Chapter Text
Izuku Midoriya was four and he didn’t know what was happening. His parents had been hurting him for the last year to try and make him manifest a quirk, and now they were kicking him out.
“I don’t know why we didn’t do this from the start.” his father grumbled.
“Because someone thought we could make the useless kid manifest a quirk. Ok now kid, scoot along.” And that was how Izuku Midoriya was left to fend for himself. He wandered for a while, with the little money and food his parents had given him. He wandered until he saw someone his age.
“Hi!” Izuku said, startling the kid. “I’m Izuku Midoryia, but you can call me Izuku! What’s your name? And are you ok?” he said, concern creeping into the last question.
“I-I’m Tenko. Tenko Shimura. and...I don’t know. I’m tired and hungry and.”
“And what?”
“My quirk just came in and, and, and I accidentally killed my whole family and I don’t know what to do and no one wants to help me and I don’t know what my quirk is and-”
“I want to help you.” Izuku stated. “Can you use your quirk on this? Put down four of your fingers to see if it activates, then the last. I like to read about quirks and five finger activation is pretty common.” He handed a discarded bottle to Tenko. Sure enough, when the four-year-old put down his pinky the bottle started turning to dust. “Woah, so cool!” the black-haired boy smiled a little at the greenettes enthusiasm. “It-it disintegrated! So cool!”
“But I can’t turn it off!” he frowned.
“I have an idea! We can get you a pair of gloves and-and cut off one of the gloves fingers! And then you won’t be able to use your quirk unless you take off the gloves! And then I can help you train your quirk!”
“What’s your quirk? Being smart?” the greenette flinched slightly.
“I’m-I’m quirkless. I d-don’t have a quirk. I understand if-if y-you don’t wanna be my friend.”
“Are you kidding? Of course, I want to be your friend! You’re really nice and smart and you wanna help me with my quirk and-” the greenette hugged him. He smiled and hugged the boy back.

Somewhere, All for One frowned. Shimura’s grandson making a friend was not part of his plan.
