I never needed you as a friend

Summary:

Even after all the disagreements, Katsuki and Shoto are always there for each other, they try to purse a friendship, though there might be more that they want from each other.

Work Text:

“You need to stay still! Do you want me to patch you up or not?!”

“I don’t find this necessary at all, I could have easily gone to Recovery Girl for my injuries.”

That morning’s training had left Shoto with a bad injury, with Bakugo volunteering to bandage him up. It was pretty surprising to everyone, including Shoto. Not to mention Katsuki has been constantly trying to get closer to Shoto lately. Though he was grateful, Shoto couldn’t understand why he was so insistent on it.

Bakugo huffed, finally deciding to give up. “Fine, go do it yourself.” He held his hands up, going off into his room.

Shoto sat completely confused. It was strange how serious Bakugo was about helping him. Not to mention they were arguing. Well, a whole lot more than usual. Shoto wanted to have some sort of bond with him but Katsuki’s attitude was making it quite difficult. So instead, they were to continue the same cycle of going nowhere with their relationship.

Bakugo shut the door, dropping onto the bed. Great, another failed attempt. Was it really that hard for him to be friendly? Who was he supposed to ask to know if he was doing it right? What the hell even was the right way to be friendly? That would have been humiliating. It was only giving him a headache. Which he took as a sign to get some sleep.

....

“You really thought I wasn’t gonna come? Come on, let’s get you up.”

Something about Katsuki’s tone made him seem less annoyed than usual. Instead of being aggressive, he rolled his eyes, giving Shoto a smirk.

The problem was Todoroki was horrible at reading emotions. This was throwing him off the rails. He let Bakugo help pull him up from something worse than a simple cut on his arm. Bakugo pulled him up a little closer than intended.

They only stared at each other for a while. Sure, they were pretty much wrapping up their patrol for now but they would need to be getting back to campus.

“You could have..you could have gotten hurt, be more careful. I can’t keep saving you.”

Shoto shook his head, rolling up his sleeve to reveal the injury. “I am not in a position to make promises, the life of a hero is a dangerous one.”

“Yeah, no shit.” Bakugo took a step back, crossing his arms. “Come on, IcyHot. Before we get left behind.”

Bakugo went off ahead of him, barely leaving Shoto any time to react. “You could probably wait up for me next time.”

Bakugo just continued walking, heading back towards the sidewalk. “Maybe you could have paid more attention and walked a bit faster.”

Todoroki shook his head. “Let’s not argue like children, I’m quite hungry and would like to have lunch once we return.”

Bakugo opened his mouth, most likely to reply with some kind of sarcastic comment before Todoroki completely shut him down.

“I want you to sit with Midoriya, Iida and I during our lunch period.”

“What? Who says I’m wasting my lunch period with him?”

“Bakugo, from what I have been informed, you’ve spent the majority of your life around Midoriya. We’re talking about multiple years of school together, am I correct?”

“Obviously, but I don’t see your poin-“

“Then spending some time with him during lunch should be nothing compared to that.”

Bakugo stopped dead in his tracks. With Todoroki still going forward,he passed him. Katsuki huffed, stomping after him.

If everything went as Shoto planned, this may put them onto a path to bonding a bit better.

....

During lunch, Izuku and Iida were trying to come up with ways for the two to bond while Shoto slowly slurped up soba, listening carefully. Bakugo had his feet on the table, even though Iida had requested that he shouldn't do so, and was just barely paying attention.

“Why don’t you two go out together? Maybe to a festival or for food?” Midoryia had suggested.

Shoto placed his bowl down. “That wouldn’t work. We wouldn’t be able to decide on what to do.”

Bakugo sighed, though he’d hate to admit it: “IcyHot’s got a point. We’d take to long arguing about that then actually going anywhere.”

“You could stay in possibly. Maybe to watch a movie or play a game?”

Bakugo sat up suddenly, groaning. “That still has us trying to decide on something together, do you really think we’re going to be able to do that?”

Midoriya piped up, an idea popping into his mind. “How about, how about, a pillow talk? But not between lovers or anything like that!”

Shoto raised an eyebrow. “And what exactly would we even talk about?”

“You could start off with something you’re both interested in and then just go off from there. Maybe you could throw a movie in there and talk about it!”

“That sounds incredibly boring.”

Todoroki shrugged. “I see no harm in trying it, there might be some potential in that.”

“Come on! It’s a waste of time!”

Iida tried to bring some order to the situation. “You would never know if you don’t give it any bit of a chance. I thought you two actually wanted to bond with each other?”

They did, but in every way their personalities, ideals and goals all clashed in the worst way. But one thing they both could agree on was they weren’t going down saying they didn’t at least try.

“This idea stinks, but whatever I guess.”

“I think we should meet up in your dorm then, I’m not sure if mine will be that comfortable for you.”

“I’m definitely already starting to regret this.”

….

“I put on a sucky movie, so we don’t have to pay so much attention to it to ‘talk’.”

Shoto sat down on the pillow fort that both of them (mostly Shoto) had made on the floor. “You’re really opposed to talking to me.”

Bakugo reached his hand into a bowl of popcorn stolen from the kitchen. “If it wasn’t obvious to you before, I’m not at all the type to talk casually like that with someone.”

Shoto wrapped a blanket around himself. “I’m not sure I can talk enough for both of us though..”

“You might have to..Hey! Share, I’m cold too.”

Shoto scooted over and extended the blanket out towards Bakugo, with both of them huddled under the blanket, their shoulders were pretty much touching.

“So, erm..This might be quite difficult.”

“You said it..”

Neither of them expected things to get awkward, that quickly. Maybe possibly be able to carry a conversation just a few minutes longer, even if it was purely arguing, not immediately once they sat down.

“I..find something quite odd in your behavior as of recently.” Shoto finally spoke up, still looking ahead at the TV.

“And? Go ahead, tell me.”

“I see you..making quite a lot of attempts to try to help me, even when you don’t need to, more specifically when I appear to be injured or possibly in danger.”

Bakugo rubbed the back of his neck. “Look, I just-“

Shoto finally looked over at him, awaiting an answer.

“It’s not like I’m gonna watch you get hurt, even though you’re annoying and we always find ourselves in an argument. Maybe I wanna put in the effort to actually show that I give a shit about someone.”

Shoto smiled. “And here I thought you were a heartless monster.”

Bakugo frowned, he almost looked disappointed. “I gave you all that and this is what you respond with.”

Shoto held his hands up in defense. “I was only attempting to make a harmless joke.”

Bakugo rolled his eyes, bringing his knee up to his chest and resting his arm on it.

Shoto nodded, taking his eyes off him for a moment. “I’ve been trying to make those sort of attempts as well, though mine haven’t been as obvious.”

“Oh no, I noticed that I know you’re trying but yikes.”

Shoto laughed. “You’re forgetting that I could say the same about you.”

“You can say it all ya want. Neither one of us know the first thing about forming a positive relationship.”

“We do have our friendship with Midoriya to prove us wrong..for the most part.”

Bakugo smirked, popping another snack into his mouth. “Sure, but obviously this is way fucking different.”

Shoto nodded. “Hopefully you’re suggesting it might be similar but it will still be a great relationship.”

“Can it be more than just great?”

“You want it to be the best-“

“I want it to be the best.”

Shoto shook his head. “We know each other too well not to be friends, even if it might not be that close.”

“Uh-Huh..this movie is shit.”

Todoroki nodded, hugging a pillow close. “I much rather keep talking to you instead of having to pay even an ounce of attention to this horrible, god awful movie.”

Bakugo playfully jabs Shoto in the shoulder, taking the opportunity to steal more of the blanket while Shoto is down.

Shoto laughed, shaking his head. “Oh..Oh that was very sneaky.”

Katsuki sticks his tongue out. “Yeah, that’s the fucking point, Half n’ Half!”

“Alright, Alright. Enough, give it back now.”

Bakugo rolled his eyes, stretching the blanket out over Todoroki’s shoulder before leaning back.

“I’m guessing you’re gonna sleep here?”

“We are up past curfew, Iida won’t have that at all if I try to go back now. So your guess is correct.”

Bakugo picked up the remote. “Let’s at least watch something decent then.”

....

The pair returned to campus with Katsuki laughing loudly as they entered the dormitory. Todoroki followed closely behind, wiping his brow. Even though he was rolling his eyes, he was smiling.

“I’ll give you that one, you can be fucking hilarious if ya tried.”

Iida and Kirishima were sitting in the lounging area. Kirishima looked back after hearing Bakugo’s comment. “Glad you finally decided to show up, your patrol should have been way past over by now.”

Bakugo nodded proudly, taking off his gauntlets. “We might have made a couple of stops.” He shrugged. “Someone might have stolen his dad’s credit card so we might have gotten ice cream.”

Todoroki’s small smile and nod confirmed this. “It’s only a small possibility.”

Iida stood up. “It's good to know your bonding sessions are going well. Even with Bakugo being so opposed to them.”

Sure, their pillow talks hadn’t gone on for too long but both of them could tell they have been making a ton of progress. They were very much looking forward to that night, Shoto’s turn finally rolling around for their movie and snack choice.

Bakugo laid back on the couch, putting his arms behind his head. “Eh, they’re alright.”

Todoroki crossed his arms. “We just hung out today.”

“That doesn’t at all mean we’re bonding.”

Todoroki shook his head. “It clearly does if you haven’t noticed.”

Iida sighed. “Maybe not, we’ll have to come up with some other option then.”

Kirishima chuckled. “No no, I think they’re just messing around. It’s kinda their thing.”

Todoroki sat down. “That’s very true.”

Izuku came into the room. “I was wondering when you’d come back, we have our book club not too long from now.”

Shoto raised an eyebrow, before it finally clicked in his brain. “Oh lord, I may have forgotten.”

“Well if we hurry, we could pick out a book for you, now come on!”

Katsuki looked towards him as they started to leave. “Ah ah, you better come right back over here or you’re gonna miss everything.”

Todoroki nodded. “I promise I’ll be back in time, do not start without me.”

Bakugo shrugged. “I can’t make any promises, IcyHot. All depends on you coming back.”

“I can assure you that I will-“

“What part about hurry did you not understand?!”

….

Book club was very unnecessary, who had time to read when the life of a hero took up so much time. But Shoto wanted to make Midoriya happy. This made him happy, so he had to find a book before their book club started in about an hour and a half. From what Yaoyorozu had informed him, it should be a novel that he enjoyed, preferably with discussion questions in the back. What would Shoto even like to read? There were many different genres and it was starting to make his head hurt. Reading was already starting to become stressful. How would he be able to go through this once a week?

As Todoroki started to back away towards the front door behind him, he knocked right into someone. He quickly turned around to be met with Midoriya facing him.

“Sorry, Todoroki..I didn’t mean to bump into you there. How’s your shopping going?”

Todoroki had to admit defeat. “I may be having a bit of trouble. Books are giving me a headache.”

Midoriya laughed a bit. “Oh really? I’m glad I came with you. How about you go up into the cafe and I’ll pick out some things for you.”

Shoto felt like Midoriya knew him well enough to make a few suggestions, hopefully he would help him find something he’d enjoy. This arrangement reminds Shoto of their usual coffee dates, though Midoriya was the one ordering and Shoto avoided talking to anyone. Soon, Izuku came back with a pile of books, it was pretty intimidating.

Midoriya seemed to pick up on this. “Oh geez, is this too much? Should I put a few back?”

Shoto shook his head. “No no, we should review all the options. What do you have for me?”

Midoriya took a seat across from Todoroki and looked through the books he collected, taking a quick sip of the frappuccino his friend had gotten for him. “I got a few really popular ones. Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, A Wrinkle In Time.”

Shoto wasn’t sure if he wanted to admit that none of these titles interested him. But he knew he shouldn’t make a decision before he even knew what it was about. “What is a Harry Potter anyway?”

Midoriya looked up. “Umm..its wizards, wizard school.”

Definitely not very interesting in Shoto’s opinion. “What do you have in the rest of the pile?”

Midoriya picked out a few more. “I may have..just picked out a few with pretty covers.”

Shoto rubbed Midoriya’s hand. “I’m not sure this is what Momo meant by a book you enjoy, I think she means the contents.”

Izuku picked up the entire pile. “We may need to go look together.”

Hopefully this wouldn’t give Shoto a headache once again. He insisted on holding the pile for Midoriya so they could return them to their original spots. He then handed Shoto his cup of black coffee.

“So those signs are for all the different genres. I’m not too sure if you’ll like fantasy all that much or romance or..”

Todoroki pointed towards a sign saying ‘Science Fiction’. “This one seems interesting.”

Izuku nodded, leading him towards that section of the store. As Todoroki looked through the selection, he started to realize he hadn’t made the best decision. He sighed. “Not as interesting as I thought..”

“That’s perfectly fine, we still have some time left. There’s plenty of genres.” Izuku rubbed Shoto’s back. That headache was starting to come back on.

“Please tell me you might have an idea.”

Midoirya nodded, he seemed pretty confident in his idea. “Yes, it's a good one. I think I’ve figured you out.”

Todoroki desperately hoped he was right, if this didn’t work, he might have to just give up on books altogether. He kind of wanted to like books now. He liked the idea of it at least, like settling down with a good book, with a warm cup of coffee or tea, maybe reading together with his friend would be nice. It would give him something to do on rainy days when it was a bit difficult to train. Before Shoto even knew it, Midoriya had led him to a new section. Shoto froze, he just stared for a bit at the covers.

“I just realized, maybe you’d like anthology and poetry books a lot better. They don’t even have to stick to a straight subject they could be about any number of things.”

Shoto looked back at him. “Could we..convince Momo to let me bring more than one book?”

Midoriya laughed. “I mean, maybe. We’re planning on doing this for a while and you may need to get another book once you finish.”

“I think I like poetry. Midoriya, thank you for showing me poetry. This makes me very happy.”

Midoriya pumped his fist up in the air. “Book club will be a success..hopefully.”

Shoto held up a small pile of books. “It very much will be.”

“You know what? This actually makes me think of a bonding activity for you and Kacchan!”

“What would bonding with Bakugo have anything to do with something as beautiful as my newfound love of poetry?”

“Well you might have to study poetry for a bit. But based on how happy you seem about finding it and the fact we now have a book club, you’ll have plenty of time to do that.”

“Are you suggesting I study the different genres of poetry? I would love to but I still don’t see why that would be related.”

“Maybe you could start writing some and show it to Kacchan! It could open you guys up to sharing hobbies you have!”

“No offense to you, Midoriya but that sounds a bit cheesy.”

“Sure it may be cheesy but it might bring you closer as friends!”

Todoroki started to look a little disappointed by those words, though he wasn’t really sure why. Why was he getting so upset about just being friends with Bakugo? That was clearly the goal, to become closer and to bond. But Todoroki felt like he wanted more from the relationship. Best friends possibly? Though that still seemed to fit in the category of friends which still made Todoroki feel uneasy. Once he started to realize that Midoryia was seeing him upset, he attempted to cover it up.

“Yes, as friends. You are correct.”

“Todoroki..are you alright? You were really happy just a moment ago, was it something I said?”

“No no, I think I’ll be alright.”

“Do you not want to be friends with Kacchan after all?”

“The word friend makes me upset somehow..is there something more that I could be to him?”

“Do you want to date Kacchan?”

“I..feel better about that. That seems like a lot more work, however. I may have to try poetry. To open us up. Is there some other ways I could do that?”

“Oh sure! I could show you a few things! Maybe, lemme get by here.”

Todoroki let Midoriya go past him, he pulled out one of the notebooks they were selling. “You could use one of these to write in, I’m assuming you have a couple of fancy pens in your dorm already, right?”

Todoroki smiled once again. “Of course. This will be a good start.”

….

“Fucking finally. You picked this movie out and you were gonna miss the first part. Get some popcorn and sit your ass down.”

Todoroki hurried to put his bag down and get out one book, going to sit in the fort with Bakugo.

“There you go now- Hold on, gimme that. We’re watching movies. This isn’t a study group.” Bakugo grabbed at the book before realizing what it was.

“Momo has you reading poetry? Man, I should have known. Here, I’m guessing you’re gonna show me something so go on. The trailers are playing.”

Todoroki grabbed his notebook back. “You actually might like it.”

Bakugo leaned back, listening as Shoto read his piece. He chuckled a bit after hearing it. “I should have known you’d write some kind of callout to your dad, not that bad.”

Todoroki closed his book. “I’m glad you’re taking this well. Midoriya has suggested that we share our hobbies with each other to form a stronger bond. I wasn’t quite sure how you feel about it but you proved me wrong.”

Bakugo suddenly jumped to his feet, heading over to his TV stand. “Yeah, yeah. Keep talking for a bit.”

Todoroki happily continued his little tangent. “So since I have now discovered my newfound love of poetry, which might I add, I am very happy about. It just felt like the right thing to start sharing with you. This is something I assume..friends do..”

Bakugo seemed to notice the struggle Shoto was having with only one little word, friends. This led him to turn around from whatever he was doing at the TV stand to face him. To his surprise, Todoroki noticed Bakugo soften up a bit.

Todoroki obviously couldn’t read another person’s mind, but if there ever was a possibility, what was currently going on in Katsuki’s mind would have felt like déjà vu. All it felt like was incredibly painful even if that wasn’t the intention.

For some reason that Bakugo couldn’t begin to even explain, it really irritated him. Bakugo didn’t need Todoroki to be his friend at all. Though, he wanted to be with him more than he wanted to be with anyone else. What did he want him around for if it wasn’t to be friends? What hadn’t he thought about before?

“What would the pile be used for..?” Shoto started.

Bakugo realized he blacked out for a bit. “Shit, yeah that.” He grabbed his small pile, sitting down on a pillow beside Todoroki. “You were going on and on about hobbies. I kinda have a lot that no one ever really seemed interested in asking me about.” Bakugo showed off a variety of how-to books. Ranging from cooking to guides about instruments and even competitive sports.

All of Katsuki’s books had a tag addressed to him by his mom, indicating all the books were a gift for him.

“You really did it all. I’m being serious, this is almost unbelievable.”

Bakugo grabbed one of his books, flipping between the pages. “My mom made sure I was active when I was younger. She wanted me to be on top of a whole couple of fields. Putting me into baking and cooking competitions, recitals, games. A whole ton of shit. I know a whole ton of shit about that stuff too. It’s kinda embarrassing.”

Shoto shook his head. “Not at all, some could say it may be very admirable. Here we have you dedicating so much time into so many skills, it’s very impressive.” Todoroki took a look at Bakugo’s collection.

Bakugo shrugged. “Eh, guess you could say that.”

“Now this is what Izuku meant by opening us up. You shared something personal about your hobbies with me. Now I would love to hear more about hobbies if you’re willing to listen to my thoughts on my own.”

Bakugo smirked. “Sure, but first we do have this movie to get through.”

Todoroki smiled. “I was looking forward to it.”

….

Long after that, their nights almost became routine. Todoroki was in Bakugo’s room so often, Bakugo had given him a space to lay down with a blown up mattress and everything. (Even though he wanted him to sleep in the bed sometimes..). Their conversations went on into the night, lasting hours and hours. Each night was a successful snack heist or having Mr. Aizawa come in to tell them to quiet down for being so loud. Every night got more and more interesting as the two learned how to be more comfortable and open with each other.

Bakugo leaned back while he was playing a game, he paused it, looking back towards Todoroki who was up on his bed, writing another piece for his little collection.

“I think I wanna meet up somewhere else for once.”

“Where else would we meet? We couldn’t go anywhere else during the night, can we?

Bakugo shrugged. “Well..I may have planned what we might do..”

“Oh, so this was something you planned maybe days in advance? Is it something I need to prepare for as well?”

“Naw, just bring yourself and your book I guess. Never showed me what you were writing this time. Give it.”

Todoroki held his book defensively. “You can’t just tell me to give it! I thought you said you were working on being a bit nicer!”

Bakugo rolled his eyes at him. “I said I would be working on it, that does not at all mean immediately.”

Todoroki frowned. “Well anyway, it’s still a work in progress. I’m not sure I’m ready to share it with anyone yet…”

He especially wasn’t ready to share this with Bakugo. Midoriya had been trying to build his confidence up in order to confess to Bakugo and this new piece would be the final step. He had also said that he might want to read it to him somewhere special. Maybe wherever Bakugo was planning to go would be nice enough? He had no idea where that might be, so he couldn’t be too sure.

Bakugo got up. “Go on and read it. You don’t have to tell me the parts you don’t want me to hear.”

Todoroki held his breath, according to Midoriya, this was not the perfect set up at all. Still, he’s been holding in this secret for about two months now. If he wasn’t going to tell him now, when? The opportunity just dropped right into his hands.

“Now..don’t and I can’t stress this enough, please don’t laugh.”

Bakugo glared at him. “Haven’t we been over this so many times already, I’m not gonna laugh at you. I haven’t ever laughed at you once before.”

Todoroki flipped back to the correct page, taking a deep breath. He was lying about the piece being unfinished, he’d been working on it ever since Midoriya had suggested it. It was surprising how long he was able to hide it until now.

The poem, so incredibly worded, started off describing all the details about Bakugo that people would immediately pick up on and would only dislike about his character. Only for the poem to slowly ease into the many things Bakugo kept private that Todoroki uncovered by continuing to pursue a stronger bond in their relationship.

Todoroki became uneasy as he began reading the last part, there was now a lump forming in his throat. It became so difficult to speak. Instead of only tripping over one word, it was many many stanzas. Todoroki couldn’t even bother counting them.

He looked up to a silent Bakugo, he was completely still, with his eyes closed. Almost as if he was asleep, though Todoroki knew he was still listening. Even then, the look on Katsuki’s face gave him such an overwhelmingly uneasy feeling that only made him even more nervous.

Meanwhile, Bakugo’s mind was going off the rails in a panic. Todoroki had never written a poem about him, they mainly focused on more personal experiences of his. The sudden pause only made the worrying continue. What the hell did he have to say next?

Bakugo suddenly opened his eyes, turning to face Todoroki once again. They stared at each other silently until Bakugo finally managed to pull a full sentence together.

“That can’t be it, keep on going.”

Todoroki took a breath, continuing to the final part. That’s where he finally let everything go. It wasn’t right to pursue a friendship with Bakugo when they were both aware it was entirely different in every way, shape and form. Todoroki never actually wanted to go through this with a need to be friends with Bakugo. All he really wanted in the end, what he wanted Bakugo to be in his life, was his lover.

Todoroki expected anger or at the very least, disappointment. But Bakugo showed relief, followed by his usual smug attitude. Todoroki’s first reaction was confusion, only until a small smile appeared on his face. That one look from Bakugo gave Shoto all the answers he needed.

“You managed to somehow read my mind and translate that into one of your fancy poems? What the hell, ya Shithead!”

Todoroki closed his eyes, raising his eyebrows. “Shithead?” He grinned. “That’s new.”

Bakugo snorted. “Don’t try to act all smug about it now! I didn’t forget you fumbling over your own fucking writing!”

Todoroki got up from the bed, coming towards him. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“You aren’t that dumb, shitty nerd-” Bakugo had cut off the moment he realized Todoroki made a grab at his hand.

Todoroki was now sitting beside Bakugo, their hands intertwined . “Am I moving too quickly with this? I noticed that hand holding was something Midoriya did with Iida often, so I assumed this would be a comfortable place to start off from.”

Bakugo squeezed Todoroki’s hand, he rubbed it, starting to feel how smooth it was. He seemed like he was making some new discovery. “You know what? This works. But don’t be a pussy later on.”

....

Bakugo struts into the dormitory, proudly holding Todoroki’s hand as his new boyfriend follows along.

Todoroki sighed, shaking his head. “He’s been doing this since we went out this morning. You don’t have to show me off like a prize.”

Bakugo looked back, glaring at him. “Then how the hell are people going to know that we’re dating?”

Denki, who was sitting at one of the common room tables to eat, spits out all his food. “You and Todoroki are dating?”

“As of last night.” Todoroki added.

Izuku heard the news, turning around, grinning. “You told him! That’s great for you and Kacchan!”

Todoroki nodded. “I appreciate that a lot, Midoriya.”

Denki shook his head. “I never would have thought, good for you two anyway.”

Todoroki looked down at Bakugo. “See, you didn’t have to hold my hand for people to know we were dating. You would have just spit it out yourself!”

Bakugo made an attempt to strangle him while Todoroki laughed as he fell backwards.

Denki grinned. “Now that was what I was thinking it would end up like.”

Bakugo brought Todoroki up a flight of stairs, trying to keep his eyes closed.

“Don’t you think this would be a lot easier if I had a blindfold?”

“Whatever, it doesn’t matter. You can open your eyes now, we’re here.”

Todoroki opened his eyes to a beautiful starry night. Bakugo has set up their fort on the roof of the dorms, along with a little makeshift cooking station. Some of the food was already prepared.

“I thought I might teach you to make some copycat recipes. I know it’s your favorite food and all, but you can’t eat soba all the goddamn time.”

“I very much can.” Todoroki went up to the cooking station. “Well, where do we start? I’m ready.”

Bakugo kissed his cheek, pulling on an apron as he stood beside him. “That’s what I like to hear, let’s get it started.”
