yesterday. When she walked into the kitchen her mom squealed with delight.
“Oh my goodness!! You are so cute!” Inko squealed, causing Midoriya to blush and look down at the ground, embarrassed.
“Moommmmm,” Midoriya whined as she pouted and crossed her arms.
“I’m sorry! You’re just so adorable! I need a picture!” Inko said as she grabbed her phone off the counter and pointed it at her clearly embarrassed daughter. “Smile!” she said before taking a picture. Midoriya’s face was as red as a beet.
“Can I please just eat breakfast now?” Midoriya whined again. Inko just nodded and gestured for her to take a seat where the food was already ready. Midoriya quickly sat down and ate, trying to stop herself from blushing more.
When Midoriya was almost done eating there was a knock at the door. Midoriya stuffed down what she could as her mom opened the door to Bakugou grumpily standing there.
“Good morning, Katsuki!” Inko said as Midoriya rushed to put her shoes on. Bakugou narrowed his eyes as he looked at Midoriya, but before he could say anything Terra came up behind him.
“Morning, Inko!” Terra said with a cheery smile. “You kids ready to go?” she asked Midoriya and Bakugou. Midroiya nodded nervously while Bakugou just grunted and started walking down towards the parking lot.
“Have fun, Izuku! Please remember to call me after school!” Inko called out as her daughter moved quickly towards the stairs.
“I will!”
“See ya later, Inko!” Terra said with a bright smile as she headed after the two teenagers. As Inko closed the door she thought to herself about how she could never understand how Terra could wear a tanktop in the winter.
Midoriya hopped in the front seat as Bakugou jumped into the back, grumpily slamming the door. Terra was in the driver’s seat a few moments later and the trio was off. Midoriya breathed deeply trying to still her nerves.
“You’re going to be alright, Izuku,” Terra said gently, her eyes not leaving the road. “You have a heart that can rival my Akko’s. And I know you will make an amazing hero one day.” Midoriya calmed down a bit and gave a determined nod.
After a drive that was a lot shorter than Midoriya expected, they pulled up in front of the school. Terra had said she would drop them off before she went to park the car. As the two teenagers got out of the car Terra called after them one last time.
“Have fun! Don’t do anything I would do!” Terra said with a laugh before she drove off. Midoriya looked a little confused, but shook her head. Bakugou just growled a little. As they walked towards the front door Midoriya fixed her hair a bit. Despite being a lot longer than it had been, it was still just as messy.
“T-Thank you for walking me to class, Kacchan,” Midoriya said quietly as they walked through the halls. She was looking at the ground.
“Tch, whatever. Just don’t start crying on me, Deku,” Bakugou said, stealing a glance at her. He had no idea why he was being so nice to her. Ever since that night in Kamino, he found it harder and more pointless to go after Midoriya. He was going to be a hero. The best hero. He didn’t have time to waste on him...her.
“Alright class listen up!” Aizawa said as he walked through the door. The class immediately quieted down and quickly moved to their seats. Aizawa put a binder on his lectern before continuing. “Midoriya got hit with a quirk over the break. He’ll be back in class today, but don’t make a big deal of it.”
“What kind of quirk did he get hit with?” Mina asked, loudly. Aizawa sighed audibly before replying.
“You’ll see soon enough.” After that the class erupted into murmured discussions which Aizawa allowed for the moment as he waited for Midoriya to arrive.
“Damn it, Deku! Come on!” Bakugou said loudly, but not nearly as loud as he usually is.
“Kacchan I-I can’t! I can’t go in there!” Midoriya replied as she held the straps of her backpack.
“Deku! Ugh, you’re just a girl now! Come on!”
“Easy for you to say, Kacchan! You don’t have to deal with this ,” she said as she gestured to herself. The nerves had gotten to her just before they had gotten to the class.
“I’m pretty sure I’d handle it much better than you!”
“K-Kacchan,” Midoriya gasped and looked a little hurt. Bakugou hated that he actually felt a little bad.
“Come on, Deku,” Bakugou said, gritting his teeth.
“Fiiiine,” she whined as she followed him.
Bakugou whipped open the door with his teeth gritted together and his hand in front of him, his fingers clenched towards his palm. “If any of you say a damn word you’re getting your ass blown sky high!”. Midoriya walked into class behind him and stood there in front of the class, blushing.
“H-hi guys…” she said as she looked up to see her class, all of their jaws had dropped and she blushed and looked down again.
“He’s a she!” Kirishima said, flabbergasted. There was a collective of Oh My’s and How’s.
Uraraka just stared at her friend, utterly shocked. “How is he even cuter now?” Uraraka thought to herself before hearing her own thought and blushing like crazy, staring down at her desk.
“You’re so cute!” Mina shouted and a bunch of the girls joined in with collective aww’s. Midoriya was blushing like crazy when Aizawa ordered them to settle down. Midoriya and Bakugou moved to their seats and most of the class couldn’t keep their eyes off of Midoriya. Uraraka couldn’t bring herself to look at Midoriya with the thought that had just gone through her head.
Aizawa cleared his throat loudly and everyone immediately turned towards the front. “Regardless of Midoriya’s new form, we still have class and I expect all of you to pay attention.” Aizawa made some simple announcements about some things that would be happening in the upcoming semester. Everyone tried their best to pay attention, but it was quite difficult with the metaphorical bomb that had just been dropped on all of them.
When homeroom ended all the students quickly packed up. Most of them swarmed Midoriya as she was walking, but Kagari got next to her.
“Everyone, please, she is very overwhelmed right now. She can answer questions during lunch when we don’t have a class to get to, okay?” Kagari said in a commanding voice. Everyone took a collective couple steps back and Midoriya sighed in relief. Kagari gave her a quick smile before the class rushed off to mathematics.

Thank you all so much for the support so far!! over 350 hits is so crazy!! <3
Chapter Text
After what felt like the longest morning in human history to most of the class, they finally broke for lunch. Once they had their food, the group headed to a large table. Bakugou wasn’t there, but pretty much everyone else was. Kagari made sure to sit next to Midoriya to help referee the incoming barrage of questions.
“What happened?”
“Are you hurt?”
“How are you feeling?”
“Do you like being a girl?”
Kagari managed to get them all to calm down….somehow. “Guys, this is really stressful for her so please slow down with the questions. I’ll explain what happened because I was there and then please just one question at a time!” Kagari said using the same commanding voice she had used outside of their home room.
She went on to explain that both she and Midoriya were attacked by some villains on their way home from a cafe. Both of them had their genders switched, but still managed to beat the crap out of the villains. The one that had changed their genders managed to escape so they were trapped as the opposite gender for a few days. Eventually the villain was caught and Aizawa-sensei used his quirk on the villain causing Kagari to change back immediately, but Midoriya didn’t change back. She said they didn’t know why, but were fairly certain it was permanent.
“You got changed into a girl less than a week ago and you’re already back in school? That’s so manly!” Kirishima said with his typical grin.
“Isn’t the point that it isn’t manly?” Yaoyorozu asked.
“I am fairly certain manly means something different for Kirishima than it does for everyone else. Pretty sure that’s the highest honor he can give anyone, even the girls,” Kagari said with a laugh. Kirishima just shrugged.
“Are you enjoying being a girl?” Uraraka asked excitedly, she had filed her previous thought under ‘Yikes’ and decided to move on.
“I-I don’t know,” Midoriya said as she played with her food a little. Kagari hugged her with one arm and Uraraka did the same on the other side of Midoriya.
“You don’t have to know yet. This is tough and I don’t know if I would be as strong as you are in this situation,” Kagari said with a smile as she let go of her friend.
“Oh yeah, what was it like being a man?” Kaminari asked with a big smile on his face.
Kagari shook her head and made a face of disdain. “Very much did not enjoy it,”
“But didn’t you get to feel stronger and stuff?” he asked, a little confused.
Kagari shrugged. “I mean, not really? I may have been physically stronger, but I was a lot slower and my fighting style revolves around being fast.”
“I have found that I really feel stronger now than I did before. I don’t know if it’s because all of my old injuries are healed or what, but at the very least I feel my handle on my quirk has gotten stronger, so I think it will be interesting to test it out during our heroics class to see if my limits have changed or if-” Midoriya slammed her hands over her mouth as she realized she was rambling. “S-sorry!”.
“Don’t worry about it, it’s good to see you’re still yourself.” Jirou said as she gave her a warm smile.
“Yep! She may have a different body and everything, but she’s still our Deku!” Kagari said with a giggle.
The rest of the lunch was spent chatting and answering various questions. Midoriya noticed that Todoroki was glancing at her for a little longer than he usually did, but she decided to just ignore it. Uraraka was really excited and her energy was infecting Midoriya a little, making her smile just a bit more. When Kagari and Uraraka hugged her again it finally clicked that two girls were hugging her and she started blushing like crazy.
“Aww, your blush is so cute!!” Hagakure said excitedly, causing Midoriya to blush more. Kagari and Uraraka let go and Kagari giggled. Uraraka found herself blushing too and started frantically eating her food in a panic.
After lunch ended Yaoyorozu invited everyone to come study with her in the library during their free block. Most of them agreed, but Midoriya said she had something she needed to do, and Kagari and Hagakare said they were heading to the support department for some costume work. They all went to their separate engagements and Midoriya was left alone to walk to Terra’s office.
When she arrived a few minutes later she knocked on the door. “Come in!” Terra called from within the room. Midoriya entered and sat down on the couch as Terra finished up what she was doing. “So,” Terra said she turned to face Midoriya. “How are you feeling so far today?”
“I-I don’t really know,” Midoriya started. “I feel sad because I miss my body, I feel different because the way I move now is all off, I feel happy that my friends have been so accepting, but I also feel scared for what’s going to happen in the future...I-I don’t know what I’m doing or what I’m going to do.” Midoriya started crying and Terra quickly moved to sit next to her, pulling her into a hug.
“You’re feeling a lot of different things right now and that’s okay. You had something terrible happen to you, but you are here and you are making the most of it.” Terra let go and stood up to grab some tissues for Midoriya. She sat back down, but back in her chair. “You feel as if you are going to lose who you are because of your new body, but you won’t,” Terra said as she gave her a smile. “You are not your body. You may be a girl now, but the fundamentals of your personality and worldview are still the same. You are going to deal with issues, but you have your friends around you. They want to help. You just need to let them.”
Midoriya nodded and took a deep breath. “This is not going to be easy, and you are going to trip and fall along the way, but it doesn’t matter how much you fall, you just need to keep getting up. This isn’t something that is just going to be fixed with one meeting either. You need to work hard. Persistence is the most basic of human traits, and I know you are not someone to give up on your dreams.” Terra smiled at Midoriya, waiting and giving her time to process everything she said.
Midoriya took a few minutes to process everything before taking a deep breath and looked at Terra with a determined look on her face. Terra dismissed her and she walked out of the office, holding the straps of her backpack as she headed towards her next class.
Kagari and Hagakure arrived at the support courses workshop and knocked on the door. Powerloader asked them what they needed after they opened the door.
“Well, we had some ideas for changes for my hero costume, but we aren’t exactly sure how to make it all work,” Hagakure answered, rocking back and forth a little as she stood.
“Basically, my idea was to make a hero costume for her that uses her DNA so that it would be invisible while allowing her to not have to be naked,” Kagari explained. “The main problems we have are that we don’t know how possible it would be and if it is, her shoes would be a totally different issue. Even if the rest of the costume works as intended, there is also the problem that having shoes would be louder than her bare feet, but also significantly more comfortable. I have a few sketches here,” Kagari finished before fishing some loose pieces of paper from her backpack.
“Hmm, I think I see the issue,” Powerloader said, thinking to himself as he studied the sketches. “I may have a possible solution for the shoes, but I agree that the infusing of her DNA with the costume would be rather difficult. It is, however, worth a shot.” Kagari and Hagakure both smiled and thanked him.

Chapter 8: One of Us
Summary:
Izuku is dragged into the girl's locker room by her friends
Chapter Text
Midoriya and Uraraka walked into class 1A as they continued the conversation they were having on their walk back to their homeroom. Kagari and Hagakure quickly walked in after them, just before Aizawa arrived.
“Alright,” Aizawa started as the class quieted down and focused on their teacher. “We are going to be doing some training in Gym Gamma. You will all need your hero costumes. More will be explained once you arrive.” Midoriya looked really worried and uncomfortable. “Midoriya, your costume has already been resized.” The class all exited the class, excitedly. They were curious as to what training they were going to be doing today.
“Hey, what’s wrong, Deku?” Uraraka asked, concerned. Midoriya looked down as she walked, she didn’t know how to respond.
“You’re worried about changing, aren’t you?” Kagari asked from the other side of Midoriya. Midoriya looked at her a little shocked and then nodded, looking embarrassed. “Oh don’t worry! You’re going to change with us, you don’t need to worry about anything,” Kagari smiled sweetly at her friend.
“Yeah! There’s nothing to be embarrassed about!” Uraraka exclaimed before dragging Midoriya into the girl’s locker room. She just slammed her eyes shut as she was dragged over to the lockers. “You can’t get dressed with your eyes closed, silly!” Midoriya reluctantly opened her eyes to see Uraraka smiling at her. Behind her she could see the other girls wave to her, smiling as well. It did help her feel a little better.
She opened her costume suitcase and took off her uniform, getting dressed quickly, trying her best not to look at anyone. As she finished pulling her gloves on, Ashido spoke to her.
“Girl, you need to chill out. Nobody here is going to judge you okay?” Ashido said with a smile. Midoriya just looked down before she spoke.
“I-It’s just really weird for me...I feel like I’m some pervert!” Midoriya said loudly before she started crying. Most of the girls rushed over to her and pulled her into a group hug.
“We don’t think you are, okay? You being in here is no different than me being in here,” Kagari said softly. “I like girls too, but I don’t have the intention to just stare at everyone here while we’re getting dressed, and I know you don’t either. You have a good heart, Deku.” Midoriya just sniffled and thanked her as the group pulled apart.
“We understand that this is really tough on you,” Yaoyorozu said.
“Yeah, and we know you aren’t like some pervert or anything, you didn’t ask for this,” Hagakure added.
“You’re our friend ribbit ” Asui said, smiling brightly at her friend.
“You’re one of us now, okay?” Jirou said as the rest of the girls nodded.
“T-Thank you guys so much,” Midoriya said, wiping tears off her cheek. Her friends smiled at her before they all finished up and headed out the door to the gym.
When they all arrived at the gym, Aizawa, Ectoplasm, Cementoss, and Ms. Terra were standing there waiting for them.
“Alright, class,” Aizawa started in his usual monotone voice. “Today you are all going to be working on not only improving your ultimate moves, but also using them alongside each other.”
“You will be split into random pairs, your goal will be to remove the target from the platform,” Ms. Terra gestured to the assorted cement platforms. “Once you believe you and your partner are ready, your goal will be to knock me off of that highest platform.” Ms. Terra smiled as the class looked shocked.
“You will practice combining your ultimate moves and once you believe you are ready you may take a shot at Ms. Terra,” Ectoplasm added. “Your pairings will be chosen at random and this exercise will continue throughout the week, so if you are not able to complete it today do not worry.”
“This exercise will improve your own ultimate moves while also giving you practice with working together, as when you are pro’s there will be times when you must work with other heroes.” Aizawa concluded. Ashido raised her hand. “Yes, Ashido?”
“Isn’t it like a little unfair to be going against a teacher? Plus even if we do succeed, what about Terra-sensei’s injuries?” Ashido asked, concerned more about her ability to take on a teacher than the teacher's injuries.
“I can take any beating you kids can deal out, don’t you worry about that. As for the other issue,” Ms. Terra said, stretching a little bit. “You guys are going to be using your ultimate moves, so you should be able to get me at some point, given that I have no ranged attacks. However, I will be trying to knock you all off as well, so you will have to be prepared for that.”
“Any more questions?” Aizawa asked. The class remained silent. “Alright, here are the pairings: Ashido and Ojiro, Iida and Tokoyami, Kagari and Hagakure, Kaminari and Sero, Kirishima and Shoji, Uraraka and Asui, Aoyama and Jirou, Sato and Todoroki, Midoriya and Bakugou, Koda and Yaoyorozu. Now, pair up and start practicing. If you have any further questions let us know.”
Class 1A rushed off towards the platforms to start practicing. Some people liked their pairing, while others were not the biggest fans. Midoriya and Bakugou stopped when they reached the top of one of the platforms.
“I know you don’t like listening to me, Kacchan,” Midoriya started and was surprisingly not interrupted. “So what do you want to do?” Bakugou looked at her, confused.
“What?”
“You’re always saying you don’t want to listen to me, so how do you want to take down Terra-sensei?” Midoriya seemed genuinely interested in getting Bakugou to actually work with her for once. Bakugou just grunted.
“I’ll just blast her right off the bat. I don’t need your help, Deku,” Bakugou just looked away from her and she sighed.
“Alright, then let’s go right now,” Midoriya looked at him, serious. He looked back at her, a little confused. “If you think you can take her right now, then let's go. I’ll stand back and watch if you think you don’t need my help.” Bakugou just grunted and walked over to the edge of the platform.
“Hey Terra! I’m ready to knock you off!” Bakugou shouted, causing most of the class to look at him and Midoriya. Midoriya just rolled her eyes, shaking her head with a shrug.
A few minutes later the three of them were on top of the highest platform. Midoriya stood near the back and Bakugou and Ms. Terra stood ready.
“Begin!” Ms. Terra shouted and Bakugou let off a huge explosion at her. He just stood there, smirking when Ms. Terra came out of the smoke with a roundhouse kick that nearly knocked Bakugou off of the platform. Midoriya stopped him from falling off and Bakugou reluctantly accepted the help. Bakugou charged at Ms. Terra who smirked.
Bakugou let off an even larger explosion and this time Ms. Terra rolled out of the smoke before jumping up and throwing a punch to Bakugou’s stomach, followed by a punch to the face, followed again by Ms. Terra kicking Bakugou straight off the platform. Ms. Terra was a lot faster than Bakugou and Midoriya were expecting. As Midoriya starred with her mouth agape as Bakugou fell to the platform below, Ms. Terra kicked her off as well.
“Never take your eyes off your opponent,” Ms. Terra said loud enough for the whole gym to hear. “And never underestimate an opponent.” She finished before she hopped down and helped Midoriya to her feet. “I get what you were trying to do, kid. But maybe try a little harder next time?” Ms. Terra patted her on the shoulder before she headed back to where she was before.
“Kacchan, can we please just work together? I know you don’t like working with me, but we both need each other to succeed at this,” Midoriya looked at him, looking defeated.
“Whatever, nerd. Let’s just get this over with,” Bakugou said as the pair headed to a free platform and finally started practicing together.

Chapter Text
After the class ended, class 1A changed and headed back to the dorms. No one had managed to push Ms. Terra off the edge. Besides Midoriya and Bakugou, Kirishima, Shoji, Uraraka, and Asui all tried and failed to defeat their teacher.
“Seriously, Akko-chan, your mom is really good! How are we supposed to beat her?” Uraraka whined as the class entered the dorm.
“I’m not really sure to be honest. I could try just pushing her off with my telekinesis, but as I told Toru-chan, my mom knows more about my quirk than I do, so I have no idea if that would even work,” Kagari sighed in defeat. “I think we should work on it as a class if you guys want to have a study session in a little while?”
“Ooh! Yeah! Sounds great!” Ashido cheered with a big smile.
“Let’s meet in the common room in an hour then!” Kagari said with a smile. The class all went in different directions. Some to their rooms, and others to the kitchen or common room. Midoriya headed up to her room, feeling particularly exhausted from the day.
She fell back onto her bed with a big sigh after closing her door. “It wasn’t all bad, but still…” she started, closing her eyes and yawning. “I don’t really know if I can do this…” Before she could nod off her phone started ringing, causing her to yelp a little in surprise. She caught her breath before looking at her phone to see her mom was calling her.
“Hey, mom,” Midoriya said aftering answering the call.
“Hello, sweetie!” Inko said cheerfully. “Sorry I didn’t wait! I was just getting a little antsy!”
“It’s alright,” Midoriya replied, not giving much of a cheer.
“What’s wrong, Izuku?”
“You know what’s wrong, mom.”
“Did your classmates give you a hard time? Do I need to have Phoenix talk to them?” Midoriya could hear the frown in her mother’s voice.
“W-What? No! E-Everyone was fine, mom!” Midoriya couldn’t help, but drop her head in sadness. “Maybe a little too fine…”
“What do you mean?”
“All the girls were really accepting and even...excited? It felt really weird. They even dragged me into the girl’s locker room!” Midoriya closed her eyes tight as she blushed.
“You didn’t think you were going to go into the boy’s locker room did you?”
“Hmph, I guess not...but it still felt really weird. I tried to just keep my eyes shut, but they all just hugged me and said I was ‘One of them’. I don’t even know what that means!” Midoriya shouted. Inko laughed a little. “Mom!” Midoriya whined.
“Sweetie, they are your friends and they care about you. That was their way of saying that they accept you as you are. That you don’t need to feel like an imposter.” Midoriya just remained silent. She didn’t know what to say. “Izuku, please, just get some rest, okay?”
“Sure, mom,” Midoriya said, as she tried to hold back her tears. “Talk to you later.”
“I love you, Izuku,”
“Love you, too, mom,” She said as she hung up her phone. As soon as the call ended she bursted into tears. She curled up on her bed, sobbing. She didn’t really know what she was crying about, but everything had just gotten too much for her. She didn’t realize how loud she was crying until someone was holding her tightly.
“W-Wha-?” Midoriya tried to say in between crying. Even when she opened her eyes there were too many tears for her to see.
“Deku?? What’s wrong??” Uraraka asked, frightened as she pulled back from hugging her crying friend.
“U-Uraraka?? I-I…” she tried to say before she started crying again. Her friend just hugged her tightly, a concerned look on her face.
After several more minutes of crying, Midoriya’s crying slowed down. Uraraka pulled back from the hug enough to look her friend in the eyes. She looked very worried as she used the sleeve of her shirt to wipe the tears from Midoriya’s eyes. Midoriya just sniffled, looking down at her own lap.
“I-I’m sorry, U-Uraraka,” Midoriya said with shame on her face.
“Deku...you have nothing to be sorry for. Why were you crying? Did something happen?” Uraraka asked, the concern never leaving her face.
Midoriya stayed silent for a few moments before she spoke. “I-I don’t know...Everything that’s happened...I don’t know how to feel…” She hung her head even more than before. “It’s just too much...I feel like some imposter...I’m not supposed to be a girl!” Tears fell down her cheeks again, but she didn’t make any other noises.
Uraraka just hugged her tightly again. She didn’t know what should say or even what she could say to help her friend feel better. She resolved to try anyways, and just hope her words didn’t make her friend feel worse.
“Deku, listen to me,” She said, pulling back from the hug, but still holding her friend’s shoulders. “You are not an imposter. You didn’t ask for this. We all know that! That’s why we told you you’re one of us girls now. We want you to feel like you don’t need to hide, okay?” Uraraka looked into her friend’s eyes in a caring way.
Midoriya looks at her before looking down. “I-I don’t think I deserve you, any of you…” She looked defeated, her anxiety and self-doubt taking a hold of her.
Uraraka grabbed her friend’s face, cupping her cheeks and raising her friend’s head to look at her. “Deku, you do deserve us! You are the kindest, strongest, and smartest person I have ever met. You risk your life in a heartbeat if it means saving someone’s life! If anyone deserves unconditional love, it’s you! Okay?” Uraraka said with a furrowed brow and a serious expression on her face.
Midoriya looked into her friend’s eyes. Midoriya still looked distraught, but after a moment she nodded. “Okay...I-I don’t think I’m okay, yet, but...thank you, Uraraka,” she gave her friend a soft smile. Uraraka smiled and nodded with a determined look. About half a second later they both realized the position they were in. Both teenagers recoiled a little bit with wide eyes and their faces bright red with blush.
“Y-Yeah n-no problem,” Uraraka stammered. Both of them looked away from each other, embarrassed. Though, after a moment, both of their expressions turned to a little bit of sorrow, both missing holding each other. “A-Anyway,” Uraraka started, turning back to her friend with her hand on the back of her neck awkwardly. “I-I’ll see you in a little bit for the study session,” she said before getting off her friend’s bed and quickly walking towards the door she had thankfully closed on her way in.
“Uraraka…” Midoriya started, causing Uraraka to turn back and look at her friend. Midoriya was looking down at her lap again, but looked up at her friend with a sweet smile. “Thank you, for everything.”
Uraraka smiled brightly. “Anytime, Deku!” After that she quickly left the room, closing the door on her way out. Both of them sighed deeply after Urarka left. “I can’t believe I just acted that way,” she thought as she screwed her eyes shut and shook her head. “You’re both girls now, Ochaco, and you’re straight!...Right?” she thought before shaking her head back and forth quickly and rushing off to her room.
“Sh-She was so close…” Midoriya thought before she whined and shook her head violently. “She’s just a friend!...Right?” Midoriya buried her face in her pillow and groaned in frustration.
A little while later, Midoriya had changed into sweatpants and a hoodie before she headed down to the common room to meet with everyone else. When she walked into the common room she could see Ashido, Asui, Iida, Uraraka, Ojiro, Kaminari, Kagari, Sato, Shoji, Jirou, Sero, Hakagure, and Yaoyorozu sitting both on the couch and the floor, roughly circling the coffee table. Kagari waved her over.
“Hey, Deku!” Kagari said cheerfully. “Doesn’t seem like anyone else is going to join us so let’s get to work!” The class got to work studying for their classes while also discussing possible ways to beat their teacher. Although, sometimes they do break into tangents of discussing things that are unrelated to their school work.
Eventually people break off to go and do their own things, leaving Midoriya, Uraraka, Kagari, Hakagure, and Asui left. Kagari leaned back and stretched with a little yawn. “Okay, might be as good a time as any to take a break,” Kagari said after she finished her stretch. Her friends joined her in assorted yawns, stretches, and one ribbit .
The group of girls end up chatting amongst themselves. Todoroki walked past them and into the kitchen, no one except Midoriya noticed him eyeing her as he walked past. “Hey, Todoroki! How are you today?” Midoriya asked, trying to be as bubbly as she used to be.
Todoroki looked at her with an odd expression before replying, “I’m fine.” He turned away from them and grabbed an apple before walking back towards his room. Midoriya stood up and walked quickly over to him, walking next to him as he walked.
“What’s wrong, Todoroki?” she asked with concern. He remains silent for a little bit as they enter the stairwell.
“Nothing. I am fine,” Todoroki responded in his typical monotone voice. Midoriya just frowned.
“You’ve been acting weird ever since we returned from winter break. Did something happen?” Todoroki was silent.
“No. I am fine,” he said after a moment. “I wish to be alone right now, Midoriya-chan.” Midoriya just stopped and Todoroki continued walking up the stairs, eventually turning off onto his floor. Midoriya just looked confused, not really understanding what was going on with her friend. She sighed heavily and headed back to her other friends.
When Midoriya returned to the group they were all giving her different looks. “What’s going on with Todoroki?” Uraraka asked with clear concern.
“Yeah, what’s going on between you two?” Kagari asked with a very slight mischievous look that she tried, and failed, to hide. Hakagare elbowed Kagari, giving her a look that no one could see, but Kagari could clearly understand. Midoriya looked at Kagari with a confused expression as she sat back down.
“I don’t know,” Midoriya started. “He wouldn’t tell me what was going on and just said he wanted to be alone.” She shrugged with a disappointed look on her face. Not wanting to receive another elbow to the ribs, Kagari didn’t press any further. Asui changed the subject to something else and the group moved on. Although, Midoriya was still lost in thought with worry for her friend.

Chapter 10: Movie Night
Summary:
Class 1A finishes their training exercise and celebrate with a movie night
Chapter Text
On Friday Midoriya is doing some stretching before their class begins. She finished up her stretching as Ms. Terra and Ectoplasm entered. Aizawa and Cementoss had already arrived.
“Alright, class,” Ms. Terra started, getting everyone’s attention. “Today is the last day for this training exercise. Those of you who have already completed it namely, Iida, Tokoyami, Kagari, Hagakure, Kirishima, Shoji, Uraraka, Asui, Aoyama, Jirou, Sato, and Todoroki, you will simply continue to train with Ectoplasm on your ultimate moves, which you can start now.” She gestured to Ectoplasm. The students who had already completed the exercise went off to continue their training.
“Those of you who remain will have till the end of this class to push Ms. Terra off of the platform,” Aizawa said with his usual monotone voice. “Who will be going first?” Kaminari quickly raised his hand and Ms. Terra nodded as she headed towards the platform, followed by Kaminari and Sero.
The other students went to different platforms to practice while they waited to see if Kaminari and Sero would succeed. Midoriya and Bakugou didn’t really know what else they could do to prepare so they practiced their ultimate moves. They had tried and failed three times already to beat their teacher. Midoriya watched as Kaminari and Sero started their match against their teacher.
Sero started by shooting tape at Ms. Terra with one of his arms. Ms. Terra simply dodged the tape wherever it hit. Kaminari shot one of his pointers at Ms. Terra as she charged at them, causing it to imbed in the wall behind her. Kaminari activates his quirk to electrocute Ms. Terra. It doesn’t manage to stop her, however it slows her down enough that Sero has enough time to wrap his tape around her and throw her off the edge.
Ms. Terra hit the platform below, causing one of her arms to break with an audible snap. Kaminari and Sero are celebrating when they hear the snap and look over the edge at their teacher who struggled to her feet. Ms. Terra easily healed the broken bone and wormed her way out of the tape as she spoke to her students.
“Good job! Good way of using your quirks together,” Ms. Terra said with a smile. Kaminari and Sero head down to another platform to practice their ultimate moves with Ectoplasm. “Who’s next?” Ms. Terra shouted as she looked around at her students. Ashido shouted just a second before Bakugou could so she and Ojiro got to go next. Bakugou growled a little at having to wait even longer.
A couple minutes later Ashido and Ojiro arrive at the top of the platform. Ashido seems a bit out of breath, but composed herself. “Ready?” Ms. Terra asked her students as she got in a fighting position. Ashido and Ojiro nodded simultaneously.
“Begin!” Ms. Terra started running at her students to try and throw them off balance. Ashido shoots acid at her which she dodges. Ojiro hit Ms. Terra back with his tail and continues to attack her without letting up. Some attacks she dodges, but most she just blocks. Her bones break and heal with each hit. Ashido had ran to the side when Ojiro began attacking. She threw her acid, which Ms. Terra dodged, but she slipped a little on the original acid Ashido had thrown. Ojiro took the stumble to his advantage and hit her hard. She got knocked back a little bit but she dove under his next attack, rolling and popping up to kick at him. He managed to block it, but Ashido hit Ms. Terra with maximum strength acid, some of which got on Ojiro who winced in pain. The acid ate through her tank top and skin but struggled to get past Ms. Terra’s muscle as it healed too fast. Ms. Terra attempted to keep fighting, but Ashido threw more acid that ate away most of Ms. Terra’s foot, causing her to stumble. Ojiro takes the opportunity to knock Ms. Terra back hard, causing her to finally fall over the edge.
Ms. Terra managed to roll as she hit the ground. She caught her breath as the acid slowly dissipated. Ashido jumped up and down excitedly and Ojiro simply smiled and nodded. Ms. Terra ran to the other side of the platform and grabbed an extra tank top she brought specifically for if this happened. With her body now properly covered she congratulated her students. Ms. Terra took off her destroyed shoes and replaced them with a new pair. By the time she finished this, Bakugou and Midoriya had already made it to the top of the platform and were waiting for their teacher.
“Fourth time’s the charm I suppose,” Ms. Terra said as she got back to the top platform. “Ready?” Bakugou growled a little at her little comment. “Begin!”
Midoriya activated One For All and ran around the edge of the platform as Ms. Terra ran into the middle and stopped. “AP Shot!” Bakugou yelled as he shot off his ultimate move at his teacher who attempted to dodge it, but was surprised to find that Bakugou had started rapid firing. She dodged most with flips and rolls, but she was hit a couple times. “ All For One 20% St. Louis Smash!” went through Midoriya’s head as she launched herself into the air. She spun around and swung at her teacher who had lost her balance slightly from a hit to her shin. She managed to cross her arms in front of herself as Midoriya hit, but the kick was still strong enough to send her flying off the platform and into the wall.
“Okay,” Ms. Terra said from her place now stuck in the wall. “That one hurt,” she finished before she laughed a little. Midoriya at first looked proud to have won, but when she heard her teacher she got really worried.
“Oh my gosh are you okay, Ms. Terra-sensei??” Midoriya asked frantically. She just laughed and nodded.
“Good hit, kid. And nice team work you two!” she said with a smile to her students. Bakugou just grumbled and headed down the platform. “Um, could someone help me though? I...I am indeed stuck,” Ms. Terra said with another laugh. Midoriya was about to try and jump over to help her, but Cementoss raised himself up to help pull Ms. Terra out of the wall. “Thank you, Ishiyama-san”. Cementoss nodded and lowered the concrete platform.
Midoriya headed down to continue practicing. When she arrived at an empty platform she rubbed her legs a little. They were throbbing a little from using 20% of One For All. She decided to just do some more stretching as a sort of cool down from the fight she just had. As she stretched she watched as Koda and Yaoyorozu headed up to the top platform. They were the last two to go.
She couldn’t really see most of the fight, but she did see Koda get knocked off and some sort of inflatable raft appear, knocking Ms. Terra off. She could hear Ms. Terra shout up at Yaoyorozu.
“Did you just knock me off with an inflatable raft? That was amazing! Good work!” Ms. Terra laughed before dusting herself off and heading down to where the rest of the teachers were. Midoriya could see the teachers talking to each other, but she couldn’t really hear what they were saying.
After class Midoriya and her classmates were seated in their homeroom as Aizawa gave an announcement. “Next week class 1A and class 1B will be involved in a joint training exercise,” Aizawa started, causing some excited whispers from his class. One stare silenced those whispers however. “You will be split into five teams of four. Your goal will be to capture all members of the opposing team and place them in a specified jail location. There will be a twenty minute time limit. If neither team has captured all members of the opposing team within the time limit then whichever team has the most captures will win.”
Once Aizawa finished his announcement the class was dismissed and headed back towards their dorm. The class talked amongst themselves as they traveled, clearly excited by the upcoming training battle.
“This is so exciting!” Ashido squealed as the class arrived at their dorm.
“I know right!” Kirishima added. “It’s gonna be a lot of fun to actually fight against 1B! We haven’t really gotten many chances to train with them.”
“Oooh!! It’s Friday night! We should have a class movie night!!” Ashido shouted excitedly. Some people seem excited by the idea, others not so much.
“Yes! That’ll be awesome!” Kagari said excitedly.
“Count me out,” Bakugou said as he started trudging towards his room.
“Oh no, you are joining us, blasty!” Kagari said with her hands on her hips. Bakugou turned around slightly with a sneer.
“Come on, Bakubro! Watch a movie with us!” Kirishima shouted to his friend. After a couple moments Bakugou groaned and trudged back towards the common room.
“Oh no you don’t, Todoroki-kun! You’re joining us too!” Midoriya said loudly as she ran after Todoroki.
“I don’t want to tonight,” Todoroki said as he tried and failed to get around Midoriya who was standing in front of him.
“Come on Todoroki-kun! You gotta join us! It’s a class activity!” Uraraka said cheerfully. Todoroki caved and just slowly walked back to the common room. Midoriya cheerfully jogged back over to the couches.
With that being settled, Yaoyorozu headed into the kitchen to make some popcorn and Kagari ran upstairs to grab a bunch of blankets for whoever wanted some. Midoriya and Jirou joined Yaoyorozu in the kitchen to help with the popcorn. The three idley chatted as they grabbed several bowls and started microwaving the popcorn.
Kirishima, Bakugou, Sero, Kaminari, and Mina sat in a group on the couch and on the floor as they chatted a little. The rest of the class was split up into small groups of chatting, although they were all still very close together.
“What movie should we watch?” Asui asked the group in general.
“Horror movie,” Bakugou said without missing a beat.
“Awww,” Uraraka whined. “Do we have to watch a scary movie?”
“You did want him to stay, right?” Kaminari responded to Uraraka. She just pouted and crossed her arms.
“Fineeeeee,” Uraraka pouted. Kagari came back into the common room with an armload of blankets as Yaoyorozy, Jirou, and Midoriya came out of the kitchen with several bowls of popcorn. “Oooh! Thanks Yaomomo!” Uraraka said with glee as some bowls were passed out. Iida had already turned on the tv and gotten to the movie streaming app.
“Hey! I helped too!” Midoriya said, sticking her tongue out at Uraraka who giggled. Midoriya and Uraraka sat next to each other and shared a bowl and a blanket. Todoroki was sitting on the other side of Midoriya, though not nearly as close as Uraraka.
“These are the selections of horror movies available from this application,” Iida said before thanking Jirou for a bowl of popcorn that he shared with Tokoyami and Shoji.
“What about It ?” Sato offered from his seat on the floor. There were some murmured agreements so Iida started the movie. Kagari and Hagakare sat shoulder to shoulder as they both leaned forward, excited for the movie to start.
Every time there was a jumpscare Uraraka and Midoriya clung to each other and sometimes even screamed. Midoriya had faced down deadly villains, but a spooky clown was unfortunately the right amount of creepy to scare her.
Despite the near constant noise, Jirou ended up falling asleep with her head on Yaoyorozu’s shoulder. Yaoyorozu just put her arm around her and held her close with a smile.
When the movie ended, Bakugou was the first to get up. Uraraka and Midoriya were chatting to each other, neither quite realizing just how close their faces were to each other. The two were so immersed in their conversation that as soon as Bakugou turned on the lights the two of them screamed and jumped a little. Jirou gasped and sat up at the sudden noise.
“Quit ya screaming, ya damn nerd!” Bakugou shouted at them. Uraraka and Midoriya frown and huff as they cross their arms and look away from Bakugou. A moment later they peaked a glance at each other before they started giggling, causing Bakugou to roll his eyes as he walked into the kitchen to grab a snack.
The members of class 1A slowly stood up and stretched. Some of them joined Bakugou while others headed up to their rooms.
“Oh! Girls! You should all come to my room for a slumber party!” Yaoyorozu said excitedly. The girls all had varying reactions, but they all agreed to meet in Yaoyorozu’s room in a little bit. Kaminari looked sad and whined that he wanted to go, but Kirishima just dragged him away telling him it wasn’t manly to crash a party.
Midoriya headed up to her room after putting the bowls in the dishwasher. As she entered her room she looked around for a little bit, trying to figure out what exactly she was supposed to bring. She changed into a pair of pajama pants that Kagari had lent her and a black tank top, as well as a pair of All Might slippers. She let her messy green hair just settle behind her back.
She started to get worried, she had never been to anything like this before so she didn’t know what she should do or if they even wanted her to come. “Yaomomo said the girls, does that include me??” she thought as she started to hyperventilate a little, but then started taking deep breaths. “You’re okay, Izuku. Breathe.” After a few minutes she managed to calm herself down. She reluctantly opened her door and headed down the stairs to Yaoyorozu’s room.
When she knocked she heard Yaoyorozu tell her to come in from the other side. When she opened the door she saw that all the other girls had already arrived. She waved to them and gave them an embarrassed smile before she closed the door. Kagari waved her over to the circle they were all in and she sat down in between Kagari and Uraraka. Midoriya just looked down at her lap, she felt nervous and embarrassed.
Uraraka put a hand on Midoriya’s shoulder and gave her a sympathetic smile. “What’s wrong, Deku-chan?” she asked. The other girls looked at Midoriya as well, most with worry in their eyes.
Midoriya looked up and her face went red as she started stammering. “N-No it’s nothing, I’m fine...I just haven’t ever been to a party like this before because I didn’t really have any friends growing up, so I’m not really sure what I-'' she stopped and slammed her hands over her mouth as her eyes went wide. She didn’t mean to blurt all that out. “I’m so sorry! Please ignore tha-” she is interrupted by all the girls hugging her in a group hug. She can’t help, but start to cry, although this time they were tears of happiness and relief.
Chapter 11: Slumber Party
Summary:
The girls of class 1A have a slumber party
Chapter Text
The girls were all sitting in a circle chatting about what exactly they should do. “Oooh!! Who do you guys like!” Kagari said with a mischievous grin as she looked around the circle.
“Oh no, you are not getting me to do something like that!” Hagakure protested as she shook her head.
“Oh! But it’ll be so fun!” Ashido added with a large smile. “And it's not like anyone here is going to get judged for who they like!”
“Yeah! It’s just a bit of fun!” Kagari added as she threw her hands up to emphasize her point. “And if anyone doesn’t really feel comfortable they can just pass!”
“I suppose it could be fun, ribbit ” Asui said as she put her finger on her chin as if she was thinking. “Personally, I don’t have anyone I like that way at the moment. I’m not really looking for that kind of relationship right now,” Asui finished with a shrug.
“That’s valid! I personally see it as a way to have something normal in our crazy lives, but I can totally understand where you are coming from,” Kagari said with a smile to her friend before looking over at Jirou who was sitting to Asui’s right. “You’re turn!”
Jirou’s face goes bright red and she shakes her head quickly. “I-I don’t like anyone right now!” she stammered before looking down at the floor.
“Are you sureeee about that?” Hagakure prodded, Kagari could hear the mischievous smile she no doubt had. “I saw you resting your head on Yaomomo’s shoulder during the movie!”
“Awww!! You would make such a cute couple!” Uraraka exclaimed with a big smile. Some of the other girls murmured agreements as both Jirou and Yaoyorozu both blushed before looking at each other and nodding before sighing.
“A-Actually, Kyo-chan and I have been in a relationship for a couple months now…” Yaoyorozu said quietly, but the girls heard her. The girls mostly all squealed in excitement and there were rounds of congratulations before Yaoyorozu spoke again. “We didn’t tell anyone because we didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable when we were together,” Yaoyorozu grimaced half heartedly.
“Can we move to the next person, please?” Jirou said quickly and everyone looked to Ashido. Before she could open her mouth, however, there was a loud banging on the door.
“Shut up in there! Some of us have better things to do!” Bakugou shouted from the other side of the door.
“Oh stuff it, Blasty!” Kagari said with a laugh.
“Bring it, witch!!” Bakugou yelled from the other side. Before he could break in, however, Kirishima started dragging him away, saying something about party crashing being unmanly.
“Jeez, Akko-chan! You really do have a death wish!” Midoriya said with a concerned look on her face.
“Nahhhh! I’m just really annoying...I just realized I’m acting like my mother...oh dear…” Kagari said the last part with wide eyes before she shuddered.
“Well, that was fun, but in terms of who I like...hmmm…” Ashido started before narrowing her eyes as she thought. “I guess Kaminari-kun is kinda cute, even if he is a bit of a dork,” she said with a bit of a shrug. Uraraka comments that they would be cute together. The party looked at Hagakure.
“I-I don’t like anyone at the m-moment” Hagakure stammered quickly and quietly.
“Mmmhmm! Sureee you don’t! Girl, I can see your blush through your invisibility!” Kagari teased her. Hagakure punched her in the arm telling her to shut up, to which Kagari just stuck her tongue out at her. “I personally am interested in someone at the moment, buuuuut I’d like to keep their identity a secret for now!” Kagari said with a smile and a shrug. There were some collective aww’s, and some pouting from Hagakure and Ashido, but the girls moved on to Midoriya.
Midoriya’s face goes red as she waves her hands in front of her in a panic. “I-I don’t like anyone r-right now!” Midoriya stammers.
“Are you suuuureee? I saw Todoroki-kun looking at you a lot recently,” Ashido prodded with a grin. Midoriya got even more red, which Kagari didn’t think was even possible.
“Ochaco-chan’s turn please!” Midoriya said quickly before looking down at her lap. Uraraka had been so busy watching Midoriya that she didn’t realize it was that close to her turn already. She panicked in the same way Midoriya did, also claiming she didn’t like anyone.
Hagakure smiled and leaned over to Kagari before saying, clearly loud enough for everyone to hear, “I totally ship it!” Hagakure and Kagari giggle as both Uraraka and Midoriya blushed like crazy, they stole a glance at each other and then they both looked at their laps in embarrassment.
“Now now, we should probably move on to something other than teasing each other,” Yaoyorozu interjected, crossing her arms.
“Ooh! I’ll be right back!” Kagari said before she quickly ran out of the room before anyone else could say anything. Midoriya just stared at the door confused. She blinked and Kagari was up and gone.
“Okay then…” Yaoyorozu started. “I’m not sure where she went, but we should still figure out what we should do.”
“Oh!! Let’s teach Izu-chan how to use makeup!” Ashido said cheerfully, clapping her hands together. Midoriya’s eyes widen in surprise as she flails her hands in front of her.
“N-No thanks!” She said quickly.
“Oh come on, Deku-chan! It’ll be fun! You should at least give it a try!” Uraraka said excitedly. As the girls tried to persuade Midoriya, Kagari came rushing back into the room, closing the door behind her.
“Alright! I got it!” Kagari said excitedly as she placed some device on a short bookcase that Yaoyorozu had. She turned what looked like two speakers attached to the device so they faced into the room.
“Ehm, what is that?” Hagakure asked, confused as to what exactly the device was.
“It was a christmas present from my mom!” Kagari said as she pulled out her phone and sat down. She typed some things into her phone and a holographic projection of a screen appeared above the device. “It’s a super small holographic projector! We can use it to watch tv or listen to music!” Kagari hit another button on her phone and music started playing at a not-too-loud volume as a picture of the UA Logo floated above the device.
“Oh yeah! Rock on, girl!” Ashido said as she threw her hands in the air.
“Wait, this is my song??” Jirou said, really confused.
“Yeah! My mom recorded our performance and made it into a single on my phone!” Kagari said excitedly, smiling brightly at her. Jirou couldn't help but blush and Yaoyorozu just hugged her with a smile as the other girls started doing the dance that Ashido had created. Midoriya was pulled up by Uraraka and the two started dancing together.
The next few hours are spent dancing to music, chatting, and teaching Midoriya how makeup works. She finally caved to both Uraraka and Kagari begging her. When they realized that it was getting late they all started getting ready for bed. After they helped Midoriya remove her makeup and they all brushed their teeth, the girls all fell asleep on Yaoyorozu’s floor. Yaoyorozu and Jirou share the bed, Kagari and Hagakare are sound asleep cuddling, and Urarka and Asui are sleeping next to Midoriya who was the last to fall asleep. She closed her eyes and smiled. Taking a deep breath, she drifted off to sleep.
Chapter 12: Eri-chan
Summary:
Izuku sees Eri-chan for the first time since the incident
Chapter Text
Midoriya was lying down on the floor on her back. She was the last one to wake up and Uraraka was poking her cheek with a relatively normal expression. Midoriya blinked her eyes open and when she saw Uraraka right above her, smiling, she started blushing like crazy. Uraraka realized what she was doing and fell on to her butt as she also started blushing. After a moment they both looked at each other before they started laughing.
After the two head to their separate rooms and change into actual clothes, they both head down to the kitchen. Yaoyorozu and Sato are making breakfast for everyone and Midoriya sits down at the counter after being handed a plate by Kagari. As Midoriya ate, she looked over to see Bakugou stuffing his face and she couldn’t help but giggle, earning her a scowl from him.
Todoroki looked over at Midoriya and she gave him a warm smile. “Good morning, Todoroki-kun!” she said, smiling brightly.
“Good morning, Midoriya-chan,” he said, his voice having a little more emotion than usual as he gave her a small smile before returning to eating.
“Why the fuck can’t we eat banana peals?” Kaminari asked, mainly to himself as he held an opened banana in his band. He took a huge bite of the peel before spitting it out with a gag. “...Okay I get it…” he said as he stuck his tongue out in disgust, earning some giggles and laughs from everyone else at the table.
“Spark-plug you idiot!” Bakugou howled a laugh.
“Izu-chan, what do you have planned for the weekend?” Asui asked from across the table. Midoriya looked down at her plate, thinking to herself for a moment.
“I’m not sure...I was thinking may-” she was cut off by the doorbell going off. Most of the class turned to look at the door. Kirishima had already finished eating so he jogged over to the door to open it. Togata was standing on the other side with a big smile.
“Mirio, my dude, come on in!” Kirishima gestured and he entered. Midoriya put her dish in the sink and jogged over to see Togata.
“Mirio-kun! Hey! What are you doing here?” she asked with a smile as she stopped in front of Togata.
“Hey! I am so sorry for not coming to check in on you sooner!” Togata said as he slouched a little, looking ashamed.
“It’s no worries! The semester just started so I completely understand!” she said with a bright smile, bringing back Togata’s own smile.
“I’m going to see Eri-chan today! Do you want to join me?” Togata asked back to his old cheery self.
“Of course!” she started before looking down at herself and frowning. “Oh wait...she probably won’t recognize me…” she looked sad.
“No way! I know Eri-chan will recognize you!” Togata said, his smile not leaving his face for a moment. Midoriya looked up at him and nodded with a determined smile and the two headed off after Midoriya got her coat and shoes on.
A few minutes later Togata and Midoriya arrive at the teacher’s dorm where Eri is staying. Once they reached the room they knocked on the door, hearing Aizawa tell them to come in from the other side, they entered.
“Hey, Eri-chan!” Togata said with a large smile. Eri ran up to Midoriya and Togata with a big smile as they both knelt down to hug her. When they stopped hugging and Eri stepped back, she was smiling brightly, but then looked really confused.
“Deku-san you look different?” Eri said as she tilted her head in confusion.
“Uh..yeah,” Midoriya scratched the back of her head. “I...had an accident, so now I’m a girl...like you!” Midoriya gave her a bright smile to try and comfort her.
“I brought some supplies, Eri-chan! How about we make candy apples today!” Togata said, showing her the bag he had in his hand. Eri smiled brightly and nodded her head quickly.
“Yes please, Lemillion-san!”
Midoriya took Eri’s hand and the three of them walked over to the kitchen area.
“Eri-chan, can you help me put the sticks in the apples?” Midoriya asked with a smile. Eri nodded excitedly and the two worked together to put the sticks in the apples while Togata added the ingredients to the saucepan and began to cook the mixture.
Once the apples all had a stick in them, Eri and Midoriya mixed together water and a small amount of vinegar so they could remove the waxy layer off the apples skin.
“Be careful, Eri-chan. Let me dip the apples in the mixture, you just be ready with a towel, okay?” Midoriya said as she grabbed the first of the four apples they had. When Eri nodded with a determined smile, Midoriya submerged the first apple in the water and vinegar solution. She and Eri counted together for five seconds before she removed the apple from the solution and placed it into the towel that Eri was holding. Eri quickly enclosed the towel around the apple.
“Good job, Eri-chan!” Togata said with a smile. Eri giggled with glee as Midoriya placed the apple back on the other towel that the apples were on and grabbed a second apple. Midoriya and Eri continued the process for the next three apples, and by the time they had finished, the candy sauce had finished cooking.
As Togata stirred the red food coloring into the sauce, Midoriya moved Eri’s stool so that she could stand up next to where the sauce was. When Togata had finished, Midoriya moved the four dewaxed apples over to be next to the saucepan.
“Alright, Eri-chan, be very careful, the sauce is very hot!” Togata said as he guided her hands to pick up one of the apples. “Just place it in the sauce and twist the stick until the apple is completely covered!” Eri did as she was told, as Togata and Midoriy supervised. Eri was having a lot of fun making her favorite treat. Once the apple was fully covered, Midoriya took it and placed it on a cookie sheet as Togata handed Eri the next apple.
A couple minutes later, Eri was washing her hands in the bathroom as Midoriya and Togata washed their hands in the kitchen sink.
“I am so proud of her,” Togata said quietly with a smile.
“Me too! She has come so far in such a short time! Her smile makes me melt, I swear,” Midoriya responded with a small laugh. Eri came back into the kitchen and the three of them cleaned up after themselves as they waited for the apples to cool.
With the apples finally cooled, the trio sat down on the couch with their treats. The fourth apple being wrapped up for later. Eri took small bites out of her treat with a nom .
A couple hours later, Aizawa returned to the room. When he entered, Eri ran up to him excitedly.
“Dadzawa!” she said as she hugged him. Midoriya couldn’t help but giggle, earning her a glare from Aizawa. “Guess what we made! We made candy apples! They were so good! We made them ourselves and everything!”
“Oh, is that so?” Aizawa said before looking up at Midoriya and Togata. “Did you have to give her so much sugar?” Aizawa asked, trying to hide his smile behind his capture weapon.
“Sorry, Aizawa-sensei,” Midoriya said, scratching the back of her neck. “We just wanted to give her a treat!” Aizawa just sighed, remembering back to Christmas when Eri had eaten a little too much candy. Togata and Midoriya said goodbye to Eri and Aizawa and headed back towards Midoriya’s dorm.
Arriving at Midoriya’s dorm, Togata spoke to her one last time. “Midoriya-chan, I just wanted to say that I think you’re doing really well considering what happened. I’m glad to see it hasn’t dimmed your smile!” Midoriya just smiled awkwardly and thanked him before heading inside.

Chapter Text
As Midoriya walked in she could see Kagari walking towards the stairs. She flashed Midoriya a quick smile. Midoriya jogged over to her and the two of them took the stairs up.
“Hey, want to do some sparring without quirks as some training?” Kagari asked as they reached her floor.
“Yeah! Sounds good! I’ll meet you in the common room in a couple minutes,” Midoriya said with a smile. The two parted ways and Midoriya continued up to her floor. Entering her room, she stretched a little as she took off her clothes and grabbed what few other clothes she had.
It didn’t take her too long to get ready, and after that she jogged down the stairs to see Kagari setting up a large mat in the common room.
“Where did you get that?” Midoriya asked as she plopped herself down on the floor and began to stretch.
“My room, I keep a mat in my room specifically for situations like this!” Kagari said, smiling brightly as she pushed the mat so that it was parallel with the wall. She joined Midoriya on the floor and the two stretched for a bit before they headed on to the mat. “This is quirkless sparring, by the way,” Kagari said it in such a way that made it seem like something obvious that didn’t need to be said. (She forgot she already said that)
They start sparring. Midoriya is barely keeping up with Kagari, and it is clear Kagari is holding back for her. Kagari jumped and spinned a little as she threw a kick at Midoriya’s head which she dodged narrowly. Midoriya wasn’t prepared for Kagari to use her momentum to kick with her other leg and so she took a foot to the side. She winced in pain as Kagari threw a punch at her which she managed to block.
“Hey, Deku-chan, Akko-chan! What are you guys doing?” Uraraka called as she jogged over to them. Midoriya looked over at Uraraka to greet her, and Kagari took that opportunity to swipe Midoriya’s legs out from under her, causing her to hit the mat with a thud. Uraraka winced as she saw this.
“The battlefield will always have distractions. It is your job to acknowledge them, but not let them take your guard down,” Kagari said as she offered Midoriya a hand up. She accepted and wobbled to her feet.
“Wow! Akko-chan, I know I’ve seen it before, but I sometimes forget how good you are at hand-to-hand combat,” Uraraka said with her mouth slightly open.
“I mean, I’ve been training since before I got my quirk. Regardless of my quirk, my mom wanted me to be able to defend myself,” Kagari said, catching her breath. “You want to join us?” Uraraka nodded excitedly and left to go put on some athletic clothes, returning a few minutes later.
Uraraka and Kagari sparred. Kagari was surprised at how well Uraraka was able to keep up with her. She was using this more as a way to teach her friends what she knows than to actually ‘win’.
Some of the other students come by and some of them join in the sparring, both with Kagari and with each other. There is only one mat, however, so only one match can happen at a time. Kagari threw out pointers as her friends sparred.
“Please stop this!” Iida said, catching everyone’s attention. “This is dangerous and someone could get hurt!”
“This is quirkless sparring, Iida-kun. Regardless of one’s quirk, hand-to-hand combat is an essential skill for a hero. There are instances where our quirks won’t help and in those instances, having skills that do not rely on them will only make us better heroes in the long run,” Kagari said in a voice that reminded Midoriya of how Ms. Terra taught.
“I suppose you are right…” Iida finally said with a sigh.
“Hey, blasty,” Kagari called out to Bakugou as he was walking by. “I want a rematch from the sport’s festival.” She looked right at him with a raised eyebrow before adding, “No quirks”.
“This ain’t worth my time,” he said before he started to walk away. Iida scoffed a little at Bakugou’s rudeness. He really should be used to it by now.
“I get it, blasty, you don’t think you can take me without your quirk,” Kagari said with a smirk as she raised her hands up and took a step back.
“Akko-chan!” Midoriya hissed at her.
“I can take you without my quirk, easily, witch!” Bakugou shouted as he stomped his way over to the mat. Kagari just smirked and gestured for him to come at her and he did.
Bakugou lunged at her, aiming for her stomach with his right hand. Kagari quickly jumped around his hand, punching him in the shoulder as she did so. Her hands were immediately up on guard by the time she had regained her balance. Bakugou swung around and threw another punch, which Kagari blocked. She threw her own punch and he managed to block it. They go back and forth, throwing punches and blocking them.
Kagari went for a kick and Bakugou grabbed her leg. She used her free leg to jump up and in the same motion she grabbed Bakugou’s head with both hands and slammed it down onto her knee. She used the momentum of the recoil to pull Bakugou down as his grip on her leg loosened. They both hit the mat, but Kagari springged off of it and was on top of Bakugou in the blink of an eye as she twisted his arm so he couldn’t move.
“Kagari-san! I think that’s enough!” Iida said sternly. She let go and got off of Bakugou who growled.
“You have some really good skills, blasty. Not a terrible application of them either,” Kagari said as she wiped some sweat from her forehead. “Your general speed could use a boost, but besides that, you’re a pretty good fighter.” She smiled and offered him a hand, but he swatted it away and stood up on his own power. She just shrugged and he grumbled as he pushed past his classmates. Her classmates are just a little slack jawed at their fight as Kirishima jogged after his friend.
“What?” Kagari asked, tilting her head to the side in confusion.
“I knew you had a death wish, but...jeez” Midoriya muttered to herself causing Kagari to giggle a little. Kagari felt a hand chop her on her head and she muttered an ‘ow’ as she looked to see Hagakure standing next to her with her hands on her hips.
“Akko-chan, maybe don’t tease the guy most likely to literally blow up?” Hagakure sighed as she rubbed her forehead with the palm of her hand. Kagari just stuck her tongue out at Hagakure. When Hagakure frowned at that, Kagari just booped her on the nose.
“Careful! You might poke her eye out!” Sero said worriedly.
“Don’t worry, I can see her face well enough to not hit her eye,” Kagari said nonchalantly. The class stared at her with shock. “What?”
“Y-You can see me??” Hagakure stuttered in confusion. Kagari just shrugged.
“Not exactly. I can use my quirk sort of in an echolocation way. So if I concentrate I can sort of ‘feel’ what you look like. Haven’t you wondered how I usually know what expression you’re making?” Hagakure is speechless, but Midoriya started muttering about the possible uses of a telekinetic echolocation. Kagari leans in to Hagakure’s ear and whispers something that no one else can hear. “You’re beautiful, by the way,” Kagari whispered to her before smiling as she leaned back.
The class dispersed after that. Kagari folded her mat up as best she could and started dragging it towards the stairwell. Hagakure had run up to her room as soon as she stopped being frozen. Midoriya was chatting with Uraraka.
“Oh, Ochako-chan, do you know what stores are good for getting some better clothes?” Midoriya asked, almost immediately regretting asking that question due to Uraraka’s reaction.
“Yes! Oh! We should go shopping together! I know the perfect places to get these really cute outfits and-” Uraraka starts bubbling before she’s interrupted by Ashido.
“Oh! You two are going on a shopping trip! Sounds like fun!” Ashido said cheerfully.
“N-No I-I just needed suggestions n-not people to go with!” Midoriya stammered as she waved her hands in front of her frantically.
“Come on, Deku-chan! It’ll be so much fun!” Uraraka said with puppy dog eyes.
“Ooh! We should have a girl’s trip to the mall!” Ashido said excitedly. Midoriya just hung her head, she didn’t have the energy to argue with them anymore.
“Fineeeee,” Midoriya relented. Ashido and Uraraka jumped up and down in excitement.
Midoriya headed upstairs after Uraraka and Ashido finally stopped hounding her. She lied down on her bed with a yawn. “I’ll just take a little nap before dinner,” she thought as she yawned again.

Oh my gosh thank you all for the kudos and comments! Over 1000 hits is insane!! <3
Chapter 14: The Mall
Summary:
Midoriya and class 1A head to a mall again
Chapter Text
In the morning Midoriya walked down the stairs, stretching. She greeted her classmates as she sleepily ate breakfast. She had slept through dinner last night so she was really hungry. Her friends just chatted while they ate.
“So, what time were we planning on heading to the mall?” Jirou asked as she finished her breakfast and stood up.
“You guys are going to the mall??” Kaminari said loudly in surprise.
“It’s too early for shouting, Kaminari,” Kagari said with a yawn and a stretch.
“Yeah, we’re gonna head to the mall! Izu-chan needs some cuter clothes!” Ashido said with a smile, thankfully keeping her voice quieter than Kaminari’s. “Do you guys wanna come too?”
“Yes!...But I don’t wanna shop for clothes,” Kaminari said, shaking his head.
“We can go to other stores and meet up with the girls for lunch!” Kirishima said and Kaminari agreed. Some of the other guys agreed to go as well, although Todoroki didn’t look the most thrilled about it. “What about you, Todoroki?”
“Last time we went to a mall, Midoriya-chan was attacked…” Todoroki said without looking up. The class was silent for a moment.
“Well, we aren’t going to leave her side this time!” Kagari said, offering Midoriya a bright smile. It did make her feel a little better.
“Don’t worry, Todoroki-kun. I’ll be safe this time,” Midoriya offered Todoroki a smile and he simply nodded. Once the dishes are all cleaned, the class all head to get ready for their trip to the mall.
Arriving at the mall, the guys waved to the girls as they walked to separate parts of the mall.
“So, where are we go-ah!” Midoriya started, but was interrupted when Ashido grabbed her by the arm and dragged her into a nearby store. The other girls followed just after. Midoriya is a little disoriented as the girls grab different clothing items and basically throw them at her. Finally they all go to the dressing room.
“Go put it on, Izu-chan!” Ashido said excitedly. Midoriya groaned, but complied. She was really starting to regret asking for their help. She pulled up the skirt and buttoned the blouse before pulling on the long socks. She sighed before coming out of the stall to see her friends.
“Ooh! That’s so cute!” Kagari cheered. Midoriya turned to look in the mirror behind her. She tilted her head as she realized that Kagari was right, it did look kinda cute. Soon, however, she is pushed back into the stall with another outfit. Over the course of the next hour or so, Midoriya tries on a lot of different outfits and styles. She slowly comes to like shopping. It isn’t as boring as she had assumed it would be, as boring as it used to be. She didn’t really have enough money to buy too many things, but Kagari forced her to let her pay for some of the clothes. A ‘late christmas present’ she called it.
“Heyo!” Kirishima yelled with a wave as the two groups met up at the food court.
“How’d you guys make out?” Kaminari asked.
“Great! Got a bunch of cute outfits for Deku-chan!” Kagari said with a smile. Midoriya blushed and looked at the ground.
“What are we gonna eat! I’m starving!” Ashido said with a whine. Kagari gasped loudly as she looked over at one of the pastry shops. All her friends look at her with a confused look as she points with her mouth open wide.
“They have mochi!” Kagari said in a half whisper. Hagakure laughs and some of her other friends sigh in relief, they were worried something bad was happening.
“You gotta wait until you eat actual food, Akko-chan!” Hagakure said as she started to drag Kagari away from the pastry shop. She whined and pouted, but eventually gave in and bought some actual food first. Midoriya just giggled at her friend's reaction to the treat.
“Todoroki-kun, do you eat anything besides soba?” Kagari said with a giggle after they had all sat down with their food. Todoroki just looks at her and tilts his head in confusion.
“I don’t understand, I eat a lot of different kinds of food,” he said. Midoriya laughed and put a hand on his shoulder as she was sitting next to him.
“She’s just giving you a hard time, don’t worry about it!” Midoriya said, smiling at Todoroki before giving a half hearted glare to Kagari. She just stuck her tongue out at Midoriya till Hagakure playfully hit her on the arm and told her to stop teasing.
“How do you all think the training exercise is going to go?” Yaoyorozu asked, trying to change the subject.
“It’s gonna be so much fun to go against 1B! We haven’t done anything with them since the summer camp!” Ashido said excitedly.
“Yeah! I bet we can beat 'em though!” Sero said, making a fist in front of him.
“Yeah! Class 1A for the win!” Uraraka said excitedly, punching the air above her.
“Ochan if you start doing the ‘class 1A’ dance from the license exam, imma riot,” Kagari said laughing. The rest of them joined in laughing as well, Todoroki even gave a small smile.
“Oh shush, you! You danced too!” Uraraka said, pointing a finger at Kagari.
“Excuse you! That is slander and not true!” Kagari was barely able to say in between her laughs. Midoriya just shook her head in amusement.
“I gotta ask, what is it with you and mochi?” Jirou asked Kagari, sitting up straighter from leaning on Yaoyorozu.
“It’s so goooooood!! It’s my favourite thing ever!” Kagari said excitedly before leaning in to whisper something to Hagakure who immediately blushed and hit her on the arm.
“Quiet, you!” Hagakure said before facepalming. Kagari just giggled mischievously and the class went back to eating.
The class finished up their food and some of them bought some snacks for the train ride home. Kagari got some mochi which Hagakure had to stop her from eating while they walked back towards the train.
“But Toru-channnn!” Kagari whined. She couldn’t help but giggle at Kagari’s pouting which made her blush and turn away.
The train ride home was uneventful. Once they arrived back home, Midoriya walked up to her room with her new bags of clothes. Putting away all the clothes wasn’t too difficult as she didn’t have many clothes to begin with.
She changes into a more comfortable t-shirt and shorts before she sits down at her desk to work on some homework. There was a knock on her door an hour or so into working on homework.
“Come in!” Midoriya shouted from her desk as she stood up and walked towards the door. Uraraka opened the door and walked in looking a little guilty. Midoriya tilted her head in confusion. “What’s up, Ochaco-chan?”
“I-I just wanted to apologize,” Uraraka said, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly. “I shouldn’t have dragged myself along when you just wanted to go shopping by yourself and then suddenly the whole class was coming and you just wanted to be alone an-” she was cut off by Midoriya pulling her into a hug. Uraraka’s eyes widened in surprise for a moment before she hugged her friend back.
“You have nothing to apologize for,” Midoriya said, leaning back from the hug a little bit. “Yeah, at first I did just want to go by myself, but I had a lot fun and got to spend time with my friends. It helped me feel a bit more normal with this whole crazy situation, so thank you for that.” Midoriya smiled at her friend. Uraraka nods a little before smiling and looking up at her friend. After a moment both their eyes widen and they look away with a blush, quickly letting go.
“Either way,” Midoriya started, turning back to look at her friend. “Good luck in the joint training tomorrow!” Uraraka turned around and smiled with a determined nod.
“You too!” she said before turning around and walking out of Midoriya’s room. Once the door is closed they both sigh again. “Ughhhh, Deku-chan is working so hard to be a hero and I am just distracting her…” she thinks to herself before shaking her head. “I...I need to stop this...or at least talk to someone…”
Midoriya spends the next couple hours working on homework and keeping herself busy, trying not to let her mind wander too much. Eventually she gets ready for bed. Her feelings for Uraraka, because she definitely has feelings for her, are really starting to weigh on her. She doesn’t know what she is supposed to do. “I...really should talk to someone about this…” she thinks as she closes her eyes and drifts off to sleep.

Chapter Text
Midoriya woke up with a yawn, silencing her alarm. She smiled. “Today’s the day!” she thought before she got up and pulled on a sweatshirt. She headed down to the kitchen where some of the class is already up.
“...and besides that, I know 1B has some good fighters! They have an asshole or two, yeah, but I mean we have our own angry pomeranian so it works out!” Kagari said with a giggle, earning her a glare from Bakugou. She just responded by sticking her tongue out at him slightly before she was lightly hit by a yawning Hagakure.
“It’s too early for your shenanigans, Akko,” Hagakure said sleepily. Kagari just shrugged and continued cooking. Hagakure put some food on her plate and sat down at one of the tables. Midoriya walked over to Kagari to get herself some food as well.
“Whatcha makin?” Midoriya asked as she looked over Kagari’s shoulder.
“American style breakfast. We got scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, hash brown, and pancakes. Mom even gave me some syrup yesterday so you can have that for the pancakes as well,” Kagari said with a smile. Offering a quick look to Midoriya before she went back to flipping the pancakes. Midoriya took a little bit of everything and sat down with Asui and Iida.
“Morning, Tsu-chan, Iida-kun,” Midoriya said as she sat down and began to dig in. Asui offered her a nod as her mouth was full. Iida greeted her with a smile. Uraraka joined them a couple minutes later.
“Morning, Deku-chan!” Uraraka said with a bright smile. Midoriya offered back a smile as well. “You guys excited?”
“It won’t be easy, but I think we can do well, ribbit ,” Asui said with a nod.
“Agreed, Class 1B will be formidable opponents to be sure. We must be careful not to underestimate them,” Iida added, nodding.
“We got this! Class 1A is the best!” Uraraka cheered. Midoriya giggled a little at her, causing Uraraka to blush and look down, trying to hide her face.
“Always good to not underestimate an opponent,” Kagari said as she sat down next to Hagakure, having finished cooking. Iida nodded in approval.
The rest of the class eventually filed in and out. With people leaving once they had finished eating. After Midoriya washed her dish, she headed back up to her room to put her uniform on. She grabbed her back pack and took a deep breath before she headed downstairs and out the door towards class.
“How are you, Midoriya-kun?” Terra asked when Midoriya entered her office.
“I...I’m doing quite well,” Midoriya said with a smile as she walked over and sat on the little couch Terra had in her office. “Things are really starting to feel normal now. Feeling less and less like an outsider.”
“I am quite happy to hear that,” Terra said with a smile. “Are you excited for the training exercise today?” Midoriya’s eyes lit up as soon as she said that.
“Yes! It is going to be really amazing to really see all their quirks in action! I haven’t seen most of their quirks before so it’ll be really cool to see how they use them! Especially after almost a year of Hero Studies. It will be interesting to fight them because they likely know a lot more about our quirks than we know about theirs given the sports festival and everything. I suppose we did see some of their quirks in action at the summer camp, but I was focusing more on myself and-” Midoriya said excitedly before she realized she was rambling and slammed her mouth shut. “Sorry for rambling!” She looked down embarrassed.
Terra frowned a little at that last comment. “Let’s talk about that, actually,” She said to Midoriya, trying to give a stern, yet concerned expression. Midoriya looked up at her, confused. “I have noticed that you often cut yourself off when you mumble or ramble. You had been doing a little better, Akko tells me, but after the incident you started struggling again. Why do you apologize when you mumble or ramble?” Terra asked as she gave her a reassuring look. Midoriya looked at her lap, embarrassed.
“Because, it’s creepy and annoying,” she said almost too quietly to be heard. Luckily, Terra had very good hearing.
“I don’t think it’s creepy,” she said matter-of-factly, giving her a smile. Midoriya looked up at her, surprised. “Brains are complicated. They are capable of many things, however, they do have finite space. Mumbling is an activity that makes a lot of sense if your brain is thinking very fast. You will naturally speak slower than you think, so by saying the words out loud, you give yourself more time to properly process the thought.” Midoriya looked quite confused on how mumbling can be a good thing. “As for rambling, it is just a sign that you are excited about a topic. One again, there is nothing wrong with that. The only concern I could have is your mumbling giving away your location during a stealth mission, but that is an easy issue fix.”
“It is? I don’t understand…” Midoriya said. She didn’t quite understand what Terra was going on about. She seemed to be contradicting herself. How could mumbling be a good thing, but also something that needed to be fixed?
“Of course, it’s simple,” she started. “We simply need to change your mask. You always have it with your costume, but I don’t think I’ve seen you wear it since I watched the first hero training exercise footage. All we need to do is put a microphone on the inside and make the mask sound canceling. With that, you will be able to mumble as much as you need without villains over hearing you.” Midoriya stared at her in shock.
“In fact, we could work on making your mumbling more understandable. That way, during a mission, you can dictate your thoughts to your comrades. Which reminds me, you had mentioned being excited about 1B’s quirks. Have you always been interested in quirks?” Terra asked, cocking her head to the side a little.
“U-um, y-yeah,” Midoriya said before taking a deep breath to calm herself. “I have been analyzing heroes and quirks for a while now, I-” she stopped herself before she remembered. “Oh right, Ms. Terra-sensei already knows…” . “I studied them in hopes that it would help me be a hero despite being quirkless...I haven’t kept up with it as much since I was given One For All. It wasn’t very good anyways…” She looked down at her lap again, a little ashamed and a little sad.
“Hmm, yes, Akko told me you sometimes write in a notebook. She said the title was something like ‘Quirk Analysis’ and then a number? Do you have it with you? I would love to take a look,” Terra said with a smile as Midoriya looked up at her in shock. She slowly reached into her bag and pulled out a notebook before shakily handing it to Terra. It read ‘Quirk Analysis for the future No.15’. Terra opened the book and began to silently read through it, her eyes widening a little with each page. Midoriya looked very nervous and fidgeted around, hoping for the session to end soon so she could stop feeling so embarrassed.
“Bloody hell…” Terra said in english under her breath. Midoriya looked up at her, confused. “It’s formatting isn’t that good, but the analysis itself is remarkable,” she said, shaking her head before she closed the book and handed it to Midoriya, who stared at her with wide eyes. Terra looked down at her watch and realized they were almost at time. “Alright, here’s what I want you to do for me,” she said, giving Midoriya a reassuring smile. “I want you to make three full analyses,” she held up three fingers. “One of myself, one of Akko, and one of Aizawa-san. Format it in the most organized way you can and just throw your heart into it. I want to see what you are truly capable of before I see where you can improve. That’ll be your homework for our next session.”
Midoriya stared at her, dumb founded. “B-but...it-it’s just ramblings…” Midoriya stammered. Terra just gave her a look that reminded her of her mother’s.
“None of that, young lady. Just do your best, your analyses are not creepy and they are actually quite good in my opinion. Now, run along to your next class,” Terra gave Midoriya a reassuring smile as she nodded shakily before stuffing her notebook back into her backpack and ran out the door after bowing. “Aizawa was right, she really is a problem child” Terra chuckled to herself.
Midoriya and the rest of her class quickly walked to the locker rooms. Aizawa had just told them to get changed as it was time for the training exercise. The class was buzzing with excitement. They entered the locker room and started getting dressed, quickly.
“Yes!” Hagakure said from her locker as she opened her costume case, there didn’t seem to be much of anything in it. “My new costume!” Midoriya grabbed her boots and gloves before moving over to Hagakure to see what her new costume was like. She couldn’t see anything except for the indentations where the different parts were stored.
“Nice! Now you don’t have to be naked all the time!” Kagari grinned. Hagakure swatted at her, but she dodged and stuck her tongue out.
“You managed to get costume pieces that were invisible like you?” Midoriya asked as she pulled her shoes on.
“Yeah! Akko suggested having my DNA infused with the costume so that it would all be invisible and I wouldn’t have to worry about the cold as much. Powerloader-sensei even got me these super quiet boots that are even quieter than my bare feet!” Hagakure beamed as she started pulling on the costume.
“Yeah, the boots and the costume in general are designed to make almost no noise. There is also a bright cape with a magnetic clasp, so her allies can see where she is, but she can take it off when she needs to,” Kagari added with a smile. “The suit itself includes a temperature regulation system my mother invented. Should keep her cool in the summer and more importantly, will keep her from freezing to death in the winter.” Midoriya nodded, smiling in return. She started thinking about how useful it would be to not have to be naked for her quirk to properly work. She didn’t notice she was mumbling as the girls finished getting dressed into their winter costumes. Kagari just smiled at her endearingly.
“Well if it isn’t class 1A” Monoma said with a smirk once they arrived at ground gamma. “1B has been training harder than you and we will easily beat you regardless of-,” he is cut off by Aizawa who silences him with a quirk enhanced glare.
“Enough. Now, this is Shinsou Nagi. She will be joining this exercise as a guest,” Aizawa said as he stood next to Vlad King. He gestured to the purple haired girl. She was wearing a PE outfit, some sort of face mask, and was equipped with Aizawa’s capture weapon. Her hair was tied into a ponytail “The rules of this exercise are simple. You will be in teams of four. Your goal will be to capture all members of the opposing team and transport them to the holding cells. There is a twenty minute time limit. If all members of a team have not been captured by the time the twenty minutes is up, whoever has the most captures wins. Captures do not count unless they are in the holding cell. Once in the holding cell they can not be released. You will draw lots to determine what team you will be on. Shinsou will be with class 1A for the first round and class 1B for the final round.” Aizawa finished, holding up a box with an A on the side. Vlad King had a box with a B on it.
The classes picked their lots and got into their groups. The screen displayed the names of the first round. Class 1A: Red Riot, Chargebolt, Anima, Froppy, and Shinsou. Class 1B: Vine, Gevauden, Dragon Shroud, and Tsubaraba. The two teams follow Midnight to the main ground as the rest of the class stays to watch.

Chapter Text
Midoriya, Uraraka, Kagari, and Ashido stand together and watch their class fight, cheering them on. Midoriya mumbles as she watches the fight, thinking to herself of some of the ways class 1B could improve their quirk use. Some members of 1B hear her and give her dirty looks. She doesn’t notice them, but Kagari does. She gives them a glare she learned from her mother and they back off. By the time it was time for Midoriya’s team, class 1A had won twice and 1B once. There was one round that was a draw with both teams only capturing one person.
Finally, their names appeared on the board and they headed out the battle ground. Class 1A: Mystic, Pinky, Uravity, and Deku. Class 1B: Phantom Thief, Rule, Mines, Emily, and Shinsou.
As they hurry towards their starting point, they discuss their plan of action. “We are at a bit of a disadvantage in this fight. 1B has quite a few people on their team with long ranged attacks, whereas we only have two,” Midoriya said as they entered their side of the battle ground. Her teammates nodded at her.
“We can do this though!” Ashido yelled. Uraraka joined her in her exclamation.
“At the very least, Akko-chan’s telekinetic abilities are far stronger than Yanagi-san’s,” Midoriya added.
“True, but she is still a very capable fighter, and combined with Kodai-san they have a very powerful attack,” Kagari added before doing some final stretches. Midoriya nodded, jogging in place a little.
“Also, Shinsou’s quirk is one we need to be careful of. It is likely that Monoma will copy it meaning we will have two people with brainwashing quirks to be careful of. Her quirk works by taking control of you if you respond to any question she asks,” Midoriya said looking at her teammates.
“Then we shouldn’t talk at all during this battle,” Uraraka added with a nod.
“Which means we need to come up with a plan beforehand,” Ashido said as she thought. “We should try and catch them off guard with a trap.” Midoriya nods at her suggestion.
“That’s a good idea. I’ll be the decoy and run ahead,” Midoriya said. Her team gives her some weary looks. “Because of my quirk, they are most likely going to target me first to get me out of the running. I am the best choice for a decoy.”
“Set? Begin!” they hear Midnight’s voice come out of the PA system. Midoriya activates One For All and leaps out in front of her team. Her team moves together off to the side, but still following roughly the same direction as Midoriya.
Midoriya runs along one of the industrial pipes before she hears Uraraka scream from her left side. Midoriya is startled and jumps off the pipe and towards the direction of the scream. “They shouldn’t be that far ahead yet…” she thinks as she runs across the top of one of the industrial buildings. Midoriya catches sight of Monoma who smirks at her. He’s wearing Shinsou’s voice changer.
“Oh, look at you, think you can take us all by yourself? Shame you left your team so vulnerable!” he cackles. Midoriya narrows her eyes, but stays silent. She launches herself in his direction, but he manages to dodge at the last second. “Tell me, how can Bakugou smile knowing he’s the one that destroyed the symbol of peace??” Monoma yells at her. She grits her teeth in anger. Instead of responding she activates her gauntlets. Delaware Smash Air Force!
1B finds Kagari, Uraraka, and Ashido. Yanagi launches a lot of small projectiles down at them. Kodai puts her fingers together and the small projectiles expand into massive ones.
“Maximum strength and viscosity! Acid veil!” Ashido shouts as she fires her acid to destroy some of the objects as she dodges. Uraraka manages to touch a few of them making them weightless. Kagari uses her telekinesis to stop the rest of them. She falls to one knee as she grunts and launches them all back with a yell. The large projectiles rain down on Yanagi and Kodai who run to escape the bombardment. Kagari catches her breath for a moment and shakes her head.
“You okay, Akko?” Ashido asks as she runs over and helps Kagari up. Kagari just nods and they take off after 1B.
Midoriya launches four bursts of wind pressure at the same time. Monoma barely manages to dodge as he jumps onto a floating nut and tries to escape. Midoriya chases after him and launches more Air Force attacks at him. The third attempt he finally gets hit. He falls off the nut and Midoriya jumps after him to stop him from getting hurt from the fall. However, Shinsou manages to grab and pull Monoma to safety.
Midoriya is still in the air, trying to land on an incoming pipe when Shinsou wraps her capture weapon around Midoriya’s leg and tries to pull her towards her. Midoriya bends down and grabs the capture weapon before spinning herself in midair, slamming Shinsou into the wall she was standing next to. Midoriya loosens the capture weapon around her as Uraraka all but tackles her out of the air and the two land on one of the roofs.
Midoriya and Uraraka catch their breaths on the roof of the building. Seeing an opportunity, Monoma rushes at Midoriya from behind, riding a giant nut. He knocks over Midoriya and grabs her wrist while trying to copy her quirk. Midoriya somersaults and kicks Monoma off her and Uraraka tries to grab him, but is stopped by Yanagi who uses her quirk to pelt Uraraka with projectiles. Uraraka is hit a couple times, but manages to start blocking and dodging. Shinsou sends her capture weapon flying at Uraraka, but Midoriya jumps in front and grabs it.
Ashido uses her Acid Shot attack, aiming at the majority of 1B. Kodai uses an enlarged sheet of metal to stop the attack from hitting any of them. Shouda bounces a slightly enlarged projectile off the ground and uses his quirk to double its velocity as it flies towards Ashido. Kagari moves in front of Ashido and swings her fist at the incoming projectile. She grits her teeth, her eyes glow purple, and her hair rises off of her head as her telekinetic enhanced punch hits the incoming projectile. It was moving so fast that it nearly touched Kagari’s fist before her Psychic Punch sent it flying back towards the enlarged piece of metal at an increased velocity. It hits the sheet with enough force to imbed it into it, almost breaking through and pushing the sheet back.
Monoma throws a projectile at Uraraka and Midoriya, but Uraraka blocks it with her wrist guard. Midoriya yanks on the capture weapon and charges at Shinsou. Monoma attempts to activate One For All, but it doesn’t work. Uraraka takes the chance to jump at Monoma. He attempts to throw a punch at her in a panic as she has gotten close. She sidesteps the punch and grabs his wrist, twisting it back as she hooks her shin on his ankle and slams him into the ground. Midoriya swings her right leg in a high kick as Shinsou tries to taunt her, but she ignores her attempts. Shinsou dodges the kick, but Midoriya uses the momentum to swing her other leg down, hitting Shinsou hard in the shoulder.
Uraraka has tied up Monama and has floated him as she runs towards the holding cell. He uses Yanagi’s quirk to cause a pipe to go flying at Uraraka. She dodges it easily before looking at the watches on Monoma’s costume. She realizes it’s probably been five minutes so he might not have all the quirks anymore.
“Oh I get it. You think I ran out of time already. I may not be able to train my quirk as much as you can, but at least I’m not as stupid as Midoriya!” Monoma taunts with a smirk. Uraraka opens her mouth to respond, but catches herself and slams her mouth shut. Monoma’s smirk fades a little and before he can say anything else, Uraraka slams him onto the ground before she continues running him to the holding cell.
Shouda hits Ashido in the gut with a quirk enhanced punch when she turns slightly to defend against one of Kodai’s attacks. Yanagi follows up by raining down a large number of metal projectiles, but Kagari wraps her arms around herself before swinging them out wide. “Shockwave!” she yells as she blasts all of the projectiles back. Unfortunately, Midoriya gets hit by the shockwave and is knocked over. Shinsou tries to capitalize on this and throws her capture weapon at Midoriya, but she rolls off the roof before it can grab her.
Uraraka subdues Shouda with a chop to the neck and slams him on to the ground as Kagari launches herself at Kodai. She throws psychic kicks at Kodai who tries to use her quirk, but Kagari uses her quirk to pull Kodai’s hands apart before they can touch, ending their skirmish with a swift upwards kick to the underjaw. At the same time, Yanagi attempts to throw sharp metal projectiles at Kagari, but Ashido takes the opportunity to grab her from behind and push her back, ending with an uppercut to Yanagi. Shinsou wraps her capture weapon around Midoriya’s arm, but before she can pull, Midoriya spins herself in midair like an ice skater and Shinsou is pulled towards Midoriya’s waiting fist.
1A quickly ties up 1B. Uraraka makes them all weightless before Kagari grabs them all with her quirk and flies over to the holding cell, throwing them all in.
“Match Over!” Midnight says over the PA. 1A’s team cheers as 1B unties themselves. Both teams head back to the observation room.

Chapter Text
Midoriya, Uraraka, Kagari, and Ashido arrive back at the observation room with class 1B’s team.
“Alright!” Midnight started, clapping her hands together. “Class 1A takes the win of this exercise with three victories over class 1B’s one. Congratulations!” Most of class 1A is excited and celebrates their victory whereas most of 1B just looks disappointed. Midoriya sees Shinsou walk over to Aizawa and Vlad King with a monotone expression that mirrors Aizawa’s.
“I know this exercise was serving as my entrance exam into the hero course,” Shinsou said with a sigh before looking down at the ground. “I’m disappointed with my performance. I could have done better.” Vlad King looks surprised to learn that Shinsou figured out why she was in the exam. Aizawa, however, was not surprised at all.
“Hey, as someone who fought you first hand, I think you did really well!” Midoriya said to Shinsou, giving her a bright smile. “I’m looking forward to a rematch with you.” Shinsou eyes widened slightly in surprise.
“Shinsou-san, you are right that this exam was serving as your entrance exam,” Vlad King started. “Starting next year you will be joining the hero course.” Shinsou’s eyes got even wider at hearing that she actually passed.
“Congratulations!!” Midoriya said, still with a bright smile.
“Yeah! You earned it!” Kagari added. Shinsou just looked bewildered, but nodded before looking at Midoriya.
“I’m looking forward to a rematch with you as well,” Shinsou said with a face that could almost be considered a smile. She bowed to the teachers and both classes before leaving.
“You are all dismissed. Get changed and head back to the dorms. You all did well,” Ms. Terra said, giving both classes a proud smile. “Oh, Akko, I need to speak with you for a moment.” Kagari looked confused but nodded and jogged over to her mother. Midoriya, Uraraka, and Hagakure waited out of the hearing range of the two. Midoriya couldn’t hear what they were saying, but she could see several emotions on Kagari’s face. She looked confused, then surprised before going back to confusion again and nodding before leaving the conversation.
“What was that about?” Hagakure asked when Kagari returned.
“Not really sure, something about extra training for me tomorrow?” Kagari shrugged. No one but Kagari could see Hagakure frown at that. “It’s not a punishment don’t worry! Apparently something happened that she hadn’t noticed before and she wants to teach me about it. Something about a new part of my quirk?” She just shrugged.
As they walked away, Midoriya could hear as Ms. Terra shouted after Midnight. “Oh, Nemuri! Do you still have that extra copy of that lesson plan-” was all Midoriya could hear before she was too far away.
In the locker room, the girls all changed back into their uniforms and chatted. “Akko-chan, what’s the deal with your mom and Midnight-sensei?” Hagakure asked as she finished putting away her costume. Kagari just looked at her confused.
“What do you mean?” She said with a furrowed brow.
“They seem kinda close, what’s up with that?” Hagakure asked. Kagari just looked surprised and shrugged.
“I have no idea...I haven’t really been talking to my mom that much recently. We’ve both been really busy, so I have no idea. They’re probably just good friends or something?” Kagari answered with a shrug.
“Oooh! Are we shipping Ms. Terra-sensei and Midnight-sensei!?” Ashido asked excitedly. Kagari’s face went red for a moment before she groaned and facepalmed.
“Please don’t make me think about my mother’s love life...besides, my mom doesn’t really do that kind of thing with anyone anymore really. Says she’s too busy dealing with life for relationships,” Kagari said, pulling on her shoes. She shrugged after the last comment.
“Awww, they’d make such a cute couple though! We should set them up!” Ashido squealed.
“Please no…” Kagari begged, burying her face in her hands.
“It is probably best we don’t interfere with our teacher’s personal lives,” Yaoyorozu added. Kagari just gave her a thankful look.
“Aww, you’re no fun, Yaomomo,” Ashido pouted. Kagari just rolled her eyes as they all finished packing up and headed back to the dorms.

Kagari Atsuko discovers a new part of her quirk

Chapter Text
The next day, Kagari and Ms. Terra are standing in Gym Gamma. Ms. Terra got permission to give Kagari a private lesson during her free period. Kagari is doing some stretches while Ms. Terra explains why she brought her here.
“Alright, so, it turns out I was wrong about your quirk,” Ms. Terra starts. Kagari gives her mother a raised eyebrow as she stretches. “I thought your quirk was simply a mutation of your father’s quirk that made it more powerful, but that is not the case. From what I’ve seen of what you’ve been able to do, it requires a far more powerful quirk than anything close to your father’s.”
“Wait...are you saying…” Kagari started, pausing mid stretch. Her eyebrows were raised and her eyes wide.
“Yes,” Ms. Terra confirmed. “Your quirk is a combination of your father’s and mine...Which honestly doesn’t make any sense...Genetically it shouldn’t be possible for any of my children to get even part of my quirk.” Ms. Terra held the bottom of her jaw, thinking.
“What does this mean for what I am capable of?” Kagari said as she stood up, having finished her stretches. Ms. Terra sighed.
“Honestly? I don’t know. But, if I am correct, which I believe I am, that means that you are capable of a lot more than I originally thought...I think it would be a good idea to do some tests to see what you are capable of. If I’m right, you may have a new ultimate move by the end of this period,” Ms. Terra gave her daughter a smirk. Kagari responded in kind with a determined smile of her own.
“What did you have in mind?”
“Well, for starters, the way you use your telekinetic energy to create long blades in your Black Swordsman attack, what if you instead surrounded your entire body in telekinetic energy. If you are able to do this correctly, you would have a move that enhances your speed, strength, and agility. Much in the same way young Midoriya does,” Ms. Terra said. “Get into a balanced stance and stabilize your breathing.” Kagari did as she was told. “Now, concentrate on your body, don’t do anything else yet, just feel the energy flow around your body.”
Kagari took deep slow breaths. She didn’t strain herself too much, she just let her energy flow around her like an aura. It felt similar to the way her telekinetic echolocation felt. After a few minutes of meditation her mother spoke up again.
“Alright, now, I want you to walk towards me, being sure to keep that energy surrounding you. Have it help you move. Remember, you aren’t moving your body parts like you do when you fly. You’re moving the energy itself. The energy will do everything else,” Ms. Terra said, her arms reaching out in a way that a mother might watch their baby take their first steps.
Kagari nodded and took a step. At first she had to stop because the energy wasn’t sticking properly. However, she soon figured it out, walking slowly towards her mother with her eyes closed. As she moved, she slowly was able to walk faster and faster without the energy failing to stick to her. She was concentrating on the energy so much that her mother’s arms caught her by surprise when they lightly grabbed her shoulders. She opened her eyes and the aura stopped.
“Great job, Akko! I could see the purple aura surrounding you when you did it!” Ms. Terra said proudly. “Now, the first step is to make sure you can do all of your normal movements while keeping the aura surrounding you. After that we can move on to using the aura to enhance your movements!” Kagari nodded with a determined smile. She closed her eyes and activated the aura again before opening her eyes. “Okay, I want you to run to that wall, then back to me. We’ll see how well you can keep the aura up while doing that.” Ms. Terra said, pointing to the far wall.
Kagari started moving to the wall. Slowly at first, but her speed increased as she moved till she hit the wall and kicked off it, sprinting back to her mother. Ms. Terra had a big, proud smile on her face. The two of them continued doing exercises, getting more and more complicated in the movements. Once Ms. Terra noticed that the aura was keeping up perfectly fine, she decided it was time to move onto the next phase.
“Alright!” Ms. Terra said, clapping her hands together. “Now, lets try using that aura to increase your movement speed!” Kagari nodded and started doing just that. She ran towards one of the platforms at an incredible speed. She kicked off of it and made her way to the tallest platform and back again with her new enhanced speed. By the time she got back, Ms. Terra was clapping in excitement.
“I want to try seeing how hard I can hit now,” Kagari said, making fast in front of her before looking at her mother. Ms. Terra nodded with an excited smile.
“Yes! Maybe try a jump and a punch on one of the platforms to see how hard you can hit it? Maybe you can even crack it!” Ms. Terra said, getting so excited she started talking a lot faster. Kagari nodded with a determined smile before turning to face the platforms. She got into a wide stance with her fists clenched perpendicular to her waist. She poured all of her concentration into her aura, so all sounds were lost and she closed her eyes.
Vlad Kind opened the door with class 1B trailing behind him. He saw Ms. Terra and Kagari and furrowed his brow.
“Ah, Kan-san,” Ms. Terra said with a smile. “Don’t worry, we were just finishing up. Akko, let’s continue this another time.” She turned to her daughter who’s hair was floating above her head. She didn’t respond to her mother or even register than anyone else was there. “Akko?” Ms. Terra said with a frown. She walked over to place a hand on her daughter’s shoulder, but before she could, Kagari took off.
Kagari poured all her energy into her legs, using them to launch herself at an incredible speed towards the pillar. She hadn’t heard her mother or anyone else because all her focus was on her aura.
“Akko!” Ms. Terra shouted with a surprised face. Vlad King and the rest of 1B also looked surprised as Kagari launched herself towards one of the pillars.
Kagari imagined Midoriya, and how she used her power. She channeled all her aura into her right arm as she gritted her teeth and pulled the arm back, preparing to punch. Psychic Smash! Kagari hit the pillar as hard as she possibly could. The tall platform shattered, as Kagari felt her consciousness slip away.
Ms. Terra watched as her daughter shattered the platform before she began to fall, the aura no longer around her. “Akko!!” Ms. Terra shouted again in panic, so loud and suddenly that her voice cracked as she sprinted to try and save her daughter. There was no way she would make it in time to catch her daughter, but she didn’t need to. Vlad King used his quirk to launch his blood over to Kagari and caught her in a solid formation of his blood. He lowered her to the ground as Ms. Terra arrived.
“Akko! Sweetie, talk to me! Please!” Ms. Terra frantically said. She held her daughter in her arms. Kagari was passed out and her right arm was bleeding on the knuckles. The impact seemed to have broken her arm whereas her legs seemed like she sprained them. Ms. Terra took a deep breath and activated her healing aura. She glowed a bright yellow as she ran her arms along Kagari’s arm and legs, healing them.
By the time she was done healing her, Vlad King had run over to the two of them. “Is she alright?” he asked, concerned. Ms. Terra just gritted her teeth and shook her head before she stood up. She had one arm under her daughter’s knees and the other under her shoulder. She didn’t even give Vlad King a second glance as she took off sprinting towards the entrance of the gym. Class 1B stepped aside, some with worried looks, others with confused ones.
Kendo and Shouda held the doors open for Ms. Terra who gave them a small nod as she sprinted off towards Recovery Girl’s office.

Chapter Text
Terra burst through the doors to the infirmary causing Recovery Girl to jump slightly.
“Vlad King told me she was hurt, what happened?” Recovery Girl asked as Terra rushed over to the nearest bed and laid her daughter down on it.
“Training accident,” Terra said between breaths. “Broke her right arm and sprained both her legs...I healed them already…” Recovery Girl looked over Akko, examining her arms and legs.
“They seem to be healing fine. Though she used her quirk too much, so she’ll be out for a little while,” Recovery Girl said, looking at Terra who’s face held many emotions. Her eyes were red from nearly crying, and she had a look of sadness and anger as she looked at her daughter. She leaned down and whispered something in her daughter’s ear before she kissed her on the forehead and started walking towards the entrance to the infirmary.
“Inform me when she’s awake,” Terra said in a cold anger as she stormed out of the infirmary. As soon as the doors closed behind her, the brisk walk turned into a run.
Exiting the school her run turns into a full sprint as she moves toward a small forest inside of the UA grounds. She comes to a stop at a tree off of the path and starts punching it. She manipulates her quirk to not heal her hands or wrist as she punches the tree. It doesn’t take long for her knuckles to get bloody and her wrists to sprain, but she keeps punching between gritted teeth.
As she hears someone walking up towards her, she hits the tree one more time as hard as she can before she stops to catch her breath. Blood dripped from her knuckles and a skinny blonde man stood behind her and sighed.
“It’s not your fault,” the man said. Terra gritted her teeth, but didn’t turn, simply clenching her fists tighter.
“Bull fucking shit, Toshinori,” she spat between gritted teeth. “I pushed her too far, and didn’t stop her when she tried to do something stupid. In fact! I damn well encouraged it!” She turned to face him now as she yelled. Toshinori could see the fury in her eyes, he had never seen her this angry before. He just turned slightly and sat down on the forest floor, leaning his back against a tree.
“What happened?” he asked her, as he looked her in the eye. She kept her teeth gritted for a few more moments before turning and punching the tree one more time. She sat down against it and sighed. Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm herself a little.
“I discovered something new about Akko’s quirk. As you know, she has a very powerful telekinetic quirk. Her father’s...her father’s quirk was powerful, but not even close to her level...I discovered that Akko didn’t just get her father’s quirk...She got part of mine as well…” she said, staring at the ground as she held her knees, blood dripping on her pants.
“Your quirk?” he raised an eyebrow at this and she nodded.
“My quirk may be called Regeneration legally, but it’s not a regeneration quirk. It’s actually a power type quirk…” she said, still not looking at him. His eyes widened and his eyebrows went up in surprise. “It’s sort of a stockpile of energy that can be used, similar to your old quirk...Because both of my parents were quirkless, it had nothing to empower, so it empowered my natural regeneration. Empowered it so much that it moves far beyond what any natural regeneration can do.”
“So...because she has part of your quirk, her telekinetic abilities are enhanced?” he asked, still not fully understanding how her quirk works. She nodded before looking at him.
“I...I encouraged her to try and use her telekinetic energy in a new way...I had her basically surround herself in her energy and had it enhance her movements; basically making her stronger and faster. Not as fast as she is when she flies normally, but it’s more for combat than transport.” She looked at her hands, they were a bloody mess. Her wrists were starting to turn purple.
“For a comparison, when she was moving around and sparring with me, her strength was probably comparable to 3%-5% of Midoriya-kun’s power. Of course it took a lot more out of her than it does for Midoriya-kun. She wanted to see how hard she could hit...So she surrounded only her legs in the energy and used that to jump before transferring it all to her right arm...She completely destroyed the concrete pillar, but she hurt herself...If I had to guess, I’d say she hit that pillar with about 20% of Midoriya-kun’s power,” she sighed and buried her face in her knees.
“Phoenix...You’re her mother and her teacher. You made a mistake, but punishing yourself isn’t going to make it so it didn’t happen. You’re experienced, do better next time,” he gave her a soft smile. She let out a soft chuckle and shook her head.
“When did you go and get all old and wise, Toshi?” she laughed as she shook her head. He just shook his head foundly, but gave her a soft smile. She returned with a slightly uneasy smile, but nodded. She looked at her hands and let her quirk turn on again. Within seconds, all the damage was fully healed, all that remained was the blood.
The two teachers sat there in comfortable silence for a little while, before Terra’s phone started ringing.
“Terra,” she answered the phone. “Alright, thanks.” She hung up, putting the phone away as she and Toshinori stood up. “That was Recovery Girl, Akko is awake.” Toshinori simply nodded as Terra started jogging back to the infirmary.
Akko blinked. She opened her eyes and looked at the ceiling before trying to get up.
“Easy there, dearie,” she heard from her left. She looked over to see Recovery Girl standing next to her. “You injured yourself during training.” Akko frowned, but nodded. Suddenly, three people burst through the door.
“Akko!” Toru shouted as she ran over to the side that Recovery Girl wasn’t on.
“Please don’t run in my office. She is still resting from quirk exhaustion so don’t overwhelm her,” Recovery Girl said firmly before moving over to her desk. The other two people, Ochako and Deku, walked over to her other side.
“What happened?” Deku asked as she gripped the sheets worriedly.
“I...uh...I kinda over did it with my quirk…” Akko said quietly. She felt someone hit her on her arm and when she barely had time to look over at Toru before she was being hugged. She laid there wide eyed for a moment before embracing her friend back. “I’m sorry for worrying you…” she said softly.
“Please...don’t do that again…” Toru whispered into her ear. She could feel the tears start to fall on her.
“I won’t, I promise,” Akko smiled softly. She didn’t notice her other two friends giving soft smiles as the pair embraced. Eventually, Toru let go of the hug and Akko sat up.
“So, what exactly happened?” Ochako asked. Akko rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly.
“I may have pulled a Deku and broke my arm from punching something too hard…” she said sheepishly. Deku face palmed and both Ochako and Toru looked 100% done. Akko just smiled awkwardly.
“Were you, or were you not, the one always telling me to stop breaking my arms every time I used my quirk,” Deku deadpanned. Akko grimaced.
“Um...Whoops?” Akko said awkwardly before she was hit again on the arm by Toru. “Ow!”
“Please stop hitting my patient. Kagari-san you are free to go, although I called your mother, she should be here soon,” Recovery Girl said, clearly not amused.
“Yes, ma’am. Thank you.” Right as she finished, her mother came into the infirmary. Her friend stepped out of the way before her mom pulled her into a tight hug. She embraced her mother back.
“I’m sorry, Akko,” was all she said as she held her daughter. After at least a minute, her mom pulled back and held Akko by her shoulders, looking into her eyes. “I failed you. As a teacher and as a mother. I won’t let that happen again.”
“Mom, it’s fine. It’s my fault for going too far.”
“No, it’s my job to stop you from going too far and I failed at that,” she said before sighing and letting go of Akko’s shoulders. She stood up straight and her look turned from concerned to serious. “You are never to do that again. Whenever you use your Omega State you are to never focus all of your energy like that. Am I clear?” Mom said sternly and Akko gulped. Even Ochako, Deku, and Toru felt a little uneasy at the sudden mood change.
“Y-Yes, ma’am,” Akko said quickly, trying not to look away from her mother’s terrifying look.
“Good. You four head back to the dorms,” she said, taking a step back and looking at all four of them. The four of them paled then quickly scrambled out of the infirmary.
“Sometimes I forget how terrifying your mom is, Akko-chan,” Deku said once they were clear of the infirmary. Akko just grimaced.
“Oh, what exactly is Omega State ?” Toru asked as they walked.
“Oh, that’s just what I call my new ultimate move!” Akko said excitedly. “Basically, I surround myself in telekinetic energy and it enhances all of my attacks. Kinda like Full Cowl though not nearly as strong.”
“I may need to spar with you to see just how strong it is,” Deku said with a mischievous grin.
“Not today, though. I think you’ve done enough reckless things for the day,” Toru said, exasperated. Akko just giggled and ‘booped’ Toru which earned her an eyeroll.
