Chapter Text

You worked at a small café. Just something to make a little money. Your parents where paying for the trip and you where living with your beloved Uncle and Aunt so you didn't really have any reason to spend money. But the thought of just laying around didn't sit well with you.

You heard the jingle of the bell and looked up from your phone. It was a quiet afternoon only a few people trickling in at times. You where met with brown eyes staring straight at you. You got that a lot. Looking obviously not from around here with your blond hair and blue eyes.

"Can I help you?" You questioned straightening up. He nodded. "Uh ya, can I have seven iced americano?" I nodded and got to work on the drinks. "Name for the order?" You asked. He blinked looking surprised at first.

"Uh, Kim Namjoon." I nodded and side eyed him as I made the drinks. He wasn't bad, his hair was a little...odd? But he held a kind smile. "Where are you from?" I was on the third drink when he broke the silence. Turning you grinned, "What makes you think I'm not from here?" He stumbled in a apology and I laughed. "I'm kidding. I'm from the States." He nodded.

"What's your name?" you almost dropped the fourth cup when he spoke in perfect English. "You know English?" you responded back in English. He nodded.

"Cool!" you chirped and finished the rest of the drinks in silence. Putting the drinks in a drink holder I went to ring him up. He stumbled over his money but put the amount down. "Oh shoot, I only have enough for six." He muttered to himself. You hesitated. "It's on the house." I said taking the money. He looked up in surprise. "Are you sure?" Back to Korean. Switching back you nodded. "Ya. I'm sure. You just have to answer one question." He nodded.

"What's up with the hair?" He blinked before smiling. Melting at his cute dimples you smiled. "I'm actually a trainee. Along with six other boys." You perked up only reading a little about the idol life before coming here. "Wow, so I'm basically meeting a soon to be celebrity?" He laughed. "Not quite, we have to debut first and see if people like us."

You handed him the drinks. "Well, you have one fan already." He smiled brightly. "Thanks, uh I never got your name." You smiled.

"Lily." He nodded. "Thanks Lily, I promise I'll pay you back for the drink." Waving it off you shook your head. "Don't bother, I won't accept it anyways." He opened his mouth and I held up a finger. "I'm very stubborn." you said with a grin. He smiled. "Bye!"

And like that he was gone.

You where sure you would never see Kim Namjoon again. You where very wrong. Every week, the exact same time, the exact same day, there he was. Until one say he came and six people trailed behind him.

"Namjoon!" You cheered already working on the order. "Lily, this is my group members." You surveyed every one, all of them unique and young. Though you where to.

"Hi! I'm Lily." You greeted with a smile. You saw what looked like the youngest hide behind one with very broad shoulders. "So you're the one Joon won't shut up about." The man teased. We both blushed slightly and you scratched the back of my neck awkwardly. "Well, I guess that's me?" The man stuck out his hand. "Kim Seokjin." you shook it with a smile.

"Lily." You replied. Going around you met all of them the young one, Jeon Jungkook didn't look me in the eye when you greeted him but you just laughed it off.
You contiuned their drinks before handing them over you made short conversation with Namjoon.

"So, any update on the debut day?" He shook his head. "Not yet, but I'm sure it will be soon." You nodded. "Of course, I have absolute faith in you guys."

"Why." Min Yoongi said bluntly. You paused tilting your head. "What do you mean?" You questioned. He crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. "I mean, you don't even know us. Yet you're spending your money on us and saying we can do it. So why?" You did not like his attitude. Coming from around the corner you stood toe to toe with him not baking down, even when he towered over you.

"Can't I be a decent human? You guys seem pretty cool, I'm only here for a couple months, might as well try to make friends." He narrowed his gaze. "Exactly, you'll leave eventually."

"Yoongi, have some manners!" Jin scolded. You didn't turn your gaze away form him. "No. He's right. The only reason I'm here is because I'm running away from life. But you know what Min Yoongi?" He raised an eyebrow. Switching to English you leaned forward.

"You can kiss my ass." Namjoon spluttered and Yoongi narrowed his eyes even more trying to understand what just happened. Smirking you sauntered back to the drinks and but them in a carrier. "Have a good day boys!" You called as they left.

And that was the beginning of it. You guys met every week and hanged out at your work. Eventually Jungkook could even look you in the eye and Yoongi didn't treat you like crap. You got closer to them before you started hanging out outside of the coffee shop. At a park close to their dorms you would laugh with them and tease them and you could call them your friends.

You would playfully flirt with them laughing every time Jungkook would become a blushing mess and hide from you. But your leaving date approached closer as their debut date came closer as well. You tried to get your parents to give you another month, but they where firm. You where coming home. Back to your boring life, without the boys.

You laid on your back the sun shining through the tree bathing you in a light as the other boys where sprawled all over. "Hey guys." They all muttered something so you knew that they where listening. "Can we make a deal?" Some of them sat up looking at you with sleepy eyes. They where working themselves so hard to get ready for their performance.

"In three years, can we come back to this spot. Just to say hi again?" Joonie smiled. "Of course! And we have your number so when you leave we can still talk to you. But we can make the deal."

"You guys won't forget little ol me?" you questioned biting your lip in the thought that they would forget you. Someone grabbed your hand softly. You looked up to see Yoongi holding your hand while not looking at you.

"We won't forget you. How can we. You're our first fan." Jimin teased. I smiled at the sky. Everything would be ok.

***
You guys all stood at the airport. Holding your luggage you gave a small smile your eyes tearing up at the thought of leaving. Hugging them they whispered words of encouragement and promises. How blind of you to think they would remember them. You placed a kiss on all of their cheeks whishing you had more time to develop this amazing relationship. Maybe it could have been something more.

With one last hug you where off, back home. Away from them.

***
It wasn't bad at first. You guys texted every day called every week. It was like they never left. You where there when they debuted and cheered them on from the facetime that one of their managers where holding. Then they took off. You would hear from them maybe one a week, sometimes two. They always spologized and promised they would talk more.

They broke that with so many others.

You always said it was ok. That you understood. If they only knew how much pain you where in. Stuck in a college you didn't like, with a degree you hated. And no friends. Then it was only holidays and birthdays until, they just stopped responding. You tried to understand, you really did. But a voice inside just whispered, they promised.

You still supported them, voted for them, cheered for them, loved them. But you never heard back from them. You got a job after college, just a simple office job. Something that made you want to pull your hair out because of how boring it was. You counted down the days, saved up money for a plane ticket and a simple dress. Until the week of.

You where going to South Korea.

Would they even show up?
